NWA POWERRR is back, and back to its roots!

As "Into the Fire" plays, one again the show's official intro, we go to our new announcing team.

 

 

Chris Marquez and Joe Galli are both back, but this time they are our duo of commentators for NWA Powerr! They welcome us to the return of NWA Powerr "back and better than ever"! They hype tonight's show and leaves us in the hand of the new announcer/interviewer for Powerrr at the desk...

 

 

Sean Mooney! He's back! Mooney says he's proud to still be a part of the NWA, although he debuted just before the pandemic. He assures us that everything is being taken care of so that everyone here, talent or in the audience, is safe. We see that the audience is wearing mask and that there is a 1-seat separation between all groups. Mooney welcomes the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis, and he's not alone...

 

 

 

 

Aldis gives an emotional speech about the tough time the world is going through. He says that although we live in a dangerous time, he's made for this. He's made for adversity, danger and crisis. He will continue to represent the NWA and to entertain those who watch religiously their programing. He knows the families of this country are going through a lot, so he wants to be there for them. He wants to be in their lives, in their home, to entertain them and give them the best pro wrestling has to offer.

 

He also says a lot of things changed. As we can notice, there's been a change of personnel... Royce Isaacs is no longer with the NWA, but Strictly Business prevails. Nick Aldis enlisted his former tag team partner, a friend, a mentor, a veteran wrestler... Doug Williams. He says Doug will act as the veteran advisor of Strictly Business... And Thom Latimer's tag team partner as they regain the NWA World Tag Team Champion. As for Kamille? She's still the most badass woman wrestler alive, and Aldis says she wil also hold gold in the NWA.

 

Aldis still reigns supreme, and he tells us that he will take on all challenger, because that is his job. He will continue to be the real world heavyweight champion.

 

 

Mike Bennett enters the fray. He wanted to be the first one to come out tonight, but that's the champion's role, so he settled on being the second to come out... He recently failed to take the NWA World Heavyweight Championship from Nick Aldis at the UWN Supershow. Bennett says that's not the end of the road, though. He fought addiction, pain, rejection, and he's still seeking for his redemption. That's why he challenges Nick Aldis to a rematch.

 

Of course, Aldis is quick to refuse. He already beat Bennett, what gain is there in a rematch so soon? What money is there to make? What prestige is there to gain? Aldis flat out refuse this challenge, because Mike Bennett is not an A+ player.

 

 

"YEAH ?!... YEAH ?!... YEAH ?!... LEMME TALK TO YOU!"

 

Before the pandemic, Eli Drake was one half of the world tag team champions, and that was great! But now James Storm is gone, the belts are vacated, and what is there to do? Go after the tag straps, AGAIN? No no no. Eli Drake wants to take things to a whole new level. Because he was there for the rebirth of the NWA. He set out goals, he fought men, he claimed glory... But that's not enough. You see Eli Drake was there at this podium 1 year ago for the start of NWA Powerrr, and he said he would be NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He hasn't accomplished this goal, so he challenges Nick Aldis.

 

Bennett and Eli Drake argue a little off mic, but Doug Williams takes the mic. The veteran is of few words, he says that back in England when we want something we fight for it. They want to go after Nick Aldis? They have to go through him and Big Thom first! Williams challenge them to a tag team match in tonight's main event!

1. Trevor Murdock def. Sal Rinauro. This match was all Murdock, as the recently crowned NWA National Champion made quick work of the extravagant Sal Rinauro who tried to avoid him all match, letting out so rather noisy and childish screams. Murdock ends the match in quick fashion with a Texas Lariat.

 

 

 

Sean Mooney is with Trevor Murdock and ask him what's on his mind following winning the NWA National Championship a few weeks ago. Murdock says that the pandemic hit hard. It hit his family, it hit his friends. So winning the NWA National Championship... Yeah, of course it was for pride. Of course it was for glory. But it was also for money. He needed that champion's purse. Every day he does eveything to put meals on his kitchen's table. He fights, he farms, hell sometimes both at the same time! So as long as this economic crisis, he will carry on being the champion. He has to! He will also look to become one half of the Tag Team Champions, become more gold means more money, and he needs it.

 

"Ladies and gentlemen a real blue collar, hard working southern man is this Trevor Murdock. The champ ladies and gentlemen!... Back to you Chris & Joe."

