I will be keeping the goal fairly simple as the first goal is to get to small size and be in the COTT. I'll see where I want to go from there. I'll be using the rule that HSPW only uses unemployed wrestlers until I reach Medium/Big, limiting me to mostly unknown wrestlers that I will have to build up. I will use alliance trades after joining COTT for doing a bit of the old school way doing things. The territory champ tries to win the alliance title often failing. I will not make my wrestlers champion unless they are actually capable of carrying the COTT title. If my wrestlers are hired by another company, I will not release them, but I cannot resign them to a new deal until they are unemployed again. This rule will also apply to raises. The show will also use some 1970's wrestling rules from the NWA. These will most be used for match write ups and to help me think of some ways to plan matches. Rules of HSPW Closed fists are not permitted strikes. Open handed strikes and most non-dangerous kicks are allowed. Ignoring warnings may be met with Disqualification. Pulling hair, wrestling gear and trunks are not allowed. Subsequent warnings may lead to disqualification. Eye gouges, biting, and digit manipulation with intent to injure are not allowed and after warning may lead to disqualification. Any attacks to the genitals of the opponent or use of a foreign object are immediate disqualifications. Deliberately throwing your opponent over the top rope will be an immediate disqualification. Exceptions are only made in battle royals. Competitors will have a twenty count to re-enter the ring after leaving. The count will restart with every subsequent exit from the ring. Wrestling outside the ring is disallowed and will result in both competitors being disqualified. For Tag Matches Wrestlers will have five seconds to leave the ring after making a tag, staying in longer may incur a disqualification. Tag may only be made with hand-to-hand contact and the outside partner must hold the tag rope in view of the official to be tagged in. My next post will be the roster page and then the one after will be the first show of the year. He is the better striker and more technical of the two and often compliments his partner’s flashier moveset with set ups and simplicity. He expects two of them to be one of the top tag teams to ever grace wrestling as their careers go on. Midwest Tag Team Championship: Skulls of Darkness & Lord Darkmore and Skullface are young speedy wrestlers. They have found a following with their gothic look and behaviors, especially among the teenagers of the Midwest who don’t see young men like this often. Indiana Championship: Marcus English One half of American Gold. The more solid if less athletic member of the team was the first to win a singles title in the company. He often does the job of wearing down his opponents to get Maliek the openings needed to exploit his amazing athleticism. Main Event (at game start) The Fighting Irish: “The Dealer” Crockett Tubbs and Conner Threepwood The top heels of the promotion. Conner has shown disdain for his home state since coming back on his world tour, thinking himself and his partner too good for Indiana. Tubbs often backs him up. Both men are experts at submissions and limb targeting. Harvey Humble The most loved man in the promotion, his size wows the fans and terrifies his opponents. His kind demeanor and booming voice can turn hard quickly on those who wrong him or those who come to enjoy the shows. Sin Machine: Judgement Jones and Malice Malone The two large face-painted men are arguably the biggest threats to the faces of the company with them often getting victories without their opponents being able to knock them down. They often trap their opponents for most of the match with strong throws and constant tags. “Vain” Mark Crane The first Midwest champion and the biggest narcissist in the company. He has an easel with a painting of him at ringside for all of his matches, and often brings a mirror as well to put in front of fans so that he can stare at himself. Despite his smugness he is adept at using submissions to wear down opponents for his Beauty Shot and Unprettier finishers. Agent Morris The second half of Agents of Change. He is more explosive and uses combinations far more than his partner. His speed for being over 250lbs wows the crowds and surprises opponents alike. He also uses the intelligence his philosophy degree proves to get into opponents' heads at times. “Marvelous” Maliek Chamberlain The second half of American Gold and a former tag team champion with English. He is the best athlete in HSPW, sometimes moving too fast for his own good and getting caught in traps laid by the ne'er do wells of the promotion. Midcard (at game start) Lazy Joe A local insomniac who blames the world for his lack of sleep and takes it out on the fans. There are reports the man used to be called Smokey Joe out west, but HSPW has been unable to verify. The Chicago Mangler The largest man in the company, and the most intimidating. He was the first Indiana champion, and if not for his slowness and lack of stamina he may well have been champion for even longer. “Thug Life” Suge Wallace The Californian came to the company recently and defies stereotypes and preconceived views about him that the less open fans might hold against him by being one