TEW 2020: executable file issue

Hello all,

I'm a new member on this forum, so I apologise if this issue has been resolved previously. I was unable to find a solution for it.

 

I recently purchased TEW 2020 and found that when I run the software, my McAfee AntiVirus software removes the executable for some reason. I turned off the antivirus software, since the Windows Defender software did not have any problems with it. After opening, I received a message saying that I should download the latest version of the executable (v 1.26) from the technical forum. I saw a file here: http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=547178

 

However, when I replace this executable with the existing one, I receive a warning from the Windows Defender, mentioning that the publisher is unknown. I just want to confirm that this link is correct.

The link is correct, you're ok to install the patch.

 

To correct the McAfee issue, access your virus checker and set an exception for TEW2020.exe. The game is not a virus, the checker is mistaken. [For McAfee, the following video explains how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9kKd2M0TQQ]

 

You should also set an exception for c:\windows\runservice.exe (which is the eLicense service)

Dang, wish I had seen this thread a lot sooner. Been having this problem myself. Thankfully, I think I have it resolved now, thanks to this forum. Good to see I wasn't the only one having this issue.
