~ Motty Kuroda broke his fingers when he chopped the debuting Luis Montero Jr. Montero, the eldest son of legendary luchador Luis Montero, Sr., was making his Japanese debut here after leaving OLLIE in April. Unfortunately, not only was the injury to Kuroda in this match, but Doctor Technico and Luis Montero Jr. had very poor chemistry as a team and will likely not be working as a duo moving forward.

~Frankie Perez continues to build momentum towards his singles match with Zeshin Makioka for the Destiny Championship at the Mega Slam finale.

Curious what your spending is looking like with all these gaijin factions.

The Mega Explosion Tour was the first tour I lost money -- because of all of the gaijin factions being used at once. I didn't think about all of their travel expenses at first so I lost about $5000 on the month. Thankfully, I've been making money every month and with the TV deal on Shogun, I'm gaining extra revenue from all of that, so hopefully we can make it back over the next few tours.

Lets go Samoan Impact!

Also a big fan of Samoan Impact and hopefully Doctor Tecnico finds a new tag-team partner

I really like Samoan Impact -- I like all of the guys. It made sense to me to bring in Samoan Demolition, especially once Charger Siaki became available. I have some plans that will benefit from having multiple different factions so we will see how it develops.

~In a rare treat for the faithful Matsumoto Hall audience, Motoyuki Miyake defended his Ride the Tiger Championship. It’s the first time in 2020 that a title has been defended on a tour. It was a good match that allowed Massacre, the reigning APW Commonwealth Champion, to show that he could be a legit player in singles competition.

~Pavel Vanzycha continues to pick up momentum heading into his match at the Mega Explosion Finale event for the Roll with the Dragon Championship.

Overall

~After sixty days of not wrestling, Destiny Champion Zeshin Makioka made his return to the ring in the main event. His knee was still heavily bandaged and for the most part, he didn’t get involved in the action until the climax of the match when he finally came in. For most of the match, the crowd chanted Makioka in excitement. When he hit Dreadnought with the DDT, there was an explosion of cheers and he got the pin for the win.

~Samoan Demolition came out with the APW Tag Team Titles, showing that SAISHO is going to acknowledge championships from other parts of the world. They scored a big victory over the Diamond Dogs.

~ Pavel Vanzycha scored the biggest singles win of his SAISHO carere when he forced Danjuro Kikuchi to submit to the Cross Am Breaker. With his upcoming match for the Roll with the Dragon Championship, Pavel looks to be riding a wave of momentum.

Overall

~In another tour treat, Azumamaro Shimizu made a rare title defense of the Roll with the Dragon, only the second time a title has been defended on tour this year and both as thank yous for the length of the tour. Shimizu and White Samurai put on a technical clinic in the relatively short match they had. Shimizu was able to submit Samurai to the Figure Four Necklock.

~Makioka-Gun stablemates Zeshin Makioka and Danjuro Kikuchi teamed together for the first time. Makioka let his protege do the lion's share of the work. Kikuchi was impressive but ultimately unsuccessful against the Destiny Tag Team Champions -- in non title action of course.

The Mega Explosion Tour comes to a roaring conclusion this Saturday. The Mega Explosion Tour has seen a lot of intense action and we have been building towards quite the show.

In our main event, Zeshin Makioka makes his singles-match return when he puts the Destiny Championship on the line against American Impact leader Frankie Perez. Since signing with SAISHO Frankie Perez has not suffered a singles loss. Makioka has been a fighting champion and has earned the nickname Prowling Tiger, but with his knee only officially declared 'cleared' by the SAISHO doctors, will be come into the match 100% or will Frankie Perez become the first gaijin Destiny Champion in the fourteen-year history of the Destiny Championship?

The Hurt put the Destiny Tag Team Championships on the line against The Golden Bulls. These two teams have met once before for the tag titles and The Hurt were able to successfully retain the titles in that match, but will the Europeans be able to pull off another successful title defense or will the ultra-physical Golden Bulls be able to dethrone The Hurt and bring the Destiny Tag Titles back to Golden Resurrection.

