Gordon Solie and Jim Cornette welcome us to the show while standing ringside in a sold out arena. Solie goes on to detail some of the action we’ll see today including the Russians in six man action and the Funks in tag action. We then go to the ring announcer for our opening contest.

<b>IVAN KOLOFF, NIKITA KOLOFF, AND KRUSHER KHRUSCHEV VS TRACY SMOTHERS, RAYMOND ROUGEAU, AND DENNY BROWN</b>

This one is plain ugly as the Russians take turns dealing out the punishment. It mercifully comes to an end via a Russian Sickle from Nikita to Smothers.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: IVAN KOLOFF, NIKITA KOLOFF, AND KRUSHER KHRUSCHEV

Post match Ivan gets a microphone and tells the crowd that at the Great American Bash after they deal with the small brained American Jim Duggan and capture the American Flag they will burn it right in the center of the ring. This of course leads to all kinds of boos from the crowd.

<b>TERRY GORDY VS FRED PHILLIPS</b>

Gordy is on a rampage in this one, attacking before the opening bell. Phillips doesn’t stand a chance and Gordy makes this an early night when he hits his opponent with a textbook double underhook suplex for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TERRY GORDY

<b>JAKE ROBERTS VS BRETT SAWYER</b>

Roberts dominates the match, often toying with Sawyer while giving a devilish grin. When he’s tired of playing with his prey Roberts ends it with a DDT.

Jim Cornette welcomes NWA Central States Champion Harley Race to ringside. Race highlights how important this title is to him. He says Gino Hernandez got it in his head that because he got lucky once it means he’s good enough to win this title. He’s not. And at the Great American Bash, Race will end Hernadez’s dream once and for all.

<b>THE FUNKS VS DOUG SOMERS AND BUDDY ROSE</b>

A good tag match which sees both teams get in some offense. Dory takes a beating for a few minutes until Terry gets the tag and comes in like a wildman. Terry cleans house before hitting Somers with a stump piledriver. That gets them the victory.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: THE FUNKS

To end the show the NWA United States Tag Team Champions, the Rock n Roll Express come to ringside. Jim Cornette is conspicuous with his absence as Gordon Solie conducts the interview. Ricky and Robert say they’ve had enough of Roddy Piper and Bob Orton running their mouths and attacking them from behind. A week from now it’s time for the Great American Bash where you’ll have to look the champs in the face and then they’re gonna dropkick you right into yours!

Congrats on hitting National. Interesting that every titleholder is a main eventer. Might need a midcard title for the Midnight Express errr...the Fabulous Ones since Bobby is out. Might need to move Eaton out of the roster position.

As far as Eaton he's still employed. Last month I had him and Condrey removed but once I thought about it I decided to reflect everyone who is under contract

Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross welcome us to this week’s episode of World Championship Wrestling and hype this week’s show. We’ll see Tully Blanchard, Jake Roberts, Rick Martel, the Fantastics and the Ugandan Giant Kimala in action!

<b>JAKE ROBERTS VS GEORGE SOUTH</b>

Roberts toys with South, striking him with hate like an angry cobra. South sells for Roberts like it’s nobody’s business before falling victim to the DDT.

WINNER BY PINFALL: JAKE ROBERTS

Jim Ross welcomes Paul Ellering and the Road Warriors. Ellering says tomorrow night at the Great American Bash the games end! The Andersons will have to look these two men in the eyes and when they do, they will know in their souls that the NWA World Tag Team Championship belongs to Hawk and Animal! When prompted Hawk sends a personal message to the Andersons saying if they try and run away again he’ll break both their legs and drag them back to the ring!

<b>KIMALA W/GARY HART VS STEVE SIMPSON</b>

Kimala absolutely destroys Simpson for several minutes before hitting a running splash. Hart yells at his man, making him hit a second splash before making the pin.

WINNER BY PINFALL: KIMALA

Tony Schiavone welcomes Gary Hart and Kimala. Hart says he cannot wait for tomorrow night because his Ugandan Giant Kimala will put out the wildfire known as Tommy Rich. Kimala is undefeated in over a year and a half and tomorrow he will focus his fury on Rich until he is destroyed!

<b>RICK MARTEL VS STEVE LOMBARDI</b>

This is about as even as a squash match can be. Lombardi gets in about forty seconds of offense before Martel makes his comeback and once he sees the opportunity, Martel locks in a Boston Crab which gets the win.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: RICK MARTEL

We’re shown a video of NWA Television Champion Ricky Steamboat training for his upcoming title defense against Barry Windham at the Great American Bash.

<b>THE FANTASTICS VS RECKLESS YOUTH</b>

A good back and forth match with both teams controlling long swaths of the action. Michaels and Jannetty show good tag work but once Tommy Rogers gets the hot tag the Fantastics take over and end the match with a Rocket Launcher onto Jannetty.

