Auto Booker Question

Recommended Posts

I'm new to the game and am playing as an owner with two brands, each running 2 tv shows per week and 1 event per month. I'd like to be more big picture (signing talent, managing finances, etc.) and not so much into every detail of booking. I would like to set up things like tag teams, stables and big storylines, but not have to do much after that. Is this possible by using auto-booker? If so, how do I set that up?

Yes you can

This is how I have been playing lately.

1. Use the notepad to list your active wrestlers. Do this by searching in your roster for wrestler type, and sort by main event first, then star, etc etc. Make sure everyone has debuted. Then split each of these sub lists among your brands. Besides managers, I don't put non wrestlers on brands.

2. Make 1v1 up to 1vx4 storylines based on your brand drafts. Tag teams too. Size of roster might encourage more singles than multi man feuds, but I prefer to have more. Because of how it seems the game works, sometimes I'll put a stable into a storyline together and make sure members are in tag teams. Should help auto match them up more often.

3. Start storylines. I do this at a ppv usually; manually set up the matches based on the notepad/ storyline list, with every roster member in a match, and get titles set therein. I'll then use auto to plug in some angles, scrolling down on the popularity bar of it runs out of options and I want more. When I have all segments entered, I'll run the auto booker to sort the card. I'll pull segments out of pre show if they're better than that or have time to spare.

4. In regular shows thereafter, you should be able to use auto and it will kinda mostly keep feuds going. You may want to edit your titles to never be defended on TV, or rarely, or just keep an eye on matches with your champions. You can use auto then create battle royals etc manual if you want to use more of your roster per show. Sometimes it won't vibe with your vision. You can clear your bookings and run again until you get a base you like. If you click auto a few times, you'll get some extra segments squeezed in.

5. Forgot to mention that your product will also dictate auto booking. Things like match length, match types, etc etc. If you use mods, sometimes auto likes to do all be and panties matches or some such. Save lots while fine tuning.

6. You may want to turn off things like crowd management in the settings if you don't want more strict and demanding booking.

3 and 6 are indeed good suggestions. You should be in charge of the creation at least. Otherwise, what are you doing in that position. I'm also more "bigger picture" like you but if booking an E org this obivously means setting those up as they are the ticket to the main event.

Does anyone know whether autobooker is essentially the same way the AI books? Or is it different code? I assume it should be the same, as why set the player up with better/worse coding then the AI? But I'm not sure.

But I meant if the engine could work differently for AI. It does seem to work the same way if you look at segments. A bit silly of me to thing there would be two methods/algorithms but it is possible. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

It was somewhere in one of these threads, maybe the gameplay or small questions thread.</p>

I can't stress enough to edit your default matches if you plan on using the auto-booker!! I usually change this to 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and that will prevent you from getting a whole show with bra and panties matches. Then check your matches before you run it. If you feel one needs to be a cage match or other, it is not hard to change it to your preferences. Don't forget to add road agent notes if you want something specific to happen or a certain winner. I usually book PPVs myself and let the auto do my TV. However, I will delete and/or add segments after I get a show I'm happy with. Don't forget you can clear the whole thing and try the auto-booker again. Also, if you leave the show booked and run auto-booker again, it will add more segments if possible. Not sure on the criteria it uses to match up who fights who, but I've found storylines will help nudge it in the direction you want.

What do we have to change to influence the amount of matches the Auto Booker spits out? Would be nice if the variables were all made public..

That is based on your match ratios in your product. If you go to your product screen, depending on what your product is, it will say your fans will expect X% matches and X% angles for TV, and a similar, usually higher, number for events.
