4C - working for a midget

Canadian Charisma Championship Combat What a year it was for fledgling Canadian wrestling promotion 4C. They witnessed a massive jump in popularity and under the booking skills of Joey Poison, there seemed to be no limits to what 4C could achieve. Over the last year Poison had developed his in ring talent to the point where he was the main draw for the promotion and became 4C champion. The problem was however, as the promotion grew in size, and as Poison became more and more important to the roster, his mental state suffered from stress. It was a difficult decision but Poison and owner Troy Winner decided a change was needed in the booking position, so Poison could focus on his wrestling career. This presented the promotion with a massive problem. In Poison they had over achieved, they couldn’t afford to sign a big name booker from Canada and found themselves in trouble. With the end of year showpiece, Do Or Die, approaching, they still had no head booker. Troy Winner decided that the need to get someone in place was so desperate that he needed to look in other contracts. Upon asking owners around the globe he received a glowing reference for English booker Andy Johnson. Johnson had gained a lot of respect when the Ring Of Fire head booker fell ill for a few months and AJ came in to help with the booking of shows which were a massive success. However when the ROF booker returned from illness, Johnson decided he didn’t want to share his role with another worker so left the promotion and had been unemployed ever since. Winner contacted Johnson with AJ and within days the paperwork had been signed and Johnson was the new head booker and that is the way it would remain, as long as the promotion wasn’t in debt in 671 days.

Problems with a major star Explain to me again why Alan Parent is a jobber at the moment? - Silence Ok, why’s Cal Sanders so far down the roster? - Silence Ok, a roster reshaping is in order then. – What? We’ll shake things up a bit you know. – I dunno if I like the sound of that Joey Poison and the new head booker Even though he wasn’t head booker anymore it was obvious that Joey Poison had a fairly big say in anything that was going to go down. This was a problem. He’s the star performer and he doesn’t want change. Despite his successes, it was obvious that at the end of his reign he was pushing the wrong people. In fact his only notable success was pushing himself so highly, damn he’s got talent. Can the promotion move forward with him though? Probably not but it was a situation that might have to be addressed in the very near future.

Change isn't always easy... Johnson and boss Troy Winner But it goes against everything I stand for… Troy, you brought me in under the prevision that I could make changes in this promotion. You saw