Ok a few housekeeping things:

Yes, NXT is retired. WCW is here. But as you can see with the black and gold WCW logo, the new WCW will also honor the legacy of NXT as well as the past WCW. And that will be revealed in more ways later.

I will be running and writing WCW, I will also be the chief graphics person for the project going forward. Piper's Pit will be running the "main roster" going forward.

We hope you guys enjoy this new ride!

The Women’s World Champion comes out to the ring. She says that she should be here celebrating because at WrestleMania, she proved yet again that Mami is always on top. But last week she lost her family. Finn, Priest, her Dom Dom. But now the onus is on her and the spotlight is on her. So take a long look because she will hold this title for a long, long…….

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Becky Lynch comes down to the ring and says that everyone in the world knows that the only reason Rhea is holding Becky’s title is because she was literally handcuffed by that no good……

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stephanie McMahon walks down to the ring telling Becky to watch her mouth. Stephanie enters and says that as always, what she did in Philadelphia was what was best for business. Becky demands that she be given a rematch right here, right now, expressing her rematch clause, but Stephanie says that she is striking that clause. In fact, Becky needs to learn a little humility. That means, effective immediately, Becky Lynch is at the back of the line.

 

Becky is irate and is doing everything in her power not to hit the Managing Director. However her focus on McMahon means she doesn’t see Rhea close the distance quickly, and hit Becky in the side of the head with the belt. 

 

Becky is down and stunned as Rhea and Stephanie leave the ring together.

 

 

 

A replay is shown of the opening segment ending in Ripley’s attack on Lynch.

 

 

 

Nikki attacks Natalya before the bell on her way to the ring and brutalizes her for several minutes. Natalya stages a comeback, but it falls short and Nikki puts her away with a swinging fisherman suplex which Graves refers to as the Purge.

Backstage Cathy Kelley is with Sami Zayn. She asks him why he turned his back on his best friend Kevin Owens at WrestleMania. Sami says Owens deserved it. He made their entire tag team championship about him. About who he wanted to fight. About his need to always put himself first. Sami is the victim here. He had to sacrifice his championship to teach Kevin a lesson and now he’s free to go after his own goals. In fact, he feels about two hundred and sixty pounds lighter.

 

 

 

Backstage, the Creeds are warming up for their debut match when Chad Gable approaches. He welcomes them to RAW and says he can’t wait to see what they can do. They thank him and head through the curtain. They are in action…..next!

 

 

 

Against some local competition, the Creeds show off their athletic ability, technical skills, power moves, and tag chemistry. After a few minutes of domination, they lift one opponent up on their shoulders like the DoomsDay Device, but instead of a clothesline, Brutus cannonballs into the opponent as Julius falls back. Graves refers to it as the Medicine Ball.

Ronda Rousey and Shanya Baszler are talking in their locker room when Sonya Deville walks in. She says she has some business to discuss with them and closes the door, cutting off our view of the scene.

 

 

 

Montez Ford has arrived on RAW and is greeted by the New Day. As they exchange greetings, the OC walks past.

 

 

AJ and the Good Brothers begin to mock the trio, with AJ telling them to get a room. Ford says they don’t need one, they have a ring. AJ nods with a smirk, saying they’ll see them later.

 

 

 

Kelly makes her debut on the main roster in devastating fashion. Candice gets in little to no offense as Kelly relies on strikes to keep her off balance before hitting a big bicycle kick straight to the chest which puts Candice down for good.

Matt Riddle is walking backstage. After the break he’ll be the guest on another edition of Miz TV

 

 

 

The Miz is joined by his wife Maryse in the ring. He welcomes everyone back to MizTV and says his guest tonight is the man who beat the Viper Randy Orton at WrestleMania. Without further ado, he introduced Matt Riddle.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Riddle comes down to the ring and it isn’t long before he and the Miz are arguing after several verbal cheap shots by the host. Just as Riddle looks like he’s had enough, Maryse steps in between Riddle and her husband. Riddle tells the Miz to stop hiding behind his wife. 

