It might sound like I'm kissing *ss, but as far as I am concerned, you could make it ''free workers everyday''! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

More great stuff from everyone.

No free workers last week but I do have some re-renders from a personal game I am trying to get back into

What beard is that on Sigurdsson? I need that in my life

trying out a new rendering style with some of my NYCW renders. Thoughts?

Oh no question was definitely posed to the community at large. I struggle with variety as well so I’ve been trying to force myself to mix it up

These renders look...softer? Smoother? The skin tone isn't as pronounced as the previous ones and the lighting seems different.

Andrew Harper and Brutus Milano, for example, benefit from both sides of the coin as they both look really good with whichever setting you might be using (These render programs are alien to me). Same can be said for Vessey, but I think I prefer the original one.

On the the other hand, Animal Harker is better on the first one. The features of his face and beard are more refined.

The black on the first Masked Stranger is a lot more cleaner than the new one here. However, I think I like the skin tone on the new one rather than the old.

SMW, these are, as always, pure class! But, I gotta say, this Sigurdsson render is one of the best I have ever seen!

Thank you, most kind.

As for styles, I think you have attained a level where your renders are good regardless and it starts to come down to personal preference.

Realism vs more cartoon-ish

Camera angle - close up vs full head shot

Lighting - dark vs light

Figure angle - profile vs down camera lense

Expression - reserved vs over the top

etc

There is no right answer, everyone will prefer a different subset of the above and it can change over time or even render to render.

Usually my personal taste has moved towards a more realistic style (but by no means am I absolutely successful at that every time).

I have also played about with lighting, angles etc and my "style" if you will have adjusted to follow my preference over time. For me the TEW picture size is the limiting factor and making a render pop or stand out at 150x150 is harder than some people think.

For my personal PNG images I tend to run much larger and often full/half body shots. But for in game there is a reason I have stuck with the close head shot.

I also find some camera choices within Daz can enable more depth or perspective without the need to crop so close but these may not give the same skin or hair look in the final render, so its a question of practice, guess work and choice.

I have broadly settled on my current settings and am reluctant to deviate, however for those following this is probably the fifth change in settings over the years as I acquired new options and learned new things when using Daz, therefore it is likely I will change things up again in the future if I keep rendering.

As an example these are some of the realistic renders I was most happy with over time, but often these were as much luck as judgement in obtaining the right outcome (for me)

Where as these were perhaps slightly more cartoon-ish, but ones I am equally proud of and happy to use

I limited myself to 3 examples of each as I always have the temptation to re-share renders from years ago that I had almost forgotten I had done.

To anyone thinking of starting rendering or that are unhappy with their current output, I would say keep experimenting, this is one hobby where practice does lead to improvements, not all of which are driven by buying the right figures, textures, lighting and camera settings (although these can all help), I would say think of it more as creating art, there is no right way to do art but the best art works including renders tend to be those that convey a story or emotion to the viewer, giving them something to hook onto that their own imagination can then run with in terms of in game use with a game such as TEW. So if your camera angle or lighting is not doing it for you, experiment, just mix it up and see what sticks.

Sorry for anyone sitting through the above text, I rambled on more than planned.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Before I saw your reply, the first word that popped into my head was ''smoother''. :D

Also, compared to the original renders, these aren't as zoomed in, am I right? You can see more of the upper body than before.

My problem is, I'm really indecisive, I like them all and I can't choose. :D

I like reading about the process behind the creativity, so thank you. This was informative! :)
