NEW Road To Ruin 2020

Location: Norwich, Connecticut

Attendance: 61

[The show begins with a pre-taped video showing NEW owner Buddy Garner announcing that the first round match-ups for the NEW Championship Tournament will take place at next month’s show in Providence, Rhode Island.

Buddy then names the seven men who will take part in the tournament, before adding there will be an eighth “mystery man” who will also be involved in the tournament. We are then shown a graphic of the brackets for the tournament.]

LDuFPt6.jpg?1

[After that segment is done we head over to the announcer’s table where Rob L. Miskovsky gives us a rundown of the matches that will be on the show tonight. Once he is done doing that, we head up to the ring for the first bout of the night.]

[before the first match of the night can begin, the ring announcer informs us that SJW is so upset over the destruction of his safe space during the previous month’s show, that he is unable to issue a trigger warning to the crowd tonight.

The fans start clapping and cheering, which causes SJW to become enraged. SJW shouts out to the crowd, “Stop it, you fascists! Stop it!”, which causes the fans to start chanting, “Shut up snowflake.”]

Mullet Mike vs. Seth James Wilson

Match:

  • The match begins and it would seem that SJW is channeling all of his pent up rage that he has due to the destruction of his safe space and the way the fans treated him prior to the start of the match.

  • SJW began nailing Mike with lefts and rights, but none of them seemed to bother the Blue Collar Brawler from Boston.

  • In the end, it was just another rough night for NEW’s resident social justice warrior as SJW lost the match after taking a Gordbuster from the man with the 80’s haircut.

Winner: Mullet Mike

Time: 6:28

Match Rating: 23

[We are now shown a pre-taped video package featuring Jet Set, who are sitting poolside at a very dilapidated looking motel. Jack Pryde is on his cell phone talking to someone and when he finishes he looks over at Rocco and shakes his head.]

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Prime Time Jack Pryde: Sorry it looks like we’re stuck here for the night. I can’t believe that NEW management would stick the three of us in a place like this. My lawyer said there was nothing in our contract that said NEW couldn’t put us in a place like this, so yeah we’re stuck.

fnEgmso.jpg?1

Rocco Renoir: This place sucks. When we agreed to join this backwoods promotion we were told by Buddy that the company would pay for our travel and lodging. Now don’t get me wrong we can afford much better than this, but if someone is offering you something for free you take it.

Plus this place is infested with rats and I am not talking about the good kind. I saw one just a few minutes ago eating a rotten apple near the door to my room.

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Prime Time Jack Pryde: The really messed up thing is, I think it is intentional. I know for a fact, that fat ass BP SWOLL is staying at that really nice hotel right inside the casino because of course, NEW management would put him up there. That place is renowned for its all you can eat buffet and you know that fat ass BP SWOLL must love him an all you can eat buffet.

After relaying that tidbit of information my lawyer spoke to Buddy about that. Buddy informed my lawyer that our staying here was a quote, unquote clerical error. Clerical error my ass, I know Buddy doesn’t want us to be well-rested and why would he. It is clear that Buddy does not want us to be bright-eyed and bushy tallied for our match against the hometown hero Nate DeMarcus and that morbidly obese idiot BP SWOLL.

No, Buddy would rather have us lose because it does not look good for the hometown hero to lose in front of his family and friends.

fnEgmso.jpg?1

Rocco Renoir: Yeah man. What I don’t get is why is Nate even being billed as a hometown hero. The dude lives like an hour away.

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Prime Time Jack Pryde: Why? Because Buddy knows he can make a buck off these stupid fans by billing him as the hometown hero.

Honestly, do you think any of the people that attend NEW shows know anything about geography? If I was a betting man I would say the vast majority of the fans are functional illiterates. Maybe even inbred for all I know.

[Rocco and Jack are now joined by the third member of Jet Set, Tavon Blake Jr., who seems to be very happy.]

fnEgmso.jpg?1

Rocco Renoir: Dude why are you so happy? You do know we have to stay in this cesspool for the entire night.

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: Man I don’t even care because I just found out I am gonna be in the NEW Championship Tournament fellas. That’s right fellas, the big man is gonna crack some folk's heads on my way to becoming the first NEW Champion.

[both Rocco and Jack look annoyed over this revelation, but Tavon is completely oblivious to how they feel as he is thrilled.]

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: Come on fellas, let's celebrate the Jet Set way. Let’s paint the town red, cuz I am feeling hyped right now. Ain’t nothing gonna bring me down.

fnEgmso.jpg?1

Rocco Renoir: Dude I am not ashamed to admit this, but I am legit afraid to reenter my room. Like legit.

So much so, that I am thinking of wrestling in what I have on right now and just leaving all of my stuff in the room and never coming back for it. My stuff is probably littered with bed bugs anyway, so I don’t wanna touch any of it.

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Prime Time Jack Pryde: Same here Roc, there is no way in hell I am setting foot in that room again.

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: Damn guys, why can’t y’all be happy for me and stop complaining about your damn motel rooms?

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Prime Time Jack Pryde: Yeah, yeah. Congratulations and all of that jazz.

But I am not painting the town red tonight when I only have these jean shorts to wear. Come on guys let’s go.

hygYxmu.jpg?12Smg1BW.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpgfnEgmso.jpg?1cT2XViM.jpg?1 with 5gA1ObF.jpg?1

BP SWOLL & Nate DeMarcus vs. The Jet Set with Tavon Blake Jr.

Match:

  • Rocco and Jack come to the ring wearing flip flops and jean shorts like they were in the previous video. Jack clearly looks uncomfortable as he can be heard telling Rocco, “I can’t believe I have to wrestle barefoot, who knows what type of diseases I am going to catch!”

  • The match started out with Nate and Rocco in the ring, it was clear that Rocco wanted no part in wrestling the much bigger Nate.

  • Rocco tried using every stalling tactic in the book in order to not have to fight Nate and finally Nate got fed up and just started to beat the holy hell out of the cocky Canadian.

  • This momentum did not last long as Jack would distract Referee David Poker and this distraction would lead to Tavon entering the ring and attacking Nate.

  • BP was obviously none too happy about what Tavon just did and the big man went after Tavon on the outside of the ring, as Jack and Rocco managed to keep the now isolated Nate in their corner of the ring.

  • Rocco and Jack went to work on Nate’s right leg, the thought process was if they weakened Nate’s leg he would not be able to perform many of the strength-based attacks that are his modus operandi.

  • BP was able to take Tavon out of the picture and BP then got the crowd to start clapping their hands and stomping their feet.

  • A hobbled Nate seemed to feed off this positive energy from the crowd and he soon fought his way out of the Jet Set’s corner, he then hot tagged BP into the match.

  • The big man from San Diego had no trouble dealing with the much smaller members of the Jet Set.

  • BP looked like he was going to secure him and Nate a victory when he nailed Rocco with an especially impactful Pounce, BP then covered Rocco.

  • However, tonight BP and Nate would pick up their victory not by pinfall, but by disqualification as Tavon entered the ring and nailed BP in the back with a steel chair.

Winners by disqualification: BP SWOLL and Nate DeMarcus

Time: 7:33

Match Rating: 38

[The action was not done in the ring as Nate, BP, and the members of Jet Set continued to brawl. This was a brief brawl as a whole slew of NEW officials rushed down to the ring to keep both camps apart.]

[We are now shown a pre-taped promo with Carl Batch and Deathwish. The promo starts with Deathwish pacing back and forth, barking like a dog.]

0p54iew.jpg?1

Carl Batch: Tonight Deathwish the caged beast of Brutality Incorporated is going to be stepping into the ring with Astro. Now Astro, I don’t know you all that well. I ain’t sure if you speak or, being from Mexico, you don't understand English all that well, maybe you’re a little crazy, or you’re just plain stupid.

That is meant as a dig at you, it is more of an observation. Ya see, for the past three months since my boys have been working here, there has been one constant opponent they have faced and that opponent is you.

Which as I said before leads me to believe you are either crazy, dumb or cannot read the contracts you are signing. Because nobody would be foolish enough to face off against the members of Brutality Incorporated month after month...and yet here is your name on tonight’s show and you are taking on Deathwish.

Son, I feel sorry for you but there ain’t much I can do about it. Tonight you are gonna step into the ring with this mad dog and I have a funny feeling you are going to regret the day that you signed on to face off against Deathwish.

[Carl walks off the screen and Deathwish just stares blankly at the camera before he follows Carl off camera.]

qgXP1Tn.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpgMEvIueD.jpg?1 with 0p54iew.jpg?1

Astro vs. Deathwish with Carl Batch

Match:

  • The match begins and it would seem that Deathwish is not nearly as ready for Astro as Carl Batch previously claimed.

  • In fact, the young masked man from Mexico kept up a frenzied pace, and his attacks in this match would best be described as hit and run, Astro would hit Deathwish with a strike and then use his near-supernatural speed to get away from Deathwish before Deathwish could counter-attack.

  • Unfortunately for Astro, there was another factor involved in this match and that was Carl Batch.

  • Carl distracted Astro long enough for Deathwish to attack the young Mexican from behind.

  • From that point forward the animal that is Deathwish had caught his prey and it was clear what the outcome of the match was going to be.

  • One Swandive Headbutt later and Deathwish had secured the victory.

Winner: Deathwish

Time: 7:04

Match Rating: 15

Jerry Pepper & Onslaught vs. No Remorse

Match:

  • On commentary, Rob L. Miskovsky talked about how Remmy Honeyman and Cip Conduit are longtime friends from the independent circuit and the two men have decided to join forces to become the best tag team in NEW.

  • The pairing of Remmy and Cip is very interesting as Remmy is a more technical minded wrestler, while Cip prefers to straight-up brawl with anyone foolish enough to enter the ring with him.

  • No Remorse quickly isolated Jerry in their corner, not allowing him the opportunity to tag Onslaught into the match.

  • One Running Boot by Cip to Jerry would lead to No Remorse picking up their first victory as a new team.

Winners: No Remorse

Time: 6:02

Match Rating: 35

[We now are shown a pre-taped promo with Devil Dog.]

wL4h06T.jpg?1

Devil Dog: Tavon Blake Junior, folks around here say you are an athletic stud. That you are one of the most impressive workers here in NEW. Well, I have scouted you and it would seem those reports are accurate.

Tavon, tonight you and I are going to meet in the ring and we’re going to see just how elite of an athlete you are. Cuz tonight, you’re going to enter my field of play and I ain’t known to play very nice. So you can lift all the weights you want, you bring your two little cronies with you. I don’t care about none of that.

All that matters is when all is said and done you will tap to the Rear Naked Choke. Oorah!

wL4h06T.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpg5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Devil Dog vs. Tavon Blake Jr.

Match:

  • This match almost immediately spilled out of the ring as the two men brawled at ringside.

  • Referee Xander Summer warned the two combatants that they needed to return to the ring or run the risk of being counted out.

  • Both men heeded the warning and returned to the ring.

  • Upon returning to the ring, it was Devil Dog who shined as the former Marine doled out punishment to Tavon.

  • It looked like Devil Dog was on the path to victory, that was until Tavon managed to poke Devil Dog in the eye. Which an out of place Xander missed.

  • The tides turned in favor of Tavon who immediately went to work on Devil Dog’s left leg in the hopes of softening it up for the Figure Four.