<b>TULLY BLANCHARD W/BOBBY HEENAN VS BRAD ARMSTRONG</b>

Armstrong puts up a good fight against Blanchard but Tully’s mean streak and ability are just too much. Blanchard hits the slingshot suplex for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TULLY BLANCHARD

Blanchard and Heenan join Ric Flair and the Andersons at the interview area. Tony Schiavone can barely ask a question before Flair cuts him off and promises as sure as he’s standing here he will be the next NWA World Heavyweight Champion and he will finish the job he started on Dusty Rhodes’ leg.

Ole and Arn likewise promise the world they are not afraid of two ‘painted freaks’. Ole goes on to remind us that he and Arn are pretty good at hurting people. Arn adds that the bigger they are….the dumber they are.

And then it’s time for Tully but before he can even open his mouth…..

Ted Dibiase runs into the scene and tackles Tully, raining down right hands on him. Ole and Arn begin to pull him off Blanchard but…….

Hawk and Animal enter the brawl and begin pounding away on the NWA World Tag Team Champions. Flair surveys the scene but before he can do anything about it…..

Dusty Rhodes who doesn’t appear to need the crutch he’s carrying swings like Babe Ruth, smashing the crutch across Flair’s back which drops the Nature Boy to the floor. As Schiavone moves away from the chaos he tells us to come back next week for more World Championship Wrestling...and to make sure to order the Great American Bash on pay per view!

Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross, and Gordon Solie welcome us to the show and run down the card before throwing it to the ring.

Tom Miller, longtime JCP ring announcer welcomes the crowd to the Greensboro Coliseum and the Great American Bash! After informing them where they can purchase programs and merchandise he runs down the card before introducing the competitors in the first match.

<b>RICKY STEAMBOAT © VS BARRY WINDHAM W/JAMES J. DILLON</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

A very good match between these two which goes back and forth with several close falls. Windham stays step for step with Steamboat which is a feat in itself but he shows he belongs. Steamboat thinks he has the win with a flying chop off the second rope but Windham gets his foot on the bottom rope. Steamboat lets his guard down for a minute when Dillon starts to climb onto the apron and Windham explodes into him with a lariat but it only gets a two count. Windham sensing victory is near reaches down to pick up Steamboat by the hair but he’s pulled into a small package for the three count.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA TELEVISION CHAMPION: RICKY STEAMBOAT

Steamboat celebrates his well deserved victory as James J. Dillon on the outside has his head in his hands, seeming to sob. Schiavone notes Dillon was so sure his man would win.

<b>ROCK N ROLL EXPRESS © VS RODDY PIPER AND BOB ORTON</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

For the most part this follows the usual path of Morton getting the tar beat out of him in the enemy corner but when he is crawling to make the hot tag, Piper runs around the ring and yanks Gibson off the apron and runs him into the ring post. Orton and Piper go back on the attack. Piper and Orton do not see someone hop the ring side barrier.

Piper who is not legal runs to the ropes but Slater pulls it down and Piper tumbles out. Orton sees Piper go over and starts yelling at Slater. Morton makes the tag to Gibson who has just gotten back up and when Orton turns he eats a double dropkick for the 123.

WINNERS BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA UNITED STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE ROCK N ROLL EXPRESS

The Rock N Roll Express celebrate their victory as Dick Slater smirks in the aisle and Roddy Piper glares at his former friend. The words Piper is mouthing cannot be repeated, Solie notes.

Hernandez starts off hot, overwhelming the champion. Race knows every trick and every inch of the ring but his age is showing here as Hernandez runs him ragged, hitting from multiple directions. Race tries to slow his offense, grinding his young challenger down but Hernandez escapes and staggers Race with a series of right hands. Race is swinging back but hitting only air and when Hernandez kicks him deep in the midsection, Race doubles over and is in perfect position for the Deposit. Hernandez makes the cover and gets arguably the biggest victory of his young career.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND NEW NWA CENTRAL CHAMPION: GINO HERNANDEZ:

The referee is about to award Hernandez with his newly won championship belt when Race rips the belt out of the referee’s hands. Race stares at what he had referred to as the most important thing in the world to him before looking up at Hernandez and offering not only the belt but his hand. Hernandez accepts both and they share a few unheard words before Race leaves the ring and Hernandez begins to celebrate.

<b>TULLY BLANCHARD W/BOBBY HEENAN VS TED DIBIASE</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

This turns violent almost from the opening bell as they fight inside and outside the ring using every part of the ring. Soon enough both men are bleeding and it only gets worse as they continue to brutalize each other. As the match wears on both men are looking exhausted and it comes down to exchanging right hands back and forth until Dibiase knocks Blanchard down. Dibiase begins raining down right hands into Blanchard’s bloodied face as the bell rings and the ring announcer tells us the time has expired.

NO CONTEST: TIME LIMIT DRAW

As Dibiase gets his hand raised by the referee and looks like he wants to keep fighting, Bobby Heenan slowly helps a bloodied and woozy looking Tully Blanchard from the ring and up the aisle.

