  • Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis and the Confederation of the Territories have announced that Philippe LaGrenier has been stripped of his third of the World Six-Man Championships. He will be replaced by Davis Wayne Newton, the newest member of the Canadian Blonds. Mr. LaGrenier terminated his own agreement with CWI and the COTT, feeling Mr. LaGrenier exhibited conduct unbecoming of a COTT Champion and wrestler have also suspended him from COTT sanctioned action for sixty days.

  • Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis has also officially announced the launch of No Ordinary Men Academy of Pro Wrestling, the first school of pro wrestling in the Great Lakes area. The school is expected to produce its first graduating class in December of 2022 and is currently accepting applications. Enrollment will be finalized just after Thanksgiving Turmoil,so if you have ever wanted to be a professional wrestler and live in the Indianapolis area, now is the time to pursue your dreams.

  • Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis can officially announce the signing of "The Rock" Robin DaLay to an ongoing agreement. The 24-year-old DaLay has been a professional wrestler for five years. He spent the first year and a half of his career wrestling for Canadian Golden Combat before joining the nascient Canadian Wrestling Alliance upon its founding. DaLay is the son of Canadian wrestling legend Dan DaLay and has been a bright prospect in the Canadian wrestling scene. CWI officials are said to be ecstatic with the signing of DaLay. The heavyweight brawler recently finished his final dates with CWA and should be making his Indianapolis debut soon.

  • Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis can also officially announce the signing of hot women's prospect Lucy Stone-McFly to a two-year contract. The 19 year old Stone-McFly made her professional debut in September of this year and was quickly signed by COTT member Canadian Women's Wrestling Federation and Canadian company Ultimate Combat Wrestling. She has already become the UCW Women's Champion -- having won the championship at the end of October. Lucy Stone-McFly is the daughter of legendary wrestlers Victoria Stone and Sean McFly and is said to be a can't-miss prospect. CWI officials jumped at the opportunity to lock her into a two-year commitment and she is expected to start in December -- she has a scheduling conflict that will prevent her from appearing at Thanksgiving Turmoil.

  • Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis can also announce that starting January of 2022, they will be presenting monthly shows from Bloomington and Edinburgh, Indiana. Both towns have seen spot shows over the course of 2021 that were very well received and deals were negotiated to make those monthly shows. They will continue to be smaller spot shows and will not see major stars on them, but they will be a valuable place as CWI continues to develop its young talent as well as give new talent a place to try out.

  • Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis can also officially announce that former four-time DAVE Tag Team Champion, former five-time TCW World Tag Team Champion and former TCW International Champion, One Man Army, has signed on to be a member of the CWI roster. One Man Army, better known to wrestling fans as Guide, has been on the national radar for twenty years and brings all of that experience to the table. He will surely be looking to make an impact and continue his very successful career.

  • Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis is said to be in deep negotiations with three more talents that could bolster the roster and bring name value, youth, and potential onto the roster. More as those situations develop.

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis was in action in Ft. Wayne, Indiana -- it's furthest trip away from its homebase to date. The show continued the trend of well received spotshows. The results were as follows:

In the opening contest, The Player's Club rebounded from their loss at Showdown in Naptown with a victory over Lance Austin and Lance Whitworth.

That was followed up by Meryl Lavoie getting a much needed victory when she defeated Sylvia Dugal.

Yvonne Ericks got a victory when she beat Frances Harris.

In the semi final contest, Joy Ryder defeated Alma Crockett.

The main event saw Bear Barnes take out his frustration over his loss to Nate DeMarcus with a convincing win over Joseph Chang.

Saturday Week 4, November 2021

Live from the Fountain Square Theatre [indianapolis, Indiana, Great Lakes, USA]

82 people in attendance (no change in fans from last show)

Commentators: Marv Earnest & Mark Hyatt

qSIrNZu.jpg?1aO4dY56.jpg

Earnest, “Hello and welcome to another exciting night of Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis action back here at the Fountain Square Theatre. We are coming to you with the second annual Thanksgiving Turmoil event and what a night it will be. Before we get into billboarding the show for you, I’m joined tonight as always, by one of the real turkey’s of professional wrestling, Mark Hyatt.

Hyatt, “If by turkey you mean rare and majestic creature that most people don’t properly understand, I’ll take that compliment, Marv. I wish I could say it was a pleasure to be here, but I’m upset tonight, Marv.”

Earnest, “Why are you upset?”

