Hopefully it's not too late, but starting up a game, and it looks like some WWF worker popularity needs looking at.

Owen Hart should probably have higher pop than both Papa Shango and Tatanka. Papa Shango and Tatanka hadn't debuted on TV yet, while Owen Hart was already teaming with Jim Neidhart on TV. Maybe just boost Owen to around low to mid 40s, and lower Papa Shango and Tatanka to around that level.

Both Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk need to have their popularity boosted. They're only 55 in the US from what I remember and are perceived as Recognisable. At the very least, I think they would qualify as Well Known. They were definitely more over than the rest of the tag division, and really the only reason Vince halted their Tag Title run was because of Hawk's drug issues and reliability issues.

Fred Ottman (Typhoon) should probably be near equal to Earthquake by this point in popularity in the US. I know some people like to poke fun at his run as Tugboat, but he held his own working with Hogan and Earthquake. I'd argue being put into the Hogan/Earthquake storyline is what elevated Fred Ottman to begin with and helped with him being chosen to team with Earthquake when Vince wanted to put a new heel tag team together.

Not a whole lot of editing there I think. I'm starting up a 1992 game with this mod and already am having fun in just the starting phases of it.

Due to not realising I had a days leave today, I have finished off the update today. Again, don't look for much outside of venues and broadcasters as that was my main focus (although there obviously are some other changes).

In the end I added 199 new broadcasters, taking the total to 400 and 139 new venues, taking the total to 900. With venues I have tried to stick to arenas that have shown wrestling, or are equipped to show wrestling. Major sporting stadiums/arenas have not been added for the majority, with the exceptions of those that have held events. There are very few NHL/NBA/NFL arenas, same with Europe/UK where Football and Rugby stadiums are not added for obvious reasons.

Pictures: The broadcaster picture pack has had a HUGE overhaul so I'd suggest deleting the one you are using for this mod as this has more time specific logo's etc... for the majority and there are several broadcaster changes that change to specific logos through the years. Using a "Frankenfolder" is not advised. In the other folders,, if asked do you wish to replace the image, always answer yes as it means I have spent time (and money) upgrading the picture to be more in focus and some black and white images have been improved and coloured.

@Fleisch I'm so excited to give this a run. The broadcasters themselves is exciting to be able to see all the changes made its going to make moving through history that much more fun. @Mildly_AmusingThank you for updating the gif pack it'll be great to slide the new graphics in and start running this thing over the weekend. This mod was already so much fun I can't wait to give it a spin.

I have noticed an error myself... The below 2 arenas are located in Eastern Europe on the data when they should be Russia. No idea how that has happened! I doubt many people will run shows at either but in case you want to change it yourself.

I have uploaded a revised data with these 2 fixes and Wrestlemania being set to a Finale but these are easy fixes if you don't want the hassle of re-downloading (its mainly for anyone new who downloads).

 

EDIT: Apparently the broadcaster additions have had the opposite effect and the number of companies going out of business/losing money has increased from the previous version. If you notice this happening in your save as well, let me know. It may be that I will need to re-work or delete the whole thing and revert back to having half the broadcasters.

I did not see this in my watcher game before release, however if the majority of players are finding more companies going out of business within the first year, let me know which ones please.

Everyone, ignore the previous post about broadcasters potentially breaking the data, it didn't. FMW were going out of business as I accidentally deleted Onitas set wage so his auto wage was crippling the company.

That is great to know. The broadcasters were such an exciting thing in this update to hear that it might have been broken was a bummer.

I would have probably cried had I had to revert back to 2.5 given the hours spent researching and adding broadcasters to the game. They're not perfect and I'm still going to be tweaking them as the year goes on but I think overall both the venue increase (which will also be tweaked and added to through the year) have added extra options to the game and made it a little better to play.

 

Also, I found some pics I forgot to put into the picture pack. Save them under the names I give;

It doesn't matter I just want to confirm that there are supposed to be 49 workers that don't have a picture? I know some of them have pictures in their alter ego. And Galaxy doesn't have a picture but there is a picture labeled Galaxy in the pic pack is that a different Galaxy? The same? As I'm playing I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Also its weird Adrian Finch doesn't have a picture I swear I've heard that name a ton but even googling him I came up short to the point where Danny Boy Collins kept coming up and I was thinking it was an alter ego I didn't know about. Turns out that Danny Boy Collins had his first match against Finch. Anyway I'm really enjoying the new venues and broadcasters they have really opened up the game even more (if thats possible).

Might want to take a gander at Davey Boy Smith's popularity. It's too high for him to sign with a medium sized promotion like WCW, even though in reality he would appear for ECW and WCW within a year of this start date.

I've taken a look and here are my thoughts on this;

For me, Davey is where he should be in terms of the WWF landscape at the time. Davey Boys popularity is 55 in US and Canada (his current popularity makes him Recognisable in WWF). If WWF push him in that first year though he will probably end up gaining popularity which I can do nothing about.

Lowering his popularity in the US at the start throws the entire balance off and having restructured popularity three times already with the mod, its not something I'm looking to do a fourth time. After a year in game I've had Ric Flair sign with WCW so even if Davey ended up at a 70 he should still have no problems signing with WCW (ECW maybe but that's mechanics more than error). Jimmy Snuka signs for ECW at 59 popularity and Paul Orndorff signs for ECW and WCW at 60+ popularity both of which are higher than Davey Boys starting popularity.

For now, I'm sticking to my decision after the last big discussion on overness was had. If you feel someone is too popular or not popular enough in your game, you can change it in the editor and see if it works better for what you are trying to achieve.

Thanks for the feedback, even when I disagree I am still happy for subjects to be approached.

Adrian Finch wrestled as one half of the UK Nasty Boys, and in the early '90s as "Macho Man", if that makes it any easier to track down a picture. He also teamed with Scott Conway around '92; I've been looking through Scott's Instagram, and while there's plenty of posters with them as a team, I've yet to find any with a picture of Adrian! Not found anything of either Finch brother on a couple of World of Sport Facebook groups either.

Is it this Mario Milano, or a different wrestler using the same name - Mario Milano - Wikipedia?

I guess let me re ask my question. Should there be 49 workers with pictures not assigned to them at the start of the game? I simply downloaded the pic pack and put it in a new folder. Thank you for that list though that atleast tells me everyone else should have a picture in the pic pack and I just gotta find it

No, there shouldn't be 49 workers with no images.

Couple more that I had somehow lost/deleted/forgot to save to packs from SkyCrasher (I fixed 3).
