Thanks for the predictions and comments and the Fabulous Fun Fan Sign! I tried to keep things as close to the original show as possible, which is one reason why I have the Sting/Flair and the Big Bubba/Hulk Hogan matches.

Love the fan sign. I have the perfect place to put it in the show. This is definitely a great time period to pick things up. I have plans to make things a little different than the way they were back in the real September 1995. It should be very interesting, at least in my head.

WCW presents...

WCW MONDAY NITRO!

Match #1: WCW United States Title Match

Sting© defends vs. 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair

The very first WCW Monday Nitro begins with a match inside the ring because one of those W's stands for wrestling. Two of the top veterans in the world of professional wrestling go one on one for the WCW United States title. These two men have great chemistry in the ring and it shows in the match. Sting dominates the early going, hitting Ric Flair with moves like a press slam and then a leap over the top rope with a cross body to the outside of the ring. Back inside the ring, Sting goes for the Stinger Splash but Flair moves and Sting hits his knee in the corner. This miss sets up Flair for the advantage and a focus on that knee in Ric Flair style. The match and title looks like it might go to Flair when he manages to lock on The Figure Four Leglock with Sting in the center of the ring. Flair uses the ropes for leverage one too many times and gets caught by the referee, forcing a break of the hold. Flair and referee Nick Patrick get into a shoving match that leads to Sting rolling up Flair for a two count. The crowd gets Sting back into the match and Sting takes down Flair with a big body slam in the center of the ring before grabbing that hurt knee. He Irish whips Flair into a corner and Flair flips up and over to the apron. Flair runs along the apron but is taken down with a clothesline by Sting. Sting drags Flair back in the ring and moves him into a corner, climbing up and raining down ten punches on The Nature Boy! Sting drops down and Flair puts up his dukes for about five seconds before falling face first on the mat. Sting waits for Flair to pull himself up in a corner before hitting the Stinger Splash! A moment later, Sting locks the Scorpion Deathlock on The Nature Boy and Flair has no choice but to submit at the 10:42 mark.

Sting d. Ric Flair =83

Horsemen Reunion Halted

The bell sounds but before Sting can release the hold, he is struck from behind with a tire iron to the back of the head by Arn Anderson! Double A has entered the ring and has had some issues with Ric Flair but on this first WCW Monday Nitro he has struck Sting from behind. Flair slowly pulls himself up and puts his hands up to ward off Anderson. After a moment, Anderson offers a handshake with four fingers. The two men shake hands and Flair smiles, stomping on Sting! He grabs the legs to lock on another Figure Four but someone else comes running in from the back. It's Brian Pillman! Flyin' Brian leaps to the top rope and hits Air Pillman on both Flair and Anderson! A pair of dropkicks sends them scurrying outside the ring. Pillman checks on Sting and helps him to his feet. Brian Pillman and the WCW United States Champion Sting stand side by side in the ring with Ric Flair and Arn Anderson staring at them from ringside.

War Games No More?

We move to the announce booth where announcers Eric Bischoff and Bobby Heenan are shown.

Eric Bischoff: "Bobby, it's time to welcome everyone to the very first edition of WCW Monday Nitro! Of course, I'm Eric Bischoff and this is my broadcast colleague Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan. Bobby, are you as excited as I am to be here in Duluth, Minnesota for this show?"

Bobby Heenan: "Are you kidding me? It's the only reason I would even come to Duluth. You know that the smartest person in this town only made it to the second grade, right?"

Eric Bischoff: "You know that's not true, Bobby. But what we also know is that we have a major announcement to make this evening. The decision was made by the WCW Championship Committee that the former War Games match set for Fall Brawl will no longer take place. Instead, we will see the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan defend his title against The Giant. But that's not all. You want to take the next part, Brain?"

Bobby Heenan: "I still say it's not fair but we learned that if The Giant loses that match, The Dungeon Of Doom must disband. However, I don't think that The Taskmaster has any concerns because who can beat a man the size of The Giant?"

Eric Bischoff: "Hulk Hogan is the only man that I can think of. But talking about The Giant, he is in action in his in-ring debut next on this first edition of Monday Nitro! Let's head to the ring for that contest."

Match #2

The Giant vs. 'Jumping' Joey Maggs

Back in the ring, The Taskmaster escorts out The Giant to take on the veteran in Jumping Joey Maggs. There is a huge difference between the two when they go about face to chest in the center of the ring. Maggs tries a dropkick early but it doesn't phase The Giant. There seems to be nothing Maggs can do to even move the larger athlete. The Giant finally stops playing around and brings down Maggs with a headbutt. He sends Maggs to the ropes and drops him with a big boot. A few moments later, The Giant wraps his hand around the throat of Joey Maggs, lifting him up and dropping him with a Choke Slam! The Giant places his foot on the chest of Maggs and the referee makes the three count at 1:42.

