maxicheezestick
What if Pride really never died? In this alternate reality mod, starting in April 2009, Pride was never bought out by the UFC. Pride continued to run as its own promotion and held a Lightweight Grand Prix in 2007 as well as a Super Heavyweight "Monster Grand Prix" in 2008. Dream was never opened as the owners of K-1 instead became investors in Pride giving them some financial backing that was desperately needed and World Victory Road was never opened as since Pride never closed, there was no need for them to fill. Pride has also started making more moves toward American expansion as they held 4 events in America (3 in Vegas and 1 in California) in 2007 and they added a 5th show in 2008 when they made their debut in Chicago, in a co-promotion with Strikeforce. Speaking of co-promotion with Strikeforce, the partnership has led to rumors and call-outs between fighters in each promotion. Rumors are swirling about a possible Alistair Overeem vs. Fedor Emelianenko Champion vs. Champion fight as well as a return to Pride for Nick Diaz, though neither of these rumors have been confirmed. maxicheezestick
On board, I cant wait to play this. Is it going to be updated with most of the current fighters? There will be a good amount of current day fighters in the mod. It’s based off of a 2009 mod that Tag had made and that I have since updated. You can take a look through it and let me know if there is anyone you think needs to be added. http://www.mediafire.com/file/a785044026rmdaw/2009.zip/file

Munit
Is this updated with all the new fighters to debut over the years? I love this era but want a lot of these new age fighters
LightningLynx89
I'd be interested to see who PRIDE has picked up within the past three years. What Heavyweights or Middleweights have gone. Or where the big stars of PRIDE are now. Does Fedor continue his reign of domination in the Heavyweights? With Cro Cop still in PRIDE he may have never lost his mojo like he did in the UFC. maxicheezestick
Hi everybody, The mod is coming along nicely. The rosters and events are about half-way done. I figured I should fill you all in on what has happened between 2007 and 2009 so you'll be seeing sort of a running diary of events and stories that have taken place. April 2007: Pride FC has announced the rest of their schedule for 2007 as well as a Lightweight Grand Prix that will start in May. Pride's 2007 schedule looks like this (this is actually what they were planning on doing in real-life according to Sakakibara): Late April-Vegas-Pride 35 Late May-Osaka-Total Elimination 2007 Late June-California-Pride 36 Late July-Nagoya-Critical Countdown 2007 Late August-Osaka-Pride 37 Late September-Saitama-Final Conflict 2007 Late October-Vegas-Pride 38 Late December-Saitama-Shockwave 2007 The competitors for the Lightweight Grand Prix were also announced: Andre Amade, Eddie Alvarez, Shinya Aoki, Koutetsu Boku, Jung Bu-Kyung, Gesias Calvancante, Luiz Firmino, Kultar Gill, Joachim Hansen, Mitsuhiro Ishida, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Gilbert Melendez, Kazuyuki Miyata, Katsuhiko Nagata, Artur Oumakhanov, and Caol Uno. The first round match-ups are to be announced shortly.

maxicheezestick
Breaking News: K-1 invests in PRIDE. Hero's series ends. April 15, 2007 In shocking news, it is being reported that K-1 has invested in PRIDE Fighting Championships and has seemingly given them a financial safety-net. The investment also means that Hero's, K-1's own MMA promotion will be ceasing operations and their roster will combine with PRIDE's. As you may recall, K-1 and PRIDE had a working relationship in the early days of PRIDE with many K-1 fighters eventually testing themselves in MMA. The promotions also set the all-time MMA attendance record of 91,107 in 2002 for the joint-promoted PRIDE Shockwave/K-1 Dynamite event. This means that the MMA debut of K-1 kickboxing veteran Cung Le will now take place at PRIDE 35 at the end of the month. Pro Wrestling mega-star Brock Lesnar has also been in negotiations with K-1 in regards to his MMA debut and it is expected that those talks will now continue with PRIDE. K-1 had also scheduled a rematch between Royce Gracie and Kazushi Sakuraba. That fight is also now scheduled to take place at PRIDE 35. *Creators Note: Hey everyone, I have finished booking all of the events but I want you all to be caught up with what has happened in the game world before I release the beta for the mod. You'll be seeing a bunch of posts that will fill you in on events and happenings that have taken place in a world where Pride did not shut down. Hope you all enjoy. maxicheezestick
Still dying for a release. Any timeframe in mind? I'll be putting out a beta version soon. I have all the events done and the rosters are almost done as well. The beta should be completely playable as it is this mod is based off the 2009 community mod. I will be adding in more current-day fighters in the fully released mod and fixing any issues people see in the beta. So if having current-day fighters in the game isn't a big issue for some, they can play the beta version. I'm also playing a game right now just to test the mod and see if I notice any mistakes or anything that needs to be fixed. I will be posting updates for what has happened in the lead up to 2009 so everyone knows what has happened. Once those are done I will release the beta. I would estimate the beta should be out in two weeks or so and the full release not long after that.