Motoyuki Miyake puts the Ride the Tiger Championship on the line against Ox Mastadon. The 400 pound Ox has been unstoppable since joining SAISHO this tour and has his eyes set on his first championship in Japan. Can Dread's protege win a singles title in Japan on his first attempt? Or will Motoyuki Miyake be able to withstand the monster?

Azumamaro Shimizu puts the Roll with the Dragon Championship on the line against Pavel Vanzycha. Pavel Vanzycha is looking for his first championship as a professional wrestler. Will he be able to get it against The Golden Dragon? Or will The Golden Dragon stay at the top of the dragon division?

Singles Match

Sixty Minute Time Limit

Destiny Championship

Challenger Frankie Perez versus 25th Champion "The Prowling Tiger" Zeshin Makioka

Comment: Frankie Perez has always been a superb talent especially in Japan with WLW. As stated Perez would be the first Gaijin champion and that's something that the man himself deserves. The All-Around Firecracker that Perez is he's got the total package and with Makioka coming back from injury it's the perfect time for Perez to capitalize and win Saisho's Top Belt.

Tag Team Match

Forty-Five Minute Time Limit

Destiny Tag Team Championship

Challengers The Golden Bulls versus 23rd Champions The Hurt

Comment: The Hurt will continue their momentum following their win over Makioka in a tag match. I don't see them losing the titles directly after such a show of excellence. The Golden Bulls will have to shorten their name to just The Bulls after tonight cause they ain't getting no gold.

Singles Match

Forty-Five Minute Time Limit

Ride the Tiger Championship

Challenger Ox Mastadon versus 17th Champion Motoyuki Miyake

Comment: Thought Mastadon might take what he's learned from Dread and take out Miyake tonight. But I'll go with Miyake cause I think Mastadon is still learning, and I can't pick all gaijins to win. Gotta have some National hope for the home country team. Plus can't be spending too much on those travel expenses :3...

Lethal Strong Brigade versus Jayson Van Pelt, Luis Montero Jr., and The Diamond Dogs

The second major event that SAISHO has aired on Shogun TV started off with a bang. Lethal Strong Brigade against a gaijin grouping of Jayson Van Pelt, Luis Montero Jr. and the Diamond Dogs. It was a competitive match up but was also done to give all of Lethal Strong Brigade an opportunity to shine. Gidayu Katou and Jayson Van Pelt had a great exchange with one another that was hard hitting and really got the crowd ready for action and then Azumamaro Kita took over and he forced Van Pelt to submit and scored a good win for the Lethal Strong Brigade.

In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Lethal Strong Brigade (Azumamaro Kita, Fujio Narahashi, Gidayu Katou and Akira Arato) defeated Jayson Van Pelt, Luis Montero Jr and The Diamond Dogs in 12:55 when Azumamaro Kita submitted Jayson Van Pelt.

KAZ versus Washi Heat

Mr. Saisho had a big singles match against veteran wrestler Washi Heat. KAZ has been clamoring for a second opportunity here in 2020 to challenge for the Destiny Championship and a win tonight coupled with his A-1 Grand Prix victory over Zeshin Makioka has KAZ in line for a title shot. This was a thrilling, hard-hitting contest from two men who, despite their skills, did not have the chemistry expected which made the bout just feel a little off. KAZ was able to get the big win with the Super Rana; however, and looks poised to challenge for the Destiny Championship soon.

In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, KAZ defeated Washi Heat in 12:38 by pinfall with a Super Rana.

Lion Genji versus White Samurai

The last non-title match of the night. Lion Genji was pinned at the last tour show by White Samurai and was looking for revenge in a singles match. Genji is still looking forward to challenging for the Destiny Championship after having beaten Zeshin Makioka in the A-1 and then having won the A-1. Genji wrestled like he had something to prove and he brought the punishment to White Samurai. Samurai held up his end of the bargain, but ultimately a Fusion Reactor for Lion Genji sealed the deal.

