TOTALWRESTLING.COM UPDATE - JANUARY 01, 2020

Psycho Circus 2019 is in the books, Total Wrestling fans, and Aaron Andrews is still your TCW World Champion! After a barnburner of a main event against Joshua Taylor where he became the first competitor to break the Butterfly Lock, Andrews picked up the victory. The Ace didn't have long to celebrate, however, before he was confronted by the King of Kings, the Alpha Wolf himself, Wolf Hawkins! The leader of The Syndicate made it clear he was setting his sights on the World Champion, and we won't have to wait long to find out more-- I'm happy to break the news that Wolf Hawkins will open up our Total Wrestling broadcast this Tuesday night on ACE! You'll have to tune in to find out what he has to say, and I'm sure the champion will be listening.

In more unfortunate Syndicate news, Chris Flynn suffered an injury to his shoulder coming out of the pay-per-view card. The Jock, and the muscle of The Syndicate, isn't expected to be out of action long before making his return.

Also retaining his championship, and fending off the final challenge of former Television Champion Doc Hammond, Greg Gauge will be in action once again this Tuesday as his defends his title against fan favorite, Dazzling Dave Diamond! For those unfamiliar with the rules of the TCW Television title, contests take place under a 15-minute time limit, and Hammond nearly took the second generation star to the limit before falling to the Proton Lock like so many others. Once again, you'll find Greg Gauge versus Dazzling Dave Diamond this Tuesday on ACE!

TCW World Tag Team Champions The Behemoths will be in action this Tuesday after their actions last week on Total Wrestling forced TCW officials to remove their title defense against The Mighty from the Psycho Circus card. After being attacked by The Sinner Society backstage, doctors ruled Mighty Mo and Tana the Mighty unfit to compete in their scheduled tag team title match at the PPV. While the team is still not cleared to compete, they have signed waivers making this Tuesday's title defense a match where TCW management is held harmless in the case of serious injury.

Several non-contracted talent have recently been seen at the TCW offices, and while I am not at liberty to release any names to the public, I am able to confirm that at least one of these people has signed a contract with the company. Might they show up this week on Total Wrestling?

One singing I
can
confirm for you is the developmental signing of second generation star Chip Martin, who will report to Mid Atlantic Wrestling just in time for the 15th annual Rip Chord Invitational.

That does it for this Monday's edition of Just the Facts, you can check us out every week on Monday mornings for all the TCW news fit to print!

TCW presents Total Wrestling

January, Week 1, 2020 - LIVE from The Ranch of San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)

Announce Team: Shawn Doakes, Kyle Rhodes, and Jasmine Saunders

Attendance: 9,290 - TV Rating: 3.38

Show Rating: 80

Total Wrestling kicks off with the music of The Syndicate, all five members making their way to the ring decked out in suits as always (except for Chris Flynn in his trademark leather jacket). Wolf Hawkins spends a few minutes putting himself over as the King of Kings and the next destined TCW World Champion before laying down a challenge for Malice in Wonderland; this is soon followed by the music of Aaron Andrews!

The Ace makes his way out into the arena, but stays on the entrance ramp lest he fall victim to the numbers game. Andrews reminds the Alpha Wolf that it was he who dethroned Hawkins in the first place, sending The Syndicate into a fit. After accepting the challenge, Flynn tries to take out Andrews, but he fights him off and sends him back towards the ring with his tail between his legs.

Hawkins insists it will be a different situation tonight when Andrews meets Doc Hammond in the main event, insisting Hammond will win the World title and then lay it at his feet. A quick look on Doc’s face lets the audience know he might not be entirely alright with that scenario before we head to the first commercial break.

SEGMENT RATING: 92

TCW TV TITLE MATCH

GREG GAUGE ©

VERSUS

DAZZLING DAVE DIAMOND

The San Antonio crowd was hot for the opener, and firmly behind the brawler Dazzling Dave Diamond… unfortunately, the aging crowd favorite just isn’t built to deliver. Greg Gauge did his best to channel some of his father’s classic brawls in the 5 minutes they were allotted, but the crowd just flailed quickly as they realized Gauge was putting in most of the offense. In the end, Gauge forced Diamond to tap to the Proton Lock.