<b>TOMMY RICH VS KIMALA W/GARY HART</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

Kimala tries to attack Rich before the bell but Tommy is ready for it and he dodges the charge into the corner. Stunned, Kimala is open for attacks and Rich lays into him like no one has done before. Rich’s momentum comes to an end when Kimala floors him with a shocking standing side kick. Kimala is slapping his belly and very proud of himself as he delivers more and more punishment at Hart’s direction. Kimala is going to go for his running splash when he has Rich in position but Hart yells for him to go to the top rope. He climbs up and soars but Rich moves and Kimals belly flops in the ring. The Ugandan Giant gets up quickly more out of instinct than anything but it gives Rich the opening he needs to run at Kimala and hit the Thesz Press. To Hart’s dismay the referee counts to three.

We see a video taped earlier today when Ric Flair arrived in style in a long black limo. He looks great and seemingly very confident as he gets his bags and heads into the Greensboro Coliseum.

The two teams go at it with everything they have and the Andersons manage to keep Hawk in their corner using double teams and dirty tactics. He finally makes the tag to Animal who bulldozes both champions. Heenan climbs onto the apron but Paul Ellering runs around the ring and yanks him down before delivering a punch in the mouth. Out of the chaos, Arn Anderson ends up on Animal’s shoulders and Hawk takes flight with the Doomsday Device. Animal makes the cover as Hawk delivers a big boot to Ole to stop him from breaking it up.

WINNERS BY PINFALL AND NEW NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE ROAD WARRIORS

We’re sent backstage where Bob Caudle is standing by with NWA World Heavyweight Champion Dusty Rhodes.

Dusty says he knows Flair is a dirty underhanded dog but he’s also a dangerous man in that ring. But don’t you worry, the American Dream has a plan and baby, it’s a big one!

The Russians arrive at the ring first with their Soviet flag and it is placed on one ringpost. Gordon Solie reminds us the Russians have promised to burn the American flag if they win this match.

Jim Duggan comes out with the Stars and Stripes but a moment later his surprise partners walk out behind him.

The crowd pops for the surprise of the Junkyard Dog and as the three head to the ring the fight is on!

CAPTURE THE FLAG MATCH

<b>JIM DUGGAN, KERRY VON ERICH AND THE JUNKYARD DOG VS IVAN KOLOFF, NIKITA KOLOFF, AND KRUSHER KHRUSCHEV</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

This is just a six man brawl. Junkyard Dog pairs off with Ivan Koloff, Von Erich with Khruschev, and Duggan with Nikita Koloff for the majority of the match other than when a double or triple team happens. Both teams get close to the enemy flag but can’t quite get there. Nikita breaks free of the pack and goes for the American flag but Duggan stops him at the last second. They exchange right hands but when Nikita rushes Duggan to his the Russian Sickle, Duggan ducks and Nikita takes out Khruschev. The Junkyard Dog delivers a headbutt to Nikita taking him out as Von Erich hits Ivan with the discus punch. All by himself, Duggan goes and collects the Soviet flag to win.

WINNERS BY CAPTURE: JIM DUGGAN, KERRY VON ERICH AND THE JUNKYARD DOG

As the bell rings Duggan throws the Soviet flag down and stomps on it. Junkyard Dog grabs the American flag before Nikita can reach it and the heroes hold the ring as Duggan takes the flag and waves it high in the air to the cheers of the crowd.

<b>RANDY SAVAGE © W/WOMAN VS MAGNUM T..A </b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

A great match which goes back and forth all match long. Both Magnum and Savage control long sections of the match seemingly having the victory at their fingertips until the other man reverses course. Savage is in such a position when he goes to the top for a double axe handle but when he comes down Magnum catches him and delivers a belly to belly but in the motion of twisting the referee is knocked down and nobody can count. Magnum gives up the pin attempt and goes to wake the ref. Woman is screaming at Savage to get his attention and tosses her purse into the ring. Savage recovers and when Magnum turns around he clobbers him right in the face with the purse. Magnum goes down in a heap allowing Savage to climb to the top and hit the big elbow. Savage makes the cover as the referee slowly comes around and counts to three very slowly.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA UNITED STATES CHAMPION: RANDY SAVAGE

Savage and Woman waste no time in quickly gathering the title and heading back up the aisle. Soon Magnum gets to his feet and gives chase to the back.

The challenger, Ric Flair is introduced first along with Bobby Heenan. Flair enters the ring in a glittering robe and looks to be completely focused but then the crowd erupts.

NWA World Heavyweight Champion Dusty Rhodes is introduced and comes to the ring but before he hands over the belt he says he needs to say something to Ric Flair. Flair is all ears as Rhodes says he knows Ric Flair is a world class challenger. He knows Ric Flair is as capable in the ring as anybody. But tonight, baby, Ric Flair is gonna have to do it on his own because the Dream has a “little” surprise to make sure Flair’s jackals don’t get involved. Flair looks partly annoyed and partly confused until he looks up the aisle and his eyes get wide.

The crowd goes wild as the Eighth Wonder of the World walks down to the ring, shaking Dusty’s hand from the floor and then takes a seat at ringside. Jim Ross declares that Dusty Rhodes has evened the score versus four men with only one of his own!