In a bout that had fantastic heat and great wrestling, Lion Genji defeated White Samurai in 13:13 by pinfall with a Fusion Reactor.

Big Ox Mastadon and Moyotuki Miyake were up next. The two men were competing for the Ride the Tiger Championship that Motoyuki Miyake won from Tobei Sugimura. Miyake started the match off by kicking at the tree-trunk thick legs. Ox absorbed the kicks and came through them with some very Dread inspired offense. Ox used forearms and running splashes and several big slams to immobilize Motoyuki Miyake. Ox even came off the second rope looking for a big splash, but Miyake moved out of the way. Miyake hit several more kicks and even managed to hit a T-Bone Suplex on the 400 pound Ox that was very impressive, but in the end, it was another big slam from Ox Mastadon that set up for the Ten Ton Splash and Ox Mastadon getting the big win.

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Ox Mastadon defeated Motoyuki Miyake in 10:46 by pinfall with a Ten Ton Splash. Ox Mastadon wins the SAISHO Ride The Tiger title.

Challengers The Golden Bulls versus 23rd Champions The Hurt

The Golden Bulls had their second attempt at claiming the Destiny Tag Team Championship against The Hurt. In their first contest, The Hurt were able to use a variety of arm locks to set up for Nigel Svensson’s feared Hyper Extension Arm Lock for the win and title defense. This time out, The Golden Bulls were weary of all armlocks and used their size and power advantage to control the match. They kept The Hurt off-balance and off guard with a variety of suplexes and slams and it was clear The Hurt were never able to really get comfortable throughout the match. They weren’t able to settle into their normal routine and The Golden Bulls were able to capitalize on an Ichiro Mitsukuri S.T.O. on Billy Robinson to win the Destiny Tag Team Championship.

In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, The Golden Bulls defeated The Hurt in 21:14 when Ichiro Mitsukuri pinned Billy Robinson with a S.T.O.. The Golden Bulls win the SAISHO Destiny Tag Team titles.

Challenger Frankie Perez versus 25th Champion "The Prowling Tiger" Zeshin Makioka

The main event of the evening was Zeshin Makioka’s first singles match in two months. The Destiny Champion came to the ring in a beautiful tiger cloak with the Destiny Championship around his waist. Frankie Perez came to the ring in his Killswitch attire and it was clear from just the entrances that we were about to be treated to a big fight, big time main event. Frankie Perez, the reigning CZCW Champion, came out of the gate hot. Instead of going for an opening lock up, Frankie Perez immediately launched an attack on Makioka’s only-recently-cleared knee. Makioka immediately sold his knee like his leg was going to fall off and Perez was vicious in his assault -- including slamming Makioka’s leg into the ring post several times and pulling Makioka out of the ring so he could drop him knee first onto the guard rail. Frankie Perez was going full gaijin bruiser here, despite not being the same size as Makioka. It took Makioka until the fifteen count to make it back to the ring and Perez went back for the leg. Several kicks and stomps and then a vicious Spinning Toe Hold (yes, they can be vicious). It was clear that Perez didn’t want to stand in the pocket and throw fists with Makioka, he wanted to render his left leg useless.

Makioka was able to get out of the Spinning Toe Hold and make it back to his feet. His weight was primarily balanced on his right leg. When Perez came in for another attack, Makioka caught him in the jaw with a forearm that knocked Perez loopy and allowed Makioka to take control of the contest. Makioka fought like a one-legged man. Everything he did was slow. When he suplexed Perez, it took effort for Makioka to get him up and then effort to get himself up off the mat. It was really superb storytelling from a man who is turning into quite the ace here in SAISHO. Makioka used a variety of strikes and suplexes to batte Perez and try and take Perez’s neck out of the game. Makioka got several near-falls, but Perez wouldn’t stay down.