 

As the argument goes on, Riddle doesn’t see who’s coming into the ring.

 

 

Bronson Reed comes in behind Riddle and charges him from behind. Miz grabs Maryse and gets her out of the way. Riddle is completely caught off guard as Reed barrels into him. His instinct is to get up and fight but Reed is ready for that and stuns him with several forearms to the head. With Riddle backed into the corner, Reed crushes him with a running splash, followed by a heavy elbow drop. 

 

Reed has a wild look in his eyes as he goes to the top and falls off with a Tsunami. Riddle clutches his ribs as Reed leaves the ring. Miz and Mayrse join him as officials tend to Riddle.

Benjamin is one of the best of his generation but Hammerstone represents the future and he uses a combination of power moves to wear down Benjamin before putting him up in the Torture Rack for a quick submission.

Backstage we see the Brand gathered around a monitor watching Hammerstone celebrate his first win. They all seem to be nodding their heads as they make quiet remarks to one another.

 

 

 

Michael Cole tells us that by order of the Managing Director, next week we’ll see the Man Becky Lynch go one on one with Tamina.

 

 

 

A solid but unspectacular match between these two teams. It goes back and forth for a bit until Fyre gets a blind tag and drops Chance with enzuguri. With Chance on her knees, Isla tags back in and hits a form of the fameasser for the win.

Corey Graves reminds us that still to come, new World Heavyweight Champion Gunther will address us.

A solid match that shows chemistry on both sides. Woods is isolated for several minutes until he gets the hot tag to Kofi. New Day shows their fast paced and smooth tag offense with Kofi hitting Anderson with Trouble in Paradise. Ford tags in and hits the frog splash off the top for the win as New Day keeps Styles and Gallows from breaking it up.

 

RESULT:  MONTEZ FORD AND THE NEW DAY WIN BY PINFALL

 

 

 

The new World Heavyweight Champion comes down to the ring. He says he did what he promised to do at WrestleMania. He ended the proud career of John Cena. He took this title, and he will do for it, what he did for the Intercontinental Championship. However, if he is to remold RAW in his own image he cannot do it alone. No, a general needs an army. And that is what he will do. He will build an army around him, and not a weak American version, or even worse, Canadian. (heavy boos) He will build a strong European army, and he will ensure that he will never lose this title.

 

He stands tall in the ring and holds up the belt as the crowd continues to boo. Cole and Graves thank us for watching and encourage us to come back next week for more Monday Night RAW.

“A lot of people have been wondering just what in the hell happened and how this came about. And before I give some of those answers, we need to go back to last fall. 

When WWE approached me to become the Managing Director of Raw after Wrestlemania last year, I never could’ve predicted that we would be here one year later. But in this business, expect the unexpected. 

After a massively successful spring and summer, I was excited to lead Raw into Wrestlemania season, until that was taken away from me by Triple H. So that he could give the job to his wife. Because that’s not at all nepotism, right?

I went back to my podcast and I was content to have my journey be done…..about 6 or 7 weeks later, just after Thanksgiving, I get a phone call from Hunter asking me if I would still want to be part of the “family” in some way. 

Initially I thought, go screw yourself man. But then he explained their reasoning for why Stephanie was right for Raw and then he laid out his plan for me to take full control of NXT. He laid out a plan that said that I would have full control to leave a legacy here. Run the company however I see fit. He was offering me, in effect, the chance to be a boss again - only this time I did not have to answer to a board like I did on Raw or in the previous WCW. 

That was attractive to me, so we began to talk. And what became clear to me was that NXT had run its course. So I told Hunter that if this place was to stand out, it needed a wholesale change. To be honest, I don’t remember who pitched the idea of me having ownership of WCW once more, but some point along the way, that became part of the negotiation for my return. And eventually everyone agreed. 

