August 1995 is the last time anyone remembered Vince McMahon with a smile on his face, at least for a while. In September, his rival launched a competing wrestling TV program and stole one of his star talents from right under his nose. The future "genetic jackhammer" faces something he hasn't faced in his career: real competition.

 

A short and sweet introduction. I thought it was fitting to begin this thread on "Day 1". We'll kick things off on  Monday January 3.

While I can't promise a Bob Holly push, I hope to provide something that's fun to follow. I thought it'd be great to give an overview of what is going on in the WWF before I get started with taking over the existing storylines. SummerSlam has just ended where we saw Diesel defeat King Mabel, but that main event wasn't the highlight of the show. WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion Shawn Michaels battled Razor Ramon in a rematch to their WrestleMania X ladder match. They did not disappoint.<br><br>In the undercard, Barry Horiwitz continues to ride his winning streak with a pinfall victory over Skip. The life-long underdog is beginning to show he can pick up a victory now with his new found confidence.<br><br>The Undertaker's feud with the Million Dollar Corporation came to an end at SummerSlam when he defeated "The Supreme Fighting Machine" Kama in a casket match. What's next for The Undertaker? Only time will tell.<br><br>Finally, Bret "The Hitman" Hart battled Jerry "The King" Lawler's personal dentist, Dr. Isaac Yankem, DDS. As Hart was gaining the upper hand, Lawler interfered causing a disqualification. The match ended with Hart's head twisted in the ropes while Lawler and Yankem pulled on his legs to choke him. This feud is far from over.<br><br>The main event and undercard is on fire and ready for competition. How will things play out moving forward? Stay tuned.</div></div></div>

Tatanka keeps the offense going for a bit before The Undertaker is able to get the upper hand. Tatanka irish whips The Undertaker, Taker attempts a running clothesline but Tatanka ducks. On the rebound Tatanka uses The Undertaker's momentum against him and connects with an End of the Trail samoan drop!<br><br>1...<br>2...<br><br>The Undertaker kicks out. Tatanka begins to express some frustration with Ted DiBiase, who directs Tatanka to keep on The Undertaker. Tatanka picks up The Undertaker, hits a few chops, then sends him for an irish whip again. He again uses The Undertaker's momentum to lift him on his shoulders for another End of the Trail, but The Undertaker slides off! As soon as Tatanka turns around, The Undertaker wraps his hand around his throat and delivers a Chokeslam! It's academic form here, as they say. <strong>The Undertaker</strong> delivers a Tombstone Piledriver at 15:03 to pick up the pinfall victory.</span><br><br><img src="https://wwfontew.com/images/people/The%20Undertaker.jpg" style="-webkit-user-select: none; margin: auto; background-color: hsl(0, 0%, 90%); transition: background-color 300ms;"><br><span class="angle">After his victory, The Undertaker drops to one knee in the middle of the ring and reaches out for the urn, held out by Paul Bearer in the corner, as the lights go down and the purple spotlight shines on The Undertaker.<br><br>As the segment fades, we transition into Doc Hendrix, once again backstage. As LaFitte gains his balance, he staggers over to the middle of the ropes and Hart comes at him with a running clothesline, sending LaFitte over the top rope and to the floor! While hart appears to have the match well in hand, it's not long before LaFitte takes control on the outside of the ring, slamming Hart ribs first into the metal guardrail. With Hart down on the mats outside of the ring, LaFitte comes running across the ring apron and hit's a summersault cannonball on Hart!<br><br>Back in the ring, Hart is favoring his rips badly as LaFitte continues to work on his back. With Hart still down, he heads to the top rope and connects with a Cannonball Senton!<br><br>1...<br>2...<br><br>Hart kicks out just before the three count much to the delight of the fans in attendance. LaFitte picks up Hart with frustration and slams him on the mat with a bodyslam. he then heads to the top rope again, but exhaustion is setting in and he took too long. Hart stops LaFitte's momentum with a few punches to the side of the head. Hart climbs the turnbuckle and connects with a Superplex from the top rope! Hart is slow to get up, but faster than LaFitte as he is able to apply the Sharpshooter! Cornette and Mr. Fuji</span><br><span class="match">A reluctant Owen Hart kicks the match off with Shawn Michaels. The two put on a back and forth clinic of reversals before stopping, much to the applause of the audience until Hart tags in Yokozuna. Diesel and Michaels look at each other, when Michaels motions he's got this and will stay in. Big mistake. Yokozuna immediately kicks Michaels to the mat. As Michales gets up and stumbles to a neutral corner, Yokozuna lays in shot after shot to him. While this beatdown continues, Yokozuna then backs off and charges at Michaels, but misses the splash in the corner. This allows Michaels to crawl over and tag Diesel. Diesel lays in punch after punch, rocking the head of Yokozuna. Yokozuna is staggering as Diesel hits the far ropes and connects with a running big boot that sends Yokozuna out of the ring and to the floor. James E. Cornette, Mr. Fuji and Hart all go check on Yokozuna and regroup before Yokozuna re-enters the ring and tags in Hart.<br><br>Both teams exchange offense until Michaels goes for a Flying Dropkick, but is caught by Hart and put in the Sharpshooter! Michaels is trying to reach the rope, but Hart drags him into the middle of the ring and locks the move in even tighter. With his arm in the air already celebrating victory, Diesel enters the ring and takes Hart down with a forearm to the back! This prompts Yokozuna to come into the ring and now all four men are in the ring and it's chaos!<br><br>With all four men in the ring, Diesel and Michaels begin to get the upper hand. As Diesel knocks Yokozuna out of the ring, The British Bulldog comes down to the ring and attempts to get into the ring to attack Diesel as Cornette gets on the apron across the ring. Diesel drops Bulldog before he even gets off the apron, while the referee is trying to get Cornette down. Michaels punches Cornette and he drops to the apron like a sack of potatoes. As the referee is trying to help Cornette off the apron, Michaels takes Cornette's tennis racket and hits Hart in the back! Then, Diesel kicks Hart in the stomach and drops him with a Jackknife Powerbomb!