Perez was able to counter a German Suplex and chop-blocked Makioka’s knee. Makioka crumbled and Perez was able to take control. He hit a series of shin breakers and locked in a long Figure Four Leglock that Makioka had to fight out of. Perez again took Makioka to the floor and this time dropped him knee first on the time keeper’s table -- which was on the other side of the barricade. Perez went into the ring and as soon as Makioka made it over the guardrail, Perez dove over the top rope and onto Makioka’s chest. Perez slammed Makioka’s knee into the guardrail several times. Perez drug Makioka back into the ring to finish him off. Perez locked in his famed P-Clutch, his camel-clutch variant, but Makioka fought to his feet -- with Perez still on his back and fell backwards to break the hold. Makioka stumbled back to his feet and Perez dropkicked his knee out from under him and then went for his Perfect Parity, his muscle-buster variant that if he didn’t invent he definitely popularized. Makioka looked to be dead in the water when Perez made the cover. Watanabe slid into the cover and the one and two came easily but right before Watanabe’s hand hit the mat for the three, Makioka kicked out.

The fans roared with approval at Makioka’s refusal to die. His refusal to lose. He was the Prowling Tiger and he would not give up his Destiny Championship while there was still a breath left in his body. Perez pulled Makioka up to his feet and set up for another Perfect Parity, but Makioka slipped out off the shoulders. He landed on his bad leg and almost collapsed, but showing that true fighting spirit, forced himself to stay vertical. Perez turned around and DDT! Makioka’s usual move to end matches. It only got a two count though and Makioka immediately lifted Perez and with sweat covering both of their bodies, he lifted Perez up for a powerslam but instead slammed him down to the side while sitting out. For the Shogun TV audience, this move was yelled, very enthusiastically, as the Destiny Fusion. Makioka laid on Perez for the cover and got the three.

The fans were very excited to see the result, they cheered and streamers hit the ring and Makioka-Gun was quick to hit the ring with icepacks for their leader and mentor while American Impact had ice for Perez.

In an exceptional match, Zeshin Makioka defeated Frankie Perez in 40:18 by pinfall. Zeshin Makioka makes defence number five of the SAISHO Destiny title.

After the expensive but successful Mega Explosion Tour, SAISHO CEO Mito Miwa announced that the month of June would primarily be rest time for the SAISHO roster. They would produce the Marvel Strike Tour -- three touring events and then the Marvel Strike show that would last from Sunday Week 1 to Saturday of Week 2 but then would take the rest of the month until the end of June off when the Destiny Awaits tour would kick-off and take them through July.

vpw8H1Y.jpgdGR3bRw.jpg

Marvel Strike will be headlined by a rematch from Battleground Japan when "Mr. SAISHO" KAZ challenges "The Prowling Tiger" Zeshin Makioka for the Destiny Championship. Both men were on hand and shared words regarding their upcoming title fight. KAZ was incredibly confident that after defeating Zeshin Makioka back in the A-1 Grand Prix that he would be able to duplicate his victory at Marvel Strike. Zeshin reminded KAZ that their match in the A-1 Grand Prix was marred by Zeshin's knee injury but that Zeshin's knee is fully healed and the result will not be the result from the A-1 but rather from Battleground Japan.

xhktlsS.jpgYMOJZZo.jpg

It was also announced that the Roll with the Dragon Championship would be on the line at Marvel Strike when Azumamaro Shimizu, The Golden Dragon, would defend the title against fellow GCG alumn but PGHW Dojo trained Masashi Urogataya. Urogataya was polite and cordial but said he was looking to make a splash now that he was in SAISHO. Shimizu was confident that he would continue his undefeated singles run in SAISHO and would notch his fourth successful title defense. The Golden Dragon continued on saying the Golden Resurrection was soon to get its leader, that he has been the lieutenant leading the charge until the General got here. He wouldn't answer who the General of the Golden Resurrection was but it had the press buzzing.

DXuvadh.jpg

Mito Miwa then announced that Washi Heat, White Samurai, and Taheji Konoe had all finished up their touring commitments with Pro Wrestling SAISHO. He thanked them for the matches they had and said it would continue to be a goal of his with SAISHO to feature young talent, the future of puro, but also allow a platform for veterans to come in and see if they still had it. He also announced that Big Boss Emperor and Yuta Isono would be spending the next year wrestling in Australia for Australian Pro Wrestling. He wished them well on their excursion and said that they would have a place in SAISHO when they had completed their year abroad.