And that brings us to tonight. I have effective ownership of all things related to WCW and to this company. And we work in partnership, a true partnership, with WWE so from time to time you may see some WWE people here. And you may see some WCW people up in WWE. And when contracts end, each company gets first crack at the other’s."

WCW NITRO RETURNS?

4 nights ago on NXT Saturday Special, it was revealed that was the last night of the black and gold brand. As if that was not shocking enough, we saw the debut of Jay White who captured the NXT Championship in the final match of NXT. And if those were not shocking enough, ERIC BISCHOFF surprised the world when he walked out into the arena and proclaimed that while NXT was ending, WCW (yes, *that* WCW) was returning. And that a relaunched Nitro will premiere on USA on Wednesday nights.

HUH?

Apparently Nitro is back. What is going to happen? Who the hell knows!

We hope to have answers on the premiere episode of WCW Nitro this Wednesday 8/7c on USA!

The new WCW Nitro open is the classic WCW exploding city open for Nitro, but featured in are stars like Chase U, Trish Stratus, Will “Powerhouse Hobbs” and ends with Jay White as the featured building. The opening logo is presented in the same style as the original Nitro logo but with the new WCW logo and the new Nitro Logo and USA logo replacing TNT. 

 

We then go into the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, NC and get our first look at the new Nitro entrance:

Pyro explodes as Byron Saxton welcomes us to the show and then welcomes back “home” Nigel McGuinness. Nigel says that NXT was WCW’s spiritual successor and he was proud to be a voice of NXT, and now that WCW has returned, Nigel is equally excited to be a voice every week for World Championship Wrestling. They bring home that this is a new era. WCW has returned to the airwaves and the company is reborn. Both announcers spend time thanking Triple H, Shawn Michales and Bruce Prichard for the legacy of NXT. And they are honored to keep that tradition alive, as well as the tradition of the OG WCW, as Wednesday nights now belong to Nitro. 

 

 

Eric Bischoff comes out to the ring and he is donning his traditional black biker jacket and pulls a mic from his pocket. 

 

“I know people are sitting here in the audience or watching on their couch and they’d asking themselves, did I fall asleep and wake up in 2001? The truth is that this is not 2001 and in the last two decades the wrestling business has changed, I have changed and WWE has changed. This company is not the enemy of Stamford any longer, that “war” is long since passed. What stands now is the future. A place that embraces both the past of NXT and the past of the original WCW. And a place that charts a new course with the stars of tomorrow. I have been given the honor of charting this new course as the owner of WCW.

Another thing that has changed is that I will not be the “showrunner” of Nitro per se. I will be working to lead the day to day of WCW as a whole, but that means we need a point man. A boss for the roster to answer to, with my full authority, each and every week here on Nitro and on our future pay-per-view events…..A CEO.

And I have found the perfect man. Someone synonymous with both WCW and with WWE. Hell, he’s even got a history with NXT. He’s respected, he’s fair, he’s a leader.

So, lets bring out the new CEO of World Championship Wrestling”

 

 

 

Charlotte, who knows JR very well, is on their feet as the WWE Hall of Famer has made his return home to WCW! He has a tear in his eye as he carries something in a bag and walks down to the ring.

Bischoff is in the ring and shakes JR’s hand and then gives him a hug. He says “Charlotte, I give you the boss.” 

 

And then Bischoff takes his leave as the new CEO of WCW addresses North Carolina. 

 

“Wow! Thank you, everybody! You’ve done this Okie proud tonight. And I am so happy to be home. I am here for a few reasons tonight, and that isn’t to give a long speech. That’s not my style, that isn’t what this company will be about either. 

 

WCW will be embracing its past and more information for that will come in the coming weeks, but as Eric said, we’re also about the future. To that end both of these goals will be met right now.

Please bring out the NXT Champion Jay White”

 

 

The new NXT Champion comes out to the ring and JR shakes his hand. JR says that NXT is retired, which means Jay White stood as the best of NXT in the end. That championship is something to be proud of, but so is this. 