Hyatt, “Because in just a couple of hours, I’ll have already seen American Ambition and the Dog Soldiers all get embarrassed with losses! Oh I can’t wait to see all of them finally get what is coming to them!”

Earnest, “Oh come on. That’s ridiculous, Mark. But both teams are in action in separate Turmoil Matches. Turmoil matches are eight-person tag team matches. Elimination rules. First team to be eliminated loses. Each survivor gets a $100 dollar bonus for surviving. We have three of those matches tonight, plus Pepper Pelton steps into the ring with former TCW wrestler Harvey Robbinfield with the Indiana Heavyweight Championship on the line. Former COT World Tag Team Champions, the Boys from the Yukon are here in Indianapolis and they are looking to become CWI Tag Team Champions when they square off with Bred for Battle in what is sure to be an ultra physical match up and in our main event, “Mr. Submission” Al Coleman is here and looks to be the man to dethrone The Hangman from the top spot as Mid American Champion. There is so much action scheduled for tonight, Mark are you ready?”

Hyatt, “Oh I’m ready Marv. I’m ready for a night we will never forget! Let’s go ringside to Steffi Chee so we can get this whole thing started!”

American Ambition & Hank Gunn versus Funky Fedora, Rafe Sashay, & The Player's Club w/ Lucinda Lush

The opening contest of the night was also the first of three Turmoil matches scheduled for the event. This match was packed with stars -- all three members of American Ambition are established stars and were looking to get some positive momentum going. Nate DeMarcus scored a win last month and was looking to build off of that with a strong performance here and the young Hank Gunn was looking to get some momentum going himself against the debuting Funky Fedora -- who wanted to debut strongly, the talented but perhaps overly arrogant Rafe Sashay, and The Player’s club. This was a perfect way to start the show. The crowd was into everything going on in the match. Hank Gunn and Rafe Sashay started the match off with one another. Sashay strutted around the ring and he and Gunn had a simple back and forth exchange that allowed both men to show some skills and some promise. Sashay went for his Forward Russian Legsweep, but Gunn managed to fight out of his grip and hit a big Super Kick on Sashay and Hank Gunn scored the first elimination for his team. Sashay look stunned to be eliminated -- Hank Gunn wasn’t in there much longer as Charlie Corner slipped in and hit the Corner Cutter and eliminated Hank Gunn. Corner tagged out to Funky Fedora. Fedora came in against Marcus English and they exchanged some good trash talk that culminated with Fedora hitting his strut. The match was three on three for quite some time with all the members of each team getting a moment to shine before Funky Fedora came back in and caught Marcus English with Slingshot Back Suplex and got the elimination. Maliek Chamberlain came in like a house of fire and took it to Fedora -- who tagged out and powdered out while Jack Pryde came into the ring and went right after Maliek. Maliek bounced him around and looked like he was about to eliminate Chamberlain when Lucinda got on the ring apron. Chamberlain yelled at her to get down and that allowed Pryde to hit a low blow on Chamberlain and get the pinfall to eliminate him. This left Nate DeMarcus alone against The Player’s Club and Funky Fedora. Nate DeMarcus didn’t back down and he took the fight to the other three men. His power was incredibly impressive as he tossed all three men around. He hit a series of Belly to Belly Suplexes that rocked each man. He exploded out of the corner and hit Jack Pryde with a Snap Tackle to eliminate him. Then Charlie Corner ate a Snap Tackle. Now it was Funky Fedora and Nate DeMarcus. These two went at it for several minutes with several false finishes. The crowd really got into it at this point. They built right to the finish when Funky Fedora missed the Top Rope Knee Drop and while selling the knee, he got hit with a Snap Tackle and Nate DeMarcus survived and got the victory for his team.

In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, Hank Gunn, Nate DeMarcus and American Gold defeated Funky Fedora, Rafe Sashay and The Player's Club in an Elimination match in 14:36; Rafe Sashay was eliminated first, then Hank Gunn, then Marcus English, then Maliek Chamberlain, then Prime Time Jack Pryde, then Charlie Corner, and finally Funky Fedora,

The Canadian Blonds -- sans Philippe LaGrenier who is now persona non gratis came walking to the ring. They were joined by newcomer Robin DaLay. DaLay looked to be the new muscle for the group. Davis Wayne Newton was carrying one of the World Six-Man Championships -- the one that had been previously carried by Philippe. The four men get into the ring and Robin held his hand out and Steffi Chee provided a microphone. Robin handed it to Ozzie Goldstein, the de facto leader of the quartet.

