KingofOldSchool
So, I know in 9 there is a Permanent Split and Broken Up, however there needs to be enhanced more. Not every relationship ends on bad terms to the point where I need to see a negative remark if I hire someone's ex. There needs to be options for "Permanent Split (Amicable)" and "Permanent Split (Bad Terms)". So, the relationship ended due to one person cheating, it would be Bad Terms that would cause negative backstage tension. However, if two people split on good terms, you won't have to worry about them working in the same company and they can even have the Friendship relationship trait. This would make romantic relationships in the game a little more true-to-life.
TheDeep5ix
If 2 people split in TEW IX on good terms, isn't that just them being Broken Up? From what I see in the game, there aren't any negative relationship effects from the Broken Up relationship. I assume Broken Up is the amicable split, Permanent Split is the terrible variety, and Divorced is self-explanatory. The TEW IX manual even states that Permanent Split is harsher than Broken Up. MisterSocko
For real life mods it has been said "officially" in the past (for previous versions) that for people who broke up but remained on neutral terms, you don't need to create a relationship at all, and that for those who actually remained friends, you create a "friendship" relationship, not a "divorced" or "split up" one. Oddly enough, the game doesn't treat it as an anomaly if you set a relationship that is both positive and negative (for example, I created a relationship between Gigi Dolin and Darby Allin that has both "Divorced" and "Mutual Respect"), but during gameplay it looks like it only takes the negative part into account (Gigi warned me against hiring Darby). So maybe that's something that could be fixed to simulate amicable splits: if you set 2 people as divorced but friends, the game could take both into account, so that they're on good terms but they're not likely to become a couple again (though that happens in real life obviously, but is rather uncommon).