JR reveals:

“While Raw may have a version of this title, this is the OG belt. THE richest prize in this industry. And it is the championship of Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Sting, Hollywood Hogan, DDP, Goldberg, Ricky Steamboat, the Macho Man Randy Savage, just to name a few. It is the championship of World Championship Wrestling.

And now, it’s the belt of Jay White. Because the NXT Title is retired. And in its place is the NEW WCW Championship. 

 

And that title will be on the line tonight, because Jay has assured me that he will be a fighting champion. So, champ go get ready. In our main event tonight, you will defend this belt against…Shinsuke Nakamura.”

Jay White takes the title with reverence and raises it high in the air as he leaves.

JR says “there will be more changes to come, but one is about to happen. WCW is about legacy and tradition and history. Well, we are about to have the debut of a legacy member of WCW. And that person will be here, in the ring, after this commercial break.

Post match, Kelly Kincaid is in the aisle and pulls Tessa as she walks up the entrance. Kelly asks Tessa for her thoughts on joining WCW. Tessa says that coming here just made sense. It’s home for her and her family. She points out that she’s a “WCW Legacy” wrestler. She knows that she is “controversial”, but so was her dad. All that matters is winning and that means the WCW Women’s Championship. So, Trish…have eyes in the back of your head because one day, that title is mine. 

Because diamonds are forever…and so are the Blanchards.

A vignette airs of the French Riviera, lavish homes, beautiful women in skimpy bikinis and overlooking it all, from a massive pool is Charles Mason.

Charles Mason tells us that some may call him a billionaire playboy, but while he does appreciate the finer things in life, he also has a competitive streak. And one day, very soon, he will make his mark in WCW. And bring the finer life to you all.

They say that this is a new time and indeed a new company, but they are the WCW Tag Team Champions which means they are the best tag team in this world. And no matter who is here now, or who comes soon, Cogar & Page will remain champions.

Kelly Kincaid is at the Nitro entrance and with an almost fake smile, she tells us that she is overjoyed to announce the newest member of the WCW broadcast team, who will share interview duties with her. Please welcome home……Renee Young. 

 

 The crowd cheers as Renee hugs Kelly who looks a little stiff but then smiles and takes her leave. Renee says it is so great to be here and now lets get to work and bring out my guest at this time, the new WCW North American Champion, Joe Coffey.

 

 

 The new WCW North American Champion (which the announcers say is being kept in respect to NXT) as well as his brother and their partner Wolfgang to form Gallus come out and cut a promo about how the more things change, the more they stay the same. Gallus ran NXT UK and then Gallus ran NXT and Gallus will now run roughshod over WCW. Before Coffey can continue, someone interrupts them


Dragon Lee comes out and congratulates Coffey on “winning” the title. He must be so proud to have his goons give him a title. But here is a challenge man-to-man, leave the girls in the back and defend the title right now like a man. 

Coffey laughs and says, uh no. First of all, Lee is literally half the man that the champ is. And secondly, if he wants a shot at this title…earn it. If Dragon Lee can beat Wolfgang, he will get a shot.
 

Lee reponds by smirking and then SMACKING WOLFGANG. Everyone is stunned and before Gallus can do anything, officials flood the entrance set and keep everyone at bay.

I guess Dragon Lee has accepted Joe Coffey’s counter offer and a match with Wolfgang is in the near future!

We go to the announcers at ringside who put over tonight's show and then look to next week. We've already had a legacy debut tonight in Tessa Blanchard, next week we will have another one. The son of the late-great Brian Pillman, WCW's own, will continue his father's legacy as Brian Pillman, Jr. makes his WCW debut. The new WCW Women’s Champion, Trish Stratus will make her first appearance on Nitro next week. And the WCW Tag Team Champions, Atticus Cogar & Ethan Page, who earlier tonight said that they will defend their titles against anyone,  will defend their championships against Jim Ross' newest acquisition for WCW. Who is that team? We shall learn next week.

