Thank you for your help Fleisch. I just didn't see the worker add on pack so I just downloaded the full worker pack that was missing some new workers. After the pics you shared its like 8 workers without pictures including the infamous Tor Berg! Haha.

I'd put him in the 70s range in the British Islands regions. Forgot to include that. It would still make him one of the most over British stars and make sure he's a main eventer in UK promotions but also let him sign with medium sized companies like he did in real life.

I haven't even started my main save yet and already having a blast looking around. So many lesser known guys and I love it.

Oh Tor Berg is the most elusive picture! I've searched for Tor Berg, John Thurston, John Thurston Berg, his obituary, every frame I can of LPWA shows and unless he was a referee as well, not a single thing out there for him. I guess no pictures were ever taken of him (or at least none were uploaded to the internet).

I don't personally have a Facebook account, but has anyone ever thought about messaging Ken Resnick on the platform? I know it's a bit out of left field, but I know Mr. Resnick likes reminiscing about his wrestling days and from what I understand, he was more or less the person who announced Tor's death as they were still close before then. I don't know, he may have a picture of him either from the LPWA days or at the very least one before he sadly passed away. As long as it's done respectfully and explained why we want it, it could potentially work out.

Venue correction: Amway Arena was known as the Orlando Arena from 1989 until 1999 and then TD Waterhouse Center from 1999 until 2006 when it was shut down and replaced by the Amway Center(already in the data).

In the game you have Worldwide airing on Monday's. It aired on Saturday's in 1992. I'm not sure if this was on purpose or just an overlook.

This will be changed for the updated database. I deleted my to do list about halfway through - this was originally on it but one I forgot to re-add.

That's an oversight. It should be taped on a Wednesday and shown on Saturday as you say.

I don't have Facebook either. I despise Social Media. Its why I came off Twitter because some loser quoting "be nice, and show people respect" yet every one of their Tweets was making someone feel bad and bullying just so they could feel like a superstar. I figured if those are the sorts of scumbags on it then I would rather just socialise with my real friends in the pub!

Will do. I was a bit too generous with my popularity for him in the UK. I may decrease his Euro and Japanese popularity too a bit.

Ditto. I only made a Twitter account because GDS said we could link to our PayPal accounts through third parties, and I've never had an account on any other platform. My wife has a Facebook account which I use to search for photos as it's a surprisingly good place to find some rarer wrestling photos, but I don't get involved in all the other crap. She's working late tonight but I may ask her tomorrow if she minds me using her account to attempt to contact an old American guy on behalf of our community. 😂

First off, lol to that last line about using your wife's FB account. Second, make that three of us that despise social media. About the only thing I like these days is Yelp, and I don't even have a Yelp account. I just like reading the reviews and laughing at some of the ridiculous stuff people will post. Count Tony Schiavone, who also hates social media, and you've got the Four Horsemen of Anti-Social Media!

All that said, I look forward to another 1992 update and may download that for a more relaxed game not tied to the diary I'm posting.

I cannot find him either. I could have sworn I added him. Oh well, he'll be one added for next time (I have a list, and I know SkyCrasher has some people to add to). My list mainly consists of WWF enhancement (like Jim Evans, Eric Freedom etc...) I'll add Johnny Rich as well.

 

 

In other news... work has begun on my new fantasy mod. It mixes some of the Diablo X characters with unique characters created by me. It uses all I've learned from working on the 1992 mod and hopefully this will surpass Diablo X - or at least that is the plan! Obviously at this stage I can't give an ETA on release as I have only just started.

This does not mean the 1992 mod is dead and buried, far from it. Planning for the next update is going on and you'll have a new 1992 update sometime in 2024 (looking to have it out close to Feb/March).

Do you have a name picked out for the new fantasy mod? Will it be a fairly large database to begin with or are you planning on starting small and working towards that? Obviously its in the planning stage and so I'm sure a lot of that is in flux right now. 

Will the enhancement talent for the 92 mod and the additions to that. All of that will be in the 2024 update and this is pretty much the "final" update of this year? Just wanted to make sure I was understanding correctly.

No name settled upon yet but looking towards Diablo X size with additions down the line. Its based in 1990 so I'm trying to keep time lines as close as I can so for example. Tekken 1 came out in 1994, ages of those characters will be based off then (so ages as of Tekken 3 for example will be based on 2011 - as it is set roughly 15 years after Tekken 1). Same with Mortal Kombat. Set in 1992, ages will be worked out on that (so in 1992 Scorpion was 32, meaning in this data he'll be 29/30). It is an absolute ball ache adding all this maths into it but should be fun as not all characters are available, some won't be playable for 5/10/15 years! This is a project I've been planning for a while. If a real date of birth is given (like for Tommy Vercetti for example) that will be used. This means Tommy is 39 at games start (born 1951). The other thing is, unlike my Diablo X mod, this will not have all Street Fighter in one promotion, all promotions will be a mix of all franchises and unique workers created by me. The picture pack is also very unique in this one. I'm not using stock images from the games.

As for 1992, the previous release will be the last one for 2023. Partly so I can get some headway on this, and also in my job, we're getting into a very busy period of the year.

Noticed a little error in the 1992 data, the venue GPB Studios is in Georgia (presumably) but it's set to Mid South in the data.

For the record, my wife allowed me to contact Ken Resnick so I sent him a message and explained why I was searching for photos of Tor, but I haven't got a reply yet. He doesn't seem to be that active so I haven't lost hope, but at the same time, I'm not really expecting anything and just tried on the off-chance. I'll obviously let y'all know if I get a response. 👍

Update to the as of yet unnamed mod:

I'm currently adding in the workers, which so far stands at 112. I've settled on 7 company names that were used in my Millennium mod. Part of me is thinking it may be worth just using all of those companies again. For now though the most known companies are;

Kitsune Pro Wrestling (Japan)
Legendario Lucha Libre (Mexico)
Lucha Xtrema Mexicana (Mexico)
National Championship Wrestling (USA)
Organizacion Mundial de Lucha Libre (Mexico)
Revolutionary Wrestling Alliance (USA)
Strong Japan Pro Wrestling (Japan)

I'm looking to have a minimum of 3 companies in each area before release so this is not the definitive list, just what I've got so far. I am open to ideas for companies as I will make the logo's myself anyway (just as I am with the worker images). Don't worry about submitting any for the UK as I have an idea I want to try out in that area to see if it works the same as it does in my head and have a rough idea on names.

Following a complete hard drive failure I have lost everything on my PC. All the work on TEW has gone so I am genuinely chucking in modding for the rest of this year until I begin work on a 1992 mod update. I had spent hours planning and starting the new mod but thats now not going to come out as the thought of doing all that again does not appeal to me - especially the 12+ hours I spent on picture creations.

All my notes for what I had planned for the 1992 mod have gone as well which has really annoyed me.

Although the most annoying thing is the loss of everything else not relating to TEW.

Man I think we have all been there before. I remember this happening to me about a decade back it killed a diary I was having a ton of fun with as well as all of my mods I had saved. I'm really sorry to hear this and hopefully you can find a way to bounce back from it. Is it possible to get a hdd recovery of any sort? I know the mod you were working is likely toast but maybe you could find your 92 notes or other things you mentioned that were non TEW related that are gone now.

Sorry to hear that Fleisch. It really is the suckiest thing in the world when you do what we do, and that's not even taking into account more personal things that you may have lost. I take it you don't have any form of cloud storage or anything either? There's not really anything I can say to make it better but if you ever need any help (particularly with the graphic side), all you've got to do is ask. I look forward to whatever you do in the future no matter what you decide to do, or when you decide to do it.