of the best role models in HSPW. He spends time helping communities and beating villains as he shows how a real man acts. Magic Cat No one has been able to find any information on this Individual anywhere. Only speculation on him being a former carnival member, who fled once there were disappearances tied to the troupe. He often terrifies the children and families that attend HSPW shows. Egon Merowitz A heroic firefighter who has received medals from his hometown for bravery who has become a wrestler. The fitness gained by his previous line of work and his natural power has made him an interesting one for the future. “Prime Time” Jack Pryde w/ “Playboy” Jack Sawyer The only man to give Mark Crane a fight for biggest ego, and his manager being one of the sleaziest in the Midwest. Their moral failings aside, Pryde is one of the most promising talents in the area and can back up his substantia trash talking abilities in the ring. Sawyer picks up the slack of any of Pryde’s inexperience with his timely distractions and quick mouth. Dallas Death Squad: Eli Thatcher and Uriah Sands These tough Texans would be liked by the crowds with their toughness and exciting style, if only they knew how to not take cheap shots and go too far in their matches. The American Odd Couple: “Redneck” Chuck Goony and “Mr. Mardis Gras” Lazareth Fontaine Two very conflicting figures whose strange friendship inspires some to not be fearful of their fellow man’s differences. Both are able to handle themselves in the ring despite Fontaine's propensity to give out bead necklaces to the crowd, and Goony’s oftentimes over straight-forwardness. Lowercard/Jobbers (at game start) Adam McLeary A very small man from New York, he is barely able to budge anyone with his 5 '1 frame. He spends most nights on his back or tapping. Phil Anders Too young and headstrong he gets caught by his experienced betters; he could improve into something great with the right guidance. Rules of Traditions: Jeff Petruzelli and Jesse Elliers The blandest men in the Midwest, despite their amateur accolades neither man can get any consistent success in the ring. wwesvrfan215 Posted May 21, 2023 Author Share Posted May 21, 2023 (edited) Circle City Classic (2022) Indianapolis Attendance: 97 Match 1: #1 Contenders battle royal Rating: 33 vs vs vs vs vs vs vs vs vs Magic Cat was disqualified five minutes into the match after locking in a rope-assisted choke on Agent Morris, eventually knocking out the Midwest champion’s partner. A groggy Morris was then eliminated by Crockett Tubbs and Prime Time Jack Pryde. Magic Cat was unblinkingly staring a hole into the Agent of Change as they were escorted to the back, Magic by security and Morris by medical personnel. The next eliminations came quick as Lazareth Fontaine and Chucky Goony were eliminated by Eli Thatcher and Uriah Sands after the two Texans used a partially exposed ring post to stun Goony by whipping him back first into it. They then tossed Fontaine who had been checking on his partner before using their numbers to remove a slow-moving Goony as well. The Texans were gone next as Suge Wallace and Harvey Humble took the chance to get them stacked up for Harvey to hit a ring shaking corner splash on both men before clotheslining them out of the ring. Eli, enraged at his elimination, took his frustration out on Fontaine with a kick to the head and attempted to choke him with his bead necklace. Lazareth was helping his still hobbling partner to the back and hadn't seen it coming. Uriah blocked Goony from Eli and shoved him into the steps back first, making his already hurt back even worse. Security and staff quickly separated the men apart and escorted the Texans away to boos. Jack and Tubbs used underhanded tactics to down Harvey by stealthily re-exposing the turnbuckle and baiting the massive man to go headfirst into the post. Harvey fell down in the corner seemingly out cold, allowing the two heels the chance to work on Wallace. They would beat him down with forearms and open-handed strikes to weaken the newcomer as Harvey started to stir. Right before both men attempted a double clothesline the sleeping giant got up and groggily floored Crockett, leaving room for Wallace to counter “Prime Time” and use his momentum to body drop him to the outside. Unfortunately, Jack’s “Pryde” had been hurt and he grabbed Suge’s leg as he attempted to help Humble get rid of Tubbs. Suge was eliminated from behind by Crockett as he tried to get rid of Jack. Suge chased Jack before security came back out to hold him and the other man ran. Crockett attempted to take out the woozy big man by hacking at his knees. All he did was make Harvey angry as the big man made a comeback and hit three corner splashes on Tubbs before tossing him. Harvey Humble was the new #1 contender for the Midwest championship. Match 2: Mark Crane and Phil Anders vs Rules of Tradition and Rating:26 Anders and Crane came out with the first ever Midwest champion getting booed due to his vain nature. Anders wasn’t much better as he cockily was flirting with women obviously in relationships in front of their angry partners. A short match, Anders spent the most time in the ring, smugly beating on the two other men as his partner stayed outside the ring. Looking at a small mirror he had brought with him. Jeff nearly turned the tables before Anders