But now we turn to our main event. New WCW Champion Jay White is ready and so is his challenger, Shinsuke Nakamura. When we come back it's time for the WCW Tit.....

Suddenly, there is a commotion in the crowd and the announcers take note of it when, suddenly this man

 

 

Walks down steps and finds a seat about a middle of the way up the crowd on the hard camera side.

 

 Byron and Nigel whisper to each other as if their mic was cut "MJF?" and the live shot quickly ends and Nitro goes to commercial.

Following the match, in a rare show of respect, Shinsuke Nakamura goes up to the champ who is celebrating and shakes his hand. White is distrustful, but does so and then Shinsuke leaves the ring allowing the champ to have his moment. 

 

The first WCW title defense of The Switchblade is in the books and it was an epic encounter. Love him or hate him, Jay White clearly has the pedigree to become one of the greatest WCW Champions in history. Will he get there?

Come along on the journey as our champion leads the new WCW into the future.

Dawkins has a power advantage, but Aldis shows he can be a master technician as he breaks down Dawkins systematically. In his first match without his long time partner, Dawkins looks a little lost and it gets worse for him when Aldis puts on a textbook sleeper. When Dawkins can’t respond, the referee calls for the bell.

 

RESULT:  NICK ALDIS WINS BY STOPPAGE

 

 

 

We see Cody Rhodes walking backstage. The WWE Champion will be in the ring when we’re back from the commercial break.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The WWE Champion comes down to the ring and collects a microphone. He takes a moment before speaking. He says that when he won this title he knew the bullseye would be on his back. And after the draft when he saw all the wrestlers in the back he knew his life had just gotten that much harder, but he’d be a liar if he didn’t say he was caught off guard to end last week’s show. And that is on him, one hundred percent. He did not give Randy Orton, his old mentor, enough credit. He thought that for one week he’d be able to not look over his shoulder. That, is a mistake, he will not make again. 

 

He says if Randy Orton wanted his attention, he has it now. If he wants a fight, he’s not hard to find. And if he wants this title, then try to take it. But he worked too damn hard to be standing here in this ring holding this title and it’ll take more than one sneak attack to take it away!

 

 

 

Kayla Braxton is in gorilla with WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Bayley. They talk about his this is a new era on Smackdown, they’re era. It’s been too long since they were side by side and now everyone is going to learn to bow down, starting with Lyra Valkyria. They head through the curtain.

 

 

 

Lyra holds her own against Bayley in the early going. Then Charlotte gets involved.

 

 

The WWE Women’s Champion first serves as a distraction, before leveling Lyra with a chop on the outside behind the referee’s back. She rolls Valkyria back into the ring and Bayley picks the bones, ending the match with a Roseplant.

 

RESULT:  BAYLEY WINS BY PINFALL

 

 

 

Charlotte and Bayley aren’t done as they begin double teaming Lyra, stomping her but it doesn’t last long.

 

 

Kairi Sane runs down to the ring and stuns both with forearms. Bayley charges and Kairi holds down the rope and she tumbles out. Charlotte thinks twice and ditches to the outside. As they head back up the aisle, Kairi checks on Lyra.

 

 

 

The Bloodline, sans Roman Reigns, is in the Bloodline Lounge. Nobody is saying a word, they’re all seemingly lost. Slowly, Heyman goes to Naomi and quietly tells her that her match is next. She nods, stands, and walks out. Mauro comments that without Roman, they’re certainly not the same.

 

 

 

Raquel’s power is evident as she throws Naomi around in the early going and there isn’t much glow happening. That changes when Liv Morgan strolls down to the ring.

 

 

She instantly becomes a distraction to Raquel and as two argue, Naomi gets the opportunity she’s been waiting for. Naomi attacks Raquel from behind as Liv looks innocent. Naomi gets Raquel in place for a DDT but instead drops her face first, a move which Wade calls Fade to Black.

