A/N: I had the entire Thanksgiving Turmoil show written and ready to go and the document ended up going the way of the Dodo bird and before I realized it I had emptied out my trash can with the show on it. I didn't have the motivation to rewrite/and format the entire show, so I apologize for the presentation of what follows -- but hopefully, you will forgive me.

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis Presents:

Thanksgiving Turmoil

Saturday Week 4, November 2022

Live at the Fountain Square Theatre

Belltime: 7:00 PM Doors 6:00 PM for special preshow action!

Opening Match

Eight-Man Tag

Turmoil Match

Mr. Grappling, Pepper Pelton, Adam MacDonald & Nebo Martell versus The Hangman, Bear Barnes, & Bred for Battle

Short Match Write Up: Mr. Grappling and his accumulated allies for this Turmoil match (my version of the traditional Survivor Series match) were outmatched from the beginning by the four monsters of men. This was designed or me to see what Adam MacDonald (a Marcus McKing regen) and Nebo Martell (an Aaron Andrews regen) could do on the big stage -- as well as get to advance the story that started last month with Grappling and The Hangman. The Hangman's team won with The Hangman and Dreadnought being the surviving two members of their team. Mr. Grappling was the final elimination, getting eliminated by The Hangman.

Singles Match

Thirty Minute Time Limit

"Fully Loaded" Hank Gunn versus Xavi Ferrera w/ Lucinda Lush

Short Match Write Up: This was, as predicted, a rebound win for Xavi Ferrera. I'm very high on Xavi as a talent -- I think he's the total package as a talent. I also think Hank Gunn has a lot of potential but he's still young, very young. This was a good match, but Xavi Ferrera got the win with the High Impact Frog Splash.

05TFh3q.png

Eight Woman Tag

Thirty Minute Time Limit

Turmoil Match

The San Diego Girls & The Bootcamp versus The War Maidens[Neema & Diamond] & The Daughters of Lucha Libre

Short Match Write Up: The four teams that are in the semi finals were in this match. The San Diego Girls will face The Bootcamp in the second round and the War Maidens will face The Daughters of Lucha Libre. Neither team could really get along -- and that was the story. It came down to Talia Neema and Izzy Quick and Quick got the pin and the win for her team.

05TFh3q.png

Eight Man Tag

Thirty Minute Time Limit

Turmoil Match

American Gold & Texas Express versus Deverell's Army w/ Haley Buck

Short Match Write Up: Zippy Deverell was a crazed man in this match. Unshaven and unkempt -- clearly reeling from his championship loss. The Texas Express and American Gold worked well together for a little while -- but it was clear that they weren't really getting along. American Gold refused to make the tag to The Express -- and that cost them when they were eliminated. The Express was outmatched when it was down to 4-2 and even though they were able to eliminate Samson Sharpe, Deverell's Army was able to stand tall at the end.

05TFh3q.png

Tameka Sky was out after that to give us a break before the two title matches. She cut a promo that she was the new face of the women's division and she was going to be at the top for a long time. Columbian wrestler Frankie Carmello, who has been undefeated in singles action, came to the ring to make the challenge for next month and Sky cockily accepted.

Six-Man Tag

Sixty Minute Time Limit

COTT World Six-Man Championship

The Dog Soldiers versus Funky Fedora, Phil Anders, & Rafe Sashay ©

Short Match Write Up: Funky was barely involved in this match. He let Anders and Sashay to most of the work and that was to his detriment. Stallion and company were on their A-game and the former World Six Man Champions managed to reclaim the gold in this when Wild Red Stallion, who has been getting the mega push lately, got the pin over Phil Anders.

COTT Mid American Championship

Juggernaut Jones versus Nate "the Great" DeMarcus ©

Short Write Up: This was a short but very physical contest. Juggernaut was a guy I brought in because FCW closed and he was sitting there with no job and I thought that he would be a good addition to the roster. He was a good opponent for Nate -- but I had to keep the match short. Nate got the victory with the Snap Tackle and notched another title defense.

A/N Part Two: This was the first show where we cracked 100 fans! I'm disappointed that I lost the write up with it having been the first show to cross the century mark, but c'est la vie. This was what I call a maintenance show. It was designed to further several stories (the unraveling of Zippy Deverell, the Women's Tag Title Tournament, the Express and Gold's story, etc. There is a post show angle that I'm going to write up that gets us to the next big main event.