used the ropes to give him time to tag in Crane who quickly came in and hit an Unprettier to end the match. Match 3: Maliek Chamberlain vs Lazy Joe Rating:18 Joe came out looking crazy, red-eyed and wild hair painting a clear picture. He used nearly obscene gestures and insults to tell the crowd to quiet down and clean up so he could get some rest tonight without having to deal with the fans' stench and sound, getting incensed as Maliek led the crowd through some chants. Maliek used Joe’s slowed reflexes to make quick work of the veteran, submitting the insomniac in a few minutes. Match 4: Egon Merowitz vs Adam McLeary Rating:19 Egon came out to cheers as commentary mentions his career in firefighting. The match took forever to start as the ref had to continually remove hidden objects and jewelry from Adam, the crowd and Merowitz getting restless for the match to start. McLeary spent most of the match running as fast as his 5’1 frame could outside the ring, knowing Egon would follow the rules and not hit him until back in the ring. Using tricks to get Egon caught on the railing or in the ring tarp. His attempts at getting the much larger man counted out all failed as Merowitz easily got out of the predicaments and eventually caught him and hit his Roaring Back Fist to knock Adam out and win the match. Match 5: Midwest Tag Team Title match: Sin Machine and vs Skulls of Darkness(c) and Rating: 26 The much smaller champions faced the biggest tag team in the territory in Judgement Jones and Malice Malone. Lord Darkmore and Skullface were dwarfed by their opponents and felt that size difference all match. Sin Machine kept attacking Skullface throughout the match, holding him in their corner for most of the match, until a botched trick where Malone made an illegal tag to draw the red’s attention so Jones could use illegal strikes on Skullface failed. Skullface blocked the hit and was able to use his speed to get Darkmore into the match with a hot tag. Darkmore used his speed to keep Jones and Malone off balance long enough to set up a tag for Skullface to try and dive from the top. Unfortunately, Malone “accidentally” ran into the ropes and caused Skullface to fall from the top rope to ringside. The ref ended the match in favor of Sin Machine to protect Skullface, but they wouldn’t get the titles tonight. Match 6: Indiana Title Match: Marcus English(c) vs The Chicago Mangler Rating:20 The champion English hoped to join his partner in having wins over larger opponents when they met up later tonight as he met the massive Mangler. Mangler used his power advantage early to toss Marcus from one side of the ring to the other. He was eventually caught when he tried to do a leaping corner splash and banged his head into the top turnbuckle. This allowed English to hit a quick roll up for the victory as he bailed from the angry big man. The crowd cheered as Marcus collected his title. Match 7: Midwest Title match: Agent Patterson(c) vs Conner Threepwood Rating:41 As with all Midwest Title matches this match will be two out of three falls. The challenger Threepwood came out first to boos and a couple bits of trash as he looked confident of his ability to win. Patterson came down looking ready to take out the skilled grappler. The first fall came as Patterson controlled Conner with his size advantage until it was countered by Threepwood landing a cheap shot with a closed fist. The dazed Patterson was then able to be locked into the Stretch Plum and was forced to tap. The second fall came after Conner worked a while on Patterson’s left leg when Threepwood attempted another closed fist attack while the ref tried to separate the two men in the corner. He missed and allowed Patterson to give some tit for tat with his own punch. He then hit an Agent Drop for the second fall. Threepwood was able to sneak a carefully hidden weapon shot on Patterson’s leg before the final fall started. It seems that Tubbs had been able to hide a small weapon into the ring lining during the chaos of the battle royal. The final fall was the quickest of the bunch as Patterson stayed on the ropes to support himself, getting chopped down to boos by Conner when he got up. Conner played with the crowd as he set up his Stretch Plum, but he allowed Patterson to run both of them in the corner, squashing Conner who refused to let go. When Patterson was turned to be squashed into the corner chest first, he was able to get his legs up and use the turnbuckles to flip Threepwood into a pin. Threepwood was unwilling to let go of his Stretch Plum and found himself trapped for the three. wwesvrfan215 Posted May 31, 2023 Author Share Posted May 31, 2023 War on the Wabash (2022) Fort Wayne, Indiana Attendance: 144 Match 1: Maliek Chamberlain vs Phil Anders Rating:22 Phil Anders comes out looking like the smuggest man in Indiana, making the announcer call him the most attractive man to ever enter Fort Wayne as part of his entrance. Maliek got the crowd energized with two quick slaps on Anders before using his strength to toss the man with an impressive delayed suplex. He then hit his Rolling DDT finish to quickly end the match to great cheers. Anders ran off looking for a mirror after getting up, afraid he had broken his "perfect" nose taking the move. Segment 1: “Prime Time” Jack Pryde interview Rating:35 Footage from a local sport podcaster