 

RESULT:  NAOMI WINS BY PINFALL

 

 

 

Liv walks back up the aisle with a big smile, very pleased in causing the loss for her former friend. As she passes the cameras she draws a tear down her cheek and tells Raquel to cry about it.

 

 

Kayla Braxton is joined by Intercontinental Champion Big E. He talks about how he misses his New Day brothers, but this is truly a new day for him and his championship. He will take on all comers and he will make the people proud of him and the title.

 

 

Rex Steiner and Maria Kanellis walk into the scene already laughing. Steiner says that is a promise that Big E will never be able to keep because that title is destined to come to him and it’s only a matter of time. He suggests Big E enjoy the ride because when he slaps on that Steiner Recliner, he’ll finish the job and put E in a wheelchair where he belongs.

 

They walk off laughing, but the champion stares him down as they leave.

 

 

 

Against some local competition, the Viking Raiders decimate their opponents. In a quick match, they show off their power for several minutes before ending it with “Stormbringer” which long-time fans would recognize as Hall of Famers’ Demolition’s finisher with Erik coming off the second rope with the elbow.

Santos Escobat and Cruz Del Toro are in their locker room. Santos says that he knows Rey is gone, and Zelina is gone, but the LWO still lives. It lives in the heart of both of them. But hearts alone won’t get the job done. And so he’s reached out to some brothers.

 

 

NXT Draftee Rush and veteran Carlito walk in. They both hug Santos, and give Cruz a handshake. Santos says with this new blood, the LWO under his leadership will grow bigger and better than ever. Cruz in the background looks a little uneasy.

 

 

 

 

 

In a pre-taped interview, LA Knight is in his locker room, angrily pacing. He says it was right here….right here in his hands and then it was ripped away by a seven foot-plus tall dumbass. Well, it’s real hard to hide a seven foot-plus dumbass and LA Knight wil find you, and I will do what should have been done a long time ago. Omos, I’m going to introduce you to some blunt force trauma and then all the people will let you know whose show this is. L-A-Knight! Yeah!

 

 

 

Knight is still as angry as he was in his quick promo vid and he takes it out on McDonagh, who is the victim of Knight’s offensive set of moves and barely gets in any offense before falling to the BFT.

In their locker room, the Judgment Day are trying to settle in, but it's not the same without Rhea Ripley. Dom is moping, saying he misses her but Finn brings him back to reality. Balor says things have changed but Judgment Day still exists and while it sucks to be without her, Rhea will run Monday Night Raw while they three of them take over Friday Night Smackdown. And that starts tonight when he beats Santos Escobar. The three agree as they exit the locker room.

 

 

 

We go to a vignette of Karrion Kross and Scarlett. She’s at her table with her tarot cards, giving Kross a reading.

 

“You know your fate is to destroy everyone in your path but you’ve grown frustrated by what you perceive as a lack of results.”

 

“So what do I do?”

 

She flips over the Death card.

 

“You must seek out a kindred spirit and double your efforts.”

 

She flips over another Death card.

 

Kross begins laughing maniacally as he picks up both cards.

A great match between two ring veterans. It goes back and forth with neither man getting a clear advantage. That’s when Priest and Dominik come down to ringside.

 

 

Priest gets the referee’s attention as Dominik begins to climb up onto the apron. But he never gets into the ring as the LWO hits ringside.

 

 

Rush gets into Priest’s face showing no fear, as Carlito grabs Dom and pulls him off the apron to the floor. This starts Rush and Priest to begin throwing right hands and soon Balor and Escobar are involved. Having lost all control the referee calls for the bell.

 

RESULT:  NO CONTEST

 

 

 

The brawl continues but from the numbers advantage the LWO is getting the best of Judgment Day who break off the fight and head to the back. As LWO claims the ring, it’s clear if the Judgment Day wants to run Smackdown they have to go through them first!