  • Tavon was soon able to lock Devil Dog’s left leg into the Figure Four and just as Devil Dog looked to be on the verge of passing out from the pain, he (Devil Dog) somehow had enough reserved power to reverse the Figure Four.

  • This was quickly broken up when Tavon showed excellent ring awareness and grabbed the bottom rope.

  • It seemed like a fire was lit underneath Devil Dog though as he came back at Tavon with fury.

  • Devil Dog managed to get Tavon down on the canvas and once that happened Devil Dog applied the Rear Naked Choke on Tavon which caused Tavon the heavy hitter of the Jet Set to tap out.

Winner: Devil Dog

Time: 12:30

Match Rating: 38

[The cameras take us to a corridor in the backstage area of the arena. In that corridor we see Jerry Pepper laid out on the ground. He is clearly the victim of some sort of attack. We see the lower half of his attacker from the knees down, but we do not see the rest of his attacker.

However, his attacker can clearly be heard saying, “You made the biggest mistake when you decided to team with my ally Onslaught.” It is obviously clear as the day is long, that Jerry’s attacker was SJW, but as stated previously, SJW is not shown in the actual footage.]

[We are now taken to the locker room of Raphael who is lying on a couch being fed grapes by his girlfriend/manager Lucinda Larouche.]

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Langston Franklin...or as I know you as Lion Heart. Tonight we will meet for the first time in a NEW ring. But as we both know, this is far from our first encounter in the squared circle.

No, we have had our battles in the past both here in New England and in our native country Canada and you know what? I actually respect you.

That is not something I say often, but it is true. You see, when I first entered the independent wrestling scene in Calgary everyone and their mother compared me to you. They called me the next Lion Heart.

I took those comments as a compliment because truth be told I wanted to be the next Lion Heart. I wanted to be the good looking young stud with all of the potential in the world. I wanted to have the chicks in Calgary throw themselves at me like they did to you.

[Lucinda rolls her eyes, sticks out her tongue, and says...]

X2pReb2.jpg?1

Lucinda Larouche: You wanted to hook up with girls from Calgary? Ew...gross.

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Yeah well my standards were low back then. I mean obviously so if I wanted to be the next Lion Heart…

You see, I spent the first few years of my career so desperately wanting to be like you. And then I came to the realization that I did not want to be the next Lion Heart because I knew I was already far superior than you.

I am better looking than you, I am more talented in the ring than you, and I hate to be crass but I see some of the quality of women you hang out with and well let’s just say I have standards while you obviously don’t. I mean just look at Lucinda, none of those trailer park trash broads that you hang out with could hold a candle to my lovely Lucinda.

X2pReb2.jpg?1

Lucinda Larouche: Oh tiger you are so turning me on right now.

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: I know what I look like Lu, of course, I am turning you on. But I digress...anyway Lion Heart I have all the respect in the world for you and I know just how tough you are. But I hate to inform you that you are not going to be walking out of the ring tonight as the victor.

Simply because you are not in my class. I surpassed you a long time ago and tonight I am going to make you painfully aware of that fact. That’s not me being conceited love, that’s me telling the truth. After all, there is a reason why they call me the Golden Hair God, and tonight you are going to see just why that is the case.

s6NN1we.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpg9ODyyTw.jpg?1 with X2pReb2.jpg?1

Langston “Lion Heart” Franklin vs. Raphael with Lucinda Larouche

Match:

  • This was a fantastic match from bell to bell.

  • At the start both men managed to get their offense in with neither man really gained the upper hand in the match.

  • It was clear that these two men had fought many times in the past, as they both seemed to know exactly what the other was thinking.

  • At one point, a frustrated Raphael tried to call it quits and head back to the locker room as the fans serenaded him with boos.

  • Langston was having none of this, dragging Raphael back into the ring.

  • It seemed as if tonight might be the night that the Lion Heart would defeat the Golden Hair God as Franklin was in firm control of the action and managed to get in some near falls.

  • However, some timely interference from the lovely Lucinda would see Raphael back in the driver’s seat.

  • Raphael then nailed Langston with his finisher the Cupid’s Arrow and three seconds later Raphael scored yet another victory.

Winner: Raphael

Time: 14:23

Match Rating: 44

[We now go to the backstage interview area where the NEW backstage correspondent Tabitha Mara is standing by with Conner Threepwood.]

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabitha Mara: Conner tonight you are taking on the mysterious Masked Mauler. Can you give us any insight into what it is you have to do to beat someone like him?

tKgR2oc.jpg?1

Conner Threepwood: Well Tabitha, I have to be honest with you I am not sure what I have to do in order to defeat Mauler tonight. Because as you said he is a mystery to me, I have no idea who he is. I know he is the seventh incarnation of the Mauler and much like the previous versions, he is a submission specialist.

Other than that, I am not sure what it is that I have to do in my match against him tonight. Sure I have watched some footage of his previous matches but it was not nearly enough for me to try to formulate a winning game plan.

The fact of the matter is, tonight I am going into the ring blind. I don’t know what to expect and to be honest that is thrilling. I am looking forward to fighting the unknown and I am sure I will end up prevailing tonight.

tKgR2oc.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpg1MwpcyF.jpg?1

Conner Threepwood vs. The Masked Mauler VII

Match:

  • Both wrestlers in this match are all about submitting their opponents and we saw it right from the start as Conner tried to lock Mauler into his finisher the Stretch Plum and Mauler kept trying to put Conner into the Iron Claw.

  • The fans were fully behind Conner in this match and they reacted to any time he was in danger of losing during the contest with a chant of, “Conner, Conner, Conner”, ringing throughout the arena anytime Conner was in peril.

  • Conner’s biggest advantage in the match was the fact that he was the veteran of this match and those extra years in the business really helped him out as he used his excellent ring awareness to find the ropes and break any hold or pinfall that Mauler attempted to put on him.

  • Even though he wears a mask, it was clear through his body language that Mauler was upset that he could not do that one thing to secure the victory.

  • In the end, it was Conner who picked up the victory after causing the Mauler to verbally submit to the Stretch Plum.

Winner: Conner Threepwood

Time: 19:53

Match Rating: 43

Post-Show Notes:

1. First and foremost I would like to thank everyone who predicted in the prediction contest. Especially Herrbear and smw88 who joined in on the competition during this show. I never usually have a large prediction audience (That does not seem like the right term, but I am lacking a good term so I shall stick with that.) unless I am running an SWF diary. So I really do appreciate anyone who takes the time out of their day to predict.

There was a three-way tie at the top between Zergon, Herrbear, and KyTeran. I was thinking of doing a prize where whoever gets the most picks right can receive a "Cameo video" from anyone on the NEW roster of their choosing. For those who do not know what a Cameo is, it is a site where people pay a certain fee to have a celebrity send you a personalized video. You provide the celebrity with information as to what you would like them to talk about.

Now I can't promise that what I do will be anything great, but I thought it might be a fun thing to post between shows because there are times when there will be gaps between my shows and I try not to bump my show unless I am posting a prediction list or the actual show.

So yeah, if Zergon, Herrbear, or KyTeran would like a Cameo from anyone on the roster. Obviously, I none of you do then you don't have to. If you do, you can either post who you want it from and what topic you would like to talk about, within reason, here in the thread. Or you can PM me the details.

2. I noticed that a few people had Devil Dog losing. To be honest, I wrote this so long ago I thought Devil Dog had lost that match as well. The reason why he did not lose was that he simply had more New England popularity than Tavon and he refused to lose.

Devil Dog, being a PSW wrestler, keeps on gaining popularity at a rapid pace. Plus he is the tag champ in the Cape Cod promotion (Which by the way I believe smw88 made the logo for. It is such a cool logo, I wanted to have that as the name of this diary but I felt the name was even more regional than this name) with Dominic DeGraff (Sp? I don't have the game open to see if I spelled Dom's last name correctly.) so his popularity is always going up at a pace I would rather it not, but it is what it is.

3. No Remorse was supposed to debut as a tag, but I kept on booking them as singles wrestlers. So when I finally decided to put them together as a tag on this show, I just came up with the lame backstory as to why they are teaming together.

4. It was at this point in writing that I realized that the vast majority of the workers on the roster were unknown to anyone who would potentially read this. So that is why Devil Dog got some promo time on this show and some other workers will get promos in the upcoming shows.

It's tough because I want everyone to get their time but I simply cannot put the focus on as many workers as I would like to do so. Some I honestly don't have a clue as to what they would say in their interviews (The Masked Mauler comes to mind) and others like Mullet Mike stink at that sort of stuff so I really don't want to give them the time on the show.

I give Mike...um...mic time for this company's sister promotion and he bombs. The dude routinely pulls a zero to a five on every damn segment he's in. I was hoping with exposure in that promotion he would get better but it has yet to happen.

5. I know it is now a couple of days away, but I would like to wish everyone who reads this a safe and Happy New Year.

Mullet Mike vs. Seth James Wilson

This is actually a tough one. Mike had only one match so far but it was against Raphael so oponent was decently high caliber one while SJW looks to be jobber but one that gets plenty screen time. I decided to go with less screen time but with tougher opponent > plenty screen time but losing matches but we see if that´s correct or not.

I wouldn't get your hopes up on Seth James Wilson becoming anything of note anytime soon. The guy just does not gain popularity the way I would like him to. It seems like he has been stuck at the same popularity level for months.

Even at the point in the game where I am at right now, he is still leaps and bounds behind everyone on the roster. I think his popularity level in New England at the current point in the game is six and it has been there for a while.

He is one of the few that are not on both this roster and the Cape Cod roster. That might play a factor in why he has not improved as much as the others.

Astro vs. Deathwish

Would love to pick Astro here but he looks to be jobber and I prefer to pick who I think would win over who I would want to win when making predictions.

I would love to push Astro but with him being from Mexico, he had no starting popularity in New England so he has become the de facto babyface jobber. I will say his popularity has really grown a lot the further I have gotten into the diary, but unfortunately for him so has nearly everyone else's with the exception of SJW.

I am thinking of adding a Middleweight/Cruiserweight/Lightweight Championship as the vast majority of my roster are either middleweights or under. I am not sure I will end up doing that, right now where I am at in the diary is trying to get the tag team division some air time and eventually starting a tag team title tournament.

I also wanted to have a secondary title as well. Either an Openweight or a North American or something along those lines. But I am not sure I want to have three singles titles. This company is sort of influenced by MLW and that is what they currently have, so maybe I will end up doing that. I am just not sure at this point.

Mullet Mike vs. Seth James Wilson

It's called the Ballad of Mullet Mike. So he has to win!

I am sort of forced to push him even though he sucks. He might very well be the worst worker on the roster stats wise. But being from Boston his New England popularity makes him high up on the card.

He can't cut a promo, he sucks in the ring. But he does have an awesome mullet, so I guess there's that.

BP SWOLL & Nate DeMarcus vs. The Jet Set

I really like this team. I've always been partial to Nate DeMarcus and I think if you're going to use him to help bring BP Swoll along, it's a great position.

Same here, I think this is the third diary I have used him in. Plus his bio states he is from Rhode Island and the company is located out of there, so I feel obligated to have him in this diary.