The Giant p. Joey Maggs =56

Did Hogan Make A Mistake?

The Taskmaster enters the ring to celebrate the victory with The Giant. They are joined in the ring by Gene Okerlund, who has a microphone. Take it away, Mean Gene!

Gene Okerlund: "Hello Duluth! Gene Okerlund here alongside The Taskmaster and the number one contender to the WCW World Heavyweight title, The Giant! Kevin Sullivan, The Giant made short work of Joey Maggs tonight but his big match has been scheduled for Fall Brawl at the end of the month when he takes on Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight title. What plans do you have for that match?"

The Taskmaster: "Gene Okerlund, take a good look at the man standing here between us. This is the world's tallest athlete. He's a freak of nature. The only plan we need when it comes to Hulk Hogan is to decide what to put on the tombstone of HulkaMania. This man, The Giant, is going to do what I have been trying to do for a long time: he is going to force Hulk Hogan to retire. Hulk, look down at the title belt around your waist and enjoy it because at the end of the month this man is going to take the belt from you and there's nothing you can do to stop him."

The Giant roars.

Gene Okerlund: "Thank you, Kevin Sullivan. We'll be back soon right here on WCW Monday Nitro!"

Macho Madness Monday

Following the commercial break, we are taken to a pre-taped promo by Randy Savage!

Randy Savage: "OH YEAH! The Macho Man is here for the very first WCW Monday Nitro! Tonight, it will be The Macho Man stepping in the ring against Mr. Wonderful. Paula, you and I have been around a long time, yeah. But the difference between the two of us is that I've gotten better with age while you have aged like milk. It's gonna be wild! It's gonna be crazy! Macho Madness is going to show up right here tonight on the very first WCW Monday Nitro! And the Macho Man is going to take over the show. OH YEAH! DIG IT!"

Match #3

'The Shooter' Dean Malenko vs. 'The Mysterious' Mr. JL

Unlike the opening contest, the two wrestlers in this match have bad chemistry in the ring and it shows in several botched moves throughout the contest. In the early goings of the match, the masked JL uses his speed to his advantage. He stays away from Dean Malenko until Malenko reverses a flying headscissors attempt into a power bomb. Malenko picks up JL and brings him over with a belly to back suplex. Malenko keeps JL on the mat with several mat-based moves, including locking on a rear chinlock. JL works his way to his feet but Malenko shifts around and catches JL with a gutbuster. Within moments, Malenko twists JL into the Texas Cloverleaf and JL has no choice but to submit at 5:11.

Dean Malenko d. Mr. JL =46

Big Surprise Part 1

Following the victory by Dean Malenko, the cameras begin panning around the crowd as Eric Bischoff and Bobby Heenan discuss the things that have already happened on Nitro so far. The camera suddenly stops and zooms in on someone walking through the crowd. The man is known to wrestling fans as the former Razor Ramon in the WWF. The man leaps the guardrail and grabs a microphone before entering the ring and standing in the center.

Known Man: "Hey yo! You people. You know who I am. But you don't know why I'm here. Where is Billionaire Ted? Where is that WCW Franchise Stung, I mean, Sting? He's in the back getting medical assistance after a little lump on his head. Those people who do know me know that I go wherever I want, whenever I want. And where oh where is Scheme Gene? I got a scoop for you. Hey Ken Doll, I know you're listening right now. I've got a big surprise coming for you next week. You wanna go to war? You want a war? You've got one."

The man looks around as security begins filling the ringside area. He is compliant, though, exiting the ring and being escorted to the back as Bischoff and Heenan wonder just how he got here.

The Road Warrior

Once the area is cleared, Gene Okerlund walks out and steps onto the ramp along the entranceway.

Gene Okerlund: "Hello ladies and gentlemen! Mean Gene Okerlund here. Make sure to call the WCW Hotline to get all the updates following this episode of WCW Monday Nitro! We have already had several surprises on this first night and I am sure we will have more. They will all be talked about on the WCW Hotline! Now, to my special guest, at this time. He is a former WCW World Tag Team Champion now striking out on his own. Please welcome Road Warrior Hawk!"

The crowd cheers as Road Warrior Hawk comes out from the back. He looks around for a moment before turning his attention to Gene-o.

Gene Okerlund: "Hawk, thank you for taking the time to join me this evening. We have learned that Kursawa has made his way back to Japan. With that being said, what are your plans as we move into the Monday Nitro era of World Championship Wrestling?"

