We head right to the ring. Road Warrior Hawk makes his entrance to the ring to a good pop. Jeff Jarrett to face Hawk, and he has a microphone. “It’s time to give the fans who they really want to see!” The crowd boos, Jarrett takes some shots at the Montreal crowd and makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the evening. Rating: 43 In a decent match, Road Warrior Hawk defeated Jeff Jarrett in 12:04 by pinfall with a Flying Lariat. Rating: 66 Now backstage, we see Mankind enter Vince McMahon’s office, Mankind says that to have a match tonight would be unfair, he is feeling under the weather tonight. He doesn’t feel up to take on the team of Undertaker and HHH. Vince tells him to stop complaining and that the match will happen, he tells Mankind to make his way to the ring, his match is next. Rating: 86 In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Triple H and The Undertaker defeated Mankind and Dustin Runnels in 10:18 when The Undertaker defeated Dustin Runnels by pinfall with a Tombstone. We see Billy Gunn and Owen Hart getting ready in their backstage locker rooms. Their match is next. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Owen Hart defeated Billy Gunn in 4:02 by submission with a Sharpshooter. Hart came out of this match looking quite impressive. Rating: 79 Steve Austin appears on the TItantron, where he is asked by Michael Cole how he feels about the chances of he and Shamrock getting the victory over Kane and The Rock later tonight. He responds by calling out both The Rock and Kane. He lets them know they are not prepared for what Stone Cold is going to bring when he gets in the ring with them. Rating: 100 Time for the Main Event. In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Ken Shamrock and Steve Austin defeated Kane and The Rock in 17:44 when Steve Austin defeated Kane by pinfall with a Stunner. Rating: 87 Post match; Austin and Shamrock are in the ring celebrating when Kane rises, he chokeslams both Austin and Shamrock leaving them down in the ring. The Rock joins in on the beatdown. The time has been extended to 2 hours and 30 minutes. This is big news as the WWF continues to try to gain an edge over national competitor WCW. This Week's Shotgun Saturday Night: Scorpio vs Dennis Knight Too Much vs Kama Mustafa & Savio Vega Road Dogg vs Dustin Runnels Road Warrior Animal vs Marc Mero Billy Gunn vs Owen Hart The Undertaker vs Mankind A big main event in the first show since the new deal, Whether this new deal will be a success remains to be seen. We have a big show this week with Undertaker taking on Mankind in tonight’s main event! Plus exclusive footage of what went down last Monday on RAW after the show went off air! Mankind enters the ring and grabs a microphone. Mankind tells the fans that Undertaker is no match for him tonight. The Undertaker enters the ring. He brings up his win in the tag match this past week on RAW. The two come face to face promising to kick each other’s ass. Expect sparks to fly when these two meet 1 on 1 later tonight! Rating: 92 To our first match of the night, and what will forever be the first match of the new broadcast deal, With Scorpio taking on Dennis Knight. In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Dennis Knight defeated Scorpio in 7:48 by pinfall with an Eye Opener. It should be noted Knight got the pin with feet on the ropes for leverage. Rating: 65 Triple H comes on the Titantron. He announces he will be holding an open challenge for the WWF European title this week on Raw. Rating: 65 We go to the ring for Tag Team action Too Much vs Kama Mustafa & D’Lo Brown In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Kama Mustafa and D'Lo Brown defeated Too Much in 2:45 when D'Lo Brown defeated Scott Taylor by pinfall with a Low Down. Rating: 57 Road Dogg and Billy Gunn are asked about their singles matches tonight. With Road Dogg taking on Dustin Runnels and Billy Gunn looking to get revenge on Owen Hart after a loss on Raw this past Monday. They both seem confident on their chances of winning. They tell the crowd they look forward to heading out on the town tonight to celebrate their victories. Out of nowhere The New Midnight Express charge into the locker room