I also wanted Leftie Wilkes but he was not located in New England anymore and his asking price was not worth it. I wanted as many New England based or people from New England, on this roster but I either could not sign them, I did not want to pay the money for them, or they just stunk (Extreme Deluxe I am looking at you, he put Cip on the shelf for two months in my Cape Cod promotion. That happened prior to the start of this diary.).

Astro vs. Deathwish -- His name is DEATHWISH

Every time I see his name I think of Charles Bronson. I am not going to lie, that's why I hired him as the psychopath of the company. I usually go with Mad Dog Mortimer or Jerry Martin for that role. But I just could not pass on someone with the name of Deathwish. I do have to work on showing just how crazy he is, I have not really conveyed it yet.

Jerry Pepper & Onslaught vs. No Remorse (Remmy Honeyman & Cip Conduit) -- Part of me likes Onslaught, but No Remorse makes more sense (I think)

I would love to push Onslaught into a role where he can stand out. I like his name and he's pretty good in the ring. But his popularity level is just not there.

I think if I were to make a lightweight belt, as I discussed above, he and Astro would benefit from it the most. I could easily see one of them as the champion.

[The following Cameo is of Mullet Mike as requested by Zergon. Mike is standing in what looks to be someone's (possibly his own) backyard. He’s wearing a white tank top that is covered in mustard stains. He has a lit cigarette hanging out of the left side of his mouth and he is holding a bottle of Samuel Adams New England IPA in his right hand.

Mike looks completely disheveled. Almost as if he just rolled out of bed after a night of partying. He begins to speak in his thick Boston accent.]

Mullet Mike: This video was requested by Zergon. That’s an odd name, that can’t be a real name?

Ah, that don’t matter. Oh look it says you’re from Finland...is that a real country? The reason why I ask is because I failed geology...or was it geography? What does it matter? I failed both of em.

Now I ain’t ever heard of no Finland. So I’ve got to wonder if that is a real place and if it is, then is that where all the retired Miami Dolphins players go? Cuz Dolphins have fins and everything.

If anyone knows me, they know I’m a Pats fan and I hate the Dolphins, the Jets, the Bills, and those damn Giants. Screw New York! But anyway...oh yeah you sent me a question…

So ah...it says here...ah...what are my goals in NEW and why am I here?

Well, I’ll answer the second part of ya question first. Why am I here? Honestly bro you’d have to ask my parents. They met when they were both drunk at an Aerosmith concert...Joey Kramer is God!

But yeah they met at an Aerosmith concert and nine months later I arrived so I guess that’s why I am here...man that’s actually deep. I never really thought about it...if it wasn’t for Steven Tyler...I wouldn’t be here bro. Damn that’s deep.

Now as for my goals in NEW...well...ah...I think I just want to make enough money to pay for my cigarettes and booze. If that happens then I am happy. Aside from the money...I just want to beat the ever living snot out of people.

Ya see bro, I ain’t ever been good at much of anything my entire life. But there are a couple of things that I am good at. One is knowing how to maintain this sweet mullet. Ladies love mullets. Two is being able to withstand a hella lot of pain and the third one is beating people up.

I hope you have a kick ass summer bro and thanks for the question.

Author's note:

If I remember right it says in Mike's in-game bio that he is stupid. So there is no way he would know anything about Finland. He probably never heard of it. Heck if I was a betting man, I would bet my real life friend, who I am basing Mike off of, has never heard of Finland. That is also why he did not understand Zergon's second question about why Mike is here.

Mike thinks Zergon is asking him why he is here on this planet, not why he is in NEW.

That answer did get a chuckle out of me so well played, sir. :D

Onslaught vs. Deathwish

Pretty sure Deathwish is higher on the ladders thanks to being associated with Batch who have had lots of promo time

Langston “Lion Heart” Franklin vs. The Masked Mauler VII

This was a tough one to me but Mauler has better win - loss record so I go with him based on that and the quality of the opponents who they have won/lost so far.

First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

Mullet Mike vs. Cip Conduit

Sorry Mike, don´t see you getting past first round here

First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

??? vs. Tavon Blake Jr.

I had Cip going forward in last one so going to pick face to advance here based on that.

First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

Devil Dog vs. Raphael

Raphael is one of the top guys for sure, not only winning and getting promo time but also being on semi-main event slot in all three shows which makes me think he´s the go-to heel for ratings the same way Conner os the go-to face for good main event matches.

First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

Conner Threepwood vs. Remmy Honeyman

I do like Remmy but I don´t see him going over Conner who seems to be the absolute top guy with him being (and winning) in all three previous main event matches

[After a video package is shown of the various superstars of NEW, we are taken to the announcer’s desk where Rob L. Miskovsky and his new commentary partner Honest Frank are shown with woeful looks on their respective faces.

Rob informs us that during a pre-show match Otis Von Battenberg of Brutality Incorporated suffered what appears to be a broken neck. He (Rob) then continues by saying that he will give us any updates as they come to him throughout the night.

Rob and Frank then briefly talk about the matches on the card tonight before we head down to the ring for the first match of the evening.]

Onslaught vs. Deathwish

Match:

  • On commentary, Frank informs us that Deathwish’s manager Carl Batch is not in the building tonight as he accompanied his other client Otis Von Battenberg to the hospital.

  • This was a clash of styles as Onslaught tired using his hit and run tactics to keep Deathwish guessing what would happen next and Deathwish was trying his hardest to make this a wild brawl.

  • At the start, it looked as if Onslaught would get his way after he kept on hitting Deathwish with spectacular move after spectacular move.

  • But the young Texan could not keep the madman down and in the end, it was Deathwish picking up the victory after he leaped off the top rope and nailed Onslaught with a Swandive Headbutt.

Winner: Deathwish

Time: 8:52

Match Rating: 32

[We are now shown a brief interview that was filmed during the week where Rob L. Miskovsky interviews an injured Nate DeMarcus at Nate’s home in West Warwick, Rhode Island. Nate informs Rob that he is not medically cleared to wrestle at Summer Clash and so his scheduled rematch where he teams with BP SWOLL to take on the Jet Set will instead be held next month at Boston Brawl.]

Langston “Lion Heart” Franklin vs. The Masked Mauler VII

Match:

  • Those looking for a technical masterclass would have to go somewhere else as this match was a straight-up brawl.

  • The fans were clearly behind the Canadian Lion Heart as they cheered for everything he did.

  • Both men got in a lot of offense during the opening minutes of the match.

  • Langston then took over and there were plenty of times where it looked like he was going to pull off the victory.

  • In the end, it was the Mauler who pulled out the victory after he attached the Iron Claw to Langston, which caused Langston to tap-out.

Winner: The Masked Mauler VII

Time: 14:03

Match Rating: 34

[We are now taken to the backstage interview area where Tabitha is standing by with NEW owner Buddy Garner.]

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabitha: Mister Garner, for the last month many people have wondered just who is the mystery man who will be taking on Tavon Blake Junior tonight in the first round of the NEW Championship Title tournament.

Would you care to address this concern right now?

[buddy smirks and then thinks for a moment before he replies.]

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: Sure thing Tabitha. In fact, I can do ya one better and I can bring in the mystery man. Come on in…

[Former RIPW standout Jerry Martin walks on screen and the crowd in the arena pops. Jerry smiles and shakes Buddy’s hand.]

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: As you can see, I have decided to bring in someone who is no stranger to New England area wrestling fans. Tonight Jerry Martin will be taking on Tavon Blake Junior in the first round of the NEW Championship Title tournament.

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabitha: Well Jerry, let me be the first to welcome you to NEW.

yoYdLij.jpg?1

Jerry Martin: It’s great to be here in NEW in front of the fans here in Providence. You know I do come from Canada, but I have spent the vast majority of my career fighting here in the New England area and this has become my home away from home.

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabitha: Well Jerry tonight your very first match here in NEW is against one of the best prospects in the industry today in Tavon Blake Junior. Are you ready to take on such a formidable opponent on your first night here in NEW?

yoYdLij.jpg?1

Jerry Martin: Am I ready? Tabitha I was born ready.

Sure I know Tavon is a tough kid. But here is the thing, I have no fear...I am not afraid of Tavon and I am certainly not afraid of his two Jet Set buddies either.

No, tonight I am going to show everyone that I belong here in NEW wrestling. People might have forgotten just how good I am. Well, tonight they are going to get a refresher course.

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabitha: One last question. You are known for being a hardcore wrestler, can we expect to see that violent side of you tonight.

yoYdLij.jpg?1

Jerry Martin: Never say never but to be honest with you Tabitha, I have toned down my more crazy style. I am getting older you know and that style takes its toll on the body...now I am not saying that I am a reformed psychopath who is not above taking a broken beer bottle and using it to carve my opponents’ forehead to shreds.

It is just that I am going to try my best to be on my best behavior here in NEW. Buddy has made it perfectly clear that he does not want me to showcase my more wild side and I am going to adhere to his wishes.

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabitha: Thank you Jerry and good luck!

[We are now shown a pre-taped video featuring Cip Conduit who is talking about his Mullet Mike who is Cip’s first-round opponent in the NEW Championship Title Tournament.]

yX2d9gO.jpg?1

Cip Conduit: Mullet Mike the blue collar hero of the masses. Tonight you probably fully expect that you are gonna walk away with the victory when you step into the ring with me.

Well if you think that, then you have another thing coming. You see Mike, much like your fans and your career thus far, you will witness nothing but disappointment when you step inside the ring with me. Because I will do everything I can to advance in this tournament.

Tonight Mike you’re going to be a mere footnote in the history of NEW. Because you’ll be known as the man who the first-ever NEW Champion beat on his way to victory.

The following match is a First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

5t91Gyl.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpgyX2d9gO.jpg?1

Mullet Mike vs. Cip Conduit

Match:

  • People expecting to see a five-star classic would be very disappointed, people looking for a match where two guys beat the ever living crap out of each other would be thrilled with this match.

  • This match started out with both men trying their best to put their opponent down by any means necessary.

  • Neither man gave an inch and it looked as though whoever was going to be the eventual victor in this match would have to have gone through one hell of a war.

  • The action spilled onto the floor multiple times during this match and Referee Xander Summer was very slow in his count as he did not want this tournament match to end in a count-out.

  • The match came to an end after Cip nailed Mike with a Running Boot, downing the man with the 80’s haircut. Three seconds later Cip had advanced to the semi-final round of the NEW Championship Tournament.

Winner and advancing into the Semi-Final Round of the NEW ChampionshipTournament: Cip Conduit

Time: 11:20

Match Rating: 33

[We now head to the backstage area of the arena where the members of the Jet Set (Rocco Renoir, Prime Time Jack Pryde, and Tavon Blake Jr.) are standing in front of a closed door.]

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Prime Time Jack Pryde: This is bull and you know it Tavon. Buddy doesn’t want to see you do well in this tournament and this just proves it. Why else would he book you a match against a known psychopath and not tell you about it ahead of time?

fnEgmso.jpg?1

Rocco Renoir: Yeah man, it’s totally messed up that he is doing you like that bro. I think you should march right into his office and tell him what’s up. Refuse the match with Jerry on the grounds that you did not have enough time to get ready for a match with that crazy Canadian.

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: Yeah guys, you’re absolutely right! I’m gonna march right into Buddy’s office and tell that punk ass little bitch what’s up. I am going to demand he replace Jerry Martin as my first-round opponent with...uh...that other Jerry. You know that cat that always loses...Jerry Pepper.

