Very awesome mod, I hope to download it soon.

I mean to ask though, I thought of making a fighting game mod but does this pretty much cover the bases?

There's definitely a good bit of fighting-game stuff featured in the mod, a decent chunk more in my version than in the version that Crayon left off on when he last updated it a long, long time ago. Mostly in terms of workers - in terms of promotions, there's a couple of Street Fighter promotions, a general promotion in Europe that features characters from several fighting game franchises, and there's a little bit of that FG influence in a couple other promotions.

I plan on adding more in terms of that genre's features, since fighting games are my favorite genre of video games.

Mine too! Hence the interest, I tried doing one in JOW but grew discontent with that game. TEW though seems perfect, so maybe down the road after some hours in, fighting game mod.

Slightly offtopic, I'm a Street Fighter nut. You?

Also a little more on topic, I don't think I would ever do requests but the chaos of this mod made me think of Sam & Max. They would be perfect in this insanity.

How is it all going?

I did recently start working on the next version, a couple of characters have already been added, but it's really just the start of things.

Nice man.

Any ideas who going in? Or any changes made?

Also I know it might be a big ask, but any chance of splitting Marvel/DC into 2 companies?

I honestly don't really have a version-to-version plan on who goes into the worker list next, I kinda go with the flow. Nothing major yet for the next update, either.

I do have plans to make Marvel and DC separate promotions, but that probably won't be for a while, until I finally commit to overhauling some of the universe as a whole. (And when that happens, the Marvel/DC split won't be the only major shift in the 9000verse's line-up of companies)

Awesome man, really looking forward to it. really glad someone revived this

Due to the updates and the additions of more fighting game characters, I decided to try another Arcfight game. One of the more interesting things with Arcfight compared to say like the DC/Marvel company is I actually feel more comfortable "mixing the melting pot" as it were and taking characters from multiple franchises and having them work together.Screenshot_420.thumb.png.e439baafc31b6d4bc5e77966c385d787.png

UPDATE

I was pondering for the longest time on an SAMPP-style GIF variant to the picture pack, and today I may be starting to figure out how to make that a reality using my usual image-editing software GIMP 2. Though the downside is that it's probably gonna take a little while to get everything converted in one batch and then adjusted + I would have the responsibility of making new company/stable logos to go along with that version of the picture pack.

It most likely won't be incorporated just yet, but I can assure you it'll eventually be ready, down the line.

A sort of conceptual preview on the GIF pack, now that I've finished converting all the worker images into its proper format and size (through the power of useful GIMP 2 plugins) and am currently doing work on the stable/company logos. I'll admit I'm obviously nowhere near as talented with creating these types of logos as others, but I'm at least putting my mind into making sure each logo has at least some fitting aesthetics to its promotion. Again, with the fact that this is a mod that was been abandoned by its original creator a decade ago, there's some stuff I won't be able to accurately interpret the way Crayon would've wanted it (mainly the stuff not based primarily on a franchise).

wOULD it change based on the companies they work?

If so that is cool.

But if I start MFC, and I have loads of these it wouldn't look right.

I can confirm that the SAMPP-style GIF variant will be available for download once the next update comes out sometime before the end of this year (especially since I decided to add in a bit more pictures so you'd likely need to update to the newest version of the Picture Pack anyways) - at what point during this 'end of the year' period, I'm not certain, even as we're a little over a month and a half away from the new year.

Here's a few new worker pictures I just cut a few moments ago, a handful of what's probably more to come (I can't guarantee whether or not they'll all be part of the next update though):

VERSION 1.5 AVAILABLE!

DATA
Pictures: JPG / GIF

Since I don't feel like creating a big ol' tower of text for this, I'll simply mention the new workers (as there aren't a lot) and some notable changes besides that.

New workers:

Dynasty Warriors: Cao Ren, Daqiao, Huang Gai, Huang Zhong, Lianshi, Xiaoqiao, Xu Zhu, Zhou Yu
KOF Maximum Impact: Duke Burkoff, Hyená, Jivatma
Samurai Warriors: Inahime, Keiji Maeda, Kenshin Uesugi, Shingen Takeda
Street Fighter: Kolin (signed to SFC-EU), Menat, Zeku
Yakuza/Like a Dragon: Yu Morinaga (signed to RGGP)

Significant changes:

  • .GIF VERSION AVAILABLE! There are instructions on how to implement the GIF version of the worker pics since there's only one link to download the database file itself (which is using the JPG files by default); I may or may not eventually just do a separate link for the GIF version
  • Epic Corey and HardCorey now have images (created by NovelAI) so now they won't feel left out anymore
  • A few of the companies have new logos (seen in both versions)
  • Dynasty Warriors are now spread across the regions of Japan based on what faction they're mainly known for (just for the sake of organization)
  • Women of Mass Destruction is now in Russia since it was in a different European region due to Russia not being its own region in previous versions of TEW
  • Slowly been dealing with more of the odd 'conversion' problems that plagued this mod since I started working on the 'Revived' version, such as people having 0 experience when they really should have some, and stables being labeled as 'unimportant' across the bar.

Other than that, yeah, there's not much else I can say. I feel like I could've done a little bit more with this before releasing it, but I'm honestly looking towards the next step with this mod - and that's by completely overhauling it in the next big update. New companies coming in while other companies close down, lots more fun stuff with the 'narratives', and plenty more are to be expected, but it's probably not gonna be for a while (or even longer depending on how much more procrastination occurs between now and then).

Until then, enjoy.