WINNER, AND STILL CHAMPION: GREG GAUGE (5:18)

After the match, Greg Gauge grabs a microphone and tells the crowd that while plenty of people around here claim to be the future of the company… he’s the only one holding up the TCW Television championship. Come and take it, if you can.

MATCH RATING: 44

PROMO RATING: 62

FREDDY HUGGINS

w/ LAURA CATHERINE HUGGINS

VERSUS

EDD STONE

In a match that likely would have served as a better opener, Huggins and Stone delivered a fast-paced match-up that the crowd ate up. Several spots harkened back to earlier moments in their rivalry, including a moment where Laura nearly helped Freddy cheat by throwing him one of her heels but the referee caught it instead and ejected her from ringside for the remainder of the contest. In the end, Huggins didn’t need to cheat to win as he caught Stone with a Huggins Kiss for the victory.

WINNER: FREDDY HUGGINS (8:04)

MATCH RATING: 67

JAY CHORD

VERSUS

HUMAN ARSENAL

Jay Chord’s music hits and he enters the ring with a microphone in hand, claiming that there’s a lot of talk about the future of TCW going on tonight… but the conversation starts and ends with him. Human Arsenal might as well be a human fossil, and tonight he’s going to grind his bones to dust.

A great contest that the crowd really got into, but the outcome was never really in doubt. The ending saw Chord nail Arsenal with the Cradle Piledriver on the ring apron before rolling him back inside for the pin.

WINNER: JAY CHORD (10:13)

PROMO RATING: 67

MATCH RATING: 71

Joshua Taylor is backstage for an interview, absolutely fuming about his loss at Psycho Circus. He starts to challenge Aaron Andrews to a rematch, but One Man Army strolls into the shot and tells Taylor he should watch the match back and ask himself if he really deserves a rematch. The two break out into a brawl before the show heads to commercial.

SEGMENT RATING: 69

THE ELITE (EDDIE CHANDLER & NATE JOHNSON)

VERSUS

BENNY BENSON & FLYING JIMMY FOXX

This match let the crowd cool off a little, and played out like a typical Elite TV match has played out during their run with The Syndicate-- lots of teamwork and shortcuts, with old school double teams to isolate one of their opponents. This time, Foxx played the face-in-peril for most of the match before Benson made the hot comeback but the team still came up short, falling to an Elitism finisher.

WINNERS: THE ELITE (10:20)

MATCH RATING: 63

TCW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

THE BEHEMOTHS (KILLER SHARK & TITAN) ©

W/ FLOYD GOLDWORTHY

VERSUS

THE MIGHTY

Floyd Goldworthy is seen backstage with The Behemoths, Killer Shark and Titan, before the commercial break to issue a warning to The MIghty, Tana the Mighty and Mighty Mo. Last week, these monsters nearly put down The Mighty, but this week they want more? Pride is a deadly sin, and tonight it just might be their end.

This match, despite the “hold harmless” stipulation, is not slated to be a non-sanctioned or no holds barred bout; some in the crowd seemed confused about that, but these two teams gave them a wild brawl nevertheless and they ate it up. Tana the Mighty has definitely lost a step or two, but the crowd seems to still love him anyway. The ending saw Goldworthy get involved, distracting the referee long enough for Tana to get nailed with a Tag Team title belt and The Behemoths to retain.

WINNERS, AND STILL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE BEHEMOTHS (8:04)

PROMO RATING: 68

MATCH RATING: 66

SAMMY BACH

VERSUS

SHOCKING MATT HOCKING

The crowd loves Sammy Bach even after all these years, and the Rock God went to war with Shocking Matt Hocking for them tonight. Hocking couldn’t overcome a Bach on Your Back, and fell to the Rock God.

WINNER: SAMMY BACH (12:24)

After the match, Jay Chord appears from seemingly out of nowhere to assault Sammy Bach! After a vicious Cradle Piledriver on the outside, Chord grabs a microphone and says that it’s time for the past to give way to the future… and that future is Jay Chord!

