AEW - Beyond the Elite

Recommended Posts

I didn't expect CM Punk back. Personally I think he's done more harm than good to AEW IRL, although he is someone that brings attention to the company., but I'm not a big fan of the Elite either, Don Callis had it right saying "maybe it's the best thing that could happen" when The Young Bucks were unable to wrestle and Kenny was back to singles action. Enough about real AEW, this is TEW so let's see what happens with CM Punk.

MARCH WEEK 4

CHAIFETZ ARENA

ST. LOUIS, MO

image.pngimage.png

The show opens with Miro pacing in the parking lot and Renee Paquette approaches.

“Miro, why are you out here?”

“Hangman…do you see him?”

“No, I haven’t seen him all day.”

“Exactly!  Hangman is a coward.  He fears the Redeemer.  He knows that I have broken him and you will never see him again!”

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

JACK PERRY  VS JAKE HAGER

Hager’s power pays dividends early in the match as Perry has to use his quickness to keep his distance.  Hager shows off by ragdolling Perry in a bearhug but Perry digs deep and breaks it up with a series of right hands.  Hager charges into the corner, Perry moves, Hager hits hard and Perry rolls him up for a three count with Hager kicking out at 3 ½.

RESULT:  JACK PERRY VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.pngimage.png

Backstage we see Anna Jay watching Perry get his hand raised and even after their recent argument she’s got a smile on her face.  Tay Melo is standing next to her and notices the smile, looking annoyed and rolls her eyes.

image.png

NON TITLE MATCH

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

JULIA HART VS JAMIE HAYTER

Julia nails Jamie from behind at the start of the match and then does a Piledriver which sets up a neck issue for Hayter to overcome. After some nearfalls, Jamie takes advantage of a splash that is missed by Hart and starts her comeback. Once more, we get some back and forth before Hayter drills Hart with a Spinebuster before nailing a Curbstomp for the 3 count.

RESULT:  JAMIE HAYTER VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.pngimage.png

After the match, Britt Baker comes down to congratulate Hayter. Jamie looks at Britt and grabs a microphone. Hayter says that while she accepts Britt’s apology, Hayter must confess that she is not entirely sure yet if she does trust the D.M.D. But she does trust one thing…that Britt hates Saraya and Toni Storm. And so, that is what they will focus on. And the time will come that Saraya will meet Jamie for her rematch and when that day comes, the Women’s World Title will return to Hayternation. And then maybe, just maybe, Britt and Jamie can find out which one of each other is better.

Britt nods her head agreeing to that and the two shake hands resealing their alliance.

image.png

image.pngimage.png

Schiavone and Taz hype next week’s Dynamite which will see the Gunns take on Top Flight for the last spot in the four way Number One Contender’s Tag match.  We’ll also see Adam Cole make his in-ring return versus Lee Moriarty.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

image.pngimage.png

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

TETSUYA NAITO VS BRYAN DANIELSON

This match is a masterpiece in professional wrestling.  AEW Champion MJF is on commentary and dogs Danielson throughout the match.  The momentum goes back and forth with multiple false finishes.  Danielson finally puts Naito away with a belly to back suplex off the top.

RESULT:  BRYAN DANIELSON VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.pngimage.png

Danielson immediately shows his respect for his foe but as he gets his hand raised, MJF stands from his seat and the two have a staredown filled with mutual disgust as the show ends.

Note: This is the last of the ROH shows that is largely simmed. Going forward, each ROH show will be written by me. I provided some detail for the ppv so that you know where we're going from here.

image.png

Parker Bordeaux makes his Ring of Honor debut when he defeats Brandon Tate. The match is really meant to highlight the youngster who ends the match with a vicious Powerbomb.

image.png.23ac2d3ca10b6cf51dd5cfebb4ce80

Brian Cage def Dalton Castle with the drill claw in a competitive match

Hikaru Shida & Willow Nightingale def Marina Shafir & Allysin Kay in a Women of Honor Tag Team Match. The announcers put over that as a result of their win, both Shida and Nightingale will each receive ROH Women's World Title matches in the future.

ROH World Television Title
Samoa Joe def Frankie Kazarian who had taken Joe to the limit in this match and nearly won the TV title on several occasions. After tapping out to the Coquina Clutch, Frankie offered to honor the Code of Honor. Joe reluctantly complied but then showed that he respected Kazarian for the tough battle.

ROH airs a video package showing that the Cold Blooded - Handsome Killer, Hook has left AEW and come to Ring of Honor. He will be arriving next week on Ring of Honor tv.

ROH Women's World Championship
Serena Deeb def Athena in a terrific back-and-forth match when Serena locks Athena up in a cradle and then puts her foot on the ropes. The ref does not see it and Deeb is crowned the new Ring of Honor World Women's Champion.

image.png
Ring of Honor airs a commercial for its next pay-per-view event, Death Before Dishonor which will come on Friday Night Week 3 July, 2023.

ROH World Title
Claudio Castagnoli def Scorpio Sky in a match that saw both men trade near falls and battle for nearly 30 minutes before Scorpio went for a Top Rope Dive that was countered into the Ricola Bomb for the 3 count.