featuring Pryde is displayed with a message saying that HSPW does not support the words of Jack Pryde. In the footage Jack spends his time going after Suge Wallace, despite being rebuffed by the host, calling him “Wally” whenever referencing him. Jack says that it was blind luck that he got eliminated by Wallace, saying if Humble hadn’t distracted him that “Prime Time” would be challenging for the Midwest championship in Fort Wayne. He also says that if he got a fair shot at Wallace with no blindside hits that he could beat a guy who wastes his efforts on other people instead of himself and that Suge would never hold a candle to him on his worst day. The interview ended with Jack being condescending to the host and walking out, saying he’s got money to make. A message states that Pryde has been fined and suspended for being a poor representative of the promotion and an apology to the podcast for his behavior. Match 2: Suge Wallace vs Local Competitor Rating:24 Due to a shortage of workers tonight a local man from the area filled in to wrestle Suge Wallace. The man did not last long against the far superior Wallace. Wallace gave the man a hand up and walked off with him, getting the crowd to cheer him. A few fans asked Wallace about Jack, and all he said was “I’ve got no time for boys talking. If he wants to meet me like a man, tell him I’m right here.” Match 3: Agent Morris vs the Chicago Mangler Rating: 25 Agent Morris uses his impressive athleticism to keep the giant off balance for a few hits, getting the giant set up for his finish. As Morris was about to hit the Cashout a commotion was being caused in the crowd as a previously hidden Magic Cat revealed himself. Cat stood still at Morris who looked perplexed why the odd man was here. The momentary distraction let the Mangler hit a powerslam on Morris for and toss the grounded fighter from one side of the ring to the other, getting a few twoo counts. Morris eventually was able to counter a slam into a small package for the victory. Magic Cat had disappeared after the end of the match. Match 4: America’s Odd Couple & vs Dallas Death Squad & Rating: 27 The two Texans were out first coming out to boos from the crowd after they’re attack on their opponents last month. Goony leading the way with a taped back and Lazareth right behind him. The teams nearly came to blows before the bell, only the ref stopping them from ruining the match up. The match was hard hitting and back and forth for the first minutes until Eli Thatcher whipped Goony into a corner and distracted the ref, allowing Uriah to nail a shot into Chuck’s injured back. The Texans dominated from then on, with a couple of close calls for Goony getting the tag until finally Lazareth got the hot tag to knock Uriah around. His comeback would be stopped when Eli came in and lifted Lazareth above his head and tossed him over the top rope to the floor. This led to a disqualification and medical to come and check on the Louisianan to get checked on as the Eli and Uriah were led backstage, yelling to themselves that no one can handle their intensity. Match 5: The Fighting Irish & vs Rules of Tradition & Rating: 44 The Fighting Irish came out looking mean as both had suffered losses last week in less-than-ideal circumstances, it seemed they wanted to punish their opponents since they couldn’t get at Patterson or Humble in matches tonight. Threepwood and Tubbs thoroughly dominated the match using quick tags and underhanded tactics to isolate Elliers and target his neck and back, stretching him with the ropes, or using closed fists when the ref would pull one member off of Jesse. Jeff was able to get tagged in eventually when the ref caught on to the Irish’s cheating and threatened to disqualify them. He was able to hit a few shoulder tackles on Tubbs before missing a charge into the Irish's corner, going shoulder first into the corner and getting his head kicked against the post. This allowed the men to hit Emerald City Limits and Threepwood could get the win. Match 6: Sin Machine & vs Skulls of Darkness & Midwest Tag Team Title match Rating: 30 This rematch was very similar to last time. Sin Machine dominated their smaller opponents with constant tagging and isolated Skullface. The difference from the last match came in the deciding moments. Instead of knocking Skullface into the crowd, Malone caught the smaller man and slammed him. The two large men then cleared out Lord Darkmoore and hit a Soul Extraction on Skullface for the three. The new champs celebrated by dumping Skullface over the top rope and onto the floor. Darkmore ran to help his partner as the big men gloated with boos raining down. The tag division may be experiencing the beginning of a dominant run. Match 7: Marcus English vs Lazy Joe Indiana Title match Rating: 24 The insomniac was unable to defeat the Indiana title holder as English used his speed and grappling skill to knock the bigger man down and hit a La Magistral pin combination a few minutes into the match. Match 8: Agent Patterson vs Harvey Humble Midwest Title match (all matches are 2 out of 3 falls) Rating: 35 The challenger came out first as Harvey Humble entered the arena. He looked slimmed down, it seemed he had trained on his stamina for this match. Agent Patterson came down next. He had changed as well, building more muscle to make up for his opponent’s size