Does this effect anything negatively at all, do you know? I only ask because Adam specifically mentioned that Other TV Shows were "intended to be used for big shows that actually impact the wrestling world, not an exhaustive selection of what is on TV" so I'm hoping that having this many doesn't ruin some of the mechanics in some way.

I can't say anything about the long-term effects on the game for obvious reasons; however it does have a short term effect on the TV ratings (and therefore, finances) for wrestling shows competing directly against a big TV show or event - Breaking Bad for example, or The Superbowl, as it would have in real life.

You have an option of course, to negotiate with a broadcaster and change your timeslot, in order to get higher ratings of course. It adds an extra layer of realism to the game and I invite everyone to add the mod to their games and test, then come back to me with feedback for fine-tuning.

More TV shows may be added with time, or removed if it turns out that it negatively impacts important game mechanics.

Problem is some of those shows are not on TV anymore.

I tested this, the TV shows are running in their original airtime, and this mod can work for all mods. For example, Baywatch is on the mod, and runs from 1989 until 2001. Full House runs from 1987 until 1995. It doesn't run forever. If you start a game in 2020, you won't have Baywatch, but you will have TV shows and events that are currently still on air, from the Simpsons and Lucifer, to the FIFA World Cup and the Superbowl.

Oh, great! I didn't know that. That's dope.

The Sopranos at their best (later seasons) would get anywhere between an 8.4 to a 10.6 Nielsen TV rating, which equates to anywhere from 10 to 13.5 million viewers. Maybe it should be toned down a little.

WWE Vintage is an international WWE TV show that ran in Britain, South Africa, Indonesia, South Africa, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Croatia etc., so with that many broadcasting deals it is absolutely conceivable they'd get that many viewers, or something in that range.

But like Sopranos still run on 2020 its still get that viewers ? same questions about Spongebob do the show gets 9 million on 2020 ?

The Sopranos shouldn't be on TV in 2020. That has now been fixed. I will upload an updated version later today. I have also toned down Spongebob's ratings by a little bit.

Unfortunately the game doesn't allow for the ratings to be changed over time. You can't simulate the real life situation of Spongebob, or The Simpsons getting less popular over time. And I can't have The Simpsons at a low rating, because back in the 90s it was one of the most watched programs on TV. So there will be some inconsistencies of course, where some TV shows are more or less watched than they actually were during that particular time in their history, because the game doesn't allow you to change the size of the TV shows over time. They are generally created to simulate their peak popularity.

Could this be accounted for by breaking long-running series like those into different shows? "The Simpsons (1990s)" might be a ratings juggernaut. "The Simpsons (2020s)" might be a different story.

The whole point is to make things feel as real as possible, and when you open it up and see (The Simpsons 1990s)... I don't know, I guess it kinda defeats the point for me. Another thing I could do is lower the ratings across the board, find a middle ground of some sort.

I'd really like to hear suggestions as to which way I could go with this.

Tremendous work here, ropacm. Thank you so much. I totally forgot this was a feature until I saw it included in the '91 mod. It really helps make the game world feel alive and part of its time if using historical mods.