The announcers take us back to January of this year and the horrific and sad news of the passing of Jay Briscoe. Tonight, in what Mark Briscoe is calling his last Tag Team Match, Mark Briscoe will defend the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Titles against The Kingdom. Who is Briscoe's partner? We're about to find out.

ROH World Tag Team Titles:

The Kingdom comes out and then out comes the ROH Tag Team Champion Mark Briscoe...Taven, Maria & Bennett all mock Mark when they think that he has no partner.

Until....

Eddie Kingston has arrived in Ring of Honor as he comes out to be Mark Briscoe's partner. Eddie says that he and Jay Briscoe were good friends and tonight, in Mark Briscoe's final tag team match, Eddie wants the honor to fight with him. Mark hugs Eddie and the war begins.

It is a war that sees both teams brawl all over the arena and sees Eddie Kingston dive onto Matt Taven off of the big screen at the entrance area. Back in the ring, Mark Briscoe beats the crap out of Mike Bennett until Maria low blows him behind the ref and then The Kingdom takes over.

Kingdom takes turns brutalizing Briscoe while keeping Kingston from re-entering the match until Taven goes for "Just the Tip" on Briscoe who leans forward and then does a low blow of his own. The ref, clearly knowing the moment, acts like he saw nothing much to the roar of the crowd. Briscoe tags in his partner who starts taking over. Eventually, after trading some blows, Kingston nails the Uraken on Taven while Mark throws Bennett to the floor.

With Taven out, Kingston tags in Mark Briscoe who grabs Matt Taven and does his brother's finisher, the J-Driller for the 1....2....3.

After the match, Eddie hugs Mark Briscoe who thanks him. Kingdom get into the ring and then they break character and hug their opponents. As does most of the ROH locker room, the announcers leave the booth and come to ringside.

Mark Briscoe grabs a mic and says, with tears in his eyes, that this was for Jay. Mark confirms that he will not wrestle as a tag team again and that The Briscoes will forever be Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions.

With the crowd chanting "Thank you Jay", Mark places the title belts in the middle of the ring, and Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor fades to black.

APRIL WEEK 1

UBS ARENA

LONG ISLAND NY

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

DR. BRITT BAKER VS PAIGE VAN ZANT

The D.M.D. kicks off Dynamite in a back and forth match with Van Zant. After some near falls, however, Baker kicks Paige in the face and then hits a curbstomp. From there, Baker locks in the Lockjaw for the submission victory.

RESULT:  DR. BRITT BAKER VIA SUBMISSION

image.png

image.png

MJF comes out to a good bit of applause from his hometown crowd.  He collects a mic from ringside and soaks in the adoration before he signals for his music to be cut.

“Long Island, YOUR champ is here!  And unlike some people you can damn well see me because this championship shines like the sun.  After I retained said championship against Bryan Danielson in a match of his choosing, you might think I would be able to move onto bigger and better things but no, like a tapeworm, Bryan just won’t go away.  He wants a rematch because he was soooooo close to winning.  You know who says that?  A loser.  Bryan, you’re a loser.  Brie, your husband is a loser.  Birdie and Buddy, your dad is a loser.

So the only way to cut that tapeworm out of my gut is to load up on some fiber, shove 'em out and flush him for good.  That’s why I agreed to face him one more time because after I beat him again, there is no encore.  There is no sequel.  I will be done with Bryan Danielson for good.

Bryan, you gave it your best shot and like the B+ person you are, you came up short and you know you’re going to come up short again.  Because I’m better than you….and you know it!”

As the show goes to break, MJF’s music plays and he soaks in more hometown cheers.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

ADAM COLE VS LEE MORIARTY

Cole is focused on Moriarty as the bell rings and that’s to his detriment because he never sees Private Party run down and slide into the ring behind him until they’re on him.  The referee quickly calls for the bell as Excalibur says this was clearly a setup.

image.pngimage.png

RESULT:  ADAM COLE VIA DISQUALIFICATION

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

image.png

As Private Party continues their assault, Moriarty collects a chair from ringside.  He orders his guys to hold Cole down chest-first and raises the chair, clearly inclined to hit Cole in the head.  Given his history of concussions, Jim Ross says this should be a criminal act but before Moritary can swing down someone catches his eye.

image.png

Kyle O’Reilly runs down to the ring and takes out both members of Private Party with devastating kicks.  Moriarty swings for the fences but O’Reilly ducks and dropkicks the chair into his face.

The three assailants retreat as O’Reilly helps Cole up and the two long time friends share a hug.

image.png

image.pngimage.png

In the back, Renee Young is with the TBS Champion, Jade Cargill. Renee asks Jade about Nyla Rose’s apparent interest in the title. The champion says that she’s not about to run from anyone, so if Nyla wants another shot, she can have it whenever she wants. Hell, we can do it tonight if she wants.

image.png

Nyla shows up just then and looks at Jade and then smiles and says that they will have their match, when Nyla says so. But tonight, Jade can watch as Nyla destroys the former Women’s World Champion, Jaime Hayter tonight.

image.png

image.pngimage.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

JOHN SILVER AND EVIL UNO VS JEFF JARRETT AND JAY LETHAL ©

Silver and Uno have early success but the champs have decades of experience and a penchant for dirty tricks.  Once the latter comes into play, it’s all Jarrett and Lethal and they finish off a successful title defense with a ‘Macho’ elbow from Lethal onto Silver.