The most controversial decision of the show was the decision to flip the World Six-Man Championship back to the Dog Soldiers -- but that was always the plan. I'm very high on Wild Red Stallion and I wanted to give him several big wins in a row to really help get him more established and really help The Dog Soldiers as they move into what is going to be the next program for them.

I appreciate your understanding with the format of this show.

CWIWrestling.com was able to capture the following video after Thanksgiving Turmoil. We must warn you -- the video is upsetting and violent. Viewer discretion is advised.

rqaDjDy.jpg?1

COTT Mid American Champion Nate DeMarcus was exiting the Fountain Square Theatre. He was pulling a suitcase behind him and had the Mid American Championship in a black carrying case in his other hand. He was talking over his shoulder to the camera.

DeMarcus, "Tonight was a tough fight for sure. Juggernaut Jones was very physical. A big bastard like that is going to be."

DeMarcus laughed as he reached his car and started fumbling for the keys. A voice behind him called out.

"What'd you say about me?"

f5LseG0.jpg

DeMarcus and the cameraman turned to see former COTT World Six-Man Champion Funky Fedora standing there. Funky was holding a bottle that's label was torn off but he was clearly inhebrieated.

DeMarcus, "I wasn't talking about you or to you, man."

Nate said as he opened his trunk and put the suitcase and the championship in it.

Fedora, "It sounded like you said f**k Funky Fedora. He's a joke."

Nate turned towards Funky once more. Funky had taken several steps towards Nate. The camera man had backed up a few feet.

DeMarcus, "Why on earth would I say that? I don't care about you enough to make fun of you for no reason."

Fedora took a long swig. "Oh you don't care about me? The Champ doesn't care about the boy from Memphis who lost the World Six-Man belts, huh?"

Fedora clearly wasn't making any sense to Nate who sighed audibly.

DeMarcus, "You're drunk, Terry. Go get a cup of coffee and call an Uber."

Funky Fedora's eyes went wide. "Don't call me that. No one calls me that anymore."

Nate just shook his head and turned his back on Funky. He went to close his trunk when Funky pounced. The sound of glass shattering echoed off the parking lot as Funky broke the half-filled bottle on the side of Nate's head.

Cameraman, "What the hell, man? Stop that?"

Funky turned toward the camera man. "Shut up and just keep filming."

The cameraman was clearly uncomfortable but he didn't stop filming as Funky started to punch at Nate DeMarcus -- who was bleeding from the head. Funky Fedora focused his shots on Nate's head.

Fedora, "Disrespect me. Now who is laughing. NOW WHO IS LAUGHING!?!"

Funky noticed that Nate's trunk was open and he put Nate's arm in the trunk.

Cameraman, "Don't do it, Funky. Stop."

Fedora just looked right at the camera before looking down at Nate and slamming the trunk down. The video cut right before the impact of the lid on Nate's arm -- though the sound could be heard from the black screen. At this time, a bunch of voices can be heard trying to come help Nate.

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis was in action in Edinburgh, Indiana at the American Legion for another exciting night of local pro wrestling action.

The show started with Indiana Heavyweight Champion Mr. Grappling coming to the ring. He let the fans know that in the main event, he would be taking on third generation wrestler Dan Stone III for the Indiana Heavyweight Championship and if he retains, he will be putting the title on the line at Christmas Clash against The Hangman.

The first match had "The Rock" Robin DaLay defeat Luis Torres.

Rafe Sashay and Phil Anders rebounded from their six-man loss with a tag team win over Lance Austin and Raul Rogers.

The main event was next and they went almost thirty minutes before Mr. Grappling made Dan Stone III tap out to the Figure Four Leglock and successfully defend the Indiana Heavyweight Championship.

CWI was back in Bloomington, Indiana for another exciting night of pro wrestling action with another installment of the Ladies Night series. This show featured the semi-finals of the Women's Tag Team Title tournament!

The show started; however, with Ashley Keith defeating Hannah Hooligan with the Proton Lock.

After that, the Femme Fatales, Frost and Neema, came to the ring and hyped up their match with the Daughters of Lucha Libre.

The Femme Fatales defeated the Daughters of Lucha Libre to advance to the finals of the Women's Tag Team Title tournament.

Stella Saint defeated fellow House of Stone graduate Aubree Bailey by submission with her STF variation, the Saint Trap Facelock.