Road Warrior Hawk: "Well! That Kentucky Fried Colonel has sent his prized stallion back to Japan. That means that both of those bozos are in my rear view mirror. Now it's time for me to look toward the future. The future means a big surprise that is coming next week. You will not know that surprise until it happens in one week but I can tell you that it is a great surprise."

Gene Okerlund: "Can you tell me something, Hawk? Something that can go on the hotline?"

Road Warrior Hawk: "Because it's you, Mean Gene, I will give you a hint. That hint is that beginning next week I will once again snack on danger and dine on death. Ohhh WHAT A RUSH!"

Road Warrior Hawk's music plays once again as Gene-o sends us up to the ring for our next match.

Match #4

'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff vs. 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage

Two veterans square off in the ring in this match as Mr. Wonderful takes on The Macho Man. After a hot start by Randy Savage, Paul Orndorff takes over with a rake of the eyes. Orndorff slows things down, focusing on the neck of Savage. A brainbuster by Orndorff draws a two count. The crowd members here in Minnesota are strongly behind Savage and begin clapping their hands as Orndorff locks on a rear chinlock. Savage fights his way to his feet and strikes with two elbows to the gut, breaking the hold. Savage bounces off the ropes and a double clothesline has both men down. As referee Randy Anderson begins the count, Kamala comes down to ringside. The Ugandan Giant climbs on the apron, getting the attention of the referee. Both Orndorff and Savage get to their feet and Orndorff throws Savage into the referee, knocking him down. Orndorff grabs Savage by the arms as Kamala enters the ring. Kamala beats his belly and then rushes but Savage ducks and Kamala strikes Orndorff with a vicious forearm shot. Kamala looks shocked and Savage grabs him, tossing him over the top rope. Savage heads to the top turnbuckle and leaps, connecting with the Flying Elbow Drop! Savage wakes up the referee and then makes the cover: One, Two, Three at 6:45!

Randy Savage p. Paul Orndorff =75

HulkaMania at PastaMania

With the crowd cheering on the victory by Randy Savage, we are brought to a pre-taped video that takes place inside the Mall Of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. It starts with a focus on a line in front of the brand new PastaMania restaurant in the food court. The cameras turn and zoom in on a table with Tony Schiavone and Hulk Hogan! Before the interview gets started, a fan walks up to Hogan with a sign reading: 'WHAT YA GONNA DO WHEN PASTAMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU?!' He asks for an autograph and Hogan autographs the sign before the fan returns to the PastaMania line.

Tony Schiavone: "Wrestling fans, we are here at the Mall Of America in Bloomington, Minnesota for the opening of PastaMania! I'm Tony Schiavone and I'm here with the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan. Hulk, congratulations on opening the new restaurant."

Hulk Hogan: "Well, let me tell you something, brother. PastaMania is here to stay in the Mall Of America, dude. Take a look at that line filled with all those Hulkamaniacs here in Minnesota. These are all people that know to say their prayers, eat their vitamins and train each and every day, brother. That's what it takes to become the top of the ladder and become the WCW World Heavyweight Champion."

Tony Schiavone: "Speaking of that title, you have two big matches coming up against members of The Dungeon Of Doom. Tonight on WCW Monday Nitro, you face off with Big Bubba Rogers and then at Fall Brawl you take on The Giant. Your thoughts as we move closer to those matches?"

Hulk Hogan: "Well, you know something, Tony, first things first and that is Big Bubba Rogers tonight. I know that Minnesota is filled with the power of Hulkamania, dude. There are all these Hulkamaniacs filling each and every arena. They are the ones that will give me the advantage over Big Bubba Rogers tonight. Bubba, you and I have gone up and down the road together, brother, but tonight is just another night where the power of Hulkamania will run over another wrestler. Then we have that big, stinky, smelly Giant. Giant, if that is your real name, brother, our match is going to be the finish of The Dungeon Of Doom sticking their nose in my business. When I beat you one on one, dude, all of the Hulkamaniacs are going to destroy that Dungeon until there is nothing left. Bubba, Giant, you're going to have to ask yourself one question. That question is whatcha gonna do when the power of Hulkamania and all these Hulkamaniacs runs wild over you?!?!"

Tony Schiavone: "Thank you, Hulk. PastaMania is running wild! But, now, let's go back to Duluth, Minnesota and Eric and Bobby!"

