[HYPE] CornellVerse 1931: The Forgotten Era

Recommended Posts

Not a substantial update, but checking in here to let anyone who still cares know that I am making slow progress.

I got bogged down by real life and such, and a hiatus from TEW2020 after the launch as I had quickly burned myself out from the game from extensive modding (for my personal saves and for other things, such as my diaries and the YTD Expansion stuff), as well as issues I had with some features.

I recently started getting back into the groove, and though I can't provide any solid release dates or windows, I would like to at least get a beta of some sort out by the end of 2020. Sorry for the long wait, everybody. :o

I will ask this:

I am trying out several options for the worker pictures to be used for the "Giant Era" up until about 1955 to the 60s/70s.

(Kichibei Ishido / Wolfgang Fischer / Clarence Hupp)

Which would you guys prefer? One of these for worker pics, or the CVerse Blue background (which is what they currently are in the data)?

So, for those who would prefer just the default CVBlue Background, would you be okay with a black and white version of that, to represent the era - like I just put above? (and ease the transitioning process into the 'color' era, which would start around the time workers from CV70s start entering the game.) I'm perfectly fine with making multiple picture packs for different preferences, if need be, as I myself prefer the second and third options out of yesterday's post.

I can't wait to see this because I'm working on something similar. My own fictional universe starts in the aftermath of World War II with the birth of wrestling on network television.

However, when I started playing with a TEW version (originally in TEW 2016), I decided to go beyond "the genius behind the TV revolution was a pre-war wrestler who lost a leg on D-Day" and actually start the mod in 1933 (birthdate of a central historical figure) instead of 1946.

Unlike your mod, though, the war has a massive impact on my universe - the first Japanese promotion is started (secretly) by American forces occupying the country. Something similar happens in Berlin, leading to a Soviet version of the sport becoming a big deal in the Eastern Bloc.

So, with a 1933 start, I've got the impacts of the war planned - I just have to make it all work with the game mechanics.

I'd actually prefer b/w pictures since it would coincide with in-game newsletter and generally add to the feel of old timey wrestling, maybe you need to add more contrast tho like in movies from that era

It's been a while, but I'm here to say that I have begun completely reworking this mod. With encouragement from our beloved Historian, I regained interest in finishing this and getting out to the PEOPLE! However it'll take some time, as I decided to completely re-do everything I had and start from the ground up - meaning new characters, new everything. I am going to keep some of the "original" plans, but I really like the direction I've taken it now as it feels more natural and fleshed out than it did previously.

While I don't have much to show just yet, I can at least show off some biographies:

*Is conveniently a month late to the question*

HELLO ALL!
This is a dead project, indeed. What started as a random thought concocted and developed into a WIP-mod soon found itself sitting on my mod-making shelf and since the last "update" there has been *0* progress made on the database. That said, it still remains something I may return to at some point in the distant future. Just not right now or anytime really soon. I have since learned to render for myself, and dabbled in graphic design & other shenanigans, and I have my hands in several project cookie jars (as well as working all the time in the real life life of yours truly) - including an entirely fictional verse of my creation that should hopefully come out some time within the next 18 months! (I know, truly an inspiring deadline to have.) So I'm quite the busy lady these days.

But to tl;dr it: Cornellverse 1931 will not happen now, or anytime soon. It may happen in 2031 though, thus giving you a full one hundred years to experience. 😝