2. Allysin Kay def. Marti Belle. In this competitive women's match, former NWA Women's World Champion Allysin Kay got the edge after around 8 minutes of match. The story was clear here: the technically superior Kay dominated most sequence, but Marti Belle came back each time with some quick moves. The experience of the former champ paid off though as the surprised Belle with a spear.

 

 

 

Allysin Kay takes a microphone. She says she won't go to the stand to be interview by Sean Mooney, in fact she won't leave that ring. Because she's the former NWA Women's World Champion. She stresses the first letters : N...W...A... Kay says she put NWA's women's division on her back one year ago. And what is Thunder Rosa doing? Galavanting on TNT with the championship. Using the belt as a stepping stone to national TV and what she perceives as greater fame. Kay says Rosa is doing what Madusa did when she through down a championship in a bean: she's disrespecting it and the whole division! Kay wants Thunder Rosa right here and right now.

 

 

The champion comes out. She heard Kay and she's really frustrated. She's not using the NWA Women's Championship, she's promoting it on National TV! She's not disrespecting the division, she's putting it on HER back now. She's the champion so it is HER responsability, and not Allysin's. But she heard her, she made her point. If she wanted a championship match, all she had to do was ask... That's why next week they will fight on the Main Event of POWERRR, for the NWA Women's World Championship!

 

Segment ends with Rosa holding the belt in the air and having a facedown with her challenger.

3. Doug Williams & Thom Latimer def. Eli Drake & Mike Bennett. Our Main Event was a 13 minutes match that was clearly aimed to steal the show. All men shone as Thom Latimer utilized his brute strength, Doug Williams his veteran experience, Eli Drake his raw power and Mike Bennett his athletic abilities. Despite the cheating from Kamille at ringside, Eli Drake got Williams for the Gravy Train, but his partner Mike Bennett struck him in the back, leaving Doug Williams to finish the job with a Bomb Scare.

 

 

 

 

 

Once again, Strictly Business is at the top of NWA Powerrr. We see Nick Aldis entering the ring and shaking hand with Mike Bennett, as it is now clear that his former challenger is part of his alliance. Aldis smiles at the sight of Eli Drake still semi-unconscious from the match, and lifts the NWA World Heavyweight Championship up high. Strictly Business now has 4 men.

Chris Marquez and Joe Galli welcomes us to this all new episode of NWA Powerrr: Episode 23 "Pride vs. Thunder 2"! But right now, we go to the podium, as Sean Mooney is here to interview someone.

 

 

Mooney is with Mike Bennett and he asks the obvious question which is on everybody's mind: why? Why did Mike Bennett join Strictly Business? Bennett says it's in the name: he did what's best for him. He did what's best for HIS business.

 

One month ago, he challenged Nick Aldis for the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. An episode of Ten Pounds of Gold went to great length about his past failures, his battle with addiction, self-doubt, depression and despair. This challenge was his chance to get his redemption, to get his name back. It was a mean of validating himself, not just as a professional wrestler, but as a human being... And he lost.

 

He hit rock bottom, but after the bell, one man came to him. Nick Aldis came to the back and shake his hand. Nick Aldis told him how great of a match it was, and he told him something else. Nick Aldis was in the same position as Mike Bennett back in 2017: he was undervalued, he was neglected. People saw him as a failure, a reject. He also was a journeyman who spent time with different organisations. He also wasn't seen as a "pure wrestler", as a "pretty boy" who didn't have what it takes to make it. But he won the NWA World Championship, and everything changed. Now you THINK it changed because he won, but Aldis told Mike Bennett it only changed the perception that people had of him... But what does he care? Nick Aldis told him: f**k the perception of other people! What matters is being validated by your peers. What matters is self-appreciation... And what matter is business. On this night Nick Aldis made him an offer he couldn't refuse, so he stopped caring what other think and he started focusing on his brand, his perception of himself, and his well-being.

 

Mooney asks him why they needed to make this alliance known in such a vicious way, with a betrayal of Eli Drake in last week's Main Event. Bennett says it was a set up from the beginning. Doug Williams is the brain of Strictly Business, he's their advisor, and he knew having him challenge would bring out the next self-proclaimed challenger. Whoever it was, someone would want to make his case... And it was Eli Drake. Bad luck for him. The plan was always to have this challenger, one or two if they were two of them, to come out. Then, they just had to challenge them, make them believe he was on their side, and boom, job is done. As for the why?...