MATCH RATING: 65

POST-MATCH RATING: 83

TCW WORLD TITLE MATCH

AARON ANDREWS ©

VERSUS

DOC HAMMOND

Chris Flynn was at ringside for this contest, and aided Hammond several times over the course of the match-up. In the end, his presence was overcome by the Ace on his way to victory.

WINNER, AND STILL CHAMPION: AARON ANDREWS (17:23)

After the match, Wolf Hawkins and The Elite hit the ring along with Chris Flynn to put a beatdown on the World Champion to end the show!

MATCH RATING: 77

POST-MATCH RATING: 76

Author's Note:

This is my first diary in ages, and my first diary using TEW2020-- truth be told, my first vested save game for TEW2020 as I've had trouble getting into the new game. I'll be playing with the presentation a bit as we progress until I'm happy with it; I used to use the Fiction Plus editor crayon created waaay back when to make my diaries look good, but I don't think that works anymore. What do people use to make their diary posts look good on the forums nowadays? I'm very unhappy with using the quote boxes like I did in the first episode of Total Wrestling.

Anyone that can point me in the directions of a quality editor would be highly appreciated!

JUST THE FACTS by Jason Azaria

TOTALWRESTLING.COM UPDATE - JANUARY 08, 2020

What an explosive New Year's edition of Total Wrestling on ACE this past Tuesday! Every title in the company was defended, but The Syndicate still reigned supreme over TCW World Champion Aaron Andrews in the end.

We started off hot with the King of Kings, Wolf Hawkins, opening the show alongside the rest of The Syndicate, and it was made clear that the Alpha Wolf wants his title shot at Malice in Wonderland. The Ace, Aaron Andrews, wasted no time in coming out to accept the challenge but several Syndicate members managed to stand between Andrews and any physicality with their leader.

In other championship news, TCW Tag Team Champions The Behemoths retained in controversial fashion, much to the displeasure of the live crowd at The Ranch. With a distraction from Floyd Goldworthy, a shot from one of the Tag Title belts put Tana the Mighty down for the count. Word going around the office is that we'll see a rematch between these two teams sooner rather than later.

Two different men seemed to be singing the same song this past Tuesday in Jay Chord and Greg Gauge, both men claiming to be the future of the company. Will all this bravado put the men on a collision course? For now, at least, it seems Chord has his sights set on Sammy Bach if the vicious post-match attack on the Rock God is any indication.

In an update on last week’s report, I am happy to confirm that several new names have signed with Total Championship Wrestling and will be joining the roster soon. While I’m not at liberty to reveal any of those names just yet, I can assure you that several of the names will send shockwaves through the wrestling community! Might someone new show up this week on ACE?

Also happy to break the news that this week’s challenger for the TCW Television title will be none other than Benny Benson! You read it here first! A full preview for tomorrow night's show will be available on TotalWrestling.com later this evening.

That does it for this Monday's edition of Just the Facts, you can check us out every week on Monday mornings for all the TCW news fit to print!

What comes next doesn't look to be any tamer as we have a rematch from last week, and the teams start off by going to war outside the ring before the bell even rings! A wild brawl all around the ringside area ensues before the match finally begins in the ring, but it doesn't last long before spilling out into the ringside area again before going out into the arena among the fans. Referee Charles Hapstander tries to get things back in the ring, but is eventually left no choice but to count both teams out as they continue to brawl into the backstage area.</p><p> <strong>DOUBLE COUNT OUT</strong> (10:26)</p><p> <strong><span style="font-size:8px;">MATCH RATING: 71</span></strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>THE BRAWL CONTINUES</strong></span></p><p> </p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">As the teams make their way backstage, the rest of the Sinner Society is lying in wait to assault The Mighty. While Eddie Peak goes on a sadistic rant, Floyd Goldworthy directs traffic for Nick Booth and The Behemoths to destroy Mighty Mo and Tana. The beating finally comes to an end when Killer Shark and Titan double powerbomb Mighty Mo on top of a fallen Tana.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:8px;"><strong>BRAWL RATING: 60</strong></span></div><p></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>RELICS OF THE PAST</strong></span></p><p> </p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">Jay Chord is seen backstage sitting in a darkened room near a candle. He cuts a promo, interspersed with footage of great moments in TCW history, in particular the accomplishments of his father and those of Sammy Bach, talking about how people dwell on the success of the past-- but not him. To him, the past is nothing but a crutch for people who can't face the reality of the present and the inevitability of the future. One by one, the relics of the past will fall as he marches towards his destiny.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:8px;"><strong>PROMO RATING: 85</strong></span></div><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="52332" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">JAY CHORD</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">VERSUS</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">DANNY FONZARELLI</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Fonzarelli shines in the beginning, using his size to his advantage and hitting all of his signature spots before Chord turns the tides. JUST THE FACTS by Jason Azaria

