rodrigoviolim Posted April 13, 2020 Author Share Posted April 13, 2020 <img src=https://i.imgur.com/gWXe3fj.jpg> PFL ANNOUNCES GP HEAVYWEIGHT, FEATHERWEIGHT AND 10 DIVISIONS FOR SEASON 2022 The 2022 season of the Professional Fighters League begins to be planned and announces its first news for next year. In an announcement during a press conference, Peter Murray CEO of PFL, announced that next season will have ten weight divisions, four of which are new, and two grand prix, one for Heavyweight and the other for Featherweight. Murray began by announcing the four new divisions that will be part of the 2022 season. According to unified MMA rules, Cruiserweight (230-206 lbs), Super Middleweight (195-186 lbs), Super Welterweight (175-171 lbs) and Super Lightweight (165-156 lbs) will be the new men's divisions that will be added to the official PFL divisions. The season will also feature Light Heavyweight, Bantamweight and Flyweight completing the men's divisions. The women's divisions will be Featherweight, Bantamweight and Strawweight. All divisions will have 12 participants and other reserve fights will take place during the 'Fight Night' and in case any fighter is unable to continue in the competition the reserve will enter the slot. The Heavyweights and Featherweights GP´s will have 28 participants with 3 phases during the dispute until reaching the final event with semi-finals and finals in the same event. The start of the season and the GPs and the fighters who will participate in the competitions will be announced in the first week of 2022 at a press conference. On Wednesday, blurcat.com first reported that Anthony Pettis (23-12, 1-1 in PFL) has been forced to withdraw from his lightweight scrap with Chris Wade due a rib injury. Additionally, on Thursday, blurcat.com reported that Raoni Barcelos (17-3, 1-1 in PFL) will not be competing in bantamweight fight against Jimmie Rivera due a back injury. The promotion to replace them, former KSW and PLMMA Lightweight champion Mateusz Gamrot faces Wade and Sean O´Malley, will replace Barcelos and face Rivera. Gamrot has 1-1 in the PFL and in his last fight for the promotion based in Las Vegas, he overcame Colin Fletcher in March this year. O´Malley is undefeated in MMA, and will debut in PSL. Ben Askren-Stephen Thompson have fought twice before, with Ben Askren ahead 2-0. His fight against Vladmir Mineev has therefore automatically been registered as a No-Contest and, perhaps more importantly, he is now banned for a mandatory a one year period Theodorou has denied any wrong-doing prior to his bout with Vladimir Mineev, writes Victor Love. He claims that his drug test failure (for PED´s) was the result of a lab mix-up, and that suspension is unwarranted as he was not using any ilegal substances at all -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PFL WILL MAKE FIRST CARD IN CHINA The PFL officially announced its first card in China on its social media. Blurcat.com was first to report the change to the women´s strawweight contest. PFL Fight Night 19 will take place at Cadillac Arena in Beijing, China on November 12 and is headlined by a flyweight duel between Wilson Reis and Adriano Morais. Taylor has lost three of his last four appearances. Most recently, the 32-year-old Saekson´s Muay Thai Team representative suffered a second-round submission loss to Maryna Moroz at PFL Fight Night 4 this past July. Taylor is 0-1 in the PFL and 10-6 as a professional overall. Yan has five consecutive wins and has not lost since September 2010. She will make her debut for the PFL.