RESULT:  JEFF JARRETT AND JAY LETHAL RETAIN THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.png

image.png

A graphic is showing hyping that the Icon, Sting, will be on Rampage this Friday night!

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

THE GUNNS VS TOP FLIGHT

Standard tag match which sees Top Flight living up to their name with a lot of high flying and the Gunns slowing things down and trying to ground their opponents.  Top Flight looks like they’re going to punch their ticket to the number one contenders match but when Darius Martin goes to the top, Austin shoves him off, crashing to the mat.  Dante gets into the ring to go after him but the referee stops him allowing the Gunns to hit a double DDT on Darius and then Austin ties up Dante during the three count.

RESULT:  THE GUNNS VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.pngimage.png

The Gunns get their hands raised in victory but they’re distracted by someone high up in the stands….

image.pngimage.png

The Young Bucks are looking down at the Gunns and the two teams begin taunting each other when….

image.pngimage.png

The Blondes hop the barrier and stand at ringside and now all three teams are splitting their attention when…..

image.pngimage.png

The Acclaimed come out into the stage and all four teams share a staredown as the announcers hype the four team number one contender’s match which will happen in three weeks here on Dynamite.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

image.png

The Announcers discuss CM Punk’s return last week during the Elite’s accustomed goodbye to the crowd with Jim Ross saying that he hopes for everyone’s sake that we don’t see a repeat of some past incidents but business as definitely picked up!

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

JAMIE HAYTER VS NYLA ROSE

Early on, the Native Beast uses her size and power to just flatten the former champion over and over. But Jamie Hayter proves that she has the heart of a champion as she keeps fighting back into the match.

Hayter works on taking Rose’s leg out from under her and once she is able to get the Native Beast on the mat, Hayter’s focus is on Nyla’s back and legs to keep her down. Hayter leaps off the top rope and does a double knee stomp on Nyla’s ankle. Eventually, Hayter is able to nail Nyla with a running Knee to the back of her head. Hayter covers, but Nyla kicks out at two and is furious.

Nyla brutalizes Hayter with punishing slams and a massive splash in the corner. Nyla goes for a top rope Senton that crushes Hayter but when Nyla goes for a cover, Jamie barely kicks out.

The Native Beast is ready to end this and prepares to finish off her opponent when there is suddenly commotion in the audience.

image.png

Nyla sees this as the TBS Champion, Jade Cargill starts making her way down the aisles of fans toward ringside. Nyla is entirely distracted and that gives Hayter her shot. Jamie sneaks up behind Rose and rolls her up while Cargill laughs as the ref counts…1….2…3.

RESULT:  JAMIE HAYTER VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.png

After the match, a furious Nyla leaves the ring and charges up into the fans to go find the TBS Champion.

image.png

image.pngimage.png

Jamie is left in the ring and is celebrating her victory when SARAYA & TONI STORM rush into the ring. Saraya blasts Hayter from behind with her Women’s World Title as the two brutalize the former champion. Toni lifts Hayter up into a Piledriver while Saraya leaps off the middle rope spiking the former champion right onto the title belt.

image.png

Britt Baker comes rushing down to the ring, sending the champ and her best friend scurrying. But as Baker checks on Hayter, the announcers question what took Britt so long to get out here?

image.png

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

BUDDY MATTHEWS VS WARDLOW ©

Wardlow is fired up and starts hot, overpowering Matthews and going for a quick victory but as the match carries on, the House of Black on the outside begin to play a larger role both in distractions and outright interference.  Wardlow survives several close falls.  Matthews perches Wardlow up on the top turnbuckle and tries to superplex him but Wardlow knocks him down with a hard punch to the gut and then hits a jumping shoulder block from the top.  Matthews is flat on his back and Wardlow is feeling the energy of the crowd as he delivers three straight powerbombs for the 123.

RESULT:  WARDLOW RETAINS THE TNT CHAMPIONSHIP VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

image.png

Following the bell, Black and King hit the ring and begin putting a beat down on Wardlow.  Matthews joins in and they’re showing no mercy when….

image.png

Keith Lee runs down for the save and he begins cleaning house but after knocking King and Matthews around he turns and is hit with a spinning heel kick from Black that almost decapitates him.  Lee falls back like a redwood and then the House of Black continues their attack on both men.  Finally they stop and stand over their fallen foes as the show ends.

APRIL WEEK 1

UBS ARENA

LONG ISLAND NY

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

PAC VS MATT SYDAL

PAC attacks Sydal before the bell and never relents on his attacks.  He focuses on the neck time after time before locking in the Rings of Saturn and Sydal submits quickly.

RESULT:  PAC BY SUBMISSION

image.png

image.pngimage.png

PAC won’t release the Rings as the referee calls for the bell again but one thing does make PAC let go.

<iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="200" id="ips_uid_1120_16" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/raAt0JmC8vk" title="YouTube video player" width="400"></iframe>

image.png

Sting comes down to ringside and locks eyes with PAC.  He motions for a mic and is quickly given one.