Goldstein, “You know me. You know Flash Savage. You know The Triple Threat himself Davis Wayne Newton. We’re the World Six-Man Champions. We’re the best thing going in six-man wrestling in the entire world, but we are not just a trio. No. We went up to Canada and we found our newest member. We found The Rock himself, Robin DaLay. Look at this big man. His muscle have muscles. He’s the son of Canadian wrestling royalty. This business is in his blood and more importantly, it is in his fists. He is here to watch our backs. He is here to dominate along side of us. This is a new era for the Canadian Blonds. If you thought 2021 was a good year for us, wait until you see what is in store for us in 2022.”

Ozzie Goldstein tossed the microphone away and the four men exited the ring.

The Dog Soldiers versus Deverell's Army w/ Haley Buck

The next Turmoil match had a lot of bad blood in it. The Dog Soldiers and Deverell’s Army had been at each other’s throat for most of 2021. They had had many matches against each other in different combinations. They brought all of that into this match. Walter Blackhawk was the first eliminated after a Samson Sharpe delivered Lariat and it was three on four for quite some time. The three members of the dog Soldiers that were left had a lot of fire in them and they didn’t back down. In fact, Wild Red Stallion had his best showing as a pro in this match. He asserted his physical will on Sharpe and the Taggs -- Deverell smartly stayed out of the ring for most of it. Stallion eliminated Sharpe and then each of the Taggs and looked like a budding star. Deverell did not look happy to find himself in a three on one. Youngblood wanted Deverell and he got him, but Deverell and his Spinning Bulldog got Youngblood eliminated. Monteiro and Deverell went at it for a few minutes -- with Stallion staying out of it. Even though the Dog Soldiers had the numbers advantage, they refused to do anything remotely dirty. They treated this like a one on one match. Monteiro and Deverell were no strangers to one another and went back and forth before Monteiro hit his Eagle Chop and got the pinfall and the win for the Dog Soldiers!

In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Dog Soldiers (Ace Youngblood, Roger Monteiro, Wild Red Stallion and Walter Blackhawk) defeated Deverell's Army (Zippy Deverell, Samson Sharpe, Kalder Tagg and Wolfie Tagg) in an Elimination match in 17:44; Walter Blackhawk was eliminated first, then Samson Sharpe, then Kalder Tagg, then Wolfie Tagg, then Ace Youngblood, and finally Zippy Deverell.

"The Omega Man" Harvey Robbinfield versus "Spicy" Pepper Pelton ©

Harvey Robbinfield made his CWI here. Robbinfield was a former MAW Tag Team Champion and a product of the TCW School of Pro Wrestling. He spent four years working for MAW before the relationship with MAW was ended and he was brought to the TCW main roster. Two months later, he found himself without a job. A good showing here could mean a fulltime job and a chance to keep his career going. Robbinfield was a great athlete and made for a good opponent for Pepper Pelton, who had been coming into his own as a singles wrestler. The crowd was into this -- because they liked Pepper and Robbinfield had been on national television (even for a short time period) and before that had been featured heavily on WrestleWorld. The actual wrestling was just fine. Neither man was going to set the world on fire, but Pelton did not need to set the world on fire. He just needed to take the beating from Robbinfield and then make the big comeback that culminated in locking in the Spice Rack and getting the submission victory and his third successful title defence.

In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, Pepper Pelton defeated Harvey Robbinfield in 11:44 by submission with a Spice Rack. Pepper Pelton makes defence number three of the CWI Indiana title.

Felicia Luck, Yvonne Ericks, & The San Diego Girls versus War Maidens & Merryl Lavoie