<b>RIC FLAIR W/BOBBY HEENAN VS DUSTY RHODES © W/ANDRE THE GIANT</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

This is a war from the start with both men laying into the other with their full arsenal. Flair gets in plenty of chops but also his usual bits, getting caught on the top and press slammed, and also flipping over the turnbuckles. Rhodes suffers a slight cut half way through the match by accident. When Flair begins to look like he’s in trouble Heenan signals to the back but as the Andersons and Blanchard who looks worse for wear come down the aisle, the Giant stands and blocks their path. All three stop in their tracks and will not test him. Cut off from his reinforcements, Flair puts up a great fight but when he goes for the figure four, Rhodes gives him a boot in the rear, sending Flair head first into the ringpost. He staggers right into a Bionic Elbow and that gets the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: DUSTY RHODES

As Flair is consoled on the outside by Heenan, Andre climbs into the ring and raises Dusty’s hand. The crowd cheers the American Dream as he climbs the turnbuckles and raises the belt high as Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross thank us for watching.

The Guerreros use their smooth tag action to control the match and it’s never in doubt. After a few minutes of back and forth tags, Hector hits the Gorybomb for the win.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: CHAVO AND HECTOR GUERRERO

Magnum T.A. joins Jim Ross in the interview area. Magnum says he’s sick to his stomach about what happened in Greensboro. He had Randy Savage down and out. He had his NWA United States Championship inches from his fingertips and then that jezebel Woman got involved and it all went away. Well Randy Savage, Magnum T.A. isn’t going away. Someday, sometime, somewhere they will meet again very very soon and when that happens he won’t be leaving with HIS title, bet on it!

<b>SAM HOUSTON VS STEVE LOMBARDI</b>

Sam Houston shows off his skills in this short match. Lombardi is a good enhancement dancing partner but he never really poses a threat and he’s flat on his back for the three count following a running bulldog.

Tony Schiavone welcomes Dick Slater to the interview area. Slater is still happy with his actions at the Great American Bash. He says Roddy Piper thought he could use him and spit him out whenever he wanted but nobody does that to Dick Slater. Piper and his little lapdog Orton seem like they want a war. Well boys if you want a war, you got one! And you’re looking at the man who will come out on top!

<b>THE JUNKYARD DOG VS TOM PRICHARD</b>

The crowd loves JYD and it’s clear it’s mutual. JYD controls the entire match using the offense and the charisma people have come to expect. When it’s time to go home he hits a standing scoop powerslam Jim Ross calls the Thump for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: THE JUNKYARD DOG

JYD comes over to his old friend Jim Ross who welcomes him officially to Jim Crockett Promotions. JYD says he couldn’t be happier to be here surrounded by the best talent in the world. He sniffs the air and says the Dog smells gold! He’s here to be a champion and pretty soon that’s what he’s gonna be!

<b>THE TONGA KID VS STEVE CASEY</b>

An okay match which is just to spotlight Tonga. His non stop high energetic offense is a contrast to Casey’s more methodical gameplan. Tonga hits a standing side kick which floors Casey, then he goes to the top and soars with an incredibly high arcing big splash that gets the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: THE TONGA KID

Jim Ross introduced the NWA Television Champion Ricky Steamboat. Steamboat says that he has a big title defense coming up in a few minutes but he wants to make a pledge. This title means the world to him and he wants to show it off every chance he can so beginning this week he will defend the title each and every Saturday right here on World Championship Wrestling!

<b>RICKY STEAMBOAT © VS DOUG SOMERS</b>

Somers does his best to win his first title here in JCP but it’s not enough as Steamboat battles back and takes the match over. Once he begins laying into Somers with martial arts chops and kicks he wears down the challenger before flying off the top with a cross body block for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA TELEVISION CHAMPION: RICKY STEAMBOAT

Tony Schiavone is joined by Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, the Andersons, and Bobby Heenan. Schiavone questions why they’re in such a good mood given the results of the Great American Bash but Heenan cuts him off and says they don’t look to the past, they look to the future and it is obvious that when you look at these four men you’re looking at the future of professional wrestling.

Tully, who is still sporting a bandage on his forehead covering what we are to suppose are stitches, says that he has no reason not to be happy. He told the world that Ted Dibiase could not beat him and at the end of the day he didn’t see Dibiase’s arm being raised.

Ole says he feels the same. They may be temporarily without their World Tag Team Championships but they did what no one in the world thought was possible and that was put the Road Warriors right on the brink. Now they know them, now they have a feel for them. Next time, it will be different.

Flair gives a wide smile and a WOOOOO before resting his hand on Schiavone’s shoulder. He asks Schiavone if he watched the Bash and asks if he saw anything out of the ordinary. Flair says he noticed a giant in Dusty Rhodes’ corner. The common man! The man of the people! He couldn’t beat Ric Flair man to man! He had to bring in a seven foot tall ringer. That’s okay, because at some point, on some day, that big giant redwood is gonna get chopped down and then Rhodes will be all alone.