“PAC, I’ve been in this business a long time and I’ve seen my share of bastards.  Some of them wore black and white and liked to spray paint people.  Some of them wore fancy robes and used goons to do their bidding.  But I have to give credit where it’s due.  You may be the biggest bastard of them all.  I wasn’t sure about that but after what you did to Darby, and he’s still recovering, it convinced me.  I’ve spent my career putting bastards in their place and somewhere, sometime, you and I are going to be eye to eye and we’ll see how tough you are.”

The staredown continues as we go to break.

image.png

image.pngimage.png

In a pre-tape Andradee El Idolo and Rush are sitting in a high class Mexican restaurant having dinner.

Andrade wipes his mouth with a napkin.  “You see, this is the difference between you and I, Ricky.  I am used to the finer things in life and you, well, are not.  This has given you a false sense of importance.  You think because you come from nothing you’re tough.  You are not tough.  You are delusional and I have decided to shed light on your delusions.  Rush and I are going to make it clear to you that you are nothing.  And Ricky, when this is all over, I want you to know that it was I who did this to you.”

He goes back to his dinner as the segment ends.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

RUBY SOHO VS THE BUNNY

A back and forth match but The Bunny is clearly outmatched by Ruby. Bunny tries to steal the match early with her foot on the ropes, but the ref sees it and Bunny is rewarded with a knee in the face by Ruby. From there, it is all Soho as she takes over and before long she has nailed No Future for the pinfall.

RESULT: RUBY SOHO VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.png

image.pngimage.png

After the match, Toni Storm & The AEW Women’s World Champion, Saraya come out to the ring. Ruby is anxious and confused as they get into the ring, but Saraya assures her that they came here as friends. Saraya says that all three of them go back a very long way and they all came from the same place. All three of them have been Outcasts in this locker room while trying to make things better, so they need to watch each other’s backs. Saraya tells Ruby that she can’t trust the AEW women’s locker room, but she can trust Saraya and Toni Storm and they are asking her to join them.

Ruby thinks it over for a bit and says that Saraya makes good points, but Ruby has done the girl group act before and she does better when she stands alone. Besides, the women of AEW are pretty cool and very talented, which is why Ruby came here. So the answer…is no.

Toni gets in Ruby’s face, but Saraya says to back off. That Ruby needs more time. They go to leave but as soon as Ruby turns her back, Toni jumps Ruby and Saraya joins in. They start to double team Ruby Soho when suddenly

Britt Baker runs down to the ring and evens the score. The Outcasts immediately bail from the ring while Britt offers her hand in friendship to Ruby who accepts. Ruby Soho has chosen AEW!

image.png

image.pngimage.png

The announcers hype this Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite which will see a member from all four tag teams in the number one contender’s match compete in a four way.

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

We’ll also hear from Bryan Danielson.

image.png

image.png

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

Backstage, Sammy Guavara and Tay Melo are with Renee Paquette.

“Sammy, due to your…questionable victory over Orange Cassidy you’ve been given an International Championship match at Double or Nothing….”

“Questionable?”

“Yes, clearly Anna Jay helped.”

Tay interjects.  “Anna is my best friend and she was merely being supportive.”

“Be that as it may, you have a match here on Rampage next week versus Orange Cassidy’s friend Danhausen.”

Tay quickly makes the sign of the cross.  “I don’t like him, he’s evil.”

Renee shrugs and nods in agreement.  “Also very nice.”

Sammy waves them both off.  “I”m not afraid of that freak and his fake voodoo crap.  Next week Danhausen I’m going to use you to send a message to your buddy and at Double or Nothing, that International title is coming home with me!”

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

ETHAN PAGE VS JON MOXLEY

Page starts the match by poking Moxley in the eye and then goes to town on him to take advantage.  It doesn’t last long though as Moxley clears his vision and angrily takes over.  He brutalizes Page who seeks help from Hathaway but his manager looks disgusted and  turns his back, walking away up the ramp.  Page looks confused and when he turns around he walks right into a kick to the gut and a Paradigm Shift.

RESULT: JON MOXLEY VIA PINFALL.

image.png

image.pngimage.png

Dr. Britt Baker comes out to the ring to close the show, but she did not come alone. Ruby Soho is with her and Ruby has a chair. Britt takes the mic and says that she wants to clear the air about what happened two nights ago on Dynamite.

There has been speculation on social media that Britt left her friend Jamie Hayter out there to get beat down by Saraya and her lackey, but that is not the case. When Saraya and Toni attacked Jamie, Britt was out in the parking lot on a phone call. Someone came out and told her what was going on in the ring and Britt immediately began running through the back to get to the ring. That’s it, it really was that simple.

Britt says that she understands how some can not trust her given the past, but the truth is the truth. And the truth is that Britt Baker was the very first woman hired in AEW. She is loyal to this company. She brought her boyfriend to this company when she could’ve gone where he used to be. And she did it to better this company. Britt Baker will fight for AEW and she will go to war for AEW and she can be trusted. And Britt is challenging Toni Storm for a match next week on Dynamite to prove where her loyalties are.

image.pngimage.png

Immediately, Britt and Ruby are ready for a fight. Ruby has that chair poised to strike and Saraya and Storm look ready to attack until they get to the ring and then back off a bit.