Epic stuff! I felt the titanic struggle in the main event. Big fan of Makioka anyway, long may he reign. Can't wait for the rematch with KAZ

I've actually never booked Makioka until this save but he is quickly becoming one of my favorites. He's ultra-consistent and he just screams my kind of guy. He's really blossoming as champion and now that that knee is fully healthy, let's see if anyone can dethrone The Prowling Tiger himself!

~ In the tag team match between Golden Resurrection and The Hurt, Billy Robinson suffered an injury that was announced at the conclusion of the show to be a broken neck. Billy Robinson will be out for fourteen months recovering from the injury.

~The main event saw a first time pairing when Torch Nakazawa and Isoruko Arakaki paired together. Both men are members of Generation First Time and they looked incredibly impressive as a duo. Their seemed to be natural chemistry between the two, but that natural chemistry was not enough for them to defeat the surging Black Iron Corps.

~ Despite being a member of Club Miwa, Motoyuki Miyake teamed with Black Iron Corps in the main event against Golden Resurrection. Miyake clearly had a chip on his shoulder after losing the Ride the Tiger Championship to Ox Mastadon and he wrestled like it -- using a barrage of strikes and viciousness to show his anger and frustration.

The Marvel Strike tour culminates this Saturday, Week 2 of June with the Marvel Strike Finale.

In the main event, The Prowling Tiger Zeshin Makioka puts the Destiny Title on the line just two weeks after his war against Frankie Perez when he battles Mr. SAISHO KAZ in a rematch from their title match at Battleground Japan. This will be the third singles match between the two in 2020 and they are sitting at 1-1, with Makioka winning the Battleground Japan match but KAZ defeating the champion in the A-1 Grand Prix. Makioka is adamant that the reason he lost in the A-1 was the knee injury he had suffered while KAZ contests that he would have still beaten Zeshin. With both man deemed 100%[/1] by the SAISHO medical staff.

The Golden Dragon Azumamaro Shimizu will put the Roll with the Dragon Championship on the line against Masashi Urogataya. Will Orogataya be the first man to defeat Shimizu in singles action in SAISHO, or will the Golden Dragon continue to prove himself as the top dragon in the world?

Danjuro Kikuchi versus Nigel Svensson

Marvel Strike started with a technical showcase between two dragons. Danjuro Kikuchi, representing Makioka-Gun and Nigel Svensson, the leader of European Dragons, clashed. The prize? A chance to challenge for the Roll with the Dragon Championship at Destiny Awaits. The two men have met before on tour shows but never in front of the big crowd -- and this is SAISHO’s first major sell out in years with Matsumoto Hall completely filled to capacity. The two men started off slow -- trying to wake the crowd up but also tell the story of two dragons locked in combat with one another. Danjuro is known for his leg submissions and he spent the early part of the match trying to wrestle Svensson down and target the knee of the Swedish Submission Machine. Everything Danjuro did was smooth and focused on the knee while everything Svensson did was targetted towards the left shoulder and elbow -- trying to set up for an arm lock. Svensson worked a prolonged hammerlock -- which included his trademark Hammerlock Suplex. Kikuchi used a Calf Crusher to try to immobilize Svensson. It was really good, solid wrestling. In the end, Svensson’s Hyper Extension Arm Lock proved to be the difference maker and he was able to get the submission victory.

In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Nigel Svensson defeated Danjuro Kikuchi in 17:53 by submission with a Hyper Extension Arm Lock.