The third Turmoil match was the women’s opportunity to shine. Women’s Champion Felicia Luck was the captain of her team, which featured the very popular San Diego Girls and the rookie Yvonne Ericks. Their opponents were the War Maidens -- which looked like they were embattled in a feud with Felicia Luck over the Women’s Championship -- and Merryl Lavoie. Last month, Black Diamond was defeated by Felicia Luck and suffered a minor concussion that almost kept her out of this match but doctor’s cleared her just days before. This match continued the trend of having the crowd very into the action. The War Maidens are the most over heels in the Women’s Division and Luck and the San Diego Girls are the most popular women on the roster and both Ericks and Lavoie are trying to really establish themselves. This was an action-packed contest and the heels scored the first elimination of the contest when Urena Frost eliminated Yvonne Ericks. Black Diamond came into the ring and looked like she was a house of fire, but Izzy Quick got the quick roll up and Diamond was eliminated (this was probably because of the concussion and wanting to protect her). Lavoie came in and she had a good stretch of minutes where she showed some of her Stone training, following some of Dan Stone Jr.’s trademark moves to help establish her as a talent to watch. She suplexed both the San Diego Girls but then Felicia Luck came into the ring and she hit a big Lucky Strike to eliminate Merryl Lavoie. Now it was 3-2 in favor of the faces. Talia Neema came in and she looked like a woman possessed. She hit a big headkick on Felicia Luck that sent her to the outside of the ring. She went back and forth with Izzy Quick in a great sequence that was very lucha style before it broke down and Neema started to showcase some of the European style that she has been learning while working in Europe. Neema hit Izzy Quick with her Hieroglyph that looked like it knocked her out -- except that Coco Malloy was the legal woman and Malloy rolled up Talia Neema and eliminated her. Urena Frost was up against the wall now, but she did not look deterred. She came in and went right after Coco Malloy. She showed some of the Viking rage that she inherited from her ancestors. She showed a ferocity that she has not shown a lot of so far in her CWI career when she hit Coco with a big T-bone Suplex into the corner. As she was being suplexed, Coco tagged in a still dazed Izzy Quick. Quick came in and immediately looked for a hurricanrana, but Frost held her and lifted her high and drove her down into the mat for a Sit-Out Powerbomb that eliminated Izzy Quick. Malloy staggered back in and got caught with a BattleCry and she was eliminated and suddenly it was one on one and Felicia Luck was still selling the effects of the headkick from Talia Neema earlier. Luck and Frost exchanged some offense for several minutes before Frost hit a second BattleCry and got the win for her team, surprising almost everyone.

In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, Black Diamond, Merryl Lavoie and Femme Fatales defeated Felicia Luck, Yvonne Ericks and The San Diego Girls in an Elimination match in 16:16; Yvonne Ericks was eliminated first, then Black Diamond, then Merryl Lavoie, then Talia Neema, then Izzy Quick, then Coco Malloy, and finally Felicia Luck.

The Boys from the Yukon versus Bred for Battle © w/ Andrew Gibson

The semi-final match up was a big tag team match, literally and figuratively. The Boys from the Yukon are former COTT World Tag Team Champions and have been the most dominant force in NYCW for the past half decade or so. Bred for Battle have been on a tear in 2021. They have been very physical and Andrew Gibson has kept them incredibly motivated. This was a match of four big bruisers that went at each other with a lot of stiff shots and hard slams. Dreadnought bumped for both of The Boys from the Yukon -- with their size, it made a lot of sense for them to be able to knock him down. The crowd loved this big hoss-fight. The strikes echoed off the walls of the Fountain Square Theatre -- and at one point James Diaz hit Whitehorse Whittaker so hard that drops of sweat were clearly visible in the air -- having flown off Whitaker’s body from the impact. A well-timed distraction from Andrew Gibson allowed Dreadnought to hit the Dread Bomb on Whitehorse Whittaker and get the win for his team and the fourth straight title defence.

In an exceptional match, Bred for Battle defeated The Boys From The Yukon in 12:40 when Dreadnought pinned Whitehorse Whittaker with a Dread Bomb. Bred for Battle make defence number four of the CWI Tag Team.

"Mr. Submission" Al Coleman versus The Hangman ©

The main event pit submission/technical grappler Al Coleman against the ultra-physical Hangman. Hangman has still not been knocked off of his feet, he’s still not been slammed, suplexed, bumped, etc. let alone defeated. Coleman came out looking to grapple, but much like McManus, he was tossed around. Coleman got more and more frustrated as the minutes went by and he kept finding himself tossed -- but his frustration was taken out when his head was almost taken off by a strike from The Hangman. The Hangman took his time assaulting Al Coleman. He wasn’t in a rush as he continued to showcase his dominance. The crowd loved rooting against The Hangman, who has been developing more of a personality -- including more interaction with the fans, which helped get more involvement and get the crowd more excited even though they were essentially seeing a longer squash match. The Hangman mercifully ended the execution of Al Coleman with a Choke Slam and got his fourth successful title defence.

In an exceptional match, The Hangman defeated Al Coleman in 11:14 by pinfall with a Choke Slam. The Hangman makes defence number four of the COTT Mid American title.