and start to attack them. A brawl ensues with the Outlaws looking to get the better of the exchange. Will this affect either of their performances tonight? Road Dogg is in action next. Rating: 55 Road Dogg vs Dustin Runnels In a decent match, Road Dogg defeated Dustin Runnels in 8:48 by pinfall with a Piledriver. The damage done by The New Midnight Express wasn’t enough to stop Road Dogg tonight. Road Warrior Animal vs Marc Mero In a decent match, Road Warrior Animal defeated Marc Mero in 13:38 by pinfall with a Top Rope Powerslam. These two put on a back and forth match. After the match Animal went for a handshake as a show of respect to Mero, However Mero uses the opportunity to get some shots in on Animal, Hawk runs to the ring and clears the ring of Mero as the L.O.D. celebrate together in ring. Rating: 61 A video plays on the Titantron showing the highlights from the main event of Raw. The post match attack by Kane and Rock is also shown. JR explains the following footage is from after RAW went off air. We see a beaten Stone Cold and Shamrock in the ring. As the two make their way to their feet, Shamrock begins to have some words for Austin, Leading to a back and forth shoving match in the ring before they exit separately. We are not sure what was said but are pretty sure it had to do with the post-match beatdown. Rating: 100 Billy Gunn vs Owen Hart Billy Gunn looks to get revenge here after Owen beat him on Monday Night. He would however come up short again. In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Owen Hart defeated Billy Gunn in 16:36 by submission with a Sharpshooter. Rating: 79 The Undertaker vs Mankind A wildly contested brawl between the two. In an exceptional match, Mankind defeated The Undertaker in 20:36 by pinfall with a Piledriver. Rating: 76 As we are signing off here on Shotgun Saturday Night, The Deadman rises and makes his way after Mankind up the ramp, the two continue to fight into the backstage area as we go off-air. Scott Taylor vs D’Lo Brown In a poor match, D'Lo Brown defeated Scott Taylor in 10:13 by pinfall with a Low Down. D’Lo gets the win here after the referee went down and Taylor took a chairshot to the back from D’Lo, followed by a Low Down. After the match D’Lo continued the beatdown before Brian Christopher came to the aid of his tag team partner. Rating: 55 A hype video of Val Venis plays. Showing match highlights and video of him training backstage. Rating:49 Legion of Doom vs Marc Mero and Dustin Runnels In a decent match, LOD 2000 defeated Marc Mero and Dustin Runnels in 8:39 when Road Warrior Animal defeated Marc Mero by pinfall with a Doomsday Device. Rating: 76 After the match we catch up with LOD backstage. They say people should take notice to the roll they’ve been on both in tag and singles competition, they promise they are just going to get better and will be coming for the tag titles. Rating: 84 Triple H enters the ring accompanied by Chyna and Road Dogg. He promised to make an open challenge and defend his European Championship tonight on RAW. The members of DX wait in the ring for someone to answer the call. Owen Hart’s music hits and he makes his way out to the stage. Triple H looks ready. Their match next. Rating:84 WWF European Championship Match Triple H © vs Owen Hart In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Triple H defeated Owen Hart in 21:26 by pinfall with a Pedigree. Triple H makes defence number 1 of his WWF European title. A big win for HHH winning his open challenge and successfully defending his title. Rating: 81 The Rock cuts a pre-match promo before the main event. Rating: 75 Billy Gunn, Steve Austin & The Undertaker vs Kane, Mankind & The Rock In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Billy Gunn, Steve Austin and The Undertaker defeated Kane, Mankind and The Rock in 17:40 when Steve Austin defeated Kane by pinfall with a Stunner. Rating: 48 Savio Vega is interviewed backstage before his match against Mosh. Rating:48 Mosh vs Savio Vega In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Mosh defeated Savio Vega in 9:38 by pinfall with a Mosh Pit. Rating: 58 Mosh is interviewed post-match. He says The Headbangers are ready to make a run at the Tag Titles.