The San Diego girls were out next to hype the main event and then we went to intermission.

Coming out of intermission, "Red" Yvonne Ericks defeated the Canadian powerhouse Storm -- continuing her recent winning streak.

The main event saw The San Diego Girls defeat the Bootcamp in an excellent tag team match to advance to the finals -- which will be at Christmas Clash against The War Maidens!

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis returns to action for the final time in 2022 with Christmas Clash! 2022 has been a big year in CWI and we look to close it with a bang.

After the heinous attack last month, Nate DeMarcus demanded a match with Funky Fedora. The COTT Mid American Championship will be on the line. There is no way that Nate DeMarcus will be one hundred percent after Funky Fedora's assault. Will he be able to end 2022 as Mid American Champion? Or will Fedora be able to capitalize on the damage?

The Texas Express put the Tag Team Titles on the line against former COTT World Tag Team Champions, The Ring Generals. The Ring Generals are one of the most successful tag teams in pro wrestling today. They have held ten sets of tag team titles together and they are making the return to North American pro wrestling with this match. They have spent the past several years as one of the top tag teams in PGHW, where they have twice been PGHW Glory Tag Crown Champions and have won the Elite Tag Team Series. They are still employed by PGHW, but are returning to America to add another set of tag team titles to their resume.

Tameka Sky will be putting the Women's Title on the line against Frankie Carmello. Carmello has been undefeated in singles action since joining CWI and she is looking to take her career to the next level. Will she be able to defeat the 6'7" monster of a woman -- the Monolith Tameka Sky?

The Women's Tag Team Title Tournament culminates and Mr. Grappling and The Hangman will go one on one for the first time with the Indiana Heavyweight Championship on the line. All of that and so much more!

It's unfortunate the first 100 fan show was marred with Matt Hardy getting involved and the show being deleted. The replacement show did make it special though, it gave us a, behind the scenes at your thought process behind some decisions and a good view of what's happening in the future.

Zippy Deverell's descent into madness after losing his baby will be interesting to watch over the next shows. Will he take it out on his army, will he gun for Grappling more, many more possible paths he could go down and I'm here for it. Zippy is my favorite character right now CWI and it all started with his amazing promo a few months ago.

American Gold show some more heelish tendencies with trying to show they didn't need Texas Express to win the Turmoil Match. Who would've thought it, but they actually did and they cost the team the win. American Gold turning into desperate for recognition heels is a good path to go down. It's my assumption we'll be getting these two teams feuding for the next few months.

Wild Red Stallion was the obvious leader of The Dog Soldiers being the only one mentioned in the write up. Funky not getting involved was curious to me, it made me wonder that the trio will be no more. Little did I know, though after the show Funky would have a brutal angle with Nate to set up a match between the two. I disagree with Funky getting a title match here as he didn't earn it and the only thing he did was hit Nate over the head with a bottle and try to break his arm. It's like congratulations you've weakened the champion that means you get a title match now to take advantage of your damage. I feel like the face wanting revenge so puts the title on the line is good sometimes but Lucy Stone McFly doing the same thing with Tameka Sky is still fresh in my mind so I don't like the idea of doing it again here. A non-title match would suffice I believe, but you've done great things so I'll see what you've got planned here.

Comments: This is the match I'm looking forward too the most. I'm a huge Ring Generals fan and am pumped for their return to the U.S. I wanna assume Texas Express win cause of the usual random known person coming in to lose to the champ(s) mentality you've gone with most of the time. But I'm really hoping The Ring Generals pull the win and we get to see more of them. I know they must be expensive and it'd be difficult with the PGHW schedule but I'd love it soooo much!!

Comments: San Diego Girls are the ones who wanted the titles to be made, but The Femme Fatales are the "First Ladies" of tag team wrestling in CWI. I think them winning the titles is a path forward, plus Neema will get a reward for her years of hard work. Also it'll give some more cred to the War Maidens after Frost lost the Women's Title months ago.

The Hangman versus "Indiana's Finest" Mr. Grappling ©

Sign: "Take my Noose"

Comment: I'm honestly thinking Zippy Deverell gets innvolved here, I don't know if it'll be to help Hangman win, but I see Deverell sticking in the Indiana Heavyweight Title picture. He's not gonna say goodbye to his baby so easily.