Davids, "I just wanted to take a moment to let all of the fans of Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis know that I'm going back to the Circle City at Christmas Clash to defend the World's Heavyweight Championship. I have been a busy champion. I've gone all over North America already defending this title. I've already defended this championship twenty times. I've got several title defences lined up before I get to Indianapolis, but rest assured, I'll be bringing the World Championship to Indianapolis and I'll be leaving Indianapolis with the World Title. I know that it's supposed to be Kip Keenan that challenges me at Christmas Clash. Kip, I don't know you, I don't care to know you, but understand that I'm going to beat you and I'm going to leave Indianapolis as World Champion."</p><p> </p><p>

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis was in action in South Bend, Indiana for its final spot show of 2021. It continued the trend of being very well received and earning praise from the fans that were in attendance.

The show started with Minnesota Awesome getting a victory over the team of Egon Merowitz and Rafe Sashay in a very competitive tag team match.

That was followed by Merryl Lavoie getting a pinfall over Sylvia Dugal.

Joy Ryder defeated Yolanda Frey.

Ruby Reece defeated Melinda Perry.

Sabrina Wells defeated rookie Native American Annette Kerr.

Hank Gunn defeated Lance Whitworth in the semi-final contest.

The main event saw "Spicy" Pepper Pelton successfully retain the Indiana Heavyweight Championship when he defeated former TCW wrestler Jeremie Courtney. This marked Pelton's fourth successful defence of the championship and continued the streak of the Spice Rack being unbreakable.

Getting the show out quick, appreciate it. It was a good show, I like the elimination tag concept as it can always lead people down different paths.

Urena Frost vs Felicia is coming up I'm assuming. Maybe she'll be the one to dethrone Felicia. I'm just gonna say I miss Steph Blake :'( the OG Queen.

Alot of big news with all these siginings, really shaking things up. How can you afford all these popular people? I'm shocked with all the talent you got you haven't got 100 fans yet, what's your size number at in the Great Lakes?

I really appreciated the Al Coleman promo, it added some importance I guess I'd say to the match. It made it seem like Coleman wasn't just a random popular guy coming in to lose but had a shot against Hangman. I also liked that addition of Hangman having more interaction with fans. He's growing as a performer! Hopefully he doesn't get stolen.

I really like being able to turn shows out quickly. I've always enjoyed having fast turn around that move you through the game world -- especially when you're running one real show a month.

I also miss Steph Blake. I was hopeful that she was going to stick around longer and really anchor my women's division, but alas that was not in the plans.

We are right at an 8 in the Great Lakes in popularity. Both the wrestling business and economy are in the toilet which is really hurt our growth to hit over 100.

In reality, guys like The Texas Express and Lucy Stone McFly have very little popularity. Lucy has some because of WrestleWorld and The Texas Express have some because they were on USPW TV occasionally, but they weren't used all that often. One Man Army is really the only one that's been added that's really costly and he isn't going to be used all that frequently. I'm fortunate that a lot of my roster is very cheap. The Hangman, for instance, as my champion, currently costs $20 a show despite being a 45 popularity in the Great Lakes region. With a lot of my roster priced affordably, I'm able to add in some people that are a little more expensive. Zippy Deverell costs $20, same with Pelton, the Taggs, etc... Guys who are less than $50 a show are guys that I try to feature pretty heavily [and as they ask for raises, I always give it to them, so some people that started out being cheap are now in three figures.]

The Hangman has turned into a great hand. His brawling, hardcore, charisma, and many of his physical and performance stats are all Light Blue with very high potential caps. He only has a 56 star quality though so he's probably capped in popularity at a lower level that would make him not a potential national star, but he's a great local/regional kind of star. I have a love/hate relationship with workers getting stolen. I hate it from the standpoint of it forcing me to change plans and book differently -- but I also love it from the standpoint that it provides some natural roster turnover.

That sucks, I always like seeing the growth in the attendace the way you do it. The quality of shows you do made me think you had to be close to atleast the 20's. But the economy and industry being on a freefall is not the best atmosphere for a growing company.

Lucy Stone-McFly versus Merryl Lavoie</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

This match was the United States debut of the eldest daughter of Victoria Stone and Sean McFly. Lucy Stone-McFly made her professional debut to a lot of fanfare. For years, people have speculated that the young woman was the future of women’s professional wrestling. Her opponent for this contest was a fellow graduate of the House of Stone. Lavoie and Stone-McFly are not strangers to one another, having been two of the only women at the House of Stone they extensively trained with one another. Lavoie has had an up-and-down career in CWI so far. She’s won some matches -- including being on the winning team last month at Thanksgiving Turmoil -- but she has also lost matches. This match was not long for the world. It started off with some classic Stone family technical wrestling. The chain wrestling was slick and Lucy Stone-McFly got the better of it. Lavoie clearly got frustrated that the younger woman was getting the drop on her consistently and went to throw a big closed fist, but Stone-McFly was able to counter that into a couple of slick strikes of her own and then hit a big </span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>Delorean Driver</em></span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> -- the trademark move of her father -- to get the victory in her first match in CWI.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

