DasRhodes
Volume-01: Wrestling Introduced Me to the Revolution Title History The wrestling industry is filled with thirsty bloodsuckers. I am going to change this. The wrestling industry has made itself off of the broken bodies of its performers. I am going to change this. The wrestling industry has swelled its finances whilst athletes fight each other for the scraps. I am going to change this. My name is David Starr - and I'm really good at professional wrestling. DasRhodes
Earlier today, David Starr conducted an online Q&A about his new wrestling endeavour, STARR Promotions Here are a few of the highlights: Q: What is STARR Promotions? A: STARR Promotions is aiming to set the benchmark of independent professional wrestling. We will not tie any wrestlers down to exclusive contracts, we will not take wrestlers from under the nose of other promotions. We aim to have independent wrestlers from all over the world showcase their talents. Q: Will STARR Promotions cover its wrestlers medical and travelling costs? A: Yes and yes. Q: Will STARR Promotions encourage inter-gender wrestling? A: Yes. STARR Promotions wants to give fans the shows they want. Any independent wrestler who wishes to compete under the STARR Promotions banner will be given opportunities. Q: Will you be a member of the active roster? A: I will compete on shows produced by STARR Promotions, but I don't intend to be the centerpiece. Q: Can we expect to see any NXT/NJPW/AEW talent on STARR Promotions? A: Although we wish all companies the best, we are only interested in showcasing the best independent talent from around the world. Q: What can we expect from your first show? A: Stay tuned. DasRhodes
STARR Promotions Statement Firstly, let me start with a thank you. To all the backstage crew and creative minds that have helped put the first two STARR Promotions shows together. To the fans who've turned up at both shows, you have been fantastic and your support goes a long way to helping us keep the independent scene thriving. Lastly, of course, a big thank you to all the independent wrestlers who have travelled from across the world to put on two fantastic shows. With that being said, STARR Promotions sadly does have to confirm the loss of a few talent over the past few weeks. As you've probably read online, Leo Rush and Dragon Bane have both taken deals with the WWE. It's unfortunate timing, but we appreciate they must take the deals that are right for them. We wish them both the very best. In addition to that, a couple of other wrestlers we were hoping to use in the near future have also been contacted to take roles in NXT and NXT UK. Despite a difficult few weeks that have disrupted some of our upcoming shows, STARR Promotions promises to continue showcasing the best independent wrestling talent the world has to offer. Our next show promises to be our biggest yet - and I have some fantastic news to share when we meet there. This could be the start of our revolution. Stay safe, David Starr. DasRhodes
STARR Promotions Presents: We the Indie III All matches have a 30 minute time limit. David Starr makes his way to the ring with a microphone to discuss his major announcement. "Thanks to everybody in attendance tonight. There's no point amping you up for an announcement. This is a wrestling show and I want to get the talking done so we can get to the grappling. I'm excited and honoured to announce a new independent governing body in professional wrestling - The Global Wrestling Union (GWU). We will work alongside this new organisation to help ensure independent wrestlers around the world get all the financial and medical help they need. It's a exciting development and I can't overstate how much I would love other independent promotions to join the GWU alongside STARR Promotions. Secondly, with the GWU forming, I'm happy to announce that championship belts will be making their way to STARR Promotions. Before all that however, we will host a tournament to showcase independent wrestling talent from around the world. Tweet us your favourite wrestlers, send us clips. We want the very best to take part in the first annual GWU Wrestling Open! I am an independent wrestling icon. David Starr thinks he's ground breaking? Look at the yellow brick road you're walking on. I laid every brick with my bare hands. DasRhodes
STARR Promotions Statement: Chris Hero Suspended STARR Promotions would like to thank all the fans who attended a brilliant weekend of wrestling. Sixteen wrestlers battled, until only one stood. We applaud all the participants of the tournament and extend our congratulations to eventual winner, Jonathan Gresham. With that being said, fans have asked us to address the ending of the show. First of all, I wish to apologise to any distress Chris Hero's actions may have caused any one in attendance. STARR Promotions does not condone any form of physical altercation that does not take place during an official match. Due to this, we have decided to take the strong stance of suspending Chris Hero for the next three months. We are keen to ensure an incident like this does not occur again. We are also working frantically to replace Jonathan Gresham's broken trophy. Again, STARR Promotions apologies profusely for Chris Hero's actions and are taking all of the required steps to ensure wrestler and fan safety at upcoming events. We do hope we will see you again at our next event - I think you'll really like this one. Stay safe David Starr