Storm says for everyone to calm down, they’re not here to fight. They’re out here to just accept the offer. This Wednesday on Dynamite, Toni Storm will face Dr. Britt Baker.

Saraya then says “if you make it to Wednesday!”

*CRACK*

RUBY SOHO TURNS AROUND AND NAILS BRITT BAKER IN THE HEAD WITH THE CHAIR!

Immediately Saraya and Toni enter the ring and attack Britt Baker. Baker tries to fight, but she is destroyed quickly. With an evil smile, Ruby hands the champ the chair and then she and Toni stretch Baker out, stomach first, holding her to the mat. Saraya nails Baker over and over with the chair on her exposed back.

After the beatdown is over, Ruby looks at Storm and Saraya and they all quickly do a group hug before the champ and Storm lift Ruby Soho up on their shoulders. This was a damned set up and these Outcasts have taken out Jamie Hayter on Wednesday and now Britt Baker tonight.

Who will be next?

APRIL WEEK 1, 2023

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS

ORLANDO, FLORIDA

ROH Wrestling opens with photos from Supercard of Honor showing the ROH World Title finish, the TV Title match and the Women’s Title change. From there the photos focus on the main event, Mark Briscoe & Eddie Kingston defending the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Titles against The Kingdom and then vacating the titles. The recap ends with the entire roster and crowd chanting for Jay Briscoe.

image.png

image.png

In the cold open, Ian Ricabonni is in the ring and announces that Tony Khan has decided that Ring of Honor must be run separately from AEW and so he has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer to oversee Ring of Honor. That man is one that we all know and that man is here right now…..

image.png

Nigel McGuinness returns to Ring of Honor to a standing ovation. Nigel says how great it is to be home and says that he is the luckiest man on earth. Nigel had an amazing in-ring career and ever since he has retired, he’s been lucky enough to see how not one but two great bosses create revolutions and shake up the wrestling business. And that is what Ring of Honor will aim to do once again over the coming weeks, months and years. But the reason that Nigel is out here right now are these (holds up the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Titles). Nigel says that Mark Briscoe inspired us all last week at Supercard of Honor and he will continue his career here in ROH as a singles star. We can all hope that Mark Briscoe has some big wins to come, starting tonight when he is in our main event against, Brian Cage.

Nigel then announces that in May, a tournament to crown new Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions will take place. And this tournament is open to ANY tag team in the world. Teams should start reaching out to his office immediately as the brackets will be announced in just a few weeks.

Stick around, when we come back, you asked for him, he got sent..it’s the Ring of Honor debut of….Hook!

COMMERCIAL BREAK

image.png

image.png

ROH Wrestling returns with Serena Deeb holding her brand new ROH Women's World Title saying that Athena can cry all she wants about being cheated out of her title. The truth is that the Professor is just smarter than Athena. Now this title is around a real champion's waist. Serena says that she knows that Athena want's a rematch, and she will get one, but it will be on the champ's terms and on the champ's time. If knowledge is power (pats the title belt), then Serena Deeb has all the power in the world.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

COLE KARTER VS HOOK

Karter tries to launch an aerial attack on Hook, but the son of Taz catches Karter in mid-air and drops him on his neck with a Taz-Plex. From there, Hook takes his time just flipping Karter everywhere before locking in REDRUM for the submission victory.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION:  HOOK

image.png

image.pngimage.png

After the match, Tony Neese comes out to the ring mockingly saluting the new member of the ROH roster. Hook looks at him wondering what is up.

image.png

image.png

Don’t go anywhere, when ROH Wrestling returns, the former Women’s World Champion will be in action, next.

image.pngimage.png

ROH returns to a highlight video of the ROH Television Champion, Samoa Joe. Next week, Joe defends his TV title against Chuck Taylor.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

EMI SAKURA VS ATHENA

Sakura uses her years of experience on Athena in a competitive match. Emi beats down the former Women’s World Champion and grounds her with painful submission holds. But Sakura makes a mistake when she tries a diving headbutt and ends up eating the mat. Athena starts powering back into the match and after some strikes, some powerful slams and a few near falls, she soon nails Sakura with the O-Face Cutter for the hard fought pinfall.

WINNER BY PINFALL:  ATHENA

image.png

image.png

After the match and after Sakura adheres to the Code of Honor,  Athena grabs a mic and says that while Deeb may claim that she can defend her title whenever she wants, the new COO of ROH, Nigel McGuiness told Athena that Serena Deeb must defend that title within the next 30 days. And her opponent will be...Athena. Tick Tock, …”champ”.

image.png

image.png

A scene plays out of a young, good looking man going to ritzy events in New York City. The Met Gala, attending some party on top of a high rise, diving into an infinity pool. All around him are beautiful women and champagne and clearly the good life. He looks into the camera and smirks before sipping champagne.

The caption below him says “Charles Mason, the Prince of New York, coming soon to Ring of Honor.”

COMMERCIAL BREAK

image.pngimage.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

image.png

ROH returns as Ian and Caprice tell us what is coming up next week on ROH Wrestling: Samoa Joe defends his World Television Title against Chuck Taylor, The Kingdom  will be in action and Eddie Kingston will return to Ring of Honor after Supercard of Honor. But now it is time for our main event, Mark Briscoe vs Brian Cage!