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Jack Pryde: Isn’t he hurt or something?

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: I don’t care if the dude’s hurt, I’ll fight him anyway.

Also, I ain’t afraid of Buddy Garner. I don’t care if the dude is a former GAMMA Middleweight Champion, I don’t care if he beat Matthew Dean for that belt...that don’t impress me none. Nah man, I gonna tell him right to his damn face that he has to change my opponent and if he doesn’t then I’ll walk!

fnEgmso.jpg?1

Rocco Renoir: That’s the ticket dude...you tell him what’s up.

[Just then the door opens up and outsteps NEW owner Buddy Garner. Buddy has a big smile on his face as he looks at the members of Jet Set.]

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: Gentlemen, how can I help you? I heard all of this commotion outside of my office and I caught some of what you said. So if you want to air any grievances now is the time to do so.

[All of the bluster seems to now be drained out of Tavon’s body and he is now looking down at the floor refusing to make eye contact with Buddy.]

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: Well Mister Garner, sir. I...I was wondering why I was the one who was scheduled to fight Jerry Martin with no notice…

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: What? Are you afraid of him son?

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: Not exactly sir...but…

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: Then I am not sure what it is you want to talk to me about. Maybe you would like to discuss the time I beat Matthew Dean for the GAMMA Middleweight Championship...oh that’s right I heard you are not impressed by that.

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: No...it’s just I have not had enough time to prepare for someone like Jerry Martin. The man is a psychopath...I once saw him beat a dude with a wooden table leg until the man tapped out. That is just sadistic bro.

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: Well I have spoken to Mister Martin and told him that sort of wrestling is not something we approve of here in NEW and he assured me that he would do nothing like that.

So your concerns are unfounded son. You don’t have to worry about anything but a good clean fight.

I mean you and your buddies are often touting how the three of you are the future of the wrestling industry. Well, tonight will be an excellent night for you to prove that Tavon and I have all the confidence in the world that you will.

Is there anything else you gentleman would like to say to me?

fnEgmso.jpg?1

Rocco Renoir: No sir…

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: Are you sure? You’re not going to have your lawyer call me up, bitching about putting you up in a motel? Jack you’re not going to complain about how I am holding you guys down in order to impede your success in this company? You don’t want to call me a...what did you say Tavon...oh yes a punk ass bitch. You don’t want to call me a punk ass bitch to my face?

[The three members of Jet Set shake their heads in unison, as they look like scolded school children.]

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: Well good then. Off you go gentlemen.

Oh and Tavon, good luck. You’re gonna need it.

[buddy closes the door to his office as the three members of Jet Set walk off camera. Jack can be heard saying to Tavon.]

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Jack Pryde: Way to chicken out Tay.

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: Me? You didn’t even say one damn word and I’m the chicken? Forget you, man.

[We now head to the backstage interview area where Devil Dog is standing by.]

wL4h06T.jpg?1

Devil Dog: Pretty boy Raphael...two months ago you said that I was no legitimate threat to you in the ring and I proved otherwise. Son, I took you to the limit and you knew it because you had to cheat to beat me by hitting me with a low blow.

Raphael, you ain’t nothing more than a coward, and tonight I am gonna show you once again exactly why you should be afraid of me and why I am a credible threat to you. You’re gonna tap to the Rear Naked Choke, that’s a promise boy. Oorah!

The following match is a First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

yoYdLij.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpg5gA1ObF.jpg?1 with cT2XViM.jpg?1fnEgmso.jpg?1

Jerry Martin vs. Tavon Blake Jr. with Jet Set

Match:

  • Jerry’s head had to be on a perpetual swivel during this match as not only did he have to face off against Tavon, he also had to pay attention to Rocco and Jack who occasionally inserted themselves into the match in order to give Tavon the upper hand.

  • Tavon spent his time trying to weaken Jerry’s left leg in order to make his (Tavon’s) application of the Figure Four all the more painful later on in the match.

  • This match was pretty one-sided at the start as any time Jerry would mount any sort of offense either Rocco or Jack would interfere on Tavon’s behalf, while Tavon distracted Referee David Poker.

  • Having missed the vast majority of Jet Set’s interference, David Poker finally saw both members of Jet Set attacking Jerry on the arena floor. This caused David to eject Rocco and Jack from ringside.

  • Once this happened the once one-sided match became far more open and soon Jerry looked poised to pick up his first victory here in NEW.

  • Which he did after nailing Tavon with a hard-hitting, vicious looking Discus Punch. Three seconds later Jerry picked up a hard fought victory.

Winner and advancing into the Semi-Final Round of the NEW ChampionshipTournament: Jerry Martin

Time: 12:49

Match Rating: 44

[We now head to the craft services area in the backstage of the arena. There we see SJW eating a doughnut. SJW then sees Onslaught walking towards him, a look of panic comes across SJW’s face.

SJW takes his doughnut and throws it into the garbage, he then turns and heads off in the opposite direction from where Onslaught is coming from. Onslaught calls out to him which causes SJW to stop walking.]

SJW: Um...well...I know marginalized voices are very important and must be heard. But the thing is...I...ah…

AUbLzC1.jpg?1

Onslaught: Why are you so nervous?

MSvEa5n.jpg?1

SJW: Me? No, no...I am not nervous. Why would you think I am nervous?

Why would I have any cause to be nervous around you? After all, I am an ally to you and people like you. I gladly lend you my voice to lift your voice up and…

AUbLzC1.jpg?1

Onslaught: Cut the crap man. I don’t want to hear you call yourself my ally or any of that nonsense.

What I do want to talk about is why you attacked my friend Jerry Pepper last month?

[sJW seems taken aback by such an accusation.]

MSvEa5n.jpg?1

SJW: Me attack Jerry? Why on earth would you think I would do such a thing?

I am not capable of causing violence for the sake of violence…

AUbLzC1.jpg?1

Onslaught: Sure...so that totally wasn’t you talking in that video? Blathering on about being my ally and whatnot?

MSvEa5n.jpg?1

SJW: No...I mean sure I was not happy you chose someone besides me to be your tag team partner last month...but I got over it. As I said, I would never be violent for the sake of being violent.

I feel attacked right now because you would accuse me of doing such a thing.

AUbLzC1.jpg?1

Onslaught: Okay whatever. I just want you to know Seth, you are not and never will be an ally of mine. We’re not on Survivor and I don’t need any allies.

I have friends and last month you attacked one of them. Look I am only going to tell you this once, I want your weird obsession with me to end and if it don’t...well I can’t be held accountable for what I will do to you.

[Onslaught walks away as SJW just stands there looking dumbfounded, not saying a word.][/Quote]

[We now head over to the locker room of Raphael who is sitting on a chair while his girlfriend Lucinda Larouche is behind him giving his shoulders a rub.]

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Devil Dog, you are absolutely right. Two months ago when we met in the ring I did underestimate you. I thought I was going to have a cake night and you did give me one heck of a battle. So cheers to you.

But here’s the thing Devil Dog, tonight I know just how good you are in the ring. This means I am now going to adjust my strategy accordingly. Once I do that, I am sorry to say this...but you have no chance against me.

You see Devil Dog tonight you’re not going to be the hellhound you were two months ago. No, you are going to be more like Old Yeller, the rabid stray dog who has to be put down. I’ll gladly put you out of your misery Devil Dog and I’ll do it with a smile on my face.

Because you are nothing but a mere obstacle for me on my road to becoming the first-ever NEW Champion and make no mistake about it Devil Dog, I will beat you tonight in order to advance in the tournament.

That’s not me being conceited, that’s me telling the truth. After all, there is a reason why they call me the Golden Hair God, and tonight you are going to see just why that is the case.

[Lucinda giggles, winks, and then blows a kiss at the camera.]

The following match is a First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

wL4h06T.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpg9ODyyTw.jpg?1 with X2pReb2.jpg?1

Devil Dog vs. Raphael with Lucinda Larouche

Match:

  • The bell rings and Raphael mockingly salutes the retired Marine Devil Dog, this causes Devil Dog to charge at Raphael which was a mistake as Devil Dog was nailed with a right knee to the stomach.

  • Raphael spent the opening minutes of the match in firm control. In fact, he was so in control he kept on pausing his attacks to taunt the fans.

  • One such taunt saw Raphael yell out, “Is this the best America has to offer? No wonder why Canada is a better country!”

  • The rabid fans in Providence were none too pleased with such a statement and a “USA!” chant began.

  • Devil Dog seemed to feed off the patriotic chant and he mounted a comeback.

  • The retired Marine starts to beat the holy hell out of his proud Canadian opponent and it looks like Devil Dog might be advancing into the next round of the tournament.

  • But as is often said, looks can be deceiving as Lucinda makes her presence known in the match when she grabs Devil Dog’s ankle as he is running the ropes.

  • This causes the hot headed Devil Dog to go after her, which gives Raphael the time he needs to get back into the match.

  • Raphael nails Devil Dog in the back of the head with a vicious forearm he then tosses the dazed Devil Dog into the ropes and nails the retired Marine with a Cupid’s Arrow.

  • This was enough to keep Devil Dog down for the three count, which meant that Raphael was able to secure the victory.

Winner and advancing into the Semi-Final Round of the NEW ChampionshipTournament: Raphael

Time: 13:36

Match Rating: 47

[We now head to the backstage interview area where NEW backstage correspondent Tabitha Mara is standing by with Conner Threepwood.]

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabitha: Conner, in just a few short minutes you are going stepping into the ring where you will face off against Remmy Honeyman in the first round of the NEW Championship Tournament. The winner will then face Raphael in the next round…

tKgR2oc.jpg?1

Conner Threepwood: Sorry but I need to interrupt you right there Tabitha. I cannot afford to think about facing Raphael in the next round because if I do then I have already lost my match tonight against Remmy.

Remmy is one of the most technically sound wrestlers on this roster. I’ve been in the ring with him plenty of times in the past and I fully understand what he is capable of doing to me.

I am not going into my next match with any thoughts about Raphael, because I have not yet earned that right to think about facing off against Raphael.

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabitha: By the way you are talking it does not seem like you are confident in your ability to win tonight…

tKgR2oc.jpg?1

Conner Threepwood: In no way am I not confident in my ability to win tonight. But I do not want to get overly confident because if I dare to do that against Remmy then I could easily find myself covered for the three count and out of the tournament.

No, I am cautiously optimistic that I am going to pull off this win tonight, and then and only then will I think about facing off against Raphael.

[Conner walks out of the interview area and Tabitha smiles at the camera and says...]

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabitha: Well okay then. Back to you Rob.

The following match is a First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

tKgR2oc.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpgzLnG5lU.jpg?1

Conner Threepwood vs. Remmy Honeyman

Match:

  • This match started out much like how you would expect it to start out, with neither man really having a huge advantage over the other.

  • There were a lot of holds that were reversed a dozen times over.

  • A few minutes into the match, a frustrated Remmy left the ring in order to try and figure out a new gameplan.

  • Conner was not about to allow Remmy this rest and he (Conner) left the ring and the two men began brawling at ringside.

  • Referee Xander Summer was slow on his ten count because he did not want to have a tournament match end in a draw, both men used this fact to their advantage as they continued to brawl at ringside; only reentering the ring to break up Xander’s ten count.

