bob neil
I'm considering buying either Total College Basketball or Total Pro Basketball. Which game is better? Responses would be greatly appreciated.
Scott Vibert
I prefer TCB but I also prefer College Basketball. In addition developer Gary Gorski has said he is planning on updating TPB prior to the next update of TCB:
absolutely I will - I'll be doing a pro bball game before college though since the college is newer.
bookerman
I prefer drafting and trading players to recruitment, so the Pro game is for me. If you stink in college, it's harder to make your team better. If you stink in the pros, at least you have a chance to improve via the draft. Bryan Swartz
Interestingly, that's the exact reason why I prefer the college game: it's much harder to win. To each his own. The college game has more open-ended possibilities though -- any pro team can be made a winner within five years or less. In college, you have to build a program -- you can take a better team if you don't want it to take that long. And of course there is a much broader spectrum of opponents. bookerman
I get attached to players and hate to see them leave early. It is more satisfying to me to watch a guy grow over 8-10 years instead of 2-4.
Bryan Swartz
Get both and import them into the pro game. Then you can watch them grow for 10-14 years :).
Wundah
For some reasons I don' think either game is worth 34 dollars. I want to get both of them due to the fact that I don't like seein' my freshmen leavin school after just one year. If I could get Total Pro Basketball for free, that'll really make me a happy camper. La Tulipe
Hello, Just a late answer to say I just use TBP, and I really please with this game, I like to play from 1977 to nowdays with real players.... Just a complain : It is too easy to win, but I think if it will be too difficult to win I will not play any more...

still71
I enjoy both a lot, and use both TCP and TPB together (importing draft classes from TCP into TPB. That's the way to go if you enjoy both.