 

 

"I'LL TELL YOU WHY, BECAUSE YOU'RE A SNAKE, SON!"

 

Eli Drake is pissed off, and Mike Bennett wisely steps away from the stand. Meanwhile, two refs get in between as to prevent things from getting physical. Drake says he doesn't like his meal being stolen, he doesn't like the Kardashians, and he HATES being hit in the back. But that's okay for him: Bennett made a business choice, fair enough. Eli Drake's all about that "BIZ-NESS". He still has his mind on the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, but he has the feeling Strictly Business is going to make him jump through hoops to get it. That's fair. That's "BIZ-NESS". Going through all of them one by one in order to have a shot, that's "BIZ-NESS". And Drake assures Mike Bennett that the day he beats his ass up and down Atlanta GA and the NWA studio, it will be nothing personal, only "BIZ-NESS".

 

Eli Drake storms out of the stage as Mike Bennett has a grind on his face. Sean Mooney thanks him for his time and says we have an upcoming match, right now.

1. Aron Stevens (/w. Question Mark) def. JR Kratos. As the muscular JR Kratos tried to impose his strength on Black Belt Mongrovian Karata practioner Aron Stevens, the former Damien Sandow was ducking and escaping, and doing literally everything he can to avoid direct contact. He instead distracted the referee multiple time to allow the Question Mark to hit Kratos. In the end, after 5 minutes of cat and mouse play, Question Mark hit Kratos in the throat with his "Death Touch" while Stevens distracted the ref. Aron finished with a roll up and acted as if he won a world championship afterwards.

 

 

 

 

Sean Mooney invites Stevens and Question Mark to the podium. He reminds everyone that on the last episode of Powerrr before the pandemic, Stevens was entrailed in a rivalry with Trevor Murdock, and now, Murdock is the NWA National Champion, a championship that Aron Stevens once had. What are his thoughts on that?

 

Stevens says that he still has his focus and "qi" on Murdock, and regaining his 3rd degree NWA National Belt, with the strength of Mongrovian Karate. - Like usually, each time Stevens pronounces karate, Question Mark corrects him: "Ka-Ra-Tay". Mooney tells Stevens that Murdock is already in the middle of something else, as he will team with Tim Storm in the Crockett Cup, and they will have their first round match next week against the Briscoe Brothers! Stevens grins and takes the pose: "next week you say?... Huh." He then leaves, leaving Sean Mooney Dumbfounded. Mooney then asks Question Mark if he has anything to say... "Ka... Ra... Tay...".

It seems to be all Strictly Busines tonight, as Thom Latimer comes out. Joe Galli at the desk tells us that it was not scheduled but Latimer gets to the interviewer podium.

 

Latimer is pissed, like... Always? He wants to make it clear that because Royce Isaacs isn't here anymore, the Wildcards are gone. He IS the ultimate Wildcard. He's not the NWA World Tag Team Champion anymore, but he tells us that with the experience, the sheer veteranship of Doug Williams, he will win the Crockett Cup and win back the NWA World Tag Team Championship. He then proceeds to mock all of the participants: "two japanese strongmen", "old sad broken down Tim Storm" who he promises to send back to "Mamma Storm" is he makes it to the second round. The Briscoes who he says are "dumb hillbillies". He says SoCal Distancing are gonna get their asses distanced to the moon if they cross his path. He dismisses SCU as soft entertainers, and says he already whooped "The Enterprise" numerous times.

 

 

Tim Storm has taken exception to what Latimer just said and comes out, the first time since the relaunch of NWA Powerrr this Fall. Storm says he crossed path many times with Strictly Business. They screwed him over the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. They played games with him. And he didn't forget that it's Latimer's "Miss" that tricked him. Latimer takes offense at Storm mentioning Kamille and gets in his face. Three refs get in between as Latimer screams like a madman. Storm offers Latimer to meet in the ring, right now.

