Total Championship Wrestling - Wrestling Wonderland

Recommended Posts

Minor thing, but Total Wrestling is on Tuesday nights so unless you changed Total Wrestling to Monday or PPVs to Monday, it wouldn't be "last night". It was referenced as happening the night before twice

Yeah, that's just my slip up in writing, Total Wrestling is still live on Tuesdays and I tape Saturday Night Showcase on the same day. I don't know what my default is "last night" when talking about the previous PPV... I fixed it at least twice while writing other segments as well.

It's super minor, but I thought I'd bring it up just in case I missed a schedule change somewhere.

I'm glad the Cobras got a good win! In TEW2016, I built an epic storyline between the Cobras and. the Canadian Animals. It turned Huggins, Edd Stone, Malloy, and Spillane into main eventers.

Just caught up with this Diary. Really enjoying it so far keep up the good work.

Thanks for the feedback, I think I'm starting to find my groove with several of the characters and finding a good balance between writing good shows and not over-writing unimportant ones.

IAdc0El.jpg4S7WrE0.jpg

Aaron Andrews and Freddy Huggins start the show, one entrance after the other, to address the crowd for their main event match tonight against The Syndicate.

"Apparently The Syndicate didn't get enough of the Hugster on Tuesday, because they signed up for some more tonight!" Huggins pumps up the crowd. "And Wolf? Oh, man, I definitely need some more time in the ring with Hawkins, what about you, Ace?"

"Wolf can take all the time he wants," Andrews begins. "But he's never gonna get the better of The Ace!"

The pair continue for several minutes, really getting the crowd going and giving tonight's show the hard sell.

"Stay tuned, you don't wanna miss The Ace... on ACE," Andrews winks at the crowd before the announcers pitch to commercial.

SHOCKING MATT HOCKING

VERSUS

RAYNE MAN

The Shocking One makes short work of Rayne Man, picking up a win with the Hock Shock.

WINNER: Shocking Matt Hocking (5:23)

MATCH RATING: 42

Greg Gauge is in the ring when we return, microphone in hand, TCW TV title over his shoulder, ready to cut a promo.

"Week-in, and week-out... I've proven that no one is worthy of being in MY ring," Gauge begins. "Not Sammy Bach, not Troy Tornado, not Benny Benson... NO ONE! And so tonight, the Championship Committee has seen fit to offer up another bright, young star instead of some washed up quote-unquote superstar... but, really, T-Bone Bright? Bright, young star that some may consider him... he's still not worthy of being in the ring with The Second Generation Superstar!"

Gauge runs down the crowd as they boo him, until T-Bone's entrance calls his attention.

TCW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH

GREG GAUGE ©

VERSUS

T-BONE BRIGHT

T-Bone does well in the beginning, using his size to gain the advantage for a while before they start going back-and-forth. When it looks like T-Bone might win, ”The Hitman” Ernest Youngman appears to cause a distraction.

“Not again, not like this!” Doakes cries on commentary as Gauge capitalizes on the distraction with an inverted DDT and quickly locks on the Proton Lock in the middle of the ring.

“Three defenses in a row now with tainted victories!” Rhodes shouts as T-Bone taps, unable to get out of the center of the ring.

WINNER, AND STILL CHAMPION: GREG GAUGE (7:29)

Back from break, and Dogs of War are out with their TCW Tag Team titles to cut a promo. They liken their offense to military weaponry, and claim that no one in TCW is ready to go to war.

JAY CHORD

VERSUS

MIGHTY MO

There was plenty of history to play off of in this match as Jay Chord and Mighty Mo went to war, but the the finish had nothing to do with the past and everything to do with the present. Eddie Peak appeared with Nick Booth in tow, Booth distracting the ref while Eddie entered the ring and hit Mighty Mo with the Peak of Perfection before leaving Jay Chord to pick the remains for pinfall victory as the Sinner Society waits outside.

WINNER: JAY CHORD (12:27)

MATCH RATING: 82

aPny4LO.jpg

Following the match, The Behemoths make their entrance and the entirety of the Sinner Society start to lay a beatdown on Mighty Mo; Jay Chord waves off the assault and makes his exit. The attack continues 4-on-1 for a moment before Tana the Mighty comes hurtling into the ring with a chair in hand to ward off the attack. The Sinner Society retreat, but the damage to Mighty Mo has been done.