*MAIN EVENT*

Match #5: Non Title Match

Big Bubba Rogers vs. 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan

It is main event time and American Made brings out the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan! This main event match was awkward from the start as both men showed zero chemistry with the other. But the match must go on and it did with Hogan getting a brief advantage in the beginning before he missed an early Legdrop when Rogers rolled out of the way. This gave Big Bubba the strong advantage which he took during the middle portion of the contest. At one point, Bubba was choking Hogan on the middle rope to a four count by the referee. Then he bounced off the ropes and baseball slid underneath the bottom rope. He gave Hogan an uppercut and then slid back in, making a pinfall and hooking the leg: One, Two, Kickout! Big Bubba got up quickly and pulled up Hogan, bringing him back in a corner and catching him with an avalanche. Bubba sends Hogan to the ropes and drops him with the Big Bubba Slam! Bubba makes the cover in the center of the ring: One, Two, HUGE Kickout that sends Bubba flying across the ring!

Eric Bischoff: "Hulk is Hulking Up, Bobby! He's got the fans in here chanting his name."

Bobby Heenan: "No, no, no! I hate when this happens!"

Hulk Hogan gets to his knees and takes some punches from Big Bubba Rogers. He shakes them off and moves to his feet. He walks around the ring before pointing toward Rogers and then waggling his finger! Bubba moves in and throws another punch, blocked! Hogan fires back three straight punches, knocking Bubba back to the ropes. Hulk grabs Bubba by the wrist and sends him across the ring before firing off a big boot! The Immortal one cups his ear to the fans before bouncing off the ropes and dropping the big legdrop! Hulk makes the cover: One, Two, Three! Hulk Hogan gets the win at 10:44.

Hulk Hogan p. Big Bubba Rogers =71

Big Surprise Part 2

It's celebration time for the WCW World Heavyweight Champion! Hulk Hogan is given the title belt by Jimmy Hart, who enters the ring. Hart joins Hogan for the celebration, though, there is no chemistry between the two. As Hulk celebrates, a sign goes up in the background that reads: 'HOGAN IS WEARING HALF A WIG!' Bobby Heenan, on commentary, chuckles as that sign appears on the show. It looks like the celebration might end the show. Instead, we go to a pan of the crowd where we see someone moving through the crowd and toward the ring. That person is none other than the Total Package Lex Luger! Everyone wants to be on the first episode of WCW Monday Nitro! Luger pauses by a sign that reads: 'WWF. WORST WRESTLING FEDERATION.' He actually autographs the sign before continuing through the crowd. Luger jumps the guardrail and slides into the ring, going face to face with Hulk Hogan. Luger asks for and receives a microphone.

Lex Luger: "First of all, it's good to be back here in WCW where the big boys play. I've grown tired of playing kids games up north so I've come to face the fiercest competition in the world. That competition is right here in WCW. That competition is right here in front of me, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan. Hulk, I have a proposition to make to you. I know you have a title defense at Fall Brawl against The Giant. I'm going to make my bet that you're going to walk away with the victory in the match. So I am challenging you to a World title match next month at Halloween Havoc. What do you say?"

Hulk Hogan paces around with the crowd telling him to agree to the match. They seem to really want this match!

Hulk Hogan: "Well, let me tell YOU something, brother. We all know who you are, Lex. It's good to have you here in WCW because we want the best wrestlers here. I also want to face the best wrestlers, brother. So I don't need to think about your challenge. I accept it. You and me at Halloween Havoc for the WCW World Heavyweight title. Just shake my hand and it will be official."

Hulk puts his hand out there and Lex doesn't hesitate in shaking that hand. The two men raise each other's arms and stand side by side in the middle of the ring. We're out of time here on WCW Monday Nitro! We'll see you this Saturday for WCW Saturday Night!

Oooo, the nWo is happening early then! Interesting.

Something like the nWo is definitely happening early. Will it be the same as what happened in the real world? Maybe. But if I said something, there'd be no reason to tune in. ;)

Thank you for reading, though, and, especially, for commenting. One of the reasons I post here is to get feedback. Very interested in reading thoughts on the formatting and all.

Thanks for the predictions and comments. The Shark is definitely an interesting matchup for Luger. Both men are power wrestlers. Which power will pick up the victory?

I had forgotten that about the Zodiac, honestly. I looked it up after you posted. That is absolutely crazy. Definitely BS.

Thank you for the predictions and comments. The Shark is definitely an awful gimmick but it is fitting inside the Dungeon of Doom, after all. It is a grouping of bad gimmicks.

I plan on and hope for Sabu to last longer than he did in real life. He definitely brings something different to the ahem table.

Thank you for your comments on the formatting. I understand that most diaries have pictures but the less pictures makes the formatting a little easier. I hope that the lack of visuals is made up for in the full presentation of the diary.

Speaking of which, I am hoping to have the next Monday Nitro show up tomorrow barring some rt situations. Thank you to everyone for reading so far.