Arn finishes by pointing at each of them one by one. He tells us that you have never seen a collection of individuals with the God given ability to destroy, plunder, and lay waste to mankind since biblical antiquity. As a matter of fact when you see Flair, when you see Blanchard, and Heenan and the Andersons, you might as well be looking at the living breathing four horsemen of the apocalypse. And if you don’t believe it, just wait and when you see it you better believe your eyes!

Schiavone thanks us for tuning in as the newly named Horsemen and Heenan put their hands atop on another’s in a show of unity.

Gordy is bigger, stronger, and younger than Jones. The rest is self explanatory. Gordy beats the stuffing out of Jones and ends it with a double underhook suplex.

Gordon Solie welcomes Ted Dibiase to ringside. Dibiase says that in most occasions a draw or a tie is like a loss but after his match with Tully Blanchard, when he had to wash Blanchard’s blood off of him, it still feels like a win. Now he’s putting that behind him and he’s here to collect more wins and some championships.

<b>RICK MARTEL VS PAT TANAKA</b>

A very good back and forth match where Tanaka shows off some of his talent but Martel is just too good and once he locks in the boston crab there’s nothing Tanaka can do but submit.

<b>BOB ORTON VS TIM HORNER</b>

Even without Roddy Piper in his corner, Orton is just a purebred stud in the ring. He controls the match from the opening bell and ends it with a textbook superplex off the top.

Jim Cornette begrudgingly welcomes the new NWA World Tag Team Champions the Road Warriors and their manager Paul Ellering. Ellering asks if his men kept their promise. By the belts around their waists it’s clear that they did. They went into the Great American Bash and they didn’t ask, they didn’t use their manners, they TOOK what they wanted. And now everyone better get used to this picture because it will be a long long time before anyone can take anything from them!

<b>THE ROAD WARRIORS W/PAUL ELLERING VS DENNIS STAMP AND JIMMY DEL RAY</b>

Complete domination. Animal and Hawk do whatever they want, when they want to their opponents. Jimmy Del Ray ends up on Animals shoulders and takes a big tumble, slightly awkwardly to the mat following the Doomsday Device but that is the end of that.

<b>BUDDY LANDEL VS MIKE RAPADA</b>

Landel shows off his poor man’s Flair routine in spectacular fashion, chopping Rapada, hitting knee drops, and other standard Ric Flair maneuvers before finishing the match with the figure four.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: BUDDY LANDEL

Tony Schiavone welcomes Buddy Landel to the interview area. Landel is all smiles as he places his folded cheaply made robe on the desk. He says there is nothing like the thrill of victory but before he goes much farther….

The Andersons walk out onto the set, standing on either side of Landel who nervously tries to say hello before Arn sets a heavy hand on his shoulder. Ole says that Landel is someone they have respected for his ability in the ring and they know he’s smart enough to understand that insulting the true Nature Boy, Ric Flair, is insulting the Horsemen. Landel’s eyes are big as saucers as he nods silently. Ole continues and tells him it’s because they respect him that they’re giving him this one opportunity, something a lot of people around here will not get, to pack his bags and leave. Not a month from now. Not a week from now. Not even a day from now. Right now, and they better never see him again. Landel sputters a few affirmative words and goes to reach for his robe when Arn’s other hand comes down on it like an anchor. Landel meets Arn’s eyes and retracts his own hand before quickly exiting the set.

Tony Schiavone who has been quiet for this whole scene just watches as Arn picks up the robe and the Andersons depart. Shiavone tells us that a camera is in the parking lot and we go to a live shot of Buddy Landel, still in his wrestling gear carrying a duffle bag and tossing it into the backseat of a beat down looking Volvo before getting in and speeding away. Schiavone says it appears Buddy Landel has left the building.

<b>RICKY STEAMBOAT © VS MARTY JANNETTY</b>

Steamboat and Jannetty show off great chemistry as opponents in this match which sees Jannetty get in a good amount of offense which keeps Steamboat on his toes but the champion is too much and once he grabs the momentum he doesn’t give it back.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA TELEVISION CHAMPION: RICKY STEAMBOAT

We’re taken to a pre-taped video of the Russians. Ivan says they are currently men without a country. Due to their failure at the Great American Bash Secretary Gorbechev has barred their return to Mother Russia. Their only hope is to win tag team gold. World or US Tag Team Championship, it doesn’t matter. One way or another they will become champions!

<b>RODDY PIPER VS PAUL DIAMOND</b>

Diamond surprises Piper with some early offense but Piper shuts it down with a poke to the eye and a knee to the gut. From that point it’s all Roddy and after trying to embarrass Diamond, Piper slaps on the sleeper and Diamond goes night night.

WINNER BY STOPPAGE: RODDY PIPER

Jim Ross welcomes Roddy Piper to the interview area. Piper says he heard what Dick Slater had to say but it really doesn’t matter what someone like Slater thinks. People like Piper don’t concern themselves with people like Slater unless they want advice on how to date their sister. He goes on to call Slater nothing but trash and says when he decides, he’ll take the trash out once and for all!