AARON ANDREWS & FREDDY HUGGINS

VERSUS

THE ELITE

(EDDIE CHANDLER & NATE JOHNSON)

The experience of Chandler & Johnson plays well in helping them maintain the upperhand for much of the match, but in the end they are no match for the awesome babyface force of Andrews & Huggins. An Ace Crusher ends it in about sixteen-and-a-half minutes.

WINNERS: Aaron Andrews & Freddy Huggins (16:28)

TCW presents Total Wrestling

Tuesday, Week Two, March 2020 - LIVE from The Ranch of San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)

Announce Team: Jason Azaria, Kyle Rhodes, and Jasmine Saunders

Attendance: 9,476 - TV Rating: 3.57 on ACE; 0.41 on IC-TV

Show Rating: 86

Q6XX2us.jpg

Ricky Dale Johnson is out to start the show, taking pride in all he’s done to restore order in TCW since his appointment by the Championship Committee.

“It’s been a lotta work, not just gettin’ things under control ‘round here, but also rememberin’ that I ain’t just one a’ the boys no more,” the Committee Cowboy explains to the crowd. “Don’t think I forgot that it ain’t just age why I ain’t in the ring no more, but that Wolf Hawkins run me out of town. Don’t think I ain’t heard the way Jay Chord talks to me when he’s upset, it ain’t the way one man talks to another that’s in charge. But, much as I might like, I gotta remember that I’m runnin’ the asylum cuz I ain’t an inmate no more.”

The crowd cheers on their beloved Texan as he regales them with a story of winning a huge match in his career against Rip Chord right here in this arena, but he’s interrupted in the middle of it by Jay Chord!

rKWGkKG.jpg

“You have the audacity to come out here and say you don’t mean to disrespect the TCW wrestlers, and then you pivot immediately into a story about one of my father’s most humiliating moments?” Chord bristles. “You say I don’t talk to you like you're the man in charge, but what have you done to earn an ounce of respect from me or anyone else since you strolled into town?”

“Now, now, Jay, I didn’t mean anything by…” Johnson tries to explain, but Chord cuts him off.

“Cut the s---, Ricky!” Jay shouts. “You think I don’t see through this? You think Wolf and The Syndicate doesn’t see through you playing favorites?”

“What are you talkin’ about, Jay?” Johnson asks, clearly puzzled by the accusation.

“You ride in here on your high horse, you stack the deck for your old friend Sammy Bach to try and get him the Television title, but Greg Gauge saw to it that that didn’t happen!” Jay fumes. “You’re there at every turn to stack the deck against Wolf Hawkins, just because you claim he has unfair advantages… but what about that Championship Committee, Ricky? How fair is that they let you throw him into a three-way dance when he earned his one-on-one shot against the champion!”

“Jay, now you just hold up right there,” the Committee Cowboy grimaces. “I don’t care a dog’s lick that you don’t like me, but I won’t have you out here questionin’ my integrity.”

“What integrity?!” Chord fires back. “You’re a washed up wrestler, a has-been clinging to relativity by taking a job as the representative of some kangaroo court!”

“Enough!” RDJ shouts. “You entitled little brat, that’s enough!”

“Entitled? I’ll show you entitled--” Chord starts, but his words are garbled as he brings the microphone back and nails RDJ right in the forehead with it! His cowboy hat is knocked off, and he falls to the ground, Chord right there to continue his assault by firing off more shots with the microphone into Johnson’s forehead and face.

“Try and stand in the way of my destiny?!” he seethes into the microphone before firing off another shot, referees and road agents pouring out of the back to get between Chord and the fallen RDJ.

“What is Jay Chord thinking?!” Azaria ponders in bewilderment.

“He’s just attacked the representative of our Championship Committee!” Rhodes adds.

The ring is nearly full of people who work for TCW now, Dean Daniels shouting at Chord to back off as the cameras catch a glimpse of Ricky Dale Johnson, his forehead busted open and blood trickling down his face.

“What a way to start the night, don’t go anywhere!” Saunders pleads with the viewers as we head to the first commercial break.