TOTALWRESTLING.COM UPDATE - JANUARY 15, 2020

We are one week closer to Malice in Wonderland 2020, and today we're going to start off by taking a peak at how the card is shaping up following a chaotic edition of Total Wrestling on ACE!

First thing's first, we found out on the first Total Wrestling of the year that TCW World Champion Aaron Andrews accepted the challenge of King of Kings winner Wolf Hawkins. Now, in the fallout of last week's six-man tag match, I can confirm that The Elite will also be taking on Devine Fortune. Hawkins and Andrews have been on a collision course for months, but this tag team tussle is a new development.

Also coming out of last week, following a time limit draw in the TCW Television Title match, a rematch has been signed for Malice in Wonderland between champion Greg Gauge and challenger Benny Benson.

In other TCW title news, TCW management believes they've found a solution to the problems that have been raging between The Behemoths and The Mighty: a street fight! After the shenanigans on our New Year's edition of Total Wrestling and a wild double countout this past week, the titles will be on the lines with no holds barred at Malice in Wonderland!

Now, that's how Malice in Wonderland is shaping up, but how about this week's Total Wrestling? Well, in addition to Joshua Taylor vs One Man Army, as Taylor revealed on commentary last week, our main event will be The Alpha Wolf, Wolf Hawkins taking on a man who has been having troubles with Jay Chord as of late-- the Rock God, Sammy Bach!

We'll also see a rematch from last week as fan favorite Bart Biggins gets another crack at hot newcomer "The Hitman" Ernest Youngman!

All of this and more to come, stay tuned to TotalWrestling.com for a full card announcement coming this evening!

That does it for this Monday's edition of Just the Facts, you can check us out every week on Monday mornings for all the TCW news fit to print!

TCW presents Total Wrestling

January, Week 3, 2020 - LIVE from The V. Thompson Arena (Los Angeles, CA)

Announce Team: Shawn Doakes, Kyle Rhodes, and Jasmine Saunders

Attendance: 8,963 - TV Rating: 3.36

Show Rating: 78

THE SYNDICATE GLOATS

We kickoff with the music of the TCW World Champion, Aaron Andrews, who enters the arena with the title around his waist and his head held high after taking the pinfall in the main event last week. He admits defeat in the six-man tag, but he’s willing to bet that Hawkins can’t do it again at Malice in Wonderland.

That brings out Wolf Hawkins and The Syndicate, gloating about their win last week and the fact the Hawkins pinned Andrews for that win. They are all decked out in Italian suits, except, of course, for Chris Flynn in his leather jacket and they talk amongst themselves beneath the entrance video screen while making fun of Andrews.

The Ace tells them they can laugh all they want, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s standing in the ring with the TCW World title in his possession. Hawkins replies that it’s only a matter of time before he fulfills his destiny and The Alpha Wolf sits at the head of the pack once again

SEGMENT RATING: 95

"THE HITMAN"

ERNEST YOUNGMAN

VERSUS

BART BIGGINS

This match plays out much the same as their encounter last week, though with a few more hope spots for Biggins. In the end, the result is the same, and Biggins falls once again to The Hit.