advantage. Both men gave each other a handshake after the entrances and referee introduction were concluded, both men were prepared for a sporting battle. The match went fifteen minutes before the first fall was secured, both men having trouble securing dominant position. Harvey, while being a little lighter, was able to use his size to lock in bear hugs and hit corner crushes to knock his smaller opponent to the mat. Patterson would get up in pain before the human cannonball was able to squash him on the floor with a splash. He would then use his added strength to force Harvey into a series of holds that weaker men could never put the big man in. Eventually Harvey was able to crush Patterson with his Humblebrag splash after a counter of a suplex and secured a pin. The next fall came quickly as Harvey attempted to hit another corner splash after the match resumed, but Patterson was able to dodge, causing Harvey to fly too far and hit headfirst into the post. The champion was then able to use an O’Connor roll to quickly even up the match. Patterson and Harvey were getting prepared for the final stage of the match when three men came from different directions. Two of the men attacked Harvey and toss him into the ring post before wrenching his arms with assistance from the ropes. The expertise in which they locked in double holds led commentary to see that Crockett Tubbs and Conner Threepwood were the ones causing Humble to scream in pain. The third man low-blowed the champion and then hit a move that identified him quickly. Mark Crane made the champion crash face first with his Unprettier, leaving him unconscious. This caused the referee to throw the match out due to both men being too badly beaten to continue. Referees attempted to remove the three men, but they had little ability to stop the three combatants. Agent Morris ran in with American Gold (Marcus English and Maliek Chamberlain), all of them soaking wet due to having been in the showers, to chase the men off eventually. The show ended with Harvey and Patterson being tended to, and officials trying to calm everyone down. Final Show rating: 34 Sorry for the delay. MWO has learned that medical staff and management of HSPW have determined that Harvey Humble and Agent Patterson will be unable to compete at HSPW's next show, Back Home in Indiana. and that the Fighting Irish and Mark Crane will be forced to compete in a match against Agent Morris and American Gold. Other News MWO has gotten confirmation from HSPW that the card for Back Home in Indiana has been finalized. HSPW has given first permission to MWO to release the match card and it will be listed at the bottom of the report. HSPW has announced that they will be leaving the state of Indiana for the first time with three different shows. There will be a show in Chicago in April, a show in Milwaukee in August, and a show in Detroit in December. Recent sightings of Uriah Sands say that he has gained considerable size in the last few months and that Stuart Ferdinand has become impressed with his dedication to improving himself. (His Star Power went from 64 to 74 in two months from size and shape changes) Rumors swirl around that HSPW is looking at bringing in multiple enhancement talent to work with their very inexperienced wrestlers who often have multiple instances dangerous in ring behaviors in every match. This along with lacking psychology and consistent quality in the younger talent has led to some evenings feeling closer to a trampoline fed than an actual professional wrestling company. Thank you for making the mod, it's pretty much the only thing I play on TEW anymore due to how much it adds, especially in the less used regions and smaller companies. Wallace came soon after, cutting off Jack’s posing session in the ring. Jack took time to talk smack to Wallace his entire way up to the ring, running from the ring when Wallace took a few fast steps towards him. After both men reentered the ring the match began. Wallace quickly was able to get a few shoulder tackles and knock Jack to the ground, mocking his earlier poses for a few seconds, before yelling at him to get up. This incensed Jack, who drew Wallace to the corner before ducking out and used a closed on Wallace behind the ref’s back. Jack’s control after the cheap shot lasted for a while, as he tied up Wallace in a few submissions, with help from the ropes, to target Wallace’s legs. Jack was finally caught by the ref as he noticed the ropes shaking from his constant usage. He talked the ref out of a disqualification, but had left Wallace enough time to get a second wind. Wallace was able to lay in some hard clotheslines and a jumping back elbow to knock Jack down. Jack, feeling like he was going to lose, tried to run around the outside for a few seconds. This backfired as Wallace was able to reach outside the ring and drag him back in. Jack tried to hit another cheap punch behind the ref’s back, but it was blocked and met with one of the loudest smacks this side of the Wabash River. Wallace then took advantage of the now loopy Jack to hit his Lifting DDT, spinning them in a full three-sixty degree turn to finally end the match. Angle 1: Post Match Attack by Jack Pryde Rating: 32 Jack came to after a few moments, his body resting in a corner with Suge Wallace celebrating with the fans. Jack became enraged at the