"THE HITMAN"

ERNEST YOUGNMAN

VERSUS

"THE BUZZSAW"

FRANKIE PEREZ

Commentary notes during the match that Ricky Dale Johnson has been taken to a local hospital, and the TCW Championship Committee has issued a $25,000 fine against Jay Chord for assaulting a member of management. The match itself was violent brawl between The Buzzsaw and The Hitman that saw them trade momentum a few times before Youngman ended it with a huge version of The Hit to pick up the pinfall victory.

WINNER: Ernest Youngman (9:52)

MATCH RATING: 64

b97NFHg.jpg

We talk to T-Bone Bright backstage after the match, who has a warning for The Hitman.

“I thought after The War to Settle the Score that we’d be done, but you had to have your valet stick her nose into things to come out with the victory!” Bright taunts. “Then, this past Saturday on Showcase, you stick your nose is my business again and cost me the TCW Television title! Well, we’re done with this little song and dance, Hitman. I’m ready to move on to bigger and better things, and that means ridding myself… of you! Battleground, Youngman… you and me, one more time! Let’s run it back, and I’mma run yo ass into the dirt!”

SHOCKING

MATT HOCKING

VERSUS

BART BIGGINS

Commentary tells us Hocking demanded a rematch after losing in such a flash last week. The match plays out much the same, only this time Hocking nails a lowblow when the ref isn't looking and then picks up a tainted win with the Hock Shock.

Following the bout, Biggins and Hocking have a shoving match over the outcome, and commentary notes that it doesn’t look like this is over just yet.

THE AMERICAN COBRAS

VERSUS

DEVINE FORTUNE

(DARRYL DEVINE & CHANCE FORTUNE)

Another fine outing from the Cobras, but they once again need the help of their manager, Floyd Goldworthy, to pull out the victory. Another shot from the "Golden Voice" megaphone aids them before a Cobra Strike picks up the win.

Following the match, the Cobras decide to add insult to injury after their tainted victory and put the boots to Devine Fortune. It doesn't last long, however, before The Love Machines come to make the save!

"They cheated the Love Machines out of victory last week!" Saunders reasons on commentary as the reason for the save.

From their VIP suite, The Syndicate are lounging around and talking to hype up the main event.

“You know what guys? Don’t even worry about it,” Wolf Hawkins is telling Eddie Chandler and Nate Johnson about their loss on Saturday Night Showcase. “Everyone in The Syndicate has proven themselves, win or lose… just don’t let it happen again,” he warns. “Now, me and Doc will take care of it tonight… I’m going to pin the World Champion once again, and Ricky Dale Johnson is NOT going to deny me my one-one-one chance against Andrews for the title.

TCW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH

GREG GAUGE ©

VERSUS

FLYING

JIMMY FOXX

These two just did not click, but they still managed to pull together a decent TV match. For the first time in a few weeks, Gauge picks up the win without cheating by catching Foxx in a Proton Lock for the submission victory.

Following the match, Gauge kicks Foxx out of the ring and gets on the mic to gloat about his victory. He says that, once again, he’s proven no one is worthy of being in his ring. That brings out Troy Tornado, who says he’s surprised Gauge was able to get a win cleanly before charging the ring. The two brawl for a moment before referees and road agents fill the ring for the second time tonight to put a stop to a fight.

WINNER, AND STILL CHAMPION: Greg Gauge (10:56)

Joshua Taylor's open challenge is up next, and he kicks off the segment with his usual Straight Edge spiel. It doesn't take long before the music of Sammy Bach fills the arena, and The Rock God comes out to accept!

CHALLENGE RATING: 66

ACCEPTANCE RATING: 74

2y36Ffs.jpg1Thm9R4.jpg

JOSHUA TAYLOR

VERSUS

SAMMY BACH

In a competitive match, Bach takes control in the beginning but Taylor gains the upperhand and starts to dismantle The Rock God by focusing on his shoulders and arms to setup for the Butterfly Lock. He becomes more and more vicious as the match goes on, and eventually uses a low blow behind the ref's back to stop a Bach comeback.

"Taylor's arrogant, but he's never been a cheat, what gives?" Azaria wonders on commentary.