<b>THE FABULOUS ONES VS THE MULKEYS</b>

A relatively quick squash as Lane and Keirn dominate from bell to bell. Using quick tags and good double teams they wear down their opponents until they hit the superkick/german finisher on Randy Mulkey.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: THE FABULOUS ONES

Tony Schiavone welcomes in Tully Blanchard and Bobby Heenan. He tries to ask them about what happened earlier with the Andersons but Heenan redirects the conversation to Blanchard. Heenan says the man next to him has shown himself to be elite and yet he never gets the respect he deserves but everyone who disrespects him is actually fueling him. Next week Tully Blanchard will make a statement and it will be one nobody forgets for a long, long time!

<b>RANDY SAVAGE © W/WOMAN VS LANNY POFFO</b>

Savage dominates the match thanks to a pre-bell attack on Poffo. He hits his usual offense mixing in high flying and high energy before ending the match with the big elbow off the top.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA UNITED STATES CHAMPION: RANDY SAVAGE

Jim Ross welcomes the NWA United States Champion Randy Savage and his Woman to the interview area. Savage says he is still the NWA United States Champion just as he predicted and nobody is going to change that.

Magnum T.A. walks out and Savage instinctively puts Woman between them. Magnum says Savage is a hard man to get a hold of but now that they’re both here it’s time to settle it. Savage says he settled everything he needed to at the Great American Bash and if Magnum has a case of sour grapes well that's just too bad, too sad. Magnum tells Savage he knows he can’t beat Magnum fair and square. Savage begins to retort before he sucker punches Magnum and the fight is on. Ross quickly gets out of the way and tells us to come back next week as the two brawl as the show goes off the air.

Blanchard makes this a short match and is completely dominant in it. He shows a vicious mean streak in putting Burke on the defense from the beginning and punishing him to the full extent of the referee’s five count. When Heenan tells him it’s time, Blanchard hits the slingshot suplex for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TULLY BLANCHARD

The Rock n Roll Express comes down to ringside and is greeted by Gordon Solie. Ricky Morton says next week on World Championship Wrestling they have a big title defense and that is exactly what they want. They’re both dying for someone to step up and challenge them so they can show the world exactly what the Rock n Roll Express is all about! Robert Gibson agrees saying it doesn’t matter who it is, if you want a shot, then all you have to do is ask.

<b>THE ARMSTRONGS VS BUDDY ROBERTS AND MICHAEL HAYES</b>

Standard tag match, which slows and plods a little in the middle but when Bob Armstrong gets the tag he lays into both Roberts and Hayes. Soon Brad is back in and they hit a pair of double clotheslines. Bullet Bob hits a jawbreaker on Hayes for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: THE ARMSTRONGS

<b>JERRY LAWLER VS SHAWN MICHAELS</b>

Lawler and Michaels have a really good match but the Memphis crowd where the match takes place is obviously in the corner of the King. Lawler takes some punishment but using his veteran skills he takes control and when the strap comes down you know it’s time for business. Lawler ends Michaels’ night with a diving fist from the second rope.

WINNER BY PINFALL: JERRY LAWLER

Jim Cornette is joined by James J. Dillon and Barry Windham. Dillon says a lot of people have been questioning the man beside him after their plans at the Great American Bash didn’t go the way they wanted but the fact is, Barry Windham pushed Ricky Steamboat to the brink with a case of acute appendicitis. Cornette is highly concerned but Windham says he’s okay now. Now he’s healthy and there is nothing that can stop him from achieving his goals so everyone out there who holds a belt better realize they’re wearing a bullseye on their back and Barry Windham doesn’t miss the mark!

Rose gives Hernandez a challenge in his first title defense and gets a few close falls but Hernandez battles back, stunning Rose with a few right hands and a standing dropkick. Feeling the energy of the crowd, Hernandez scoop slams Rose and when he’s about to get up, Gino hits the Deposit for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA CENTRAL CHAMPION: GINO HERNANDEZ

Gordon Solie introduces us to Superstar Billy Graham for a very special announcement. Solie leaves the ring as Graham says in 1969 he never thought he’d achieve what he has. He never thought he’d go all around the world. He never thought he’d touch so many people but the truth is the people touched him. The people made Superstar Billy Graham the man he became and that is why it is so difficult to tell the people what he has to say. Before he can go on, a bleached blond man walks up the steps to the ring.

He berates Graham for wasting everyone’s time. How pathetic is Graham that he needs to slip into the spotlight one last time instead of slinking off into the shadows like a dog when they know they’re going to die. Graham gets very angry and grabs the man by his sequined lapel. The distraction is enough for Graham to not see the huge man who climbs into the ring.

This unknown slams a forearm into Graham’s back which causes him to let go of the loudmouth. Graham is whipped into the ropes and when he rebounds he catches a large boot to the face. Finally the man pulls Graham up and positions Graham’s left arm so it’s behind his own head before delivering a heart punch. Graham drops to the mat, convulsing as Solie, who has been calling the action of this attack, calls for medical help. The man stares down at Graham with hatred in his eyes as the blonde loudmouth points and screams ‘I told you so.”

As medical help arrives and attends to Graham the show comes to an end.