realization he had lost. He got up and rushed to hit a massive shot to the back of Wallace’s head. Wallace went down with his head on the bottom rope, he was completely dazed as Jack stood on his neck using the rope to choke him. The referee in the match attempted to pull the men apart, but Jack held his choke for a little longer before letting up and getting out of the ring. He pulled Wallace on his shoulders in a powerslam position and ran the man who beat him into the ring post head first, creating a loud thud sound. This attack left Wallace with a bloody face as a few kids screamed at the noise his skull had made hitting the post. Jack finally let up on the beating, but he stood there berating Wallace and the official. Jack repeatedly mimed about Wallace cheap-shotting him, pointedly ignoring the fact that he had done the same thing, and called the ref incompetent in a way everyone could hear him. He was escorted away as he continued to say he had been cheated by the referee. Wallace eventually woke up and was able to walk away with assistance from the medical team, being led out to a cheering arena. Match 2: Dallas Death Squad (DDS) & vs America’s Odd Couple & Rating: 28 These teams were clashing for the third time in as many months, and there had been some bad feeling built from the last two encounters. The attacks by DDS had left their opponents with injuries, a bad back for Goony and a hurt shoulder on Lazareth after he was tossed from the ring. Due to all this pent up anger The Odd Couple came out hot, Lazareth tossing his beads out into the crowd instead of gently handing them out as both teams nearly started a fight before the bell, only the announcer and ref mentioning fines and suspensions stopping the four men. Lazareth and Eli were going to start the match, but the man who had caused the most damage to the Odd Couple immediately tagged in his much larger partner. Eli left the ring with a smirk on his face. Lazareth called him a coward as he faced the two-hundred and sixty pound man now entering the ring. The big Texan used his power to shove Lazareth onto the ground after a few lock up attempts, overpowering his opponent until the New Orleans native used a clever trip to make Uriah stumble and use the distance to dropkick him in the back to the outside of the ring. When Uriah reentered the ring he tried to use a big clothesline to regain the advantage, but it was dodged and he was hit with a running forearm. Uriah did not go down, using his will and strength to stay standing he tried another clothesline, missing again he lured Fontaine into trying a crossbody this time. He caught the Louisianan and tossed him with a Fall Away Slam towards DDS’s corner. Fontaine climbed up the corner with his arm hanging, seemingly having tweaked his shoulder again. Eli finally entered the match at this point, happy with how his opponent had been beaten. Thatcher slowly entered the ring and hit a gut kick as Sands held Lazareth up for him. He gloated above his opponent as he stomped him in the corner. He slowly backed his way across the ring to get a run up for a corner move before suddenly turning and slapping Chuck Goony right in the face. The enraged Goony tried to storm the ring but was held by the ref, this allowed Eli to go back to his side and punch Chuck’s partner three times in the face. Fontaine went down from this clutching his face as Eli tried to pin him to boos. The smaller Texan was a bit too lazy in his pin as Lazareth got his shoulder up at one. The annoyed Thatcher got Fontaine back up and got ready to try another corner strike when Lazareth moved at the last-minute leaving Eli to go chest first into the corner. Goony stomped on the ring steps and wildly reached as his partner crawled his way towards him, until progress was stopped by the freshly tagged in Uriah who grabbed Fontaine’s leg. Fontaine was able to get back to one leg and when he was pulled to Uriah, he used the momentum to jump and knee the big man in the head. As Sands stumbled backwards Fontaine was able to finally tag in Chuck. The Redneck came in on fire, chopping and forearming the big Texan until he was pushed off and kicked in the stomach. Uriah got ready to suplex Goony, but the attempt was stopped when Goony floated over and ran the ropes to disorient Sands, eventually spinning him into a Snap German suplex for a two. The match came to an end after Uriah countered a corner charge into a Exploder suplex into the corner, hitting Goony back first into the turnbuckle. Goony tried to recover but as he got up Uriah whipped him into DDS’s corner where Eli held Chuck so Sands could deliver shots to their opponent’s injured back. Fontaine tried to go over and help, but the ref stopped him. This allowed Sands to toss Goony outside where Eli smashed him back first into the steps. Goony was unable to get back up as he got counted out while scrambling to get back in the ring. Eli celebrated as if he had just won the world title running around waving his arms, only stopping to hobble a little while holding his back when he passed Goony as Lazareth checked on him. Uriah just stood in the ring cracking his neck, the man wasn’t the gloating type it seems. Goony had to be stretchered out as medical staff checked on him. Match 3: Magic Cat vs Egon Merowitz Rating: 23 Egon started the match using his strength to match