WINNER: “THE HITMAN” ERNEST YOUNGMAN (8:08)

MATCH RATING: 49

A SURPRISING DEBUT

As we come back from break, Flying Jimmy Foxx comes tumbling out of the entryway and is soon followed by Greg Gauge and Freddy Huggins. Huggins and Gauge are in the middle of an assault, and Foxx looks to have an injured arm! The beatdown continues for a moment before Benny Benson comes charging out of the back to save his partner. He’s a house of fire for a moment before Laura Catherine Huggins distracts him long enough for Gauge to blindside him and gain the upperhand. Then, a low rumble begins in the crowd, and soon hometown favorite Frankie Perez hops the guardrail and charges the ring to make the save. The Buzzsaw clears house before standing tall with Benson and an obviously hurting Jimmy Foxx.

SEGMENT RATING: 56

DOC HAMMOND

VERSUS

HUMAN ARSENAL

The pair have a competitive TV match before Hammond claims the win.

WINNER: DOC HAMMOND (12:25)

MATCH RATING: 65

THE SINNERS’ SERMON WITH EDDIE PEAK

We come back from break to find Eddie Peak standing in the ring at a makeshift pulpit with the rest of The Sinner Society surrounding the ring. Peak doles out compliments to his “disciple” Nick Booth before turning his attention to the “sinfully delightful” actions of The Behemoths in regards to their feud with The Mighty. At Malice in Wonderland, The Mighty will step into their world and Wonderland will become Sodom and Gamorah. Bless the Sinners.

SEGMENT RATING: 64

THE MIGHTY

(MIGHTY MO & TANA THE MIGHTY)

VERSUS

THE ELITE

(EDDIE CHANDLER & NATE JOHNSON)

A pretty standard tag team affair with The Elite isolating Tana the Mighty for most of the match, and working an arm on Mighty Mo whenever he is in the ring. In the end, The Elite are no match for The Mighty and the tag team title challengers pick up a win as we head into Malice in Wonderland.

WINNERS: THE MIGHTY (9:35)

To the surprise of no one, The Behemoths rush the ring following their upcoming opponents’ win. Despite just going through a match, The Mighty are ready for them this time and they fight fire with fire, brawling all over the ringside area and heading to the back as we go to commercial.

MATCH RATING: 65

POST-MATCH RATING: 65

The announcers inform us that Frankie Perez will be taking Flying Jimmy Foxx's place in tonight's tag team match.

JOSHUA TAYLORVERSUS

ONE MAN ARMY

These men went at it like they had something to prove, Taylor needing to rebound from his loss at Psycho Circus and the One Man Army looking to keep building momentum towards his next goal in TCW. Most of the match saw Taylor looking to wear down the One Man Army so he can clamp on the Butterfly Lock while Army remained a half-step ahead. The finish saw Taylor play dead for Army to set-up the Guided Missile before moving out of the way and cinching in the Butterfly Lock for the submission win.

WINNER: JOSHUA TAYLOR (14:20)

MATCH RATING: 70

THE ROCK GOD SPEAKS

Sammy Bach hypes tonight's main event against Wolf Hawkins, claiming his World Tour's next stop is Main Event Town and that when he dispatches of The Alpha Wolf, he's going to ride the gravy train all the way to a TCW World Title shot.

SEGMENT RATING: 71

GREG GAUGE & FREDDY HUGGINS

VERSUS

BENNY BENSON & FRANKIE PEREZ

The crowd was nearly as hot for this match as just about anything else on the card so far, which is good news for TCW newcomer Frankie Perez. Everyone did work to make sure Perez got over in the match. He wasn't directly involved in the finish, however, which saw Benny Benson pin Freddy Huggins following a Shockwave From Next Year.

WINNERS: BENNY BENSON & FRANKIE PEREZ

MATCH RATING: 65

JAY CHORD VS SAMMY BACH HYPE VIDEO

A short music video was shown, hyping the upcoming Malice in Wonderland match between Jay Chord and Sammy Bach. Despite the well-done production, the live crowd hated sitting through a video instead of having action in front of them.

SEGMENT RATING: 53

WOLF HAWKINS

VERSUS

SAMMY BACH

While it was far from the first TCW meeting between these two, the crowd stayed with them from start-to-finish. The match came to an end when Hawkins hit the Full Moon Rising for the pinfall.