In an extremely short match, Lucy Stone-McFly defeated Merryl Lavoie in 4:15 by pinfall with a Delorean Driver.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

CILL's The Cleansing versus Deverell's Army [sharpe & The Taggs] w/ Haley Buck</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The Cleansing has been one of the top young trios in Mexico for the past couple of years. With their white and gold attire and religious look, they made for a great entrance and great babyface foils for Deverell’s group -- that was looking to rebound after their loss last month in the Thanksgiving Turmoil match. Unfortunately, the entrance was where The Cleansing was most spectacular. In the ring, they were still incredibly green and their full lucha style was a bit of a clash with the three big bruisers (all three of whom are also still green). The action wasn’t bad, per say, but it wasn’t good either. The shining star of the match was Haley Buck on the outside. She was excellent. She screamed and pulled at her hair and was the crazy hillbilly woman to perfection. Samson Sharpe hit Angel Flyer with the Full Nelson Bomb and got the victory for his team.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Deverell's Army (Samson Sharpe, Kalder Tagg and Wolfie Tagg) defeated The Cleansing (Angel Flyer, Crusader and Redeemer) in 8:09 when Samson Sharpe pinned Angel Flyer with a Full Nelson Bomb.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Nate "the Great" DeMarcus versus One Man Army</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

In the past two months, Nate DeMarcus has looked incredible. He got a big singles win over the 6’11” Bear Barnes, he was dominant in the Turmoil Match and now he had the chance to end 2021 with the biggest singles win of his career -- a win over former DAVE and TCW star One Man Army. The crowd was into everything in this match. It started with a strong lockup where Nate got to show his power. One Man Army took every short cut the veteran could think of to keep control of the match from the powerhouse DeMarcus. He targeted the knee of the big man from Rhode Island and DeMarcus sold the best of his career. One Man Army took to the air several times and landed on DeMarcus’ knee. He tried to lock in an Indian Deathlock, but DeMarcus was able to push him off. DeMarcus was very hobbled as he began to fight back. He was a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest, but the Indianapolis faithful were behind him as he hit a Vertical Suplex and then a Snap Suplex. He slapped at his knee to try to get the feeling back in it. He lifted One Man Army high above his head for a Gorilla Press Slam and then hit the Snap Tackle and Nate DeMarcus secured the huge victory!</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Talia Neema made a big entrance, decked out in some real fantastical Egyptian garb. This was a big moment for her. Neema had a short rain as EWA Women’s Champion over the summer but this was her first singles little opportunity in the United States. Both of these women came to prove a point. The starting lock up was intense and fans could tell there was bad blood between the women and that only added to the heat of the match. They hit each other hard, with Neema showing some of the stiff European strikes she had been learning while Luck showing the hard strikes that made her stand out as the only woman to survive The Boot Camp. Luck hit several leg kicks that left big red welts on Neema’s thighs and Neema hit several stiff Forearms that rocked Luck. An eyerake allowed Neema to seize control of the match for several minutes. Neema’s strategy seemed to be focused on the neck of Luck. She used her hybrid strike-flying offense. Neema hit a Middle Rope Legdrop that almost got her the win. She hit a Springboard Knee right to the jaw of Luck that got another near-fall. Luck sold all of the offense perfectly and the fans were clamouring for her comeback. Neema went for her Hieroglyph spinning kick, but Luck got both of her arms up and protected her face. This allowed her an opening to begin her barrage of strikes and her comeback. Neema bumped big for Luck -- the classic big-bumps that a heel gives the babyface during the comeback. Luck hit the ropes and came roaring across the ring with a clothesline that turned Neema inside out. Luck was fired up and she hit her </span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>Lucky Strike</em></span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> and got the win and her sixth title defence.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Coming into this match, The Canadian Blonds had managed eleven defences of the World Six-Man Championships. They had defended them in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The Dog Soldiers had been on a roll. They had multiple big wins in their career but had yet to receive a group title opportunity, so they came into the match highly motivated. Roger Monteiro, the leader of the Dog Soldiers, started the match against Ozzie Goldstein, the leader of the Canadian Blonds. They had a great wrestling exchange, with Monteiro continuing to get the better of Ozzie by being just a little faster and able to get around Ozzie. He took Ozzie down multiple times and Ozzie was clearly getting frustrated. Ozzie tried to take a cheapshot with a closed fist, but Roger blocked it and hit a big open-handed right hand that dropped Ozzie. Ozzie slid back on his butt with his eyes wide and Roger begged him to bring the fight. DWN made the tag and he came in and took over the match. He isolated Roger from his partners and Roger took a beating from the Blonds -- who worked as a well-oiled unit. Roger sold beautifully. He took the beating and reached out to the people in the front row and begged for their help and they cheered him on. He managed to tag in Ace Youngblood -- who came in with veteran fire and chops for everyone. The Blonds sold the chops like they were devastating and then when big Wild Red Stallion got the tag, he tossed Ozzie and DWN out of the ring and hit Flash Savage with a huge </span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>Lakota Cutter</em></span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> and got the pinfall victory and the Dog Soldiers were World Six-Man Champions!</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, Dog Soldiers (Ace Youngblood, Roger Monteiro and Wild Red Stallion) defeated Canadian Blonds (Ozzie Goldstein, Flash Savage and Davis Wayne Newton) in 11:07 when Wild Red Stallion pinned Flash Savage with a Lakota Cutter. Ace Youngblood, Roger Monteiro and Wild Red Stallion win the COTT World Six-Man titles.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Despite “Texas” being in their names, they did not come out like cowboys. Nothing like that. Instead, they came out looking like All-American white meat babyfaces. The crowd was very excited to see the new additions to the roster. They slapped hands with the crowd and got into the ring. Steffi Chee was standing in the ring waiting for them.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Trenneman, “That’s easy. CWI is building the most competitive tag team division in the United States. You’ve got great teams here. Bred for Battle. The Dog Soldiers. American Gold. The Player’s Club. The Circle City Connection. The Taggs. Minnesota Awesome. The Canadian Blonds. All great teams. Steffi Chee was interrupted by the sounds of “You See Me” by Childish Gambino played over the speaker system. American Gold walked out from the back. They were smiling but they also looked intense. American Gold slapped hands with the front row and then got into the ring.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Chamberlain, “We just wanted to come out here and officially welcome Texas Express to CWI. We’ve known them for a couple of years now. We’re excited for you to be here and for you to join the competition here in CWI.”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