  • The combatants soon returned to the ring and it was at this point in the match that Remmy pulled an object out of his trunks and hit Conner with it. Xander was out of position and did not see what Remmy did.

  • Remmy spent the next few minutes on the match punishing Conner’s back.

  • The theory behind this was if Conner’s back was weakened or hurt, Conner would have a more difficult time trying to apply his finisher the Stretch Plum.

  • Remmy made a couple of halfhearted pinfall attempts during this point in the match but it was clear that he was not truly expecting to win this way and after every time Conner would kick out, Remmy would go back to working on Conner’s back.

  • The fans started growing restless as they watched their hero take punishing blow after punishing blow to the back.

  • This caused the fans to begin a, “Here we Conner, here we go!”, chant.

  • Conner seemed to feed off the positive energy that the fans were sending his way.

  • Soon a weakened Conner was back on his feet as he desperately fought two foes now.

  • The agonizing pain in his back and Remmy.

  • The fans did not let up as they kept on chanting, “Here we Conner, here we go!”, over and over again.

  • Conner mounted a comeback as he nailed Remmy with everything he had in his offensive arsenal.

  • Somehow Conner was able to fight through the pain and lock Remmy into the Stretch Plum.

  • Even though Conner did not have the power he would normally have when applying this submission hold it was still enough to get Remmy to verbally submit, which means that Conner was the victor in the match!

Winner by verbal submission and advancing into the Semi-Final Round of the NEW ChampionshipTournament: Conner Threepwood

Time: 22:01

Match Rating: 50

[The show comes to an end with Referee Xander Summer raising Conner’s right hand in victory. As Conner grimaces in pain and clutches his back with his left hand.]

Post-Show Notes:

1. First and foremost I would like to thank everyone who predicted in the prediction contest. Especially Theheel who joined in on the competition during this show. Also, I really have to learn how to stump Zergon, as this was Zergon's second time with a perfect score.

I am going to do something different this time around. If anyone who predicted wants a Cameo from anyone on the NEW roster. Feel free to either shoot me a PM or just post who you would like it from here in the thread. Obviously, if nobody wants one then I will not do it.

2. A lot of people picked Mike to beat Cip, which is a reasonable decision. The problem is at this point in the game Cip is actually the number two rated heel popularity wise on the roster. He is only behind Raphael.

So while yes, Mike's name is on the diary. I could not have him win here.

3. Yes another usual suspect of mine shows up in this diary in Jerry Martin. He's been with the company since the first show, but I have had him wrestle in strictly dark matches up until this point as I wanted him to debut as the mystery man.

This will be a different version of Jerry in this diary. He's not the hardcore wrestling psychopath in this diary. I guess that means he will not be a direct ripoff of Cicero from Skyrim like I have written him to be in the past.

4. I added Coyote Dynamite as my second road agent because I kept on getting a warning saying that Buddy was road agenting too many matches.

I also brought in Honest Frank to be the new color commentator (Which is probably a mistake because he now the highest paid worker on the roster. But I have a soft spot for Frank as he has now shown up in, I believe, every single one of my diaries that were not an SWF diary.). Here is something that I did not know at the time. If the color commentator is able to do so, they will also work as a road agent and you do not even have to assign them, they will just start working as a road agent as well. Therefore, both Frank and Coyote are now road agents. I probably should fire Coyote, but it was my mistake so I just decided to keep him around.

5. At this point I was planning on having the tag team tournament and Brutality Inc. was going to win the titles. Otis' neck breaking in the pre-show match put an end to that.

I had to go back to the drawing board and come up with new champions which I still have yet to do.

6. For you WMMA fans, I know that Buddy beating Matthew Dean for the GAMMA Middleweight Championship is not cannon. But I felt it would be a cool thing for him to have done.

Onslaught vs. Deathwish -- I feel like these are the same people... that shows my CV knowledge.

I could be wrong, but I think TEW20 is both of their debuts. Or at least it is the first time I have run across either of them.

Onslaught vs. Deathwish

Pretty sure Deathwish is higher on the ladders thanks to being associated with Batch who have had lots of promo time

Honestly, they are not that much apart. The thing with Onslaught is, he does not have high New England popularity. Now if we were in California, he would be the number two face thanks to his work in CZCW.

Langston “Lion Heart” Franklin vs. The Masked Mauler VII

This was a tough one to me but Mauler has better win - loss record so I go with him based on that and the quality of the opponents who they have won/lost so far.[/Quote]

You are right. I'll be honest, I probably should not have signed Mauler. Mainly because I have no earthly idea of how I should write for him. This is why he does not get any promo time.

He is also the third highest rated heel in the company popularity wise and his popularity keeps on growing. This is because he is a major factor in NEW's sister promotion.

First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

Devil Dog vs. Raphael

Raphael is one of the top guys for sure, not only winning and getting promo time but also being on semi-main event slot in all three shows which makes me think he´s the go-to heel for ratings the same way Conner os the go-to face for good main event matches.[/Quote]

You hit the nail on the head here. Raphael is my main heel. TCW got rid of Marc Speed and I was and still am very tempted to bring him in as he is one of my favorite TEW characters. The problem with that is, he wanted a ton of money and his popularity is so much higher than anyone in this promotion.

So as much as I would love to bring Marc in, I cannot justify it. This means that Raphael will remain my number one heel for the foreseeable future.

First Round Match in the NEW Championship Tournament:

Conner Threepwood vs. Remmy Honeyman

I do like Remmy but I don´t see him going over Conner who seems to be the absolute top guy with him being (and winning) in all three previous main event matches

Remmy is someone who seems to pop up in the vast majority of my diaries. In TEW20 the guy is a ratings machine. But he is nowhere near as popular as Conner is and he is a heel, so he could never win this match.

[The following video footage is being shown on NEW’s YouTube Channel.

We begin with footage of Cip Conduit outside in a wooded area. Cip is chopping wood up and he stops to address the camera.]

yX2d9gO.jpg?1

Cip Conduit: Jerry Martin a.k.a. the crazy Canadian. People say you are psychotic, people say you can withstand high amounts of pain. Well, son that don’t worry me none.

You see Jerry Martin, I am a man’s man. A real man...I don’t need any gimmicks to win my match. I don’t have to carve up my opponent’s forehead with glass, I don’t have to use barbwire or thumbtacks to beat my opponent.

Being a real man, all I have to do is use my fist and those are weapons enough to put down anyone who is dumb enough to step into the ring with me.

At Boston Brawl you’re going to quickly realize that you are stepping into the ring with someone who is a real man and you ain’t stepping out of that ring victorious boy. I ain’t ever lost to no Canadian and I don’t plan on doing so in Boston.

[We now see Jerry Martin dressed in his street clothes, sitting in what one would assume to be a room in his house.]

yoYdLij.jpg?1

Jerry Martin: Cip Conduit, the hardcore Jerry Martin is a thing of the past. I am a reformed psychopath...I no longer need my bag of tools to win matches.

So Cip when we meet in the ring at Boston Brawl in the semi-finals match in the NEW Championship Tournament, you are going to see just how much I have changed. Yes, change can be scary, but it also can be very good and when I beat you in order to advance in the tournament, you’ll see change has been very good to me. I am not hardcore! I am reformed!

[The next footage sees Raphael and his girlfriend Lucinda Larouche inside a high-end clothing store. Raphael is wearing a blue suit, while Lucinda is wearing a very short black dress.]

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Conner, I have everything my heart could possibly desire. Fancy house...check, luxury car...check, nice clothes...check, stone-cold knock them dead uber-hot girlfriend...check.

The one thing in my life that is eluding me now is the fact that I do not have a championship title around my waist. You would think an athlete of my caliber would have gold around my waist, but that is sadly not the case.

Well at Boston Brawl, I intend to rectify that. You see Conner since NEW opened its doors back in April there have been two marquee wrestlers in the promotion. Two men who seemed destined to collide. The fans have been clamoring to see these two men fight, just to see which one is the better man.

Those two men or you and I Conner. As much as it pains me to say this, you are a fantastic wrestler. That is not even a topic up for debate.

But here is the thing Conner, you are just fantastic, and being just fantastic is still not good enough to beat me. That’s not me being conceited, that’s me telling the truth.

Conner as good as you are, you are going to be taking the loss to me tonight. Once I am done dispatching you I will fight whatever trash advances from the other semi-final match. I will then beat them and once that happens I will be crowned the first-ever NEW Champion.

Conner, tonight you and I will give the fans their marquee match-up. But you will not be walking out of the ring victorious. No, you will just serve as a mere footnote in the pages of history as being yet another victim of the Golden Hair God!

[The final clip we see is that of Conner Threepwood who is outside shooting hoops in a driveway. He stops, wipes his forehead, and begins to address the camera.]

tKgR2oc.jpg?1

Conner Threepwood: Raphael...the quote, unquote Golden Hair Good. Tonight you and I are going to finally meet in the center of the ring. One of us will advance into the tournament finals, the other will not be so fortunate. Raphael, I fully intend to be the one who advances because you might be the Gold Hair God...but that does not mean much because I am the God killer.

You see Raphael, my whole life people have underestimated me. First, it was folks saying I was too small to become a wrestler who would have any impact on the industry. I was told that I would be beaten like a government mule by my much larger opponents.

When that did not come to fruition and I found success, I was told that while yes I found success as a tag team wrestler. That was all I ever was going to be, I was going to be nothing more than a tag team wrestler.

That is why I decided to strike out on my own. I wanted to prove the critics wrong once again, I want to show all of the folks who ever doubted me that I am more than a tag team wrestler. I am someone who can excel as and have a thriving solo career.

I intend to have tonight serve as a culmination for all the hard work I have put into my career. I intend to prove all of my critics wrong. Tonight I will become the first-ever NEW Champion and Raphael you are nothing more than a speedbump to achieving that goal.

Langston “Lion Heart” Franklin vs. Seth James Wilson

I could be wrong here but it feels like Wilson has had more focus which suggests he's going over here

Jerry Pepper vs. Tavon Blake Jr.

The Jet Set are awesome but they remind me so much of The Dynasty that I instinctively want them to suffer

Astro & Paulie Pelton vs. Brutality Incorporated (Deathwish & Sasquatch McGraw)

They have a name, and are also both surprisingly good

Nate DeMarcus & BP SWOLL vs. The Jet Set

See my last comment on the Jet Set

Onslaught vs. The Masked Mauler VII

Mauler's just the best

Devil Dog vs. Remmy Honeyman

Remmy has main-event level talent, even if he's not really a credible top guy

Who will be crowned the first-ever NEW Champion? (Cip Conduit, Conner Threepwood, Jerry Martin, or Raphael)

I genuinely have no idea on this one as none of these have really jumped out to me. I'm going to go for Jerry, though, as he's an established name in New England

Langston “Lion Heart” Franklin vs. Seth James Wilson

Thinking Lion Heart is higher on the ladders despite the time on spotlight that SJW gets.

Jerry Pepper vs. Tavon Blake Jr.

Pepper´s character ain´t really established yet as far as I can remember. Blake haven´t won as much as I would have expected but he has plenty of promo time alongside Jet Set team mates so he´s still way more established than Pepper in my eyes.