Monday, Week 2, September 1995

Live from The Dahlberg Arena, Missoula, MT...

Broadcast via TNT at Prime Time...

WCW presents...

WCW MONDAY NITRO!

Pay The Piper!

Following the opening video, WCW Monday Nitro opens inside the Dahlberg Arena at the University of Montana! 7,022 fans are in attendance for this second ever Monday Nitro. The crowd here erupts as the sound of bagpipes begins to play. Eight bagpipers step out from the back lining up the entrance ramp with four on each side. Then we have the arrival and the WCW return of none other than the Hot Rod Roddy Piper! The crowd erupts louder as The Rowdy Scot steps toward the ring and then up the stairs and inside. He has a big smile on his face and a microphone in hand.

Roddy Piper: "Thanks everyone. Thank you very much. I guess my invitation for last week got lost in the mail, huh? Well, the Hot Rod has arrived and now this is truly the place where the big boys play. You know, I've got a rap sheet longer than my arm and you fans still cheer for me? Thank you so much for that. After talking with the higher-ups, I can tell each and every one of you that next week two wrestlers will be going into the Pit With Piper. Those two men are the Jolly Green Giant and the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan. Hulk, I remember another time where you were in the Pit with a giant. But you both need to remember that just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions!"

A pause is all that is needed at this moment for someone else's music to begin to play. Piper has been interrupted by the arrival of V.K. Wallstreet! In the background, a sign goes up that reads: 'RAW. Really Awful Wrestling.' Wallstreet walks to the ring and steps inside with Piper giving him a look.

Roddy Piper: "I think you got lost there, Mr. Wallstreet. This is my ring. This is the Hot Rod's ring. You're stepping in the Pit with Piper, Captain."

V.K. Wallstreet: "Your ring? Listen here you cross-eyed halfwit. Do you know who you're talking to? I am V.K. Wallstreet, the greatest wrestler to come out of Syracuse University. You're just some idiot in a skirt. You're some guy in a skirt that doesn't know when to quit. But you're going to learn when to quit when V.K. Wallstreet is finished with you because V.K. Wallstreet is a real player."

Roddy Piper: "You think you're a tough guy, huh? I say you prove it. At Fall Brawl, you and me one on one. I can promise you that, in my ring, I will put you to sleep. You have to remember that what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger and I'm feeling mighty powerful."

In answer to the challenge, Wallstreet tries to sucker punch Roddy but Piper blocks and then pokes Wallstreet in the eye. Piper sends Wallstreet over the top rope with a clothesline and then celebrates in the ring alone before exiting and heading for the back.

Match #1

The Shark vs. 'The Total Package' Lex Luger

Our opening matchup is a match of power against power as The Shark along with The Taskmaster takes on Lex Luger in Luger's return match here on Nitro. Luger starts the match strong, colliding with The Shark several times and finally taking him down with a big clothesline. Luger pulls The Shark back up and goes to whip him into the turnbuckles but The Shark blocks it and sends Luger into the corner instead. The Shark runs in and catches Luger with an avalanche in the corner. The Shark takes control both inside and outside the ring, including sending Luger into the ring post. Back in the ring, The Shark goes for a running seated senton but Luger rolls out of the way and The Shark collapses on the mat. The crowd gets behind The Total Package and Luger pulls himself up using the ropes. He catches The Shark with several clotheslines and then hits him with a powerslam! Luger calls for the Human Torture Rack! Can he even get The Shark up? Luger lifts The Shark to his feet and starts to lift The Shark but he gets grabbed around the throat by an interfering Giant! The referee immediately calls for the bell at 7:43.

Lex Luger d. The Shark =72

The Fight Continues

The bell has sounded but the action has not stopped in the ring. The Giant uses one hand to choke Lex Luger. The Shark drops to the mat and strikes Luger from behind. The Giant releases Luger just so that The Shark can pick him up and drop him with a body slam! The Giant calls for the Choke Slam but here comes Hulk Hogan! The WCW World Heavyweight Champion rushes into the ring with a chair, striking The Shark and knocking him out of the ring. Hogan turns his attention to The Giant but The Taskmaster steps between them. The Taskmaster grabs The Giant and pulls him back and out of the ring. Hogan helps Luger to his feet and the two men go face to face. Hogan drops the chair and Luger smirks, patting Hogan on the shoulder before exiting the ring.

Mystery Backstage Attack

With that, we go backstage where we find The Mouth of the South Jimmy Hart laid out! He is bloody and battered and barely awake as officials check on him. He doesn't seem to know what happened or who attacked him. Hulk Hogan shows up, looking down at his manager.