We are here for Christmas Clash, the final show of 2022 and what a year it has been. CWI continues to grow and gain new fans. For those of you wondering, that was the voice of my broadcast colleague Mark Hyatt -- who has established himself, against my will I might add, as my permanent broadcast colleague over the past few years. In our main event tonight, Nate DeMarcus, against doctor’s orders, will step into the ring to defend the Mid America Championship and his pride against Funky Fedora. I have to say, I don’t think this a smart decision. Nate’s arm was broken last month in a brutal parking lot attack and I don’t think he should be stepping into the ring tonight.”</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

He’s incredibly tough, but pride will be his downfall. I have it on good authority that he won’t even be wrestling in a cast tonight -- evenough though his arm is broken. Casts are not sanctioned by the Indiana State Athletic Commission, so he is really handicapping himself against Funky Fedora -- and Marv, Funky is not a guy you want to be handicapping yourself against.”</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Plus, the Women’s Tag Team Title tournament culminates tonight. The Hangman challenges Mr. Grappling and The Ring Generals are back in the United States to take on The Texas Express. All of that and so much more so let’s go to our broadcast colleague Taylor Gordy who is ready for the introductions of the first match.”</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

"Fully Loaded" Hank Gunn versus “The Man, The Myth, The Legend” Rafe Sashay</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Both Sashay and Gunn needed a win going into this. Gunn had been red hot for the first half of 2022, but has stalled in singles competition. He has formed a promising tag team with Pepper Pelton in recent months, but he was still looking to break out from the pack. Last month, Sashay and company lost the World Six-Man Championships and Sashay was looking to rebound from that loss and get some momentum going on his side. This was a very basic opening match. The guys were clearly trying to warm the crowd up and didn’t do everything they could do. They told a basic story. Gunn controlled most of the match and Sashay stayed on the run. After several minutes, Sashay managed to get the referee out of position and reach into his tights. He loaded his hand with something and socked Gunn right in the jaw. He put whatever he had loaded his hand with back into his tights and made the cover and got the win.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Rafe Sashay defeated Hank Gunn in 5:56 by pinfall after using a foreign object.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

</span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">Taylor gordy stood in the center of the ring as former Women’s champion Lucy Stone-McFly came walking to the ring. The former Women’s Champion looked rather somber.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Gordy, “Thank you for joining us tonight, Lucy. Two months ago, you lost the Women’s Title to Tameka Sky. How have you been feling since that loss?”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Stone-McFly, “Honestly, I haven’t been feeling great about it. Who would? I was CWI Women’s Champion. I had done it and then Tameka Sky came in and she snatched that from me. She beat me fair and square. She was the better woman in October. I didn’t have the right gameplan and it cost me.”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Gordy, “Your honesty is appreciated. Where do you go from here?”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Stone-McFly, “Hopefully, into another match with her. I want the Women’s Title back and I’m making it my mission to get it back. She may be bigger and stronger and more powerful than I am, but I am going to do whatever I can to get a rematch and to win back the women’s Championship.”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The crowd was applauding her gumption when she was interrupted.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Ashley Keith, niece of Sam Keith and cousin to Greg and Matthew came stomping down to the ring. She slid into the ring and looked right at Lucy Stone-McFly. Taylor Gordy stepped between the two to make sure it didn’t get physical.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Gordy, “Ms. Keith -- what are you doing out here?”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Keith, “I’m out here because I was tired of hearing Lucy bitch about losing.”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Gordy, “This is a family show --”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Keith snatched the microphone from Gordy.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Keith, “I don’t give a good damn. I’m tired. I came to CWI because I was told that CWI doesn’t play favorites. There are no guarenteed rematchs here. You win, you get opportunities. You lose, you fall down the pecking order. The way wrestling is supposed to be. Well I came here in May -- and I’ve yet to lose a singles match. I’ve made woman after woman tap out to the Proton Lock. I’m done sitting back and waiting for my time. My time is now and Lucy -- you’ve got to go to the back of the line.”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Stone-McFly said something that couldn’t quite get picked up by the microphone that Keith was holding.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Keith, “Oh you want a match with me?</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Stone-McFly nodded emphatically and backed up. She started stretching like she was ready to wrestle right now.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Keith, “Right now? Do you wall want to see it? Ashley Keith and Lucy Stone-McFly for the first time ever? That’s what you all want?”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