Arakaki & Serizawa versus Black Iron Corps

The second match of the evening was a tag team match. Arakaki and Serizawa are trying to get back into the tag title picture while Black Iron Corps also want a tag title shot. With both teams wanting the Destiny Tag Team Championship, this was a really good match between four hard hitting men. This was a strike-heavy match with all four men trying to prove that they were as tough as nails. Kita and Serizawa had an exchange of forearms that had the building rocking, each shot from the forearm echoing of the lecture hall walls that are built to carry sound. Serizawa was able to hit a Press Slam on Kita that showed why he is called MUSCLE and Narahashi hit a springboard forearm to Arakaki that turned him inside out. Arakaki, to his credit, hit a running knee on Narahashi that was equally devastating. In the end; however, it was Kita locking in the Cross Arm Breaker on Serizawa for the submission victory.

In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Black Iron Corps defeated Arakaki & Serizawa in 17:52 when Azumamaro Kita submitted MUSCLE Serizawa with a Cross Arm Breaker.

"The Lariat" Gidayu Katou versus Luis Montero Jr.

The veteran luchador and second generation grappler Luis Montero Jr. had another chance to start making a name for himself in Japan, this time across the ring from the hard-hitting, rising star, Gidayu Katou. This was a story of Montero trying to keep Katou from launching a lariat attack. Montero, a good all arounder, showcased some great lucha skills, wrestling fast paced and keeping Katou off balanced. The younger Katou was able to finally seize control after Montero went for a springboard back elbow that Katou moved out of the way of. Once in control, Katou never looked back and he slammed Montero all over the ring and used big strike after big strike to stagger the veteran and then hit the Lariat that he is becoming famous for to put the luchadore away.

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Gidayu Katou defeated Luis Montero Jr in 14:21 by pinfall with a Lariat.

American Impact [Mastadon, L. Diaz, J. Diaz, Dreadnought] versus Samoan Demolition

In a big gaijin eight man tag, all four men came to get extra physical. All four are tigers, known for hard hitting offense and not for technical savy (though Logan Diaz does possess a very mean Boston Crab). This was wild and chaotic with the four men brawling around the ring. Dreadnought and James Diaz took the brunt of the offense from the Samoan contingent while Logan and Ride the Tiger Champion Ox Mastadon spent a lot of time on the apron. The big four hundred pound Ox had some good shine moments but he was kept out of the match mostly and it was Logan Diaz who hit several big suplexes, including the Belly to Belly on Charger Siaki for the win.

In a decent match, American Impact (Logan Diaz, Ox Mastadon, James Diaz and Dreadnought) defeated Samoan Impact (Massacre, Charger Siaki, Brisbane Devil and King Malietoa) in 18:57 when Logan Diaz pinned Charger Siaki with a Belly To Belly Suplex. Dreadnought was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance.

Challenger Masashi Urogataya versus 1st Champion "The Golden Dragon" Azumamaro Shimizu

The semi final match pit Azumamaro Shimizu against a man he knows quite well, Masashi Urogataya. For three years, the two men were both full time members of the GCG roster and met several times, with Urogataya coming out the better in each contest. It was clear their familiarity with each other right from the beginning of the contest with the way they seemed to be one step ahead of the other with their counter wrestling -- and it was their counter wrestling that was thrilling. Shimizu tried to lock in a cravat but Urogataya dipped out of it and spun into a rear waist lock that was then countered by Shimizu. That back and forth action lasted the whole match with each man struggling to lock in holds or keep the holds on for long. These were two dragons who were masters of their craft and they sold the story of that. There were not a lot of strikes in this -- just a handful of chops, as the two men were content to try to prove which one was the better wrestler. Shimizu was able to hit a cravat suplex after several attempts to lock in the cravat. Urogataya was able to hit a Backdrop Suplex -- but not his trademark Jumbo version and the crowd was on the edge of their seat. The show had been building to these two title matches and this was really the first time a dragon match was being contested with such technical precision. Urogataya went for another Backdrop Suplex, but Shimizu countered by reversing the waistlock and hit a German Suplex that he immediately followed up with a Figure Four Necklock. Urogataya tried to get out of it, but he was unsuccessful and was forced to submit and give Shimizu his fourth straight defense of the Roll with the Dragon Championship.

In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Azumamaro Shimizu defeated Masashi Urogataya in 19:44 by submission with a Figure Four Necklock. Azumamaro Shimizu makes defence number four of the SAISHO Roll with the Dragon title.