 

 

2. Thom Latimer def. Tim Storm. The story of the match was Tim Storm trying to prove himself against the younger, more athletic Latimer. He provoked him into numerous tests of strength, and surprised us all by winning some of them: old man still has a lot left in the tank! In the end, Latimer exhausted him though, as the 12 minutes match began to see Storm getting gassed out. Latimer finished him with a brutal Curb Stomp.

 

Post match, medics came to Tim Storm to see if he was ok, as the Curb Stomp left him unconscious.

3. Thunder Rosa © def. Allysin Kay to retain the NWA Women's World Championship. There was lot of history and tension in this match. Thunder Rosa first won the title from Allysin Kay. She then retained it but after the intervention of former allies Marti Belle and Melina. This was a match between two visions of what the NWA World Women's Championship should be. Rose believes it's her role to wear it on national TV and defend it all around the world. AK believed Rosa was using the title as a stepping stop, rather than promoting it.

 

The match was full of intensity, as it totally stole the show for 16 minutes. There was a lot of back-and-forth, with Allysin Kay hitting a lot of powermoves and Rosa coming back with MMA-inspired strikes. In the end, Allysin Kay hit a powerbomb, but Rosa held on to her after the impact, and applied a triangle choke to make her tap.

 

 

 

 

The champ held to gold at the end of this show, her hand raised up high. She helped Allysin Kay to her feet, but the challenger rebuked her and left the ring angry with the outcome of the match that she thought she won. But the credits didn't appear and there was 6 minutes left of show on Youtube, so you know something's about to happen, right?

 

 

 

 

Out came NWA World Heavyweight Champion "the National Treasure" Nick Aldis, sharply dressed and arboring sweet Charlotte under his arm, a microphone in the other hand. He stepped into the ring and talked to Rosa. He wanted to be the first to congratulate her. He tells her he knows the heavy weight that this championship is synonymous with. Rosa has to bear the torch lighted by Mildred Burker all this years ago. She has to be the best woman wrestler in the world. She has to be great. She has to be the spokeswoman for women's wrestling. It's a heavy burden, the same that he bears for men' wrestling. Being the NWA Women's World Champion is a great honor...

 

Rosa smiles, but Aldis freezes her with his last words: "... and I think you're not fit to it." From behind Thunder Rosa comes Kamille, this looks like a set up!

 

 

 

 

Kamille floors Thunder Rosa from behind. Nick Aldis tells everyone that Kamille is the best suited to carry this torch. She's a superior athlete. She got a real mind for wrestling. And she LOVES wrestling, she's not dwelling with MMA and other stuffs like Thunder Rosa. Kamille eats, sleeps, breathes wrestling, just like him. That's why they're business associates. And that's why SHE is the best suited to carry the torch of Women's Wrestling in the United States and all over the world.

 

Show ends with Kamille picking up the NWA Women's World Championship and kissing it before laying it on top of Rosa's body.

EPISODE 24: THE CROCKETT CUP COMETH

Dave Marquez and Joe Galli welcome us to this all new episode of NWA Powerrr: Episode 24 "The Crockett Cup Cometh"! Earlier this year, the Crockett Cup Event was cancelled due to the COVID19 pandemic. But the Crockett Cup is still here! Tonight, we begin the tournament with two first round matches. Next week, we'll have the other 2 first round matches. Then, in two weeks, in a special 1h30 "Super Powerrr", we will have the semi-finals and the finals of the tournament! And it starts NOW!

1. Tim Storm & Trevor Murdock def. The Briscoe Brothers to advance in the Crockett Cup. It was a classic opposition of style and philosophies in this match. The olders and more experienced Murdock wrestled the battle tested but younger and more athletic Briscoe Brothers. The story of the match was the Briscoes having superior coordination against the makeshift team of NWA National Champion Trevor Murdock and former NWA World Champion Tim Storm. The match was going in favor of the Briscoes, when out came...

 

 

 

 

Aron Stevens and The Question Mark made their presence known. They went after their rival Murdock, trying to cost him the match. But being the clumsy fools that they are... They ended up winning Murdock the match, hitting him just in front of the referee thanks to a botched interference. Murdock & Storm thus won by disqualification.

