December 2019 Draft Hype/Signup Thread

Yeah but like I said Khan would simply have not gone. He's a pure owner and people tend to save picks by picking Owner/Booker options. He's got great owner skills (100) so he's not a dud pick but it's pretty early for him and if I look at your first 10 picks it's the only one anyone would have an issue with. The other picks are perfect for a British fed and the Network is just free money. In Khan's case you effectively passed up Marty Scrull, Nick Aldis, Nigel McGuiness and a few good workers who are able to be picked in the first 10 rnds by a Brit fed (some I wont mention because they haven't been picked yet) all of who could have been picked whilst Khan sat there for you to pick up 10 rnds later.

Draft Analysis

So the first 1/2 of the draft has come and gone and the feds have started to evolve as they fill up their midcards - how did rnd 11 - 20 change things.

LU: Well there's no doubt of their Lucha cred now. A really solid set of picks including the almost too perfect for the concept Velveteen Dream. The inexplicable Rey blindness did surprise me. I know he's small but not invisible.

SHINE: Good solid set of picks including Toni Storm but how both women's feds dropped the ball on not taking Rhea Ripley is somewhat perplexing. GLOW went for better workers on the whole while SHINE got some quality staff.

PROGRESS: Must of been ecstatic that Ishii somehow avoided 30 picks in Japan to fall to them. Tyler Bate is a good long term option.

IMPACT: Kofi Kingston in rnd 14 is officially the steal of the draft. Picked up a ton of great tag teams too. One of these things is not like the others though KC Spinelli seems a stretch rnd 16.

AEW : Talking of picking up great Tag teams AEW is stacked. Miz in rnd 15 is just behind Kofi in terms of steals.

Wrestle-1: You kind of have to judge the 3 Japanese feds in comparison to each other and YAMATO and the other picks are all fine but when you look at the other two feds they may have got slightly the worse of the deal - it's really hard to say that though, they made good picks just maybe not as compelling ones as the other 2 feds. FMW got two steals and BWF picked up free money so they just edge Wrestle-1.

GLOW: Fuka is a good announcer, picked up some good workers like Kong, Mickie and Cheerleader Melissa who always seems to be forgotten by womens feds but is one of the best workers. Like Shine missed Rhea Ripley which is a loss.

BWF: 9 letters - NJPW World. Realised that free money was lying around and picked it up rnd 19. KUSHIDA, Ashino, EVIL were all good pick-ups too. Just edges the other two Japanese feds in the 11 through 20 picks thanks to the money grab

Defiant: Already had CM Punk and then drafted both Matt Hardy & Paul London … then added Ryan Reeves and JBL and Corey Graves … good luck with that. It's now the fed most likely to have a bitter backstage feud in the first 3 months of the game. They have 3 good Colour guys and no announcer. Picked up some decent Women given the 2 womens feds had hoovered up a lot of the better known talent.

FMW: Wasn't really doing anything too special until they realised Marufuji and Rey were still on the board and snatched them up in rnds 18 and 19. SHO & YOH and Sekimoto were solid picks too. BWF won the 11 to 20 thanks to the free money grab but Rey and Marufuji means that even though they are relatively short term options (given their age) FMW probably picked up the best in ring talent of any of the Japanese feds in this period. How LU missed Rey will probably never be explained.

Oh and since it's after 12 here - Merry X-Mas all.

Great guy but his head health is about 55 and some of the others are down too. It's fine to role the dice with that pick but post head injury he's not the slam dunk first 5 rnd pick he once was.

If you put lower card guys in matches and promo wars with him they will both get better and get pop. He'll totally elevate your mid-card just by interacting with them.

Spinelli was just on there because I need some Knockouts and uhh... so far I haven't really done a great job of drafting them.

Yeah i kind of goofed on the 3 colours, I thought at least Nigel would of been able to be a road agent, kinda overlooked that. But it's okay, I think i'm gonna make him my Owner. And my announcer was waiting. Hardy i'm gonna push as a single's competitor, while having JBL and Corey on Colour.

Only Corey and Punk are known to be negative influences. I do plan on picking up some younger talent now. And how does this network thing work? Didn't realize we could pick those up, or at least how.

You can only draft subscription serves already in the game, like WWE Network or NJPW World. Once you draft that, you automatically get a TV show slot and a PPV slot on that network.

Okay I got Tardelli's news - I will make the rest of his picks but forgive me if I am disorganised with them as I don't have a list and have to go by feel.

Uncrewed I will send a request to update the spreadsheet now.

Okay lets take Michael Cole & Daniel Cormier to give us a good announce team who wont retire 2morrow

Announcement

New alliance formed: between BWF and FMW: SWORD

Real

After initially rejecting the idea of joining any kind of alliance, the new management of Bushiroad has reconsidered their original stance. "FMW wasn't the first promotion to approach us" owner Kenta Kobashi commented, "and we rejected their offer as well, thinking that to stay true to ourselves, we needed to stand alone. In short time however we have seen the landscape of wrestling change around us, and even if we stand firmly rooted in tradition, tradition can also mean shackles to a certain damaging ways of thinking, and if we can't change we will be doomed. It is my ambition to break free from what Bushiroad once was. And with those ambitions, no partner could be a better fit than FMW. "

(the alliance is a trade partnership)