Challenger "Mr. SAISHO" KAZ versus 25th Champion "The Prowling Tiger" Zeshin Makioka

The main event of the evening was up next. The Destiny Championship on the line. KAZ versus Zeshin Makioka in a highly anticipated rematch. The two men have met twice this year so far. The first time at Battleground Japan when Zeshin Makioka logged his second defense of the Destiny Championship in almost thirty minutes of action. The second time was on the sixth day of the A-1 Grand Prix tour back in March when KAZ was able to defeat Zeshin in 15 minutes of action. They have also met in five multi man matches going into this contest with KAZ’s team actually coming out the better in three of those contests and going to a draw in two of them. It has been quite the rivalry here in the first half of 2020 and really dates back to when Zeshin first came to SAISHO and won the A-1 Grand Prix and was unable to defeat KAZ in a previous challenge for the Destiny Championship. This was personal between the two men. KAZ is what people think of when they think of SAISHO. Zeshin wants to be that Ace. He wants to be the man that people think of and to do so, he needs a statement victory. Even though he has been Destiny Champion since September of 2019, he has not been the face of the company. Next month, KAZ celebrates his fourteenth year with SAISHO and winning tonight would make KAZ a seven-time Destiny Champion and be his twelfth championship in SAISHO period.

The contest started out slow. Neither man wanted to make a mistake and Zeshin didn’t want a repeat of what happened two weeks ago against Frankie Perez so he kept his left knee back, away from the very effective grappler that KAZ is. Like in their Battleground Japan match, Makioka used his size advantage to back KAZ into a corner and launch strikes into the midsection. When Watanabe called for the break, Makioka gave him a clean one. The early portion of the match continued this trend. Makioka brought the physicality and the size against KAZ while KAZ tried to wrestle away from Makioka. Makioka hit several big knee strikes followed by a series of forearms and even a big headbutt -- the flurry sent KAZ stumbling to the ring apron. Makioka followed him to the apron and hit a big release German Suplex onto the apron that left KAZ in a heap on the floor.

KAZ was able to get back in the ring and Makioka went to come back on the attack, but this time KAZ was ready -- and even though he had been dropped on his neck on the apron, KAZ dove at Makioka’s left knee and drove his forearm into it. KAZ is not known for being an elite striker, but he is a very effective technician and flyer. KAZ went t work on Makioka’s knee with several successive dragon screws. He drapped Makioka’s leg over the bottom rope and came off the second rope for a double stomp right on the left knee. The whole tone of the match changed with KAZ in control. Now it was the champion’s turn to be in full-blown sell mode. Makioka tried to protect his knee, but KAZ stayed after it. KAZ hit several shin-breaker versions of the atomic drop and much like Frankie Perez did two weeks ago, worked the Spinning Toe Hold to put extra torque on the knee. Makioka wouldn’t surrender and he kept fighting back to his feet but it was clear his left leg was damaged and the 100% he claimed may have been a self-preserving lie. KAZ hit a Brainbuster and then climbed to the top rope. He came off for a Moonsault, but Makioka got his legs up -- this turned out to be a double-edged sword. It prevented KAZ from landing the moonsault but it also did even more damage to Makioka’s knee.

Makioka rolled to the outside -- not to run away but to be able to stand up. His left leg seemed like it was shot and he couldn’t put any weight on it. KAZ got back to his feet. He hit the ropes and came back across. He lept over the top rope and flipped for a beautiful plancha right onto Makioka, spilling both men to the floor. KAZ was back on his feet and he went to the guard rail. He jumped on it and then moonsaulted off of it back onto Zeshin who was lying prone on the floor. The people were really invested now as the two elite warriors were settling into a high-level contest. Watanabe was being very generous with his count, giving both men a lot of room to be outside of the ring and was being very liberal with the count. KAZ lifted the bigger Makioka up and set him stomach first on the apron but so that Makioka’s torso was hanging off of it. Kaz climbed on the apron and then the second rope and came off with both of his knees to the spine of Makioka. Makioka rolled into the ring, clutching his midsection in agony and now KAZ had another part of the body to target. He had taken out the leg and now he was working on Makioka’s midsection, trying to keep him from getting all of his air.