Hulk Hogan: "What happened, Jimmy?"

The man known as The Mouth of the South cannot even talk at this point. Hogan helps him up and escorts him toward an ambulance in the back. Hogan helps Jimmy Hart into the ambulance and then climbs in with the two of them headed to a local medical facility. That being done, we head to the ring for our next match.

Match #2

'The Arabian Nightmare' Sabu vs. 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright

This match marks the WCW Monday Nitro debut of the daredevil high flyer 'The Arabian Nightmare' Sabu. He is joined at ringside by wrestling legend The Sheik. This was a rather short match that was mostly dominated by the debuting Sabu. Sabu gets Wright outside the ring and then drags a chair inside the ring. He sets up the chair and then bounces off the ropes, using the chair like a step stool to the top rope. He gets his balance and then catches Wright with a cross body outside the ring! A sign shows up in the background that reads: 'SA-BOO!' Referee Mickey Jay tosses the chair out of the ring as Sabu brings Das Wunderkind back in. Sabu hits a fallaway slam and then heads to the top turnbuckle. He leaps with a somersault legdrop! The move known as the Arabian Facebuster when used in conjection with a chair. There's no chair this time but Sabu gets the cover: One, Two, Three! Sabu picks up the win at 3:07.

Sabu p. Alex Wright =43

Road Warrior Surprise

Once the ring is cleared, 'Iron Man' begins to play and here comes Road Warrior Hawk! Hawk has his spiked shoulderpads on as he stomps down to the ring. He climbs the stairs and steps inside, asking for a microphone.

Road Warrior Hawk: "Well! Last week, I came out here and promised a surprise this week on WCW Monday Nitro. I am nothing if not a man of my word. So without further..."

Ric Flair: "Shut up! It's time for you to shut up while you're standing in the ring that belongs to Ric Flair and Arn Anderson."

Ric Flair and Arn Anderson walk out from the back and walk directly into the ring. Flair gets on one side of Hawk and Anderson stands on the other side.

Ric Flair: "Take a good look in this ring, Hawk. There's two of us and only one of you. That means you need to stand there and listen to the Nature Boy and The Enforcer. Whooo. We can't help the fact that we are the two best wrestlers in the business. We were born to be the best because we were born to be Horsemen. The Four Horsemen will always be the..."

Road Warrior Hawk: "Well, Ric! You can talk about being the best and I don't mean to cut you off here but we still have a surprise to go. Let's take a look at what that surprise is."

'Iron Man' begins to play again and out from the back comes long-time Road Warrior Manager Paul Ellering! Ellering has the Wall Street Journal in hand before he points to the back and here comes Road Warrior Animal! The Road Warriors are reunited! Animal and Paul join Hawk in the ring and they move to one corner opposite of Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. Ric and Arn huddle together in the corner for a moment before Arn steps forward with a microphone in hand.

Arn Anderson: "Ric, you were right about the Horsemen being the best. I have a little bit of history when it comes to tag teams, though. I can say that these two men right here are one of the best tag teams in the history of professional wrestling. That means that they deserve to be Horsemen."

Arn Anderson offers his hand across to Hawk! The crowd boos, trying to get the Road Warriors not to listen. Hawk accepts the handshake and then raises four fingers! Paul Ellering raises four fingers! Animal raises four fingers! Ric Flair struts across the ring and the four men embrace in the center of the ring before raising their arms. We have a new Four Horsemen group and they might be the most dangerous group yet! The five men exit the ring together and head for the back. Just how in the world did this get set up? Was this the surprise that Hawk was really talking about?

Match #3

Zodiac vs. 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage

Our third match of the evening features Zodiac, along with The Taskmaster, against The Macho Man Randy Savage! The match features some back and forth in the first minute before Savage takes control for the rest of the match itself. With control, Savage catches Zodiac with an inverted atomic drop and then a clothesline. He waits for Zodiac to get to his feet and rushes him with a high knee to the back. Savage points toward a sign that reads: 'MACHO MAN > NACHO MAN!' The Macho Man plants Zodiac with a body slam and then heads to the top turnbuckle. He raises his arms and then leaps, connecting with the Flying Elbow Drop! Savage makes the cover: One, Two, Three! The three count comes only 3:38 into the match.

Randy Savage p. Zodiac =71

Flyin' Fighter

The camera cuts to the ramp where Gene Okerlund is standing by. Take it away, Mean Gene!

Gene Okerlund: "Thanks Eric, Brain. Mean Gene here to remind you to call our WCW Hotline! It's only $5.99 the first minute and .99 each additional minute. You'll get all the latest updates on the action here in WCW. Speaking of action, let's welcome down my guest at this time. He is a former NFL player and current WCW wrestler, 'Flyin' Brian Pillman!"