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

BRIAN CAGE W/PRINCE NANA VS MARK BRISCOE

Briscoe comes out to a thunderous ovation and starts the match in full control until Nana trips him just as we go to a commercial. When ROH returns, Cage is throwing Briscoe all over the place and doing considerable damage to Briscoe’s back area. Cage does a Masterlock that sees Briscoe get to the ropes only for Nana to pull the rope back. The ref yells at Nana which allows Mark to back kick Cage low and break the hold.

From there, Mark Briscoe makes this a brawl and the two end up in the crowd at one point before back inside the ring. Cage kicks out of a DDT and backdrops Mark when he tries a Piledriver. When Cage goes for a Lariat, Mark Briscoe grabs the arm and sends him into the ropes, delivering a running knee to the head of Cage and then the J-Driller in honor of his brother for the 1…2…3.

WINNER BY PINFALL:  MARK BRISCOE

image.png

image.png

After the match, Briscoe celebrates his win and says that he's taking aim at the ROH World Champion in Claudi.....

image.png

Christian Cage blasts Briscoe from behind. What the hell is this? Christian stomps on Mark Briscoe before hitting two Kill Switches on the former ROH World Tag Team Champion.

Why in the world has Christian Cage arrived in Ring of Honor? And why is he targeting Mark Briscoe? We’ll see you next week on Ring of Honor Wrestling!

APRIL WEEK 2

COVELLI CENTRE

YOUNGSTOWN, OH

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

Dynamite opens with a camera running up the parking lot area. When the camera gets there it shows Leva Bates on the ground being kicked at. The assailants are AEW Women’s World Champion, Saraya, Toni Storm and Ruby Soho. They are laughing as they assault Bates.  The newest member of the Outcasts, Soho, grabs Bates by the hair and slams her head into the side of a car knocking Bates out. Once officials and refs rush in, the Outcasts back off and go to a vehicle, before they get in..Saraya swears that they’re not done tonight. The vehicle pulls away while the rest of the women’s locker room rushes out to check on Bates.

image.png

        image.pngimage.pngimage.png

       MIRO VS ALEX REYNOLDS

Miro makes short work of Reynolds showing a real mean streak.  He overpowers him and brutalizes him until he locks in a camel clutch for the win.

RESULT:  MIRO VIA SUBMISSION

image.png

image.png

The bell is ringing but Miro won’t let go.  Instead he applies even more pressure, calling out for Hangman Page to come save this man but Hangman does not appear.  Miro finally releases Reynolds, giving him a stomp on the back for good measure as we go to break.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

KIERA HOGAN AND SKYE BLUE VS NYLA ROSE AND RED VELVET

Pretty even match early until The Native Beast gets annoyed and starts taking over. Rose punishes Blue & Hogan with power moves before dropping Blue with the Beast Bomb. Rose screams “That’s for you Jade” as she covers and Velvet enjoys the show. 1…2…3.

RESULT:  NYLA ROSE AND RED VELVET VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.png

Stokely Hathaway is seen pacing backstage on his phone.

“No!  That’s the point.  I didn’t come to AEW to be satisfied with mediocrity.  Next Friday on Rampage I am calling for an executive reorganizational meeting of the Firm and I will not abide by losing!”

He hangs up on whoever he was talking to and then notices the camera.  He storms up to it, shoving it away.

“Get that damn thing out of my face!”

image.png

image.pngimage.png

On the stage, Tony Schiavone welcomes Jon Moxley.

“Jon, you asked for this time so we’re all waiting to hear what’s on your mind.”

“I got a lot on my mind but first and foremost, am I the only one who’s sick and tired of Miro walking around here, yelling for Hangman when he knows damn well he ain’t here?”

“I think we’re all sick of it.”

“Yea, well I got a good idea where Page is, and I don’t know why he’s been awol but I’m gonna find out.”

Mox turns and storms backstage as Schivaone throws us to a commercial.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

JACK PERRY VS MATT MENARD

Menard begins by showing zero respect to his opponent, going as far as to slap Perry in the face.  When Perry immediately dropped him with a right hand the fight was on and after a back and forth match Perry finished it by locking in the Snare Trap STF.

RESULT:  JACK PERRY VIA SUBMISSION

image.png

image.pngimage.png

Tony Schiavone is with the TBS Champion, Jade Cargill. Jade says that she saw what Nyla did earlier and she also knows that Nyla and Vickie have already left the building.

Since Nyla wants to run her mouth, she can do so to the Baddest Champion in AEW’s face this Friday on Rampage.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

NICK JACKSON VS MAX CASTER VS GRIFF GARRISON VS AUSTIN GUNN

A lot of high flying action with all four men in the ring.  Jackson holds an early advantage keeping the others down but Caster makes a comeback, hitting a series of Samoan Drops on all three opponents only to walk into a superkick from Jackson.  Gunn takes advantage of the no disqualification stipulation and collects a chair, going to town on all three of his opponents but every time he goes for a pin they kick out.  Frustrated, he wedges the chair in the corner but he turns around into a rolling DDT from Caster.  Caster gets up right into an Elite Destroyer from Jackson.  Jackson poses for the crowd, forgetting there’s a fourth man in the match.  Garrison runs him into the chair wedged in the corner and rolls him up for the unexpected win.