English, “But we’re also wanting to make sure you guys recognize that we’re the top team here in CWI. We’re the face of the tag team division and we’re about to get our CWI Tag Team titles back when we get Bred for Battle back in the ring. They haven’t been able to beat us clean, one, two, three and we’re going to make sure we get those belts back. And when we do. We’d be happy to give you boys a shot.”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Cooper and Turk smiled as Steffi brought the microphone over to them.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Christie, “Well we appreciate that, guys. We really do. We don’t want to step on any toes. We’re not here to upset the rankings -- we’re here to prove that we’re the best tag team in the world. So if we have to wait for you to win the Tag Titles -- or to at least get your shot, that’s fine. We’ll wait, because we know at the end of the day it will be us as Tag Team Champions.” </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Steffi turned to get the response from American Gold, but she was interrupted by the ever-popular “Buy U A Drank” by T. Pain began to play.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The Player’s Club came out. None of the three looked happy. Lucinda Lush got into the ring and snatched the microphone out of Steffi Chee’s hands and it took all of Steffi Chee’s professionalism to not sock her in the jaw.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Lush, “I hope the gladhanding portion of the show is over. It’s real nice you guys want to be sportsman and friendly with one another. You can do that on your own time. Neither of you are the top team in CWI. That’s an honor that belongs to The Player’s Club. We’ve been cheated out of opportunities. We were cheated against The Circle City Connection -- Mr. Grappling clearly had loaded his mask and the official refused to check the mask and it cost us! We won’t be cost again though. We are coming for the CWI Tag Team Titles. My boys are ready to show the entire world that they are what’s happening in Tag Team Wrestling. You all can just wait in line!”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Before the match started, newcomer Funky Fedora made his way to the ring and was on guest commentary with the normal ringside crew. Throughout the match, he made disparaging mark after disparaging mark about Conner Threepwood. This was an entirely different kind of tag team contest than we got last month with The Boys from the Yukon. Whereas last month was a big hoss fight of bruisers, this was something different. Threepwood was still feeling the effects of a back injury and as such, Mr. Grappling wrestled the bulk of the match -- something that Funky Fedora noted on commentary. Grappling and James Diaz had a very good wrestling exchange -- despite Diaz’ size and notoriety for being an intense high-impact brawler, he has surprisingly good technical skills and the two exchanged holds with the ultra-old school Mr. Grappling focused on trying to take Diaz off of his feet -- where his power wouldn’t come into play. Threepwood was very encouraging on the outside and he came in for some short bursts of offense, but he didn’t take any bumps or punishment from Bred for Battle -- that was all on Mr. Grappling and he took a great beating. With the mask on, his facials were obscured but he used great body language to tell the story of a man in pain as Diaz and Dreadnought tossed him around the ring and slammed him. Dreadnought hit the </span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>Dread Bomb</em></span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> on Mr. Grappling and Bred for Battle notched defence number five.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Atlas versus The Hangman ©</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The Mid American Championship match was up next. The Hangman was looking for his fifth successful defence since winning the title in July. Atlas, the former USPW, RIPW, and MAW star was making his in-ring debut in CWI. Since leaving USPW in December of 2020, Atlas had been working steadily for IPW in California and RMW in Montana. Both of these men are big, muscular, impressive specimens that have a “Can’t-Take-Your-Eyes-Off-Them” kind of quality about them. This was a straight forward brawl with neither man taking any bumps for the first several minutes until The Hangman hit a clothesline that flattened Atlas. Atlas was quick to his feet and got a throat thrust that dropped him once more. The Hangman was in his zone and he snarled at the crowd as he went to work on the big Atlas. He showed a viciousness that he hadn’t been able to show -- because Atlas was by far the biggest, most in-shape opponent he had dealt with. Atlas was not able to knock The Hangman off of his feet, but The Hangman was able to hit a Big Boot and Choke Slam to grab the victory in a very impressive showing.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