It isn't long from there before the Butterfly Lock puts an end to it, and Taylor keeps it clamped on until the ref threatens to reverse his decision if he doesn't let go.

WINNER: Joshua Taylor (11:51)

MATCH RATING: 74

Taylor gets on the mic and reveals someone paid him off for his work tonight, Jay Chord coming out so the pair can put the boots to Bach together. The crowd is booing Chord heavily after his actions earlier in the night, as well as his actions here. A Super DDT from Chord, then Taylor hooks in the Butterfly Lock again while Chord berates Bach as we go to break.

AARON ANDREWS & FREDDY HUGGINS

VERSUS

THE SYNDICATE

(WOLF HAWKINS & DOC HAMMOND)

The big story coming out of this match is that Wolf Hawkins was once again able to score a clean pinfall over Aaron Andrews, just not in singles competition. Full Moon Rising takes the win in a big TV main event that ran close to twenty minutes.

TCW Saturday Night Showcase

Saturday, Week 2, March 2020 - ‘LIVE’ from The Rance of San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)

Announce Team: Shawn Doakes, Kyle Rhodes, and Jasmine Saunders

Attendance: 9,476- TV Rating: 3.10 on ACE; 0.36 on IC-TV

Show Rating: 78

Q6XX2us.jpg

Ricky Dale Johnson is out to open the show, bandage visible on his forehead even beneath his trademark cowboy hat; there is no smile on The Committee Cowboy’s face tonight as he makes his way to the ring. The announce team remind us of Jay Chord’s unwarranted assault of Johnson this past Tuesday on Total Wrestling, and mention how we’ll see him in the main event tonight.

“I come out here tonight to say a couple things,” RDJ begins. “First off, something I never got the chance to say on Tuesday concernin’ the main event at Battleground coming up in a few weeks.” The crowd starts to stir as they realize a big announcement is about to be made. “Now, until this past Tuesday, my whole job here in TCW had been Syndicate this, and Alpha Wolf that, just back-an’-forth nonsense with a guy who thinks he should be runnin’ the place. Well, at Battleground, it’s gonna be time to put up or shut up, as they say… ‘cause I’ve got somethin’ new in mind.”

“What’s The Committee Cowboy come up with?” Doakes ponders on commentary.

“The Syndicate, any four of ya…. against a team captained by the TCW World Champion, Aaron Andrews, in the first-ever Battleground match!” he announces before going on to explain the rules. “First, we surround the ring with a twenty foot high steel cage! Then, two men enter, one from each team… every two minutes, another man enters, based on whoever wins a coin toss backstage. The war doesn’t begin until the Battleground is full… and from there, the only way to win is to make someone from the other team surrender: make ‘em tap out, make ‘em say I quit, however you gotta do it!” The crowd is hot for the announcement of this new match, but RDJ isn’t done.

“And, just to make things a little more interestin’,” he continues before a dramatic pause. “If The Syndicate wins, Wolf… I’ll give you your shot at Total Mayhem.” The crowd mixes in some boos at this part of the announcement.

“Now, second thing I come out here to talk about,” he says, taking off his cowboy hat and sitting it on a ringpost to show off his heavily bandaged forehead, “is Jay Chord.” RDJ looks directly into the camera now, his face is all business. “You crossed a line on Tuesday, Jay… nevermind you put your hands on management, but you put your hands on me! Don’t think for one second that I ain’t too old to put a hurtin’ on you, boy. I don’t think either one of us really cares about the fine the Committee issued against you, it’s just a number, but this?” Johnson points to his forehead. “This is the reality of your actions, Jay… and actions have consequences, mark my words. You think you’ve got some destiny to fulfill? Some quest yer on?” RDJ shakes his head. “See if you get there with me standin’ in your way.”

With that, Johnson literally drops the mic to end the segment as the announce team talk about how dangerous an angry Ricky Dale Johnson can be for Jay Chord, and TCW at large.