RESULT:  GRIFF GARRISON VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.pngimage.png

As everyone else is shocked, Pillman and Garrison exchange a hug and raise their arms.  Taz says that anyone who has counted the Blonds out of this upcoming four way match is making a big big mistake.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

MERCEDES MARTINEZ VS THE BUNNY

The Bunny shows heart as she receives continuous punishment from Martinez but she does not quit. After a mistake by Mercedes, Bunny actually gets some offense and scores with a Diamond Cutter for a near fall. But Martinez does a big boot to Bunny when she runs off the ropes and that’s the end of any offense from Bunny. Martinez pummels Bunny with a Powerbomb and calls for the end….

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

The Outcasts jump the barricades around the ring and rush into the ring. They  make good on their promise to return and attack both women causing the ref to throw the match out.

RESULT:  NO CONTEST

image.png

image.pngimage.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

The Bunny curls up on the mat and then rolls to the floor, but Mercedes tries to fight back. She is able to stand up and floors Toni and then grabs Ruby by the neck, but turns around right into a shot to the head by Saraya with the Women’s Championship Belt. Toni and Ruby hold Mercedes down as Saraya grabs a chair and slides back into the ring and slams the chair down hard on Martinez’s back, just like they did last week.

Ruby grabs a microphone and says that every single woman in this damned company is on notice. The Outcasts are here for a reason and it is to rip this division and this company to shreds.

Saraya says that these girls are just children. They were not ever anything in this sport and they aren’t anything now. They have never been where The Outcasts have been. They have never shined as bright as the Outcasts have shined and these arrogant little glorified indy wrestlers that Tony Khan has cobbled together actually believe that they mean a damned thing? They don’t and they never will.

The Outcasts have chosen not to be nice and they have chosen to burn this whole thing down. There will be no assimilation, there will only be chaos and destruction. Every single woman in this company, hell every single person, is put on notice……watch your back. The war has begun!

image.png

image.png

The announcers hype this Friday’s Rampage which will see Sammy Guevara take on the very nice, very evil Danhausen.

image.pngimage.png

image.png

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

MATT HARDY VS ORANGE CASSIDY ©

Hardy jumps Cassidy before the bell rings and doesn’t let up.  He seems to have an intensity we haven’t seen in some time.  Cassidy takes a beating but keeps kicking out of pinfall attempts.  Hardy plants him with a slam and goes to the second rope for a leg drop but Cassidy moves and Hardy lands hard.  Now it’s the champion’s turn to deal out some punishment and he begins wearing Hardy out from one corner to the other.  Hardy makes one final attempt to win, hitting a low blow unseen by the referee but when he puts his feet on the ropes for leverage she does see it.  While Hardy pleads his case, Cassidy recovers and when Hardy goes to resume his attack he’s pulled into a small package.

RESULT:  ORANGE CASSIDY RETAINS THE INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP VIA PINFALL.

image.png

image.png

Following the commercial break Bryan Danielson comes down to the ring.

“Last week, MJF stood in this ring and he did what he does best…run his mouth.  That’s fine, it’s part of this business.  But Max you committed the cardinal sin.  You talked about my family.  I’m here to ask…no…hell with that, I’m here to tell you, that I better never hear the names Brie, Birdie, or Buddy, come out of your mouth again.

Rebellion was a lesson in humility, at least it was for me.  Maybe I was over confident, maybe I was underestimating you, the fact is you’re still the champion..for now.  Double or Nothing is my last shot at ripping that title out of your hands and I’m going to give you the fight of both of our lives.  I’ve been on the biggest stage, against the biggest names, but this is different.  This is bigger than all of it, Max, because there is no coming back if I fail again.

You have your whole career ahead of you and let’s be honest, I don’t.  Someday when you’re my age you’ll appreciate the moments when they happen and make no mistake this will be my moment.  See you at Double or Nothing, champ.”

APRIL WEEK 2

COVELLI CENTRE

YOUNGSTOWN, OH

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

Rampage begins with half the locker room and officials  separating Warlow and Keith Lee from Brody King and Buddy Matthews.  Both sides clearly want to fight as we go to the ring.

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

BIG BILL VS RICKY STARKS

Bill uses his size to dominate early but he’s cocky and it comes back to bite him when he misses a running boot in the corner.  Starks moves and Bill gets hung up.  Starks takes the opening and begins chopping him down with kicks, weakening his legs.  Starks’ speed advantage comes into play with the big man hobbled.  Starks goes to the top and hits a blockbuster for the win.

RESULT: RICKY STARKS VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.png

TBS Champion Jade Cargill comes out to the ring and says that since Nyla Rose has chosen to run her mouth and then not be there to step up and answer for her talk, the Baddest decided to come here to Rampage. So, Nyla is backstage and now is the time, put up or shut up bitch and get out here.
image.png

Nyla Rose comes out to the stage and starts power walking to the ring but stops midway and says that’s enough. She tells the TBS Champion that since Jade wants the Native Beast, here she is…so, what's up?