Astro & Paulie Pelton vs. Brutality Incorporated (Deathwish & Sasquatch McGraw)

Named team over random pairing.

Nate DeMarcus & BP SWOLL vs. The Jet Set

Jet Set can talk a lot about how great they are but have lacked a bit in-ring wins to back that up. DeMarcus and SWOLL on other hand have been decently impressive, most notably managing to keep Jet Set in bay in that 2 vs. 3 match even if it ended on draw instead of them winning. All that said, I ccould see Jet Set winning this time via shenigans but I still go with faces as they have appeared stronger so far in my eyes.

Onslaught vs. The Masked Mauler VII

Mauler have had some decently big wins while Onslaught have been on losing end.

Devil Dog vs. Remmy Honeyman

I believe you said that Dog refused to lose to Blake earlier so I´d assume this might be similar situation. Plus Dog is singles guy while Remmy has tag team to fall back on so thinking Devil Dog could use the win bit more even if he would be willing to lose this one.

Who will be crowned the first-ever NEW Champion? (Cip Conduit, Conner Threepwood, Jerry Martin, or Raphael)

Tough one, I´d guess it would be either Threepwood or Raphael as those two have been your top two so far by decent margin. No idea which one though... looking at potential challengers, face champ would have Raphael, Cip, Remmy, Mauler with maybe Blake or one of the Brutality guys as one shots. Heel champ could have Threepwood, Dog, Martin, DeMarcus, SWOLL and maybe Lion Heart as challengers... thinking face side looks slightly stronger to me so I go with Raphael based on that. As a side note, I really like the way Raphael acknowledge how good his opponents are while still looking as arrogant guy who thinks he´s better than anyone else. It´s nice chance for arrogant heel to actually admit his opponents are worth something, also helps him look better when he inevitably looses to one of them at some point.

NEW Boston Brawl

Location: Boston, Massachusetts

Attendance: 65

Show Rating: 42

LDuFPt6.jpg?18YekqP3.jpg?1

[The show begins with Rob and Frank giving us a rundown of the matches that are scheduled to take place tonight. Rob says, “Tonight we will crown the first-ever NEW Champion. Who will it be? Will it be the Gold Hair God Raphael? The crazy Canadian Jerry Martin, the veteran brawl from Maine Cip Conduit? Or the Hick from French Lick, Conner Threepwood? We shall find out tonight!”

We then head to the ring for the first match.]

[Prior to the start of the match, Seth James Wilson (SJW) has a microphone and he begins to address the crowd.]

MSvEa5n.jpg?1

SJW: Two months ago my fellow NEW wrestlers made me realize just how much of a toxic, unwelcoming culture this wrestling promotion is fostering. This happened when they destroyed my safe space!

They used their toxic masculinity to destroy the one place that is supposed to be safe from such things! It was a place where all were welcomed...well that is if you think exactly like I do and do not have aggressive smells coming from their bodies. But yeah if you don’t think like me then you are on the wrong side of history and you are a stain on humanity and you should be wiped away!

I am sick of the constant disrespect I get from you fascists fans! I might not even wrestle tonight because I am still so distraught…

[The fans start cheering loudly over this proclamation, this causes SJW to stomp his foot on the mat and stare angrily out into the crowd.]

MSvEa5n.jpg?1

SJW: You know what? I am going to wrestle tonight because I owe it to the fans who feel unsafe to be here. Therefore, I am going to issue a trigger warning…

The following match may contain violence, I will try to be as gentle as I can in this match but that might be beyond my control...

[SJW then hands the ring microphone over to the ring announcer, who makes the opening introductions.]

s6NN1we.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpgMSvEa5n.jpg?1

Langston “Lion Heart” Franklin vs. Seth James Wilson

Match:

  • It was clear right from the start of the match that this was not going to be SJW’s night, as anytime he would gain any sort of advantage in the match he would be distracted by the taunts of the crowd.

  • The match came to an end after Lion Heart nailed SJW with his finisher Lion’s Pounce.

Winner: Langston Franklin

Time: 6:41

Match Rating: 29

[We now head to the interview area where Carl Batch is standing by with his clients Deathwish and Sasquatch McGraw. Carl, with a cigar hanging out of his mouth, smiles.]

0p54iew.jpg?1

Carl Batch: Ladies and gentlemen I want you to feast your eyes on Brutality Incorporated two-point O. Last month Otis Von Battenberg, unfortunately, suffered a broken neck. These things happen in this industry and his spot will remain open once he returns.

But right now I have to focus on what is best for business and what is best for business is to pair Sasquatch and Deathwish together to form one maniacal, malicious, manifestation of destruction. You see only a fool would step into the ring with my men and tonight two fools have decided to do just that.

One of them is Astro. Now look Astro, I am not a sadistic man. I don’t want to see people getting absolutely destroyed for the sake of getting destroyed...but apparently, you have made it your job to make me bear witness to just that.

Month after month you foolishly step into the ring against my men. I have to question why are you so foolish? This month you are dragging that poor fool, Paulie Pelton, into the match with you.

It is often said that there is a fine line between being brave and being stupid. Well, Astro at this point it is clear as the day is long, that you are one stupid individual.

vh0xZNf.jpg?1ptQXbKF.jpg5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Jerry Pepper vs. Tavon Blake Jr.

Match:

  • Fresh off his loss last month to NEW’s other Jerry, Tavon is out to showcase just how good he is in this match.

  • Jerry Pepper managed to get in some offense during the early portion of the match, but Tavon soon gained control and did not look back.

  • Tavon locked Jerry’s leg into the Figure Four Leglock and the young man from New Mexico had no choice but to verbally submit to Referee Xander Summer.

Winner: Tavon Blake Jr.

Time: 7:17

Match Rating: 39

[The match is done and a hobbled Jerry Pepper asks the ring announcer for the microphone. Jerry then begins to speak.]

Jerry Pepper: Two months ago I was jumped by the coward known as SJW. Well, I might be battered and bruised from my match but I am not nearly battered and bruised enough that I can’t beat a little snowflake like SJW.

So SJW get your coward ass out here and take your beating like a man that we all know you ain’t…

[A panicked-looking SJW comes down to the ring, he is wearing his street clothes and glasses. He walks over to the ring announcer and asks for a microphone. Upon getting one, he cautiously enters the ring.

He puts his hands up as a way of telling the very angry Jerry Pepper that he means him no harm.]

MSvEa5n.jpg?1

SJW: Look, Jerry...I know you are not the smartest of people...but clearly you have me confused with someone else. I absolutely did not attack you two months ago. That was someone else...and to accuse me of being the perpetrator of such violence is very triggering to me.

I am not a violent person…

vh0xZNf.jpg?1

Jerry Pepper: Shut the hell up dude. You might have attacked me from behind but I seen you…

MSvEa5n.jpg?1

SJW: Uh...no...the word you’re looking for is saw me. You saw me...but clearly you are mistaken.

vh0xZNf.jpg?1

Jerry Pepper: You know what? Screw this, I ain’t got no time to listen to your lies…

MSvEa5n.jpg?1

SJW: Well I do not have the time to listen to you butcher the English language and yet here we are…

[Jerry throws down his microphone and charges SJW. SJW begs off Jerry as he cries out...]

MSvEa5n.jpg?1

SJW: Would you really hit a man wearing glasses?

[Jerry hesitates for a moment and that was all the time that SJW needed to land a swift kick to Jerry’s nether region. SJW then proceeds to beat the already weakened Jerry, nailing Jerry in the head with the microphone.

Onslaught comes running down to the ring to save his friend and SJW, who saw Onslaught coming, hightails it out of the ring. Onslaught checks on his fallen friend and asks him if he is okay as we are shown a video of Tabitha Mara hyping the NEW website.]

Astro & Paulie Pelton vs. Brutality Incorporated with Carl Batch

Match:

  • The members of Brutality Incorporated wasted no time in laying waste to their opponents.

  • Sure this match went over nine minutes but it was a nine-minute squash match if there is such a thing.

  • Sasquatch and Deathwish took out all of their fury on Astro and Paulie, never letting up but also not making any attempt to pin their opponents.

  • When Carl felt his team had doled out enough pain to their opponents, he (Carl) yelled out, “That’s it, boys, wrap it up!”

  • It was at this point that Sasquatch hurled Astro into the ring ropes before nailing Astro with a Running Big Boot, and three seconds later this match was mercifully over (For Astro and Paulie that is).

Winners: Brutality Incorporated

Time: 9:20

Match Rating: 31

[We are now shown a video that was shot earlier in the day. The video features the members of The Jet Set (Tavon Blake Jr., Rocco Renoir, and Prime Time Jack Pryde) in some grungy, small, room with workout equipment in it.]

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Prime Time Jack Pryde: Is this what Buddy Garner thinks passes as a gym? It’s a broom closet with weights in it and he wants us to work out in here before the show?

This is egregious!

fnEgmso.jpg?1

Rocco Renoir: But it is just one more thing in a long list of slights that Buddy has done to us.

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Prime Time Jack Pryde: Exactly!

I mean look at our situation tonight. He gave Nate DeMarcus a whole month off to heal his hurt shoulder. The poor baby couldn’t man up and face us last month...but if it was one of us who was hurt Buddy would force us to wrestle no matter what!

Egregious!

fnEgmso.jpg?1

Rocco Renoir: Egregious and totally true. Do you remember when the mumble mouth, morbidly obese BP SWOLL hit me with his Pounce a few months ago? My back hurt so bad...but I did not get a month off to heal.

No, I was forced to wrestle that fat ass the very next month!

Egregious!

5gA1ObF.jpg?1

Tavon Blake Jr.: Yeah and don’t get me started about how Buddy booked me in a match against that crazy-ass Canadian Jerry Martin without me even knowing I was supposed to fight him.

Jerry knew he was going to fight me, but I had no idea that I was going to fight him…

Egregious!

cT2XViM.jpg?1

Prime Time Jack Pryde: Here’s the thing boys, we can’t keep on focusing on the negative. As that old song goes, we’ve got to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative.

Buddy has it out for us, that much is clear. But we’ve got to keep on winning no matter what egregious slight he throws at us next.

After all, the three of us are a class above anyone else in this backwater company. We are the cream of the crop here, we are the future of professional wrestling and no matter what Buddy does to try to hold us down, he will not succeed.

[We are now taken to a corridor in the bowels of the arena. A camera is filming at a distance as we see Raphael and the members of Brutality Incorporated (Carl Batch, Deathwish, and Sasquatch McGraw) talking. The cameraman zooms in and we catch part of the conversation.]

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: So I pay you half now and a half after the deal is done?

0p54iew.jpg?1

Carl Batch: Precisely my brother…

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Cool…

[Raphael gives a wad of cash over to Carl who quickly counts it to make sure it is all there. Raphael then smiles and says...]

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: So we’re good then?

0p54iew.jpg?1

Carl Batch: Oh yes we are very good.

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Good...so you...ah...know what I want right? I want your boys to make sure they beat him enough so that he is unable to compete in our match tonight?

I don’t care how violent they are or what they do. All I do care about is that he does not step foot in that ring against me tonight.

Are we clear?

0p54iew.jpg?1

Carl Batch: Crystal...

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Oh and I want you to facetime me so I can see it happen in real-time.

