<p>Meh, screen size should be adjustable and auto updates should be in the game. You shouldn't have to buy a new monitor to play this specific game. Luckily most of our community here is polite in offering you suggestions, but your criticisms are valid. Maybe just a softer approach would go farther? Saying the game is "unplayable" due to those two issues is a bit far fetched for me. </p><p> </p><p>

I will say I'm pretty sure both these issues have been addressed. I know I've specifically brought up the tedious updating process in previous games and was told it's basically not possible to auto update and things like that. why? i dont know im not a computer programmer. But the reasons were valid enough for me that I had a choice between living with it and playing the game happily or to stop playing.</p><p> </p><p>

I chose the former <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Should it be adjustable? That would be nice. But I disagree with the part of the quote that I put in bold.

Game designers would still be doing 640 or 800 resolution if people weren't forced to move forward a bit. Like me previous post in this thread states, the resolution of this game became the common minimum over 10 years ago. Should the game run in a tiny little box because some users out there are still rocking 1024x768 screens? Not in my opinion.

Plenty of games have minimum resolutions.

the frequent patches get frustrating but it's a good thing and now they are on a wednesday sunday schedule.

Frequent patches are a good thing, because errors are corrected and improvements made quicker. There are many AAA games that come out broken that you have to wait weeks between patches, or "known issues" sit unchanged for months. Adam is far more responsive.

Hey don't sweat it mate. As another user said, you should be able to change your screen resolution rather than purchase a whole new monitor/PC just for this game.

I'm on Mac and have to change resolution every time I boot up the game. It's a little bit of a nuisance but nothing game-breaking. Give it a shot (you might have to Google how to do this, I'm unsure how Windows users change resolution these days) and hopefully you can get this sorted.

1280x1024 is a 5:4 aspect ratio. Which means he doesn't have a viable option to get it naturally full screen. He may have to go up to get the vertical right, and then live with half the screen being wasted. There are some odd ball square monitors out there that use these formats. And there is no solution other than finding an old 2nd gen flatscreen TV and nab that sucker on the cheap.

1024 x 768 for the vast majority of players today is TINY. I am sorry you are frustrated, but unfortunately you have to cut off 15+ year old hardware at some point from support.

Yep, because it's not like Adam is using 30-year-old softwar..... oh wait.

you've got me worried about the lifespan of this new monitor if you're trying to "work out how to mod it" when you even said yourself you're not pc savvy

monitor mod? what?

Yeah... I hope you're just misusing the language and you need an HDMI converter or something because if not... you can get a 24in 1080p 60Htz monitor for like 80 bucks these days.