WINNER: WOLF HAWKINS (17:44)

Following the match, Jay Chord appears and assaults Sammy Bach to end the show.

MATCH RATING: 71

POST-MATCH RATING: 87

============

AUTHOR'S NOTES

Note to self: no more music videos.

-

Frankie Perez’s debut went over well, I took better care to debut him to a familiar audience than I did with Youngman.

-

Jay Chord continues to kill it whenever he's in front of the audience.

-

I think Malice in Wonderland is shaping up pretty well, I just need to make sure I lay the matches out properly to maximize the show rating.

-

I plan for the match write-ups, if not the entire presentation, to be a bit more grandiose for the PPV shows.

WRESTLING.INFO REPORT - BREAKING NEWS!

Frankie Perez wasn't the only indie sensation making his debut on Total Wrestling this evening. Live reports indicate that former COTT Tag Team Champions The American Cobras competed in a dark match, having a competitive but losing encounter with Devine Fortune before the show began.

Word is that the Cobras are the first of many new teams coming into TCW, as parent company BriCo is looking to heavily push tag team two-packs for Christmas this year, with the idea being that teams will be established by then to move the desired amount of units. With the addition of Storm Spillane and Marvel Malloy, the TCW tag team division now consists of Tag Team Champions The Behemoths, The Mighty, The American Cobras and The Elite with the teams of Chance Fortune & Daryl Devine and Benny Benson & Flying Jimmy Foxx making occasional appearances in the division.

TCW presents Total Wrestling

Tuesday, Week 4, January 2020 - LIVE from Louisiana Auditorium (New Orleans, LA)

Announce Team: Shawn Doakes, Kyle Rhodes, and Jasmine Saunders

Attendance: 8,008 - TV Rating: 3.08

Show Rating: 75

WAVE OF THE FUTURE?

Jay Chord and Greg Gauge start the show off by hyping their main event tag match against Sammy Bach and newcomer Frankie Perez. Gauge taunts Benson for taking the week off to train, telling him it still won’t be enough to come out on top at Malice in Wonderland. Jay Chord says there’s no stopping him from fulfilling his destiny, not even if you’re a Rock God.

SEGMENT RATING: 77

"THE HITMAN"

ERNEST YOUNGMAN

VERSUS

DEAN DANIELS

The Hitman continues his momentum after debuting, making relatively light work of the veteran Dean Daniels.

WINNER: “THE HITMAN” ERNEST YOUNGMAN (7:31)

MATCH RATING: 49

THE SINNERS’ SERMON WITH EDDIE PEAK

Eddie Peak is at his pulpit once again, prophesying the destruction wrought on TCW at Malice in Wonderland when there are no holds barred, no disqualifications, and no countouts between his monstrous duo of Killer Shark and Titan, The Behemoths, and their opponents The Mighty. Blessed are the SInners.

SEGMENT RATING: 72

THE BEHEMOTHS

(KILLER SHARK & TITAN)

VERSUS

TWO UNFORTUNATE SOULS

(HENRY BENNETT & DAVE WALLACE)

Jobbers go squash. Pure domination.

WINNERS: THE BEHEMOTHS (4:06)

SEGMENT RATING: 33

DAZZLING DAVE DIAMOND

VERSUS

SHOCKING MATT HOCKING

These two were a house on fire, and the crowd was into it for what it was: a wild brawl between brawlers. In the end, Diamond picked up the win with the Dazzle Driver.

WINNER: DAZZLING DAVE DIAMOND (6:04)

MATCH RATING: 60

SISTERLY LOVE

Laura Catherine Huggins is here once again to remind us of how great her brother is, and how none of us are deserving of his greatness.

PROMO RATING: 62

FREDDY HUGGINS

VERSUS

CHANCE FORTUNE

In this “championship implication” match, Huggins and Fortune put in a good effort for TV before Huggins picked up another win with the Huggins Kiss.