In an exceptional match, The Hangman defeated Atlas in 8:55 by pinfall with a Choke Slam. "True American" Kip Keenan versus Des Davids ©</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The main event of the evening was for the COTT World Heavyweight Championship. The champion, Des Davids, was entering the match with twenty-three successful defences since winning the championship from Doc Hammond in August. Kip Keenan had been one of the top independent wrestlers in the country for the past several years. He had dominated in Puerto Rico, had been a stand out for CZCW where he was also currently working (in addition to FCW) and had earned this opportunity with great performance after great performance. This match continued that streak as the two men tore the house down with a classic pro wrestling match. They grappled in the beginning, with Kip Keenan consistently getting the better of Des until Des got frustrated and closed fist punched Kip so that he could get the advantage. Des spent the majority of the match working on Kip’s shoulder. Kip Keenan favored the Belly to Belly Suplex as his signature move -- and to do so he needed to be able to hold a grip around his opponent and if his shoulder and arm were damaged, that would make it almost impossible. Des was focused on the arm. He dropped a knee on it. He worked a variety of arm holds -- including a nasty hammerlock that was locked in like he was actually looking for a submission and not just a rest hold. Des even broke out the very rare Hammerlock Suplex that dumped Kip right on his shoulder. Kip sold beautifully as Des continued to work on his arm, until Kip made his comeback. A one-armed comeback, but a comeback none the less. Davids bounced around for Kip and Kip hit the Belly To Belly Suplex and got the victory and became COTT World Heavyweight Champion!</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

<span style="font-family:'Courier New';">2021 has ended and we are off to a new year. I hope everyone celebrated the new year safely and responsibly and was able to ring it in with loved ones. This is the heaviest trafficked day of the year for the Pro Wrestling Reporter because everyone wants to know our End of Year Awards. I, along with the rest of my staff complied this list by watching everything we absolutely could. Of course, there could be stuff we missed, but just as in every year, we think that we have a very comprehensive list. So without further adieu:</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Courier New';">

CWI Wrestlers to Chart in the PWR 500

440. Philippe LaGrenier

454. Davis Wayne Newton

I'm assuming that Joy Ryder won the Indvidual Award because she was on QAW a lot. QAW has a TV deal with WrestleWorld and I assume she is managing folks on their roster and getting a lot of love. I can't take any credit for that even though she works for me too.

That brings a close to 2021 though, our second year! We're 24 shows in. Let's see what 2022 holds for the company! I plan on doing some narrative writing before I post the card for New Year Scramble, but I'm excited to keep moving forward! I hope you're all enjoying so far.

I think now is also a good time to open it up to any requests for updates on wrestlers.

Also, who would you like to see featured in some narratives over the course of the coming year?