The Tonga Kid is all smiles following his victory but as soon as he hops over the top rope to the floor he’s blindsided by Tully Blanchard. Blanchard looks enraged as he slams Tonga’s face off the ring post. As the crowd jeers and cries out for help Blanchard keeps up the attacks. Tonga looks like he can barely stand but Blanchard takes care of that. He delivers a piledriver onto the concrete floor surrounding the ring. Officials rush in as Blanchard glares at the camera asking if they got that.

Steamboat is impressive in his title defense, staying two steps ahead of his challenger in every aspect and soon he soars to the crowd’s delight, connecting with a crossbody block from the top for the win.

Tony Schiavone welcomes Ric Flair and Bobby Heenan. Flair cracks some jokes about Tully’s previous attack saying this sends the message; anyone, anytime, anyplace. The Horsemen do what they want to do. And now it swings back around to what he’s missing and that is HIS title. Flair says he will never stop even when Dusty Rhodes wants to take a few weeks off to go down to his broken down farm for his rotten kid’s first birthday. Well, Flair has a plan, and you know the best part? Rhodes will never see them coming. He and Heenan share another laugh as they walk away.

<b>BOB AND BRAD ARMSTRONG VS NIKITA KOLOFF AND KRUSHER KHRUSCHEV W/IVAN KOLOFF</b>

Father and son put up a valiant fight but they’re out-muscled and the more the Russians hammer them into oblivion the lesser their chances for victory. When Brad gets hit with the Russian Sickle it’s all elementary.

Tony Schiavone welcomes Magnum T.A. to the interview area. Magnum says he finds it funny that someone who calls himself the Macho Man hides behind a woman when the going gets tough. And if it wasn't for that woman, Magnum would be out here as the NWA United States Champion. Well he's on the hunt and Randy Savage can't hide behind her skirt forever. Sooner or later it's gonna be man versus man and Savage can't win that fight versus Magnum T.A.!

Dr. Death makes short work of Ware, dominating him with powerful suplexes before he ends the match with the Ura nage.

The champs celebrate their victory but a few moments later a sexy young girl walks up the steps to the ring garnering their attention.

Missy, Jimmy Garvin's valet looks excited and starry-eyed but in reality Ricky and Robert have turned their backs to the two men quickly running down to the ring.

Jimmy Garvin and Rick Rude hit the ring and attack from behind. The champs are caught flat footed and quickly are overwhelmed. As Garvin delivers a brainbuster to Ricky Morton, Rude gets Gibson in position for a Rude Awakening, gyrating his hips before dropping Robert. This new team has debuted with force as Missy raises both of their arms before Rude plants a long kiss as the show ends.

Roberts dominates his opponent with a sadistic glee. With the Stallion flat on his back, Roberts crawls towards him like a cobra ready to strike, toying with him. When Roberts appears to grow bored, he ends it with the DDT.

After the match Gordon Solie meets Roberts at ringside. Roberts says he’s happy with the victory but something is missing. After a moment he snaps his fingers and tells Gordon he knows what it is. Fear. People aren’t giving him the respect of their fear but he knows how to change that. Roberts smiles cruelly and reminds Solie to trust him.

<b>RICK MARTEL VS MIKE JONES</b>

Martel is in full control in this one showing off all his athletic prowess. Jones gets in very little offense and eventually submits when Martel locks in the Boston Crab.

<b>BRUISER BRODY VS PAT TANAKA</b>

Ugly and quick. Brody dominates Tanaka, swatting away any attempts to do harm. Tanaka eats a big boot to the face before Brody bounds off the ropes and hits a running knee drop for the win.

Jim Cornette is ringside and introduces two of the newest faces on the scene. Percy Pringle III and Mean Mark Callous.

Pringle thanks him for the warm welcome but he says the only welcome the wrestlers around here are going to get from them is the same one Billy Graham got. A message that goes...straight to the heat. Pringle cackles with glee at his pun as Callous just stares menacingly.

DeBeers lays into Jones before the bell rings then wears him down throughout the match. DeBeers is cruel in his methodical attacks, specifically focusing on the lower back. When he’s got Jones flat on his face he puts him in a camel clutch which is referred to as the WMB. Jones has no alternative but to submit.

Blanchard warned that he was going to send a message but it looks like he didn’t send it clear enough. There are still people in that locker room who think they’re better than him. Who think they can lace his boots or hold his jock. Well Tully Blanchard has many virtues and one of them is patience. But his patience is wearing thin. Someone else is going to learn the lesson and he hopes everyone pays attention!

Magnum shows a fire seldom seen in his matches. He hits all his usual offense but delivers not one, but two belly to belly suplexes and stares at the camera with intensity as he makes the cover. Ross comments it’s not hard to imagine who he’s staring at, indicating the NWA United States Champion Macho Man Randy Savage.

Rude took some personal time for himself...and the ladies but now he’s back and when he looked around he saw someone like Jimmy Garvin who is a perfect partner for him. Garvin enthusiastically agrees. He’s gorgeous, Rude is ravishing and Missy...well we know what Missy is! Together they’re unbeatable and together they’re the next NWA United States Tag Team Champions!

