That said, I really like how the stories/characters are progressing in this version. They don't quite feel like they "belong" yet in the Main Event.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I agree, 100%. </p><p> </p><p> I think ATOMIC will become a little more well-rounded in the next month (as he will get a spotlight moment challenging Remo for the WHC). That said, he's more of an old-school character at this point; less talking... more brawling. </p><p> </p><p> Mikey Lau is someone that I've struggled with. He has great ability/look but he is lacking due to the fact that he can't talk. The Cornellverse is severely lacking in legit managers; so, I don't have someone who can step in and speak for him. If I can find that, that may help in this process. </p><p> </p><p> As touched upon earlier, I do have a version of Lau that I do want to tell. I put him (Lau) in angles with other top guys with him rated on entertainment and he pulls 90s and above. I am finding that 70 with star quality and good popularity gets a huge boost

Lau needs someone or something to create the kind of shift you're looking for. Maybe someone he has some sort of relationship with and it draws inspiration whether in a spiritual sense or it motivates him to be better(or worse if you want to make him more diabolical)...finding that missing ingredient is hard even if you know what it is because it IS all about fit...

Just wanted to comment on some of the above comments and think Eisen is always one of your better characters. You make us hate him more and more - that’s his job! I responded to that question in terms of your booking when I picked Remo. I think your iteration of Remo is slightly disappointing this go around. A man of his size and stature, seems to be lingering a bit under Chase and The Supremacist’s shadow. I liked your previous characters of him - big, dominating, unstoppable, lone wolf. Think he misses that aura With a group of stars around him.

 

Atomic and Lau, I tend to agree with the others but you can sense a slow build for those guys. It’s much harder for faces to book interesting characters, but think you’re doing a great job with those two - while being slow and methodical with your character shift.

 

RISE was a cracker show, I like the layout and what you’re doing with these guys. I’m most looking forward to seeing what you do with Hellion. One of my favs!

Just wanted to comment on some of the above comments and think Eisen is always one of your better characters. You make us hate him more and more - that’s his job!

 

Eric, both in the Cornellverse and in this project, is someone you really want to despise. He became a 'star' in the ring primarily because of his name (he has decent skill but not enough that would have warranted the push he had). Now, he's retired and STILL a major part of the program. In that vein, I would venture to guess that most wrestling fans would be very much over him (and have been for some time).

 

The "Eric + Emma" 'Celebrity/Influencer Authority Figure' persona was fun to write. That said, it was starting to get to the point where a change was necessary. With the newest version, it creates a darker side to Eric. Also, it places some strain on his relationship with Emma Chase (as she seems more cautious about working with Scythe).

I totally see what you're saying. Remo was pretty bad a$$ when he was an unstoppable lone wolf. In my mind, there's two reasons for the change in this project:

 

1) I've written that character countless times and I wanted something new.

 

2) Remo is in a "different time of his career" in this version of the game. No longer a young powerhouse, Reem is starting to get there in age. Knowing this, it's easier for him to align with the Supremacists -- even if loosely (as he's more aligned with Emma Chase). He wants to 'count his money' now, sit back and take the easier road.

 

This is the perspective I'm running with with the new version of Remo. Does that mean he'll never go back to the version you said above? No. He could. Just not at this point.

A slow build has certainly been my plan. Then, "The World is Watching" happened and they were thrust in the main event scene. In my mind, while the fans (in this case, the readers) voted them in, I feel there would be a lingering feeling of "they're not ready yet"... even if they were voted into those spots a month or so back. Now, it's time to deliver or fall back into the background.

 

ATOMIC has the easier road. He's more over, has an easier character to write/book, and he's getting a spotlight moment with Remo. Last week, he not only went toe-to-toe with Remo but actually put the champion on his back. This was huge for the "Radioactive Wrecking Machine" -- as he's the first person in this project who has really given it to Remo. That alone, along with his rough-neck "Duke Nukem" character, gives him the chance to be something overall.

 

Mikey Lau, as I've alluded to several times, is much harder to "get there" due to his lacking skills on the mic. Again, as I've said before, I have a version of him in my mind that would work without needing to speak. That said, it's all about how I would get him there. Right now, there's no easy path to do so.

Hellion is a bonafide star in the making. All he needs is overness, really. With that in mind, he's going to get some heavy focus on RISE; as he's one of those wrestlers who could really make it big.

Agreed. This slowed down right around the time my computer died. Haven’t found the motivation to buy a new computer or play TEW since. Here’s hoping our interest will be revived!