 

 

 

 

As you can guess, the two crazy rednecks that are Jay and Mark Briscoe were MAD. Upon realizing what just happened, they turned their attention to Stevens and the Question Mark, and began comically chasing them around the ring. Stevens and Question Mark escaped behind the podium, leaving the Briscoes dumbfounded next to the interviewer podium. Jay Briscoe turned to Sean Mooney and grabbed a microphone on the way: "HEY STEVENS!... MASKED BUFOON!... WE ARE THE BRISCOE BROTHERS!... And you just made your FINAL MISTAKE!"

After a quick commercial break about a local car dealer, we go back to the interviewer stand

 

 

Sean Mooney is with NWA World Television Champion "The Pope". He asked him about being in the Crockett Cup with Erick Stevens, a journeyman wrestler who just came out of retirement two years ago and a man he had no prior association with. A pompous Pope tells that HE is a man of great generosity. He had a spot in the Crockett Cup, and decided in all his graciousness to help someone in need. Erick Stevens is a poor soul, a man that is once again contemplating retirement, a lost soul. He offered him a spot in his Congregation AND in the Crockett Cup, and Erick Stevens accepted. Mooney asked him where is Stevens. Pope dismiss the question and tells Mooney to ask him about his upcoming title defense. Mooney reluctantly does so, and Pope introduces us to his hand-picked challenger en route to 7 title defence and a NWA World Heavyweight Championship shot... Local wrestler Anthony Bennett.

 

 

 

 

2. The Pope and Anthony Bennett wrestled to a 7 minutes time limit draw. The Pope makes defence number 1 of his NWA World Television Championship. We almost had an upset in this match! The Pope underestimated the young Anthony Bennett and got surprised in the very first second of the match with a superkick for a 2 count. Pope regained control of the match, but every time he had his opponent in control, he began tauting and playing to the crowd, losing his advantage. Bennett fought an uphill battle, but the champ's lack of focus allowed him to hit him with his Buzzcut. However, Bennett was too exhausted and didn't manage to make the pin until the 7 minute time limit expired.

 

 

 

 

Post match, an exhausted and irrate Pope grabs the title belt and leaves the studio, refusing any comment when Mooney approaches him in order to interview him. Anthony Bennett is seen frustrated in the ring, but he sure made his name known in the NWA tonight.

E-LI-DRAKE makes his way to the commentators' table. Marquez and Galli welcome him as Drake says he just wants to have an eye on Strictly Business tonight, because hey, he's the uncrowned #1 Challenger according to him! Galli remarks that he didn't earn the spot and Drake corrects him: "yet". He announces that he will face "that rat" Mike Bennett NEXT WEEK. He also comments on Aldis & Kamille attack on Thunder Rosa. According to him, their "BIZ-NESS" methods are dogsh*t. Thunder Rosa is a great champ and he has all his support. Eli Drake makes a few jokes at the expense of Galli and we go to commercial.

And this commercial is a special commercial promoting Nick Aldis' 800 days as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He now cumulates in more than 1100 day between his two title reigns, an astonishing fact. He's currently the 7th man with the most cumulative day as a champion, and will soon surpass Gene Kiniski.

3. Strictly Business (Thom Latimer & Doug Williams /w. Kamille) def. Strong BJ (Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi) to advance to the semi-finals of the Crockett Cup. Thom Latimer almost matched his opponents strength, but the same cannot be said for Doug Williams. The skilled veteran used malice to stay in the pace of the match. Still, Latimer did most of the heavy work and quickly got exhausted fighting the two puroresu warriors in front of him. Kamille tried to interfere on behalf of her husband, but someone came to stop her...

 

 

 

 

Rosa chased Kamille to the back under the screams of joy by Eli Drake at the announcing desk who applauded her. That left Thom Latimer distracted, and Sekimoto hit him with a lariat behind the back and an O'Connor Roll... But Doug Williams rushed to the ring, kicked Sekimoto in the back so that the roll was reversed, and jumped at Okabayashi on the apron. The roll was reversed, and the pin counted for Latimer... Thanks to Doug Williams' trickiness, Stricly Business wins and advance to the secound round!

 

 

 

 

Aldis, Marquez and Galli pondered on what we jusr saw. Galli specified that Strictly Business didn't cheat and were just smarter. Drake notes that this is not a way of winning, they lack "flair". Drake criticized again Striclty Business, and promised that next week he'll whoop Mike Bennett's ass all over Atlanta GA.