SEGMENT RATING: 88

The Supremacy are out next for a promo before their match: Jeremie Courtney, Austin Smooth, and Davis Wayne Newton have been on a roll since showing up at The War to Settle the Score. Courtney talks about how they’ve been living the good life, champagne and VIP suites, before pitching to Smooth who does what has become his signature line about them being the “only supreme the matters in wrestling.” Newton plays hype man through much of the segment, agreeing with his partners before telling the crowd they get the privilege of seeing him in action tonight as it’ll be Courtney and himself against The Love Machines.

THE SUPREMACY

(JEREMIE COURTNEY & DAVIS WAYNE NEWTON)

VERSUS

THE LOVE MACHINES

(DANNY FONZARELLI & EDD STONE)

In a competitive and surprisingly energetic match, these two teams went at it with the young Supremacy members really shining in the ring with Edd Stone. Near the end of the bout, Floyd Goldworthy emerged with his “Golden Voice” megaphone and began ranting at The Love Machines-- the distraction is enough to allow Jeremie Courtney to snag Edd Stone for a Face First Suplex and the win.

WINNERS: The Supremacy (8:16)

MATCH RATING: 54

Aaron Andrews is out after the break to talk about the Battleground match Ricky Dale Johnson booked at the top of the show. He says it won’t be easy to find three other men willing to go to war against The Syndicate, but he’s got a pretty good idea of at least one man to ask: Freddy Huggins.

“I know Huggins wants a shot at Wolf and The Syndicate just as badly as I do,” Andrews tells the crowd. “So I’m asking him to join my team, and I’m offering him this: if we win,” he lifts the title on his shoulder slightly, “I’ll give Freddy a World title match at Where Angels Fear to Tread next month; just give me an answer on Tuesday.”

“Wow!” Kyle Rhodes exclaims. “The World Champion is willing to make deals to get it done at Battleground!”

“I think he just made Freddy an offer he can’t refuse,” Saunders adds.

SEGMENT RATING: 74

T-BONE BRIGHT

VERSUS

CHRIS FLYNN

Another highly competitive match, T-Bone taking on what could be considered a step-up in competition here with The Syndicate’s Chris Flynn. The announcers frequently bring up Bright’s feud with “The Hitman” Ernest Youngman, and even speculate that he’ll make an appearance here tonight but that proves untrue during the match. The finish sees T-Bone levelling Flynn with a huge T-Bone Lariat for the pinfall.

WINNER: T-Bone Bright (10:20)

MATCH RATING: 59

Eddie Peak makes his entrance after a commercial in his mockery of a priest’s garb, taking his place at his wretched-looking pulpit in the ring for his latest Sinners’ Sermon. He rambles on and on about violence, chaos, and pride… he accuses The Mighty, Mighty Mo and Tana the Mighty, of being too prideful and claims it will be their downfall.

“Woe unto the prideful, those men who call themselves The Mighty,” Peak preaches. “For the sinners will overcome their pride, and pull them into the depths of the abyss! Even now, as I speak, a Titan and a Killer Shark are hunting… hunting The Mighty, sniffing out their pride, ready to strike!”

SEGMENT RATING: 60

As Peak continues his rambling sermon, the announce team starts to speak over him and say that something is going on in the back. We are taken to the back where a cameraperson is rushing towards a ruckus, clanging and grunting can be heard before anything clear can be seen.

24gegRW.jpgXG7AGA6.jpgovPJTR7.jpgbwFNAlQ.jpg

The Mighty and The Behemoths are in the middle of a violent brawl, the camera catching things just as Mighty Mo flings Titan into a wall and Tana brawls with Killer Shark. Things go back and forth, but The Behemoths have the upperhand in the end as they bash Tana with chairs before putting Mighty Mo through a table, Eddie Peak still in the ring psychobabbling all the while.

JAY CHORD

VERSUS

TROY TORNADO

Another highly competitive match on a show that was thin on matches but heavy on action, Jay Chord and the newly face Troy Tornado battle it out for just over fifteen minutes. The TCW Television Champion Greg Gauge makes an appearance at one point to attempt a distraction on Troy Tornado, but The Star Maker sends him packing with a dazzling new springboard dropkick before heading back into the ring. While the distraction from Gauge doesn’t cause the finish, it does allow Jay Chord to turn the tides and eventually pick up the win with a Cradle Piledriver.

WINNER: Jay Chord (15:06)

MATCH RATING: 79