Jade says that she is tired of the bs, Nyla clearly wants another shot at this title and she clearly wants to go so let's go, right now.

Nyla says that she does want to fight Jade for that title again and she will take HER title back, but it is not going to be in this hick town. It’s going to be on a much bigger stage…Las Vegas….Double or Nothing! In just over a month, the so-called Baddest Around will put her title on the line, if she’s got the balls.

Jade laughs at that and says “you would know all about that” and then tells Nyla that it’s on. At Double or Nothing, Jade Cargil will shut Nyla Rose down and she will shut her ass up for the last damn time and she will then leave Vegas STILL the TBS Champion!

The announcers put over that the two have agreed and it’s on. Nyla Rose vs Jade Cargill for the TBS Title at Double or Nothing!

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

SAMMY GUEVARA VS DANHAUSEN

Danhausen’s usual showmanship begins with the match with Tay running away from being cursed.  Unfortunately for the evil nice man, Guevara takes advantage of the side show and blasts him with a forearm to the back of the head.  The match is all Guevara as he shows off his skills and ends it with a shooting star press.

RESULT:  SAMMY GUEVARA VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

Tay slides in a folded chair to Sammy who puts it around Danhausen’s neck but before he can do anything, Orange Cassidy runs down to the ring.  Sammy and Tay quickly leave ringside.

image.png

image.png

image.pngimage.png

image.pngimage.png

This Wednesday night on Dynamite, the fight which was avoided tonight will happen in the ring when Warlow and Keith Lee take on  Brody King and Buddy Matthews in tag action.

image.png

image.png

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

RIHO VS SARAYA ©

Saraya starts this match with an abundance of arrogance and it nearly costs her when Riho kicks the champ in the knee and nails a running knee strike for a near fall. Riho uses her fast paced attack and speed to keep Saraya on her toes and eventually sends the champ to the floor who is trying to get a breather.

Saraya heads up the aisle but Riho chases and that’s when

image.png

Toni Storm comes out from the back and when Riho sees her, she stops dead cold and goes back to the ring. Now Saraya has back up at ringside and the challenger feels this when she bounces off the ropes and is tripped by Toni.  That gives Saraya the chance that she needs to start wearing down Riho with brutal and punishing submission holds. After a Brainbuster from the 2nd rope, the champ covers…1….2….Riho kicks out! Saraya does a Superkick but when she goes for a Powerbomb, Riho turns herself around and rolls Saraya up into the Victory Roll…..1…..2….Saraya kicks out.

The challenger ducks a clothesline and sends Saraya into a corner and charges with a Handspring Back Elbow. The champ crashes to the mat and the challenger goes to the top and nails a 450!!! Wow. Riho covers but Toni Storm is on the apron distracting the ref.

Riho goes over and punches Storm in the mouth, Storm falls to the floor and immediately tries to get into the ring. Away from the ref,

image.png

Ruby Soho leaps the barricade and throws the belt into Saraya. Riho turns around and *CRACK*...Saraya knocks Riho out and throws the Women’s Title to Ruby. Saraya covers….1….2…..RIHO KICKS OUT!!!!

Saraya can’t believe it. The Outcasts can’t believe it. Riho gets up and demands Saraya to bring it and the champ charges but Riho ducks, goes for a Spear but Saraya catches her, lifts the Challenger up and slams her into a DDT for the 1…2….3.

Following the match, the Outcasts get their champion out of the ring, the look on their faces lets us all know that they know that Riho damned near pulled off the upset here tonight.

RESULT:  SARAYA RETAINS THE NEW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP VIA PINFALL

image.png

image.png

We go backstage to Renee Paquette.

“Ladies and gentlemen, my guests….the AEW Trios Champions, the Elite.”

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

“Gentlemen, I have to ask.  A few weeks ago you were about to say goodnight to the audience and we saw the return of CM Punk who’s been gone for several months.  I’m not going to get into those details but what do you make of all this?”

Omega gives her a smile.  “Renee, Punk is back, good for Punk.  But we have business to attend to.  Next week on Rampage we have to put these titles on the line against Death Triangle and I’d be lying if I said I still wasn’t sore from the best of seven we had with them.”

Nick nods.  “You’re exactly right.  Our focus is keeping these titles and we have serious opponents coming up.”

Matt puts an arm around his brother and Kenny.  “And after we defend our titles next Friday…..”

He stops as a man walks up with a package.  “I’m looking for the Elite.”

Omega grins.  “You found’em.”

The man hands over the package and leaves.

Renee is curious as she tries to peek as Omega opens it, but then her face shows surprise.  Omega reaches into the box and pulls out a smaller box….

…of CM Punk ice cream bars.

The Elite do not look amused as the show ends.

Alright guys,

We took a chance with this diary as we wanted to try to do something other than WWE. And while we both wish the real AEW well, the fact is that we just weren't connecting with their product or style. As such, we weren't connecting with this project. We respect our readers too much to continue something that we're not feeling, so we're gonna end this. I am sure that we'll be back again in due time because Piper and I have the itch to keep going with diaries (with our goal of that one diary that keeps going for years), but we're not gonna commit to something that we don't feel.

Thank you so much for reading this and we hope you read whatever we inevitably do in the future. Take care!