0p54iew.jpg?1

Carl Batch: I wouldn’t do it any other way, kind sir.

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Cool, cool. Well, then it has been a pleasure doing business with you Mister Batch.

0p54iew.jpg?1

Carl Batch: Likewise…

[The two men shake hands and it is at that point that Raphael notices the cameraman recording off in the distance. A very angry Carl calls out to the cameraman before telling Sasquatch to go after the cameraman. We then see shaky footage as the cameraman runs away from the charging Sasquatch.]

Nate DeMarcus & BP SWOLL vs. The Jet Set with Tavon Blake Jr.

Match:

  • This match started out like a cat and mouse game as neither member of the Jet Set wanted to be in the ring with their much larger opponents for any length of time.

  • Whenever BP or Nate was able to catch a member of Jet Set, they would nail their opponents with powerful, crushing blows.

  • Things began to look grim for Rocco and Jack as BP was able to isolate Rocco in his (BP’s) corner.

  • Timely interference from Tavon on the outside of the ring allowed Rocco to tag Jack into the match.

  • This interference caused BP to go after Tavon on the outside of the ring and it allowed Jack to nail a distracted Nate from behind with a forearm.

  • Rocco and Jack then isolated Nate in their corner and they began to work Nate over, not allowing him any opportunity to tag his partner into the match.

  • It is at this point that BP begins to clap his hands and stomp his right foot on the ring apron, the crowd follows his lead and they begin to do the same thing as well.

  • Soon chants of, “Nate the great!” ring out throughout the arena and Nate seems to feed off the energy of the crowd.

  • Nate soon fights his way out of the Jet Set’s corner and he tags BP into the match.

  • Rocco charges at BP only to find himself being lifted up and thrown to the outside of the ring directly at Tavon.

  • BP then charges at Jack and nails Jack with a bone-crunching Pounce. Three seconds later BP and Nate have an impressive victory in the books.

Winners: BP SWOLL and Nate DeMarcus

Time: 10:29

Match Rating: 37

[We now head to the backstage of the arena, more specifically a corridor in the backstage of the arena. We see Conner Threepwood walking down the said corridor. Shortly he comes to an intersecting corridor where he is met by the members of Brutality Incorporated (Carl Batch, Deathwish, and Sasquatch McGraw).

Carl pulls out his cellphone and asks whoever is on the other end of the line, “Are you watching this?” Once he gets confirmation from whomever he is speaking to, he looks at his charges and says with a huge grin on his face, “You know what to do guys.” The prompts Sasquatch and Deathwish to beat the holy hell out of Conner. Conner tries to fight back but he is no match for these two wildmen.

Carl speaks into his phone and asks, “Was that good enough? Or do you want my boys to beat him up more?” The person on the other end of the phone must have told Carl they were satisfied as Carl gives his charges a thumbs up and the three men leave Conner lying face down in a pool of his own blood.]

Onslaught vs. The Masked Mauler VII

Match:

  • This match was a clash of styles as Onslaught wanted to fight a rapid-paced, high flying match and Mauler wanted to fight a slow mat-based match.

  • In the opening minutes, it looked as if neither man was going to establish their dominance in this match as both men traded blows but neither man was able to land the significant hit that would allow them to take control of the match.

  • A frustrated Mauler left the ring trying desperately to figure out what he could do to slow the speedster from Austin, Texas down.

  • This was not wise on Mauler’s part as Onslaught launched himself at Mauler via a dive over the top rope.

  • Onslaught was then in control of the match and it was clear that the fans were invested in seeing him win as they cheered wildly anytime he (Onslaught) even attempted a pin.

  • However, in the end, it was the Mauler who was able to pick up the victory thanks in large part to the foreign object he (Mauler) pulled out of his trunks when Referee David Poker was not looking.

  • Mauler nailed Onslaught with said object which caused Onslaught to be dazed, Mauler quickly looked the Iron Claw onto his dazed opponent and moments later Maule was awarded the victory after Onslaught passed out due to the pain of the Claw.

Winner: The Masked Mauler VII

Time: 11:22

Match Rating: 43

[We now head to Buddy Garner’s “office”, more like a conference room, in the backstage area of the arena. In this office, we see Buddy Garner, Jerry Martin, Cip Conduit, and Raphael.]

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: Gentlemen, the reason why I called the three of you into my office is to inform you that Conner Threepwood is not medically cleared to compete in his semi-final match against Raphael in the NEW Championship Tournament.

This was due to injuries he sustained when members of Brutality Incorporated brutally beat him down.

[Raphael has a huge grin on his face. He looks at Cip and Jerry and says...]

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Such a shame boys...it looks like the two of you are going to have to fight for the honor to face me in the finals. Tough break for Conner, I do hope that he’s going to be okay…

[Buddy is clearly not happy with Raphael. He (Raphael) gets directly in Raphael’s face and says.]

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: Oh you thought you were gonna go directly to the finals? That ain’t happening, especially seeing how you were the one who paid to have Conner taken out.

[Raphael pretends to be shocked by this allegation.]

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: How dare you impune my character Buddy? I did nothing of the sort...I might be the Golden Hair God of NEW, but paying people to hurt my opponent is just barbaric...that’s a line even I would not cross.

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: Cut the bull Raphael, we all saw the footage of you paying Carl Batch…

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Yeah...I hate to say this because I am not a rat and all...but yes I did pay Carl tonight. But it was not for his men to take Conner out of the tournament...no...you see Carl is a bookie. I was simply betting that my Toronto Blue Jays would beat the Tigers tonight.

Yes, I know only fools bet on baseball, but I can’t help it, Buddy...I have a gambling problem. It is not something I am proud of but…

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: For the love of God, shut the hell up!

Look I am not stupid, I know exactly what your arrangement with Carl was and it was not betting on the damn Blue Jays! But I will take care of what you and Carl did at a later time…

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Wait, what? What are you...what are you planning on doing to me?

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: You’ll have to wait and see...but now let’s get to the matter at hand. I’m going to be blunt here. I ain’t a fan of byes happening in tournaments...they make the tournaments...messy.

So tonight Raphael you are not going to have a bye. You are not going to be able to rest while Cip and Jerry duke it out for the honor to fight you.

No...tonight I am going to insert you into the match with Cip and Jerry. It will be a triple threat match and the winner of the match will become the first-ever NEW Champion...

[Raphael is shocked and does not seem happy with this turn of events. Jerry and Cip on the other hand both seemed very pleased by this outcome.]

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: What? You can’t do that! That’s not fair!

I am not ready to fight the two of them! This is bull and you know it!

Guys, why haven't you said a word this entire meeting? What are the both of you mutes? Tell him you are not okay with having me inserted into your match...

yoYdLij.jpg?1

Jerry Martin: I'm fine with it...

yX2d9gO.jpg?1

Cip Conduit: I'm a real man's man. I don't care who I have to fight be it one guy, two guys, a bear, a narwhal. Whatever you can put in this ring against me I can beat.

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: Buddy you obviously can't put me in a match with these two on such short notice. This is insane...they're insane!

XXzNvLO.jpg?1

Buddy Garner: I can do whatever I want, it’s my damn company!

I don’t know what you’re crying about. After all, aren't you the guy who is always running around talking about being the best wrestler on this roster? Well now you’re gonna have a chance to back all of that bragging up.

Anyway, that’s all. Good luck gentlemen.

Devil Dog vs. Remmy Honeyman

Match:

  • This was a very good match with the former Marine Devil Dog and the Remmy trying everything that they could to win the match.

  • Neither man held much of an advantage during the vast majority of the opening portions of the match and it was very much a back and forth affair.

  • The action did end up spilling out of the ring and both men used the environment to inflict pain on their opponent.

  • On commentary Rob informed us that when it comes to brawling on the outside of the ring, NEW owner Buddy Garner has told the referees to use their discretion in regards to what can and cannot be allowed.

  • It is clear that referee Xander Summer was okay with the wrestlers slamming each other into the ring barricades and tossing each other into the ring steps, as he never once even issued either man a warning.

  • The action soon returned to the ring and Devil Dog was now in control of the match.

  • He managed to get in a couple of pinfalls during this segment of the match, but Remmy used his excellent ring awareness to get to the ropes forcing Xander to stop the count.

  • Despite both men having been born in the United States, a “USA!” chant began to ring throughout the arena and this chant was clearly being done to show support for Devil Dog.

  • This support would end up not mattering as a well-placed poke in the eye led to Remmy gaining control of the match.

  • Once in control of the match, Remmy did not let up, and once he knew he had worn down Devil Dog enough Remmy ascended to the top rope, leaped off the top rope, and nailed Devil Dog with a Flying Legdrop.

  • Three seconds later Remmy was able to pick up a hard-fought victory.

Winner: Remmy Honeyman

Time: 16:43

Match Rating: 44

Jerry Martin vs. Cip Conduit vs. Raphael with Lucinda Larouche

Match:

  • The match begins and Raphael immediately proposes a working alliance with Cip in order to eliminate Jerry. Raphael is heard saying, “After that, we’ll let the chips fall where they may.”

  • Cip agrees and an overly thrilled Raphael then quickly leaves the ring and heads over to the commentary where he joins Rob and Frank on commentary in the match that he is in.

  • Raphael says on commentary, “Let Cip deal with that lunatic, I’ll sit back and enjoy the show.”

  • Inside the ring a confused Cip is attacked by the charging Jerry Martin.

  • The two men exchange strikes before they both take it out of the ring, where they begin to brawl at ringside.

  • Both Cip and Jerry take a lot of punishment during their brawl outside of the ring.

  • At one point, Jerry tossed Cip into the metal barricade that surrounds the ring.

  • Later on Cip takes Jerry’s head and rams it into the steel ring steps, this opens up a cut on Jerry’s forehead and Jerry begins to bleed profusely from said cut.

  • On commentary Raphael decries how barbaric the match is and then says he cannot believe that Referee David Poker is being so lax with the rules.

  • Raphael continues by saying, “Once one of these two is eliminated I am going to warn David Poker about not allowing this match to deteriorate into a glorified hardcore match because that is not what I signed up for. The Golden Hair God does not do hardcore wrestling!”

  • Just as Raphael has finished saying that, Jerry Martin comes over to the announcer’s table and nails Raphael with a vicious left hook, knocking Raphael out of his chair at the announcer’s table.

  • Jerry then takes Raphael and tosses him inside of the ring.

  • Jerry makes a pin attempt here but the stunned Raphael has enough ring awareness to know where the ropes up are and he reaches over and grabs the bottom rope. Forcing David Poker to stop counting the pinfall.

  • Raphael quickly rolls out of the ring just as Cip reenters the ring and stomps Jerry on the back with his right foot.

  • Raphael returns to commentary, complaining about how Jerry manhandled him and it was not fair.

  • Meanwhile, back inside the ring Jerry and Cip are having a good back and forth match, with neither man having much of an advantage.

  • Both men are beating the tar out of each other as Raphael brags on commentary telling Rob and Frank, “This is hands down the easiest match I have ever been in.”

  • Jerry is finally able to take Cip down with a vicious Discus Punch, Jerry then covers Cip, and three seconds later Cip is eliminated from the match.

  • A fresh Raphael leaves the commentary desk and rushes into the ring, he throws everything he can at Jerry before finally taking Jerry down with his finisher Cupid’s Arrow.