Steamboat and Michaels have a great match of back and forth action. Michaels has really come into his own over the last several months when given the chance to work with top talent. However Michaels’ inexperience comes into play when misses a running knee in the corner. Steamboat goes to work and soon ends it with his cross body block off the top.

Windham is dominant and doesn’t give South any openings for offense. With Dillon looking confidant on the outside, Windham shows off his athletic gifts before sizing up his opponent and ending things with a running lariat.

Tony Schiavone welcomes the Four Horsemen and their manager Bobby Heenan to the interview area. They are all in great moods. Flair tells Schiavone they have a world exclusive video, specifically for the Jim Crockett Promotions audience. He tells whoever is running the show to play it.

It’s a home movie recorded on a camcorder. It’s a child’s first birthday party and there is a large group of family and friends there to celebrate. We see NWA World Champion Dusty Rhodes sitting at a table with whom we instantly recognize as his long time friends Dory Jr and Terry Funk. Everyone is having a great time but Terry is trying to get Dusty’s attention and talk to him. He’s asking Dusty when he or Dory will get a title shot. Dusty is polite but he’s focused on the task at hand, not work. Terry is persistent, nearly begging Dusty to acknowledge him, saying as the champion it’s a 24/7 job. Both of the Funks have been there and done that and they know you don’t take time for family and you don’t ignore your friends. Dusty tells Terry they can talk later but Dory lightly puts his hand on Dusty’s nearest Arm. Dusty looks to Dory and that is when Terry jumps up and clotheslines Dusty in his chair. Terry is on top of the champion, raining right hands down on the stunned Rhodes as the women assembled cry out in disbelief. When Terry gets up he and his brother both begin stomping Rhodes. Dusty’s older son, looking to be about seventeen years old tries to help his dad but Terry throws him onto a couch. Dory lays in one more stiff kick before telling him that “friendship don’t pay the bills” and that Ric Flair says hello. As Dory storms out Terry turns and takes the camcorder away from the person who’s been videoing all of this and follows his brother.

When we’re back in the studio all of the horsemen have party hats on, even Ole. Flair says it’s party time! He says he told Dusty that he would never stop. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the ring, or in your home, they will always find him and they will never stop until they get what they want. Wooooo!

He turns on a dime and runs after Blair who’s slowly making his way up the aisle, blasting him with a forearm from behind. Blanchard delivers several stomps, kicks, and knee drops before picking Blair up and delivering a piledriver on the concrete. Blanchard just grins at what he’s done as officials hurry to assist Blair.

<b>TERRY GORDY VS LANNY POFFO</b>

You almost feel bad for Poffo as he takes a non stop beating from Gordy who is just on fire as soon as the match begins. When Poffo is all but laid out, Gordy delivers a running leg drop for the win.

<b>KERRY VON ERICH VS MICHAEL HAYES</b>

A tremendous battle between old rivals. Each man gets in a good amount of offense but Von Erich turns it on near the end and when he catches Hayes with his father’s patented iron claw, Hayes has no option but to give up.

For a change, Roddy Piper and Bob Orton are in the ring with two barstools on a large red plaid carpet. In between them is a coffin with a confederate flag emblazoned on it. Piper says that they’re here today to pay their respects to the career of Dick Slater. He was not a tough guy, a good wrestler, a good lover, a good friend, and he was not the sharpest tool in the shed but boy could he take a whippin! Unfortunately for him, he ran into two of the toughest, best wrestlers, lovers, and brainiacs in the world and that’s why his career is now ended. The only thing left is to give him the proper send off. Piper kicks the side of the coffin, sending it toppling onto the mat. He angrily grabs the mic and says Dick Slater is a dead man as the show goes off the air.

Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross welcome us to this week’s episode of World Championship Wrestling but they’re interrupted by the American Dream Dusty Rhodes. He apologizes for barging in but that is what happened to him and his family. Two men he thought were his friends barged into his home and ambushed him, bought and paid for by Ric Flair. Well he’s not going anywhere and he knows Flair isn’t here yet but at the end of this show he will call Flair out man to man!

Tony Schiavone and Dusty Rhodes are alone in the interview area but not for long as the entire Four Horsemen come to meet them. Dusty and Flair are nose to nose and Flair wears a wide grin. Rhodes says everything that is to come, all the brutality, all the pain, all of it, will be because of Ric Flair’s vanity. In a month’s time we will have an event here on TBS, live baby from the Superdome in New Orleans, one of his favorite cities. And at that event Dusty Rhodes will meet Ric Flair one more time for the biggest prize in professional wrestling. And Dusty doesn’t care how many jackals Flair has in corner. This is about honor. This is about a father’s desire to avenge his family. Ric Flair you might think you got what you wanted but baby, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

The Andersons and Tully take a few steps to advance on Dusty but Flair puts his arms out to block them while never taking his eyes off Dusty’s. Flair nods slowly and the Horsemen leave a still angry Rhodes as Shiavone tells us to come back next week.