She looked around at the crowd and they began to cheer. Of course they wanted to see the action.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Keith, “Well not tonight. No. Two weeks. New Year Scramble. Me and you, Lucy. Two weeks. Get ready.”</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

"American Eagle" Roger Monteiro versus Xavi Ferrera w/ Lucinda Lush</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

We came right out of the promo into a high-energy match between Xavi Ferrera and Roger Monteiro. Monteiro, a former Indiana Heavyweight Champion and currently one third of the World Six-Man Champions has been a solid member of the roster. He had never quite been able to get over the hump but he has been solid and conistent. Xavi came up short against Nate DeMarcu and was clearly looking to get back on track. This was an excellent contest and the two worked a good territory style match. Monteiro had a short shine in the beginning of the match before Ferrera cut him off. Ferrera went to wok for the next several minutes before Monteiro mounted the comeback. While Monteiro was firing off his strikes, Lucinda Lush got on the apron to the distract the refere and allow Juggernaut Jones to hit the ring and lay waste to Monteiro. That opened up Xavi to hit the High Impact Frog Splash and get the win.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The Hangman versus "Indiana's Finest" Mr. Grappling ©</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The last time The Hangman had a singles match -- he suffered his first pinfall loss in his CWI’s career. That was May -- seven months ago. Now he was standing in the ring with Mr. Grappling with the Indiana Heavyweight Championship on the line. Now that The Hangman has been knocked off his feet multiple times, he took a couple of bumps in this match -- no big ones, but bumps nonetheless. He sold for Grappling before taking over. In his time off, The Hangman had clearly still been in the gym and working hard. He looked as crisp as ever -- and at one point he hit a big clothesline where he flipped in the air while doing it. He was showing a bit more range in his offense than when he was the unstoppable monster. He hit a big clothesline that sent Grappling over the top rope to the floor -- but instead of following him out, The Hangman backed up to give Mr. Grappling space to get in the ring -- but Grappling wasn’t able to do so when he was hit from behind by Zippy Deverell -- who came out of nowhere. He had a steel logging chain in his hands and he went after Grappling. This got Hangman disqualified -- and Hangman didn’t look pleased as he started walking towards Deverell, who derrranged as he maybe, knew to hightail it before The Hangman got a hold of him.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The finals of the women’s Tag Team Title tournament had the two teams that most predicted would be here. The San Diego Girls led the campaign to get Women’s Tag Team Titles brought into CWI and The Femme Fatales are former World Women’s Tag Team Champions. These two teams know each other well and it showed here. They worked a deliberate pace throughout the match -- with the Femme Fatales spending the bulk of the match working over Izzy Quick. They used quick tags in and out -- and ring positioning -- to keep Izzy isolated from Coco Malloy. The crowd was firmly behind the San Diego Girls as Quick took her beating. At one point, Frost hi a big Tilt-a-Whirl Backbreaker on Quick and kept her on her knee and reached up to tag Neema -- who slingshotted herself in and did a nice little Flipping Legdrop in the process for a near fall. Neema set Quick up for the #YouToo, but Quick slid out of harm’s way and made the diving tag to Coco. Coco came in with big right hands that bumped Frost and Neema. Coco hit snap suplexes on each and was really fired up as she did the come back. Neema was the legal woman and Coco hit her with a second suplex and then a Running Knee Trembler and then made the tag to Izzy Quick and they hit the </span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>Mission Beach Missile</em></span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> and got the pin to become the first ever CWI Women’s Tag Team Champions!</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The Women’s Title match followed the Women’s Tag team Titles and it was another good match. Carmello is a high-octane luchadora who likes to fly around the ring. Sky, the towering 6’7” woman is also surprisingly fast and she worked a quick match with Carmello -- and took a couple of bumps. It’s clear that while CWI is looking to establish Sky as a monster, they aren’t looking to replicate the way they did it with The Hangman. Carmelo went for a big Hurricanrana -- and that was the turning point of the match. Sky countered it into a big Powerbomb that almost got the three -- and Sky went to work. All of Sky’s offense was power offense and the undefeated Frankie carmello sold wonderfully before going up for another Powerbomb and giving Tameka Sky her first successful title defense.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