The crowd cheers as Brian Pillman comes out from the back. Flyin' Brian high fives some fans in the front row before joining Gene-o and adjusting the tie of Gene Okerlund.

Gene Okerlund: "Thanks, Brian. We all saw earlier that your opponent tonight, Ric Flair, has reformed the Four Horsemen with Arn Anderson, The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering. Momentum seems to be on his side. Can we get your thoughts going into that battle tonight?"

Brian Pillman: "Gene, we've both been around this wrestling business for many years, right? We both know that Ric Flair is going to take whatever shortcuts he can get away with in this match. He is the dirtest player in the game, after all. He proved that earlier tonight when Sting got attacked backstage."

Gene Okerlund: "Sting was attacked backstage?"

Brian Pillman: "Yeah, he says he doesn't know who did it but I have a strong suspicion that the newly formed Horsemen have something to do with it. That means that I go into this match with Ric Flair tonight looking for revenge for my friend, Sting. RIc, tonight, you're going to get a crash course in the value of friendship when I take you downtown."

Gene Okerlund: "Thank you, Brian. Now, let's head up to the ring to see our WCW World Tag Team Champions in action."

Match #4: Non Title Match

Bunkhouse Buck and 'Dirty' Dick Slater vs. The Armstrong Brothers

In action are the two members of the Stud Stable with Col. Robert Parker at ringside as they face off against Steve and Scott Armstrong. The Armstrongs start things quickly but they are soon taken over by Dick Slater, who carries the match. Scott gets isolated in the corner of Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater. They use frequent tags in and out to keep a fresh man in. When they have Scott outside the ring, Buck chokes him in front of a fan with a sign that reads: 'HARLEM HEAT MELTED MY OTHER SIGN!' The match ends when Dick Slater catches Scott Armstrong with a Leaping Piledriver in the center of the ring. Dick makes the cover as Bunkhouse Buck rushes over and knocks Steve Armstrong off the apron. The referee drops down to make the count: One, Two, Three. The three count comes at 5:27.

Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater p. The Armstrong Brothers =33

Diamond Or Coal?

From the ring, we move to a pre-taped promo with the WCW World Television Champion The Renegade. He looks into the camera with the title belt around his waist.

The Renegade: "Diamond Dallas Page, you dared to issue a challenge to The Renegade for my World Television title? You are a giant fool and I will prove that to you this Saturday on WCW Saturday Night. I have been programmed to destroy any and all victims that step into my path. When you get in my way, you will be terminated by the toughest man in World Championship Wrestling. I will take you from a diamond to dust. I will free that Diamond Doll from you and you will be left alone with nothing to hold. You will be destroyed!"

The Renegade snarls and yells, waving his arms in the air. He turns and slams a fist into a wall before we head back to the ring for our main event.

*MAIN EVENT*

Match #5

'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair vs. 'Flyin' Brian Pillman

This contest is definitely a contrast of styles as the technically sound Ric Flair goes up against the high flyer in Brian Pillman. The pace of the first few minutes is dictated by the high flying Brian Pillman. That means a quicker pace where Pillman catches Flair with an early Tornado DDT. Upon landing, Flair's foot falls on the bottom rope so when Pillman makes the cover there's not even a one count by senior official Nick Patrick. Flair quickly rolls out of the ring and here comes Arn Anderson down to ringside. Flair and Anderson have a conference before Flair comes back in the ring. Ric immediately rakes the eyes of Brian and then backs him in the corner, lacing his chest with chops. When Pillman staggers free from the corner, Flair immediately hits a chop block. The next few minutes are spent with Flair working on the knee of Pillman. This attack includes Flair ramming the knee on the ring post. Back in the ring, Flair goes for the Figure Four but Pillman pulls him into a small package: One, Two, Thr--Kickout! Both men get to their feet and a double clothesline sends them both down to the mat. As the referee checks on Pillman, Arn Anderson slides a pair of brass knuckles on the hand of The Nature Boy! Flair backs into a corner, hiding the brass knuckles from view. Pillman slowly pulls himself up and moves toward Flair -- WHAM! Flair strikes with a punch to the head with the knucks! Pillman drops like a sack of concrete. Flair rolls him up, placing his feet on the ropes: One, Two, Thre -- Shoulder Up!

Eric Bischoff: "Bobby, how in the world did Flyin Brian kick out of that?"

Bobby Heenan: "I don't know! That was a slow count! That wasn't fair to Flair!"