up with Cat in a lock up. Egon found himself unable to move the bulky man who seemed to match him in power. Egon broke the hold and used the ropes to try and charge Cat down, but when his shoulder hit he was shocked he found himself almost bouncing back. Cat took advantage of this moment to lock in a Belly-to-Belly suplex and launch Egon. Egon came down hard and was forced into the corner by Cat who tried to choke his opponent until the referee stopped him. Unable to choke out Egon, Cat started stomping on him and leaning his considerable weight on his opponent in the corner. Egon began to recover from the suplex and the next time Cat tried to stomp him he caught the leg and stood up. He captured the leg and used the leverage to start chopping and hitting forearms. A final hit that left Cat groggy allowed Egon to try hitting running shoulder blocks again, with Cat teetering after each one. Egon got the crowd pumped as he held up his fist, signaling for the finish. Egon hit the ropes and spun to hit his Roaring Back Fist, but at the last second Magic Cat ducked and left an opening on the off balance Merowitz. He quickly locked in a devastating Sleep Hold, lifting Egon off his feet, (a keen viewer would notice that Magic Cat had backed up to the ropes and had used them to get the needed leverage to accomplish the feat), as the New Yorker’s struggles faded. The referee eventually lifted Egon’s arm three times and found him unconscious. Cat held on for a few moments after the bell before releasing him. Match 4: Sin Machine & vs Rules of Tradition & Midwestern Tag Team Title Rating:30 Sin Machine cleaned out their opponents in no time, a few scoop slams and a Soul Extraction (double powerbomb) knocked off their opponents in their first defense. Match 5: Mark Crane and The Fighting Irish & vs Agent Morris and American Gold & Rating:40 Agent Patterson came out to sit in the front row to support his teammate since he was not cleared to compete tonight. Crane and his partners came out taunting him from the middle of the ring, knowing he couldn’t touch them tonight. Morris and American Gold sent the heels scattering before the bell, none of them wanted to be the first target of Morris’s anger at his partner’s beati mg last month. Eventually officials were able to calm the faces and the match started with Marcus English and Mark Crane. English and Crane had a back and forth for a while with English getting advantage of most lockups. Crane eventually got tired of getting held on the ground and got the two men locked on the ropes, when the ref went to pull them apart he pulled English neck first into the top rope. The referee immediately started to chew out a begging Crane, who was distracting him from Tubbs coming over and kicking Marcus in the back of the head. After Crane convinced the ref to not end the match he tried to pin Marcus, but the Indiana Champion wouldn’t be put down that easily as he kicked out at two. Crane and the Irish took turns working on English’s neck for a few minutes until Threepwood got caught coming off the ropes with a back body drop. English used this opportunity to tag in Maliek who leaped into the ring over the top rope and started hitting clotheslines on Threepwood before using a Spinebuster to get a two. After the kick out Connor rolled to a neutral corner and pulled the turnbuckle down. The ref noticed this and warned him as he fixed it. While the official had his back turned, Threepwood used the chance to thumb Maliek in the eye. This left him temporarily blind, and Connor locked in an Abdominal Stretch. Threepwood tried using the ropes to help him, but the referee noticed the ropes bouncing and admonished him. The distraction allowed Maliek to force his way out of the hold and hit a hip toss. Unfortunately they had been close to the heel side of the ring and Connor quickly tagged in Crockett Tubbs who hit a Chop Block on his younger opponent’s right leg. Crockett used a pair of Dragon Screws to do more damage to Chamberlain’s leg. The three heels again took control of the match by targeting Maliek’s leg, stopping him everytime he tried to fight back. Eventually the young man was backed into a corner against Crane and was able to counter the narcissist who was posing on top of him and taunting both Agents of Change by pushing his feet and making him go face first into the turnbuckle. Maliek tried to crawl for his corner but was caught by Crane. Crane looked like he was going to hit a third Dragon Screw, but Maliek hit a massive Enziguri to hit the “Vain” man right in the face. During this time Morris was reaching as hard and whipping the crowd into a frenzy as much as he could being the freshest on his team and wanting to get vengeance on Crane. Crane realized who was about to get in the ring and ran for Crockett Tubbs, who tagged in the exact same time as Morris. Morris came in like a wrecking ball and ran through Crockett’s off balance clothesline attempt and hit his own that floored Tubbs. Morris did this two more time before going to hit Tubbs’s partners for their part in taking out Patterson. He only succeeded in hitting Threepwood as Crane dropped off the apron. Turning around Morris dodged a wild kick from Tubbs and hit him with a Cashout (Backdrop Driver). The ref was going to count three but at the last second Mark Crane broke the pin up. Morris stood