KAZ hit a sidewalk backbreaker and then slingshot sentoned Makioka for a near fall. Once again, Makioka showed that he would not die. He fought back to his one good leg and started letting off a series of forearms that staggered KAZ and then Makioka hit a roaring elbow that collided with so much force KAZ went down. Makioka roared like the Prowling Tiger he is supposed to be and pulled KAZ up. Without putting weight on his left leg, Makioka hit a Back Suplex that landed KAZ right on his neck -- the second big neck-drop style suplex that Makioka has used this match. Makioka’s offense was slow now but powerful and eerily reminiscent of the Royal Road style that PGHW used for years and has been transitioning away from. In fact, the whole show has been far more Royal Road than Wrestling as Sport in terms of the viciousness of the slams and suplexes.

Makioka hit several more suplexes and got near falls after each one. KAZ wouldn’t die either. The crowd was electric at this point. Every suplex from Makioka was another near fall and another second or half-second away from the title defense, but KAZ was Mr. SAISHO, KAZ had built his name here and the three hundred fans in Mastsumoto Hall knew him as one of theirs. KAZ flipped out of a suplex attempt, dropkicked Makioka’s knee. Makioka dropped to one knee immediately and KAZ hit a step up enzugari. KAZ dragged Makioka to the corner and set uim up on the top rope. Could it be? Yes! Super Rana! KAZ went for the cover and Watanabe was right there.

Zeshin Makioka somehow found the strength to kick out of KAZ’s home run move. KAZ got back to his feet and pulled Makioka up to his. KAZ hooked both of Makioka’s arms into a Full Nelson… Wait a minute… KAZ snaps back with a high back bridge, driving Makioka down onto his neck and the top of his head. Amphora Clutch Suplex '05, one of Mito Miwa’s trademark moves and something that one Miwa many a contest. KAZ immediately went for the cover.

Once again, Zeshin Makioka kicked out and KAZ was in disbelief. He was so close he could taste it. He could feel the Destiny Championship coming back to him for the seventh time. KAZ pulled Makioka back to his feet. Makioka didn’t look all there when KAZ pulled his elbow pad off and tossed it to the crowd. KAZ started smacking his elbow, the same way Mito Miwa used to. He’s not thinking? Is he? KAZ raises his elbow and starts to spin, he launches his arm towards Makioka’s temple for the Pride Bomber, but Makioka ducks under it. KAZ’s momentum makes him spin once more and when he is once again facing Makioka, DDT! Makioka doesn’t go for the cover; however, he immediately pulls KAZ up and lifts him up. It’s hard for him, his knee almost buckles, but he manages to hold him in the powerslam long enough to swing him down into the Destiny Fusion that he debuted against Frankie Perez. Makioka made the cover.

Makioka had done it. He had defeated KAZ in an epic struggle and earned his sixth straight defense of the Destiny Championship. As Makioka-Gun and Club Miwa both rolled in with bags of ice for their leaders, suddenly there is the roar of a lion over the public address system and the lights go out. When the lights return.

Mabuchi Furusawa! The son of Hanshiro Furusaw and former BCG World Champion is here in SAISHO. Standing behind him is the rest of Golden Resurrection. Furusawa shocked the world just a few days ago when he quit BCG and now he’s here in SAISHO!?! He says nothing and does nothing, he just looks at the ring. Finally, he nods and Resurrection retreats backstage.

Makioka is back to his feet at this point and he hoists the Destiny Championship high above his head and the streamers start flying. Furusawa is here, but Makioka is still Destiny Champion and that’s what matters!

In an exceptional match, Zeshin Makioka defeated KAZ in 45:45 by pinfall with the Destiny Fusion. Zeshin Makioka makes defence number six of the SAISHO Destiny title.