Ric Flair gets up and begins arguing with referee Nick Patrick. The two men begin getting into a shoving contest where Nick actually shoves Ric to the mat! Ric pops back up and then drops face first on the mat. During this time, Brian Pillman manages to pull himself up to his feet. Pillman grabs Flair by the arm and sends him toward a corner but Flair flips up and over the turnbuckle! He rushes along the apron and climbs up the turnbuckle but Pillman is there to meet him. Pillman punches Flair, crotching him on the top turnbuckle before climbing up and bringing Flair to the mat with a Superplex! Pillman grabs his knee in pain when they land. Pillman stands in control until he makes the mistake of rushing Flair in a corner with a running knee. Flair is pushed out of the way by The Enforcer and Pillman hits that hurt knee on the turnbuckle pad. Flair trips Pillman and immediately locks in the Figure Four. Pillman shakes his head, refusing to submit at first. But Flair just tightens the hold and Pillman finally has to submit to save his leg from being broken.

Ric Flair d. Brian Pillman =80

Horsemen Beatdown

Speaking of breaking legs, the bell sounds but Ric Flair refuses to release the Figure Four on Brian Pillman! Arn Anderson enters the ring and tosses referee Nick Patrick over the top rope to the floor. Ric finally releases the hold as Road Warriors and Paul Ellering come down to join the other two Horsemen in the ring. They each take turns stomping on Brian Pillman. Road Warrior Animal gives a double thumbs up and everyone knows what that means. Road Warrior Hawk heads to the top turnbuckle while Animal lifts Pillman in the electric chair position. Hawk leaps and catches Pillman with the Doomsday Device flying clothesline! Pillman is left laid out in the middle of the ring as Flair asks for a microphone.

Ric Flair: "WCW! Take a good look at what just happened to Brian Pillman. That is what's going to happen to every single wrestler that steps up against the Four Horsemen. You're looking at four diamonds in a promotion filled with coal. Next week, we are going to continue just the way we started tonight. Hulk Hogan, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, well, you know the old saying that to be the man, you have to beat the man. Next week, you are going to walk that aisle against not Ric Flair but against Road Warrior Animal! Whooo! Hulk, you're gonna bleed all night long and that's the bottom line."

Ric begins strutting around the ring as the Four Horsemen and Paul Ellering stand side by side. All five men raise four fingers in the center of the ring before we go up to the announce booth.

The Big Surprise

At the announce booth, of course, are Eric Bischoff and Bobby Heenan.

Eric Bischoff: "Bobby, we're going to wrap things up here and it's just like I thought: that man Hall is all talk and no action. There must not have been a big surprise."

Suddenly, Hall comes walking through the crowd and walking toward the announce booth. The Brain takes off his headset and takes off away from the scene, leaving only Eric Bischoff there at the announce booth. Eric stands to go face to face with Hall.

Eric Bischoff: "Well, I'm here, Hall. Where is your big surprise? You have done a lot of talk, now where's the walk?"

Hall points behind Eric Bischoff and Eric turns to come face to chest with the former Diesel of the World Wrestling Federation! This big surprise grabs a microphone from Bischoff.

Big Surprise: "You and everyone else around you have been sitting out here running your mouths without any repercussions. This is where the big boys play? Well, look at the adjective - play! We're not here to play. Now, he said last week that he was going to have a big surprise this week. Here I am. Now we want you to get three of those fossils you call wrestlers together to face us."

Eric Bischoff: "I don't have the authority right now and there's only two of you guys."

Big Surprise: "You let us worry about that. I'll tell you what, we will be in the building at the end of the month at Fall Brawl. You get that authority together by then and we'll see you then."

Hall: "Hey, hey big man, I say me and you, we go to Fall Brawl and maybe these fossils will want to fight."

Big Surprise: "The measuring stick has just changed around here and you're looking at them."

The Big Surprise and Hall push Eric Bischoff down in his chair and laugh as security steps in to escort them away. The show comes to an end as Eric looks in the camera shaking his head.

I double dog dare you to call Hall and Nash by their rumoured WCW names... The Bad Guy and Axle. :D

Glad you enjoy my having the Road Warriors in the Four Horsemen. Can you imagine this group back in the 80's?

As far as calling Hall and Nash by those names? Nope. And I wouldn't call Steve Austin Chilly McFreeze, either. LOL.

I'm late to the start of this but I was considering a crack at this a dynasty.

You've captured the voices and the time period nicely. Good luck. I'll be following as often as time allows.

Welcome to the diary! Better late than pregnant! But I'm glad to have you here and reading. I really appreciate you saying that I've captured the voices nicely. That is one thing that I worried over is making sure the promos fit the characters.