up enraged and grabbed Crane and threw him from the ring onto his ass right in front of Patterson and some cheering fans. Morris tagged in English to finish off the Fighting Irish as American Gold took turns knocking around Tubbs. Crane saw that his team were on the ropes and took drastic measures. He punched Patterson square in the face and baited Morris to chase after him. Morris took the bait and started punching Crane outside the ring. The officials stopped him from getting any farther, but Tubbs was able to low blow English and make his way slowly back to his side of the ring. When the ref reentered the ring Tubbs was able to convince the admittedly lax official that English crotched himself. This led to Threepwood and Maliek coming back into the ring, with Maliek still favoring his leg. The match finally ended when a commotion happened at ringside, Magic Cat had appeared from the crowd and Patterson locked into his Sleeper Hold and was dragging him towards an exit. A few surprisingly large and muscular “fans” and a few officials tried to stop the crazy man, but he responded by clawing and biting at everyone who tried to stop him. Morris finally noticed what was happening and sprinted off after them. While this happened American Gold were caught in a two vs three. Crane had snuck around to the otherside of the ring and pulled English off the apron in a way that sent him face first into the steps, knocking him out. Maliek tried to put up a fight, but no man could win alone against this band of cheats. He clattered Crane off the apron but turned around into a Tubbs head kick and was set up for the Fighting Irish’s finish. One Emerald City Limits (STO/Russian Leg Sweep combo) later and that was it. Morris had come back with a groggy Patterson, he had run off Magic Cat, to witness Threepwood making the pin. He cursed out the three men in the ring and checked on his partners for the match. The heels stood there celebrating in the ring as the show came to a close. Angle 2: Harvey Humble Interview Rating: 42 Harvey Humble is displayed meeting with the local podcaster’s show that Jack Pryde had gone on and had his tirade about Suge Wallace. Humble is revealed to still have some damage in his arms, barely able to lift them to level height. He spends the first part of the interview saying how much he appreciated the fans and that he was sorry that those “two sorry sons of b*****s” had taken away his chance to give the people a great match at the last event. The latter half of the interview has Humble has him say that if he is able to make it to the next event at Validation at Victory field that he will be asking for a chance to deal with Crockett Tubbs for being a “loathsome b*****d” who had to hit him from behind and with help. He gets deadly serious and says that if the Fighting Irish had a problem with him, they’ll get a chance to talk it out with him as he recovers, but if he hears nothing then he knows that the two of them are complete cowards that he’ll need to deal with them in a less friendly way. OOC: Another show done. I'm probably going to get 1-2 more shows this month. I try to make the currently less important parts of the show, (Tag Team Titles), interesting but the current top tag teams are all locked around the singles titles and what's left over needs to be built up as the Skulls of Darkness and Sin Machine are average at best. I don't know if I'll really be able to get the really good teams back into the tag title side until the after half of the year. On the plus side I feel like the storylines are progressing nicely. I'm pretty sure when I chose current roster and champions thst it would be a challenge making all the titles actually draw decent ratings and interest They're definitely one of the more long-term projects in the CVerse but I'm glad youre giving it a go! HSPW has made five signings, four are wrestlers and one is being brought in for an undisclosed role. We at MWO have been able to find the names of two of the new hires. The identities of the other three are being kept close to the chest with one being said to not be debuting until the show in Detroit in December. The first signing is Jules Night, he has been reported to have been brought in as an enhancement talent due to his impeccable basics and safety in the ring. The thinking seems to be that they hope he can help improve many of the roster's weaknesses in regard to in-ring work. The second signing is the veteran Hook Malone. He has been said to have worked hundreds of matches in his time on the Canadian independent scene, but MWO has been unable to find any who can remember ever seeing him wrestle. All who were interviewed say they got the vague impression of seeing him before, but none were able to remember a single detail about his involvement at shows. Malone is expected to fill the same role as Jules. This month of April will be the first time that HSPW will hold multiple shows. The aptly named “Wrecking the Windy City” will be held in Chicago on the third Friday of April. HSPW has been hinting that they hope the events outside of Indiana are going to become important in the region as the company grows outside of Indianapolis and Indiana proper. Before reaching Chicago HSPW will be having one more event in its home state called “Validation at Victory Field” where the match card has been released.