  • Raphael covers Jerry for the pin but David Poker stops counting as Jerry was able to put his foot on the bottom rope.

  • A normally cool Raphael looks like he is about to lose it as he yells at Jerry, “Stay down you stupid bastard!”

  • Raphael then proceeds to pick Jerry up, fire Jerry into the ring ropes, and nail Jerry with a second Cupid’s Arrow.

  • Raphael then drags Jerry’s seemingly lifeless body to the center of the ring and covers him for the pinfall.

  • Three seconds later Raphael becomes the first-ever NEW Champion!

The winner of the match and new NEW Champion: Raphael

Time: 18:42;

Match Rating: 45

[After the match is done Referee David Poker raises Raphael’s right arm to indicate he was victorious. A gleeful Lucinda Larouche enters the ring and hugs Raphael, she then gives him a peck on his cheek.

NEW Owner Buddy Garner enters the ring, with the NEW Championship, accompanied by Tabitha Mara. Buddy then puts the newly won title around the waist of Raphael, before congratulating him.

Raphael is heard saying to Buddy, “There is no need to congratulate me when I just did the inevitable.” Buddy rolls his eyes and steps out of the ring.]

Q30rDF9.jpg?1

Tabita Mara: Raphael how does it feel to be the first-ever NEW Champion?

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: How does it feel? It feels great but everyone knew this was going to be the outcome. There is no need to celebrate the inevitable!

[The fans start booing Raphael loudly as the newly crowned champion smugly looks out into the crowd.]

9ODyyTw.jpg?1

Raphael: You know what Tabitha? I just wrestled a damn near twenty-minute match and I still smell better than any of these cretins in the crowd. Because I am the Golden Hair God and I am your new NEW Champion!

That’s not me being conceited love, that’s me telling the truth! Now if you all will excuse me, Lucinda and I, have our own...personal celebration we’d like to do.

Ain’t that right babe?

[Raphael kisses Lucinda and pats her on the butt. After the kissing is done she smiles and licks her lips and says...]

X2pReb2.jpg?1

Lucinda Larouche: That’s right tiger!

[The show comes to an end with the newly crowned NEW Champion and his girlfriend leaving the ring to a chorus of loud boos. The fans are hurling trash at the champ and his girlfriend head towards the backstage of the arena.]

Post-Show Notes:

1. Now it is time for my generic sentence I always post here (But I really do mean it)...First and foremost I would like to thank everyone who predicted in the prediction contest. Especially 1PWfan and KnowYourEnemy who both joined in on the competition during this show.

I have to say that I am not sure when I am going to end this round of the competition because I cannot find a good time to hold a Top Prospects Tournament. This might be a longer competition. I was thinking about having the leader after the next show decide what my secondary title should be.

2. I messed up calling BP fat in so many of the shows. Until recently, I had not really opened up the save as I had been writing the shows.

However, when I did I saw that BP is oh so very clearly not fat according to the game. I was just going by his render, I mean look at his head next to Nate's head. BP's head is like three times the size, the dude looks fat from his picture.

Anyway, I could not recall what shows I wrote where the Jet Set made cracks about his weight so I just left it in there. Maybe the Jet Set are the type of people who think everyone is fat who does not have six-pack abs.

Langston “Lion Heart” Franklin vs. Seth James Wilson

I could be wrong here but it feels like Wilson has had more focus which suggests he's going over here[/Quote]

You were not wrong because I have focused more on SJW. But he has no popularity in New England. I think at this point in the game he was at or around 5 or 6. He just now passed the 8 in the game and I am a few months down the road.

His popularity just does not seem to grow.

Jerry Pepper vs. Tavon Blake Jr.

The Jet Set are awesome but they remind me so much of The Dynasty that I instinctively want them to suffer

Nate DeMarcus & BP SWOLL vs. The Jet Set

See my last comment on the Jet Set[/Quote]

Nothing wrong with that, but unlike the Dynasty, Jet Set hardly ever wins. Or I should say, Jack and Rocco hardly ever win. Tavon wins and wins often.

Devil Dog vs. Remmy Honeyman

Remmy has main-event level talent, even if he's not really a credible top guy[/Quote]

At the point I am in the game now, Remmy is considered a main-eventer. It was not planned but it just happened, he is the opposite of SJW. His popularity has grown by leaps and bounds and I am not really trying to do anything to push him. So I am a little shocked by how high his popularity has risen.

Jerry Pepper vs. Tavon Blake Jr.

Pepper´s character ain´t really established yet as far as I can remember. Blake haven´t won as much as I would have expected but he has plenty of promo time alongside Jet Set team mates so he´s still way more established than Pepper in my eyes.[/Quote]

Jerry was initially supposed to be more of a star in this diary. I originally had him slated to be in a tag team with Paulie Pelton but while Paulie's pop has grown pretty good, Jerry is the babyface version of SJW in that his pop never seems to grown.

Devil Dog vs. Remmy Honeyman

I believe you said that Dog refused to lose to Blake earlier so I´d assume this might be similar situation. Plus Dog is singles guy while Remmy has tag team to fall back on so thinking Devil Dog could use the win bit more even if he would be willing to lose this one.[/Quote]

Remmy is actually slightly more popular than Devil Dog or when I played this match that was the case, in the current game Remmy is far more popular than Devil Dog. This is strange because Devil Dog is in my other New England promotion where he is the tag champ with Dom DeGraff (Sp? I don't have the game open to see if that is right) and he is also in PSW which has TV. Remmy is only in NEW and he wrestles the occasional indy show and that is it.

This match and the Mauler/Onslaught match were booked because I had nothing for them to do so I just threw them into these matches.

Also, I will freely admit I had a strong feeling that Devil Dog and Remmy were going to give me a pretty high match rating because Remmy does it on every single show and Devil Dog's matches tend to rank high as well. They did not disappoint me with their match rating for this match.

You are right Raphael is the most over in the company. This is part of the reason why I never signed Hollywood Hank to this company because I would have had to give him the title (He is the champion of NEW's sister promotion) and Hank is far too broken down to have the title. Conner's popularity is not that much behind Raphael's and as you can see by the events in this show I am holding off having them face-off against each other.

Sorry for being MIA but I'm all caught up now.

1. "Hick From French Lick"? Nice Larry Legend reference lol

2. Gotta echo the love for Jet Set and SJW. Though, I feel like you're trying too hard not to offend people with SJW, and it's diluting him a little.

3. A bit predictable with Raphael winning the title. But I understand, it's a popularity thing. He's a good heel and at least he's got a bunch of storylines ready. I think we'll see Jerry Martin (aka Tommy Dreamer?) as his first challenger.

4. I hope you've got more stories written!

5. I think the Onslaught name doesn't fit the character, but then again, his character isn't "gay Latino," so what do I know. Maybe do something where SJW tries to force a "socially acceptable" name for him?

I had a few other thoughts but forgot to write them down. :o

[The following footage is from NEW's YouTube channel.

We see Conner Threepwood sitting at a desk writing something in a notepad. Conner then looks up at the camera and a sadistic smile creeps across his face. He then shows the camera what he was writing in the notepad.

On it are three names Deathwish, Sasquatch McGraw, and Raphael. Conner begins to speak in a very low tone.]

Conner Threepwood: Above all else, I am an athlete, I am not here to hurt people. I am not here to end careers. I am here to win matches, plain and simple.

Last month Raphael, you showed your true colors. You showed the world just how much of a coward you are when you paid Carl Batch to have his thugs take me out of the NEW Championship Tournament.

You were so afraid to face me in the ring you had to hire goons to take me out. How pathetic is that?

Well Raph, you should have paid Brutality Inc. just a little more money. Maybe then they would have taken me out permanently...but you didn't. Because on top of being a coward, you're also cheap and now that cheapness is going to cost you.

The doctors have medically cleared me, they have deemed me as fit as a fiddle. This means I am going to now embark on my revenge tour.

Raph I am not coming for you at Live and Let Die because you are just one stop on my revenge tour. The list I showed you just moments before is a list of the names who are going to pay for what happened to me last month. The first name on that list is Deathwish.

Deathwish you might be one of the most unhinged people in NEW. But that doesn't bother me any, because while you may bark like a dog and act batcrap crazy...at the end of the day, you're just a man.

A man who I can and I will beat at Live and Let Die.

I just wanted to say that when people post in my diary and I do not answer right away it is not because I am ignoring anyone. What I try to do is not needlessly bump my diary in order to keep it on the first page.

I do not think it is fair to people who have actual updates in their diaries and so that is why I try to answer or comment on any posts in a post like this. I hope people are cool with that.

I missed the predictions for this and I apologize -- with the new year and everything I've been busy, but good show! I can't believe you put the title on Rapheal.

You never have to apologize to me for that. I understand life gets in the way. Out of the thousands of other things people do throughout the day posting predictions in diaries should probably be the last thing you think about.

I am just grateful for anyone who does take the time to predict or comment because in the past I have had shows where I got no predictions at all. That is why I always post that general thank you post after every show. Because I sincerely do appreciate anyone who takes the time to predict.

Raphael is the most over guy I have on the roster and he always turns out high match grades, so I really didn't have much choice in the matter.:D

Good first show!!!

Thank you very much, I am glad you took the time to check it out.

1. "Hick From French Lick"? Nice Larry Legend reference lol

Well, I grew up a Celtics fan so I could not pass it up.

2. Though I feel like you're trying too hard not to offend people with SJW, and it's diluting him a little.

Maybe, but at the end of the day this site is Adam's business and I really don't want to seriously offend someone over a character in a diary. There is a storyline that I have been going back and forth with using him in. I want to do it and I don't think it is that bad, but once again you just never know what will offend others.

4. I hope you've got more stories written!

I was far ahead but I have burned through my stockpile of shows pretty quickly. I think I am only three shows ahead now.

Which is sort of good, but also not at the same time. I think I actually like writing shows before I post them and not having a stockpile of shows. Mainly because I often forget what I wrote months or weeks before and it is a pain in the ass trying to keep track of everything.

When I am writing shows the week of, I tend to remember things easier. I have always worked this way, when I was in college (Yes I went to college, I may make a ton of typos, spelling errors, and other various grammatical errors but I am not getting paid to do this. If I was you better believe this would be more grammatically correct.:D) I would have papers assigned to me weeks ahead of time and I would always put off writing them to the last minute because that worked for me. If I would try to write in advance the papers would just not flow as smoothly.

5. I think the Onslaught name doesn't fit the character, but then again, his character isn't "gay Latino," so what do I know. Maybe do something where SJW tries to force a "socially acceptable" name for him?

Well, Adam was the one who named him. Maybe I should convey why he is called Onslaught better, so that is on me. According to his bio, he is called Onslaught because he never relents with his offense. I could probably do better trying to get that point across.

I wanted to make the character of Onslaught be more than just the gay wrestler and more of a wrestler who happens to be gay. I am not gay, but if I was I would not want to be defined as just the gay dude.

That is why I wanted him to not have that one part of his life be the one thing to define him. I mean sure it is an important part of his life but it is one of many important parts of his life.

This is a very interesting match up and I could really see it going either way. Tavon Blake Jr. could develop into a stud, but so can Nate DeMarcus and Nate's a little further on in his career (and I'm a little biased towards him)