This was a highly anticipated match. The Ring Generals were making their return to the United States -- having spent the last several years working exclusively in Japan. This match had a lot of time to tell the story -- and the two teams told a good one. It was clear that the time in Japan has taken a toll on The Ring Generals, as they have definitely slowed down as they approach their fortieth birthdays, but they were still masters at tag team craft. The match was built with as eries of highs and lows with The Express looking like they were going to win early, but the Generals were able to seize control. They focused on the neck of Turk -- using a series of double team moves and submission holds to try and wear him down. There were a couple of smaller comebacks in the match -- but the Generals were able to weather each storm and looked like they were going to get the victory right up until Turk hit a discus Lariat and fell forward several feet to make the tag to Cooper Christie. Christie came in and took over and he and Turk were able to hit a </span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>Texas Rising</em></span></span></span><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">, the Shatter Machine, on Dean Waldorf to get the victory and their first successful defense of the Tag Team Titles.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Funky Fedora versus Nate "the Great" DeMarcus ©</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Funky Feodra came to the ring with a new look. He had a fancy robe and his hair was a little more blonde and he looked like a star-to-be. Nate DeMarcus came out with his arm in a sling -- but he took his arm out to start the match. Funky immediately went after the injured arm and this was a match with nuclear level heat. Every time Funky did something to the injured arm and Nate sold it, the people about came over the guard rails. When Funky hit the ropes and then hit a Strut right before dropping a knee onto Nate’s arm, the place exploded with blows. This was Funky Fedora at his best and this was classic babyface storytelling. Nate was put in wouned jeopardy and the heel, Funky, exploited at every turn. Funky locked in an arm bar but Nate refused to tap out, instead he somehow got to his feet and even with the inured arm, lifted Feodra up and slammed him down. The people were right behind Nate as he made his comeback -- with just the one arm. Nate hit several moves with his one arm and Funky sold them incredibly. Nate backed up and looked like he was going for the Snap Tackle -- but when he lunged for it, Funky rolled him up and grabbed a handful of tights and used the leverage to get the win.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="color:#FFFFFF;"><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Still can't take Funky Fedora seriously when he's called Funky Fedora. It's an absolute jobber name.

It' a great name! You put some respect on it!

Anyway. That concludes 2022. It was a good year. We finally cracked 100 fans and ended the year with back to back 100+ attended shows. We suffered the loss of Conner Threepwood -- which was hard to stomach, but it allowed Nate DeMarcus to rise up to the front of the pack as the lead babyface and Funky Fedora was able to finally get himself to the top heel spot.

We ended the year at a 12 in popularity in the Great Lakes region -- which has been slower growth than I'd like. We started at '0' in 2020 and have only grown 12 points -- but we did see the wrestling industry and economy both bottom out. Both are on the climb back up so I think we will see slightly faster growth.

We have a lot of things in store for 2023, so hopefully you continue to enjoy (or start to enjoy) the stories that are being told and the direction we are heading.

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis started 2023 with a trip to Edinburgh. The show started 2023 off hot and it saw the debut of the first two graduates of the No Ordinary Men training class -- Victor Crash and AC King.

In a decent match, Robin DaLay defeated Victor Crash in 7:14 by pinfall with a DaLay Down.

Mr. Grappling came to the ring to cut a promo hyping his main event match -- a title defense against Flash Savage.

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling, Adam MacDonald defeated AC King in 5:30 by pinfall with a Blindside Pounce.

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Dan Stone III defeated AP Gumble in 10:07 by submission with a Stone Ankle Stretch.

In a decent match, Rafe Sashay and Phil Anders defeated Ben Williams and Bradley Goodridge in 9:37 when Phil Anders pinned Ben Williams with a Hangman's Neckbreaker.

In an exceptional match, Mr. Grappling defeated Flash Savage in 16:10 by submission. Mr. Grappling makes defence number three of the CWI Indiana title.

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis' first big show of 2023 with New Year Scramble. In the main event, Funky Fedora will put the Mid America Championship on the line against OLLIE's top wrestler and current champion, Demon King and Mid Atlantic Wrestling's Champion Josh Jacobs. Not only are they competing for the Mid America title -- but the winner will receive a future title shot at the COTT World Heavyweight Championship.

Former NYCW Tag Team Champions, the Italian Americans, are coming to CWI for a chance to win the CWI Tag Team Titles -- and we will have a four way elimination match to determine the number one contender's for Hoosier Hysteria.

Those three matches and so much more.