WINNER: FREDDY HUGGINS (10:57)

MATCH RATING: 65

THE DOCTOR IS IN

Doc Hammond cuts a promo backstage about his match with DaRryl Devine, but clearly struggles without any of his Syndicate brethren to play off of during the segment.

PROMO RATING: 52

DARRYL DEVIN

VERSUS

DOC HAMMOND

Doc Hammond wins in a match that was clearly meant to showcase the winning ways of The Syndicate.

WINNER: FREDDY HUGGINS (9:50)

MATCH RATING: 58

JOSHUA TAYLOR

VERSUS

HUMAN ARSENAL

Joshua Taylor puts in another great TV match, showing why he had earned a TCW World Title match at Psycho Circus 2019 in the first place. Human Arsenal shined in this one as well, and looked to take it several times throughout the match including during a hot closing segment that included a couple of near-finishes before Taylor cinched in the Butterfly Lock in the center of the ring to secure the submission win.

WINNER: JOSHUA TAYLOR (14:24)

MATCH RATING: 70

CONTRACT SIGNING FOR MALICE IN WONDERLAND

Wolf Hawkins enters the arena first, sans the rest of The Syndicate and takes a moment on his own to call Andrews’ TCW World Title win over him at Summer Showdown 2019 a fluke. That brings out the TCW World Champion Aaron Andrews, who calmly takes his seat and signs his portion of the contract before picking up a microphone and stating, “On Sunday, I guess we’ll see.” He then gets up and walks away as Hawkins screams at him to come back, that he isn’t finished talking but The Ace just waves goodbye and heads backstage. The Alpha Wolf signs his portion of the contract in a rage, screaming, “I’ll end you on Sunday, Andrews!”

PROMO RATING: 86

BENSON PROMO FROM TRAINING CENTER

Benny Benson cuts a promo on his upcoming TCW TV Title match match with champion Greg Gauge, stating he wishes he could be there this week to stand by Sammy Bach but he’s sure that The Buzzsaw is gonna do just fine in his first nationally televised main event. But, come this Sunday, fun-loving Benny isn’t coming to the Dust Bowl Fields; no one is gonna have a good time at Malice in Wonderland, but the afterparty will be sweet because he’ll be holding the gold.

PROMO RATING: 56

GREG GAUGE & JAY CHORD

VERSUS

SAMMY BACH & FRANKIE PEREZ

By far the match of the evening, although Frankie Perez looked a bit weak with all of the other heavily talented and more well-known men in the ring. His in-ring performance didn’t suffer too badly, though, as he kept pace with everyone well and showcased a few spots he did last week to start getting them over with the audience. The crowd was hottest for Jay Chord, going nuts for anything he did in the ring and he excelled at milking them for all they worth. The finish saw Sammy Bach pin Greg Gauge while Frankie Perez brawled with Jay Chord on the outside.

WINNERS: SAMMY BACH & FRANKIE PEREZ (12:42)

MATCH RATING: 73

WRESTLING.INFO NEWS REPORT

Starting in February, USPW will begin airing a second weekly series called USPW UnderGround! on Reverie. The show will air head-to-head with TCW presents Total Wrestling on ACE, while C.A.N.N. has announced that SWF Supreme TV will shift into a late night time slot but indicated that the company's more adult nature was the deciding factor rather than a desire to not lose some sort of ratings war.

Word has it that USPW is planning to put Alicia Strong in their main event that night, as well as heavily feature their new heel stable The Frat House. For TCW it will be the first edition of their weekly show follow PPV Malice in Wonderland.

In other news, following up on an earlier report concerning TCW's signing of The American Cobras to bolster their tag team division, there is talk of internally of a new team debuting soon based on recent trademark filings. BriCo and Total Championship Wrestling recently filed paperwork for "The Dogs of War," but there's no word on who the team may comprise that team. There is currently no team competing on the indies with that name, nor does it seem to be an indicator that anyone is on their way up from MAW.

In other news, TCW is said to be irritated that none of their developmental talents were featured in the recent Rip Chord Invitational tournament. There are currently nine talents working with Mid Atlantic Wrestling through developmental deals with TCW. While it isn't expected to cause any waves in their working agreement, it was said to ruffle some feathers.

MALICE IN WONDERLAND CARD PREVIEW

TOTALWRESTLING.COM UPDATE - SATURDAY, WEEK 4, JANUARY 2020

Malice in Wonderland is LIVE this Sunday night!

TCW WORLD TITLE MATCH

AARON ANDREWS © VS WOLF HAWKINS

The Ace takes on The Alpha Wolf in their first meeting since Summer Showdown in July 2019, when Aaron Andrews claimed his third TCW World Championship in a victory over Wolf Hawkins. Ever since Hawkins won the King of Kings tournament in November, these two have been set to meet at an unknown future date-- that date becomes this Sunday at Malice in Wonderland!

TCW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH

GREG GAUGE © VS BENNY BENSON

After their time limit draw a few weeks ago, Greg Gauge has been irate with fan favorite Benny Benson. The pair met once in tag team action, and the result convinced Benson he needed to take time off to focus on training for his rematch at Malice in Wonderland. While the TCW Television Championship has been defended exclusively on ACE in 15-minute time limit matches to this point, our card on Sunday will feature a special 20-minute minute time limit defense on pay-per-view.

TCW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

THE BEHEMOTHS © VS THE MIGHTY

These two teams have had numerous battles over the last several weeks, but this Sunday at Malice in Wonderland they go to war! Normal rules have not been able to contain them, so this weekend they meet in a Street Fight! The Dust Bowl Fields have seen some legendary tag team wars go down in the past, this Sunday looks to be no different.

JAY CHORD VS SAMMY BACH

Jay Chord has been talking about his “destiny” for some time in TCW, and lately he seems to believe his destiny is to rid TCW of all of their fan favorites-- most of all, The Rock God Sammy Bach. After trading attacks all month, they’ll finally meet in the ring at Malice in Wonderland!

THE ELITE VS DEVINE FORTUNE

Coming out of a recent six-man tag team main event on Total Wrestling, The Syndicate’s Eddie Chandler and Nate Johnson came out victorious over Devine Fortune but this Sunday the tandem get their chance for revenge!

JOSHUA TAYLOR VS FRANKIE PEREZ

Joshua Taylor claimed his loss to Aaron Andrews was nothing more than a hiccup, and thus far he’s proven that to be correct. Will he come out on top when he meets popular TCW newcomer The Buzzsaw Frankie Perez?

FREDDY HUGGINS VS HUMAN ARSENAL

Freddy Huggins came out on top over Chance Fortune in a “championship implication” match, but can he do the same against Human Arsenal?

ERNEST YOUNGMAN VS DAZZLING DAVE DIAMOND

The Hitman has been on a roll since arriving in TCW, but can Dazzling Dave Diamond stop him at Malice in Wonderland?

TCW WORLD TITLE MATCH: AARON ANDREWS © VS WOLF HAWKINS

I'm an absolute mark for Aaron so I will pick him to win every single match, even if it doesn't fit the story

TCW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH: GREG GAUGE © VS BENNY BENSON

I don't feel Benny needs the belt over Greg Gauge

TCW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: THE BEHEMOTHS © VS THE MIGHTY

I have The Mighty winning, but I'm not certain at all with this one, I can really see this one going either way

JAY CHORD VS SAMMY BACH

I'm predicting this show to have a lot of younger stars to be built tonight, so I think Jay will take this one

THE ELITE VS DEVINE FORTUNE

I'm totally on the fence for this match, while I think Devine Fortune have a better chance to win, I can't go against my boys from CGC

JOSHUA TAYLOR VS FRANKIE PEREZ

Despite me thinking that stars will be built tonight, I think the pop gap between Taylor and Perez is too great for Josh to lose. And even though he's losing, being in a good match with a top star may give Frankie Perez the pop boost he needs

FREDDY HUGGINS VS HUMAN ARSENAL

I just don't feel that the storyline makes since for Human Arsenal to win this matchup

ERNEST YOUNGMAN VS DAZZLING DAVE DIAMOND

Picking Ernest for the same reason I picked Jay Chord, I feel younger talents are going to be picking up some form of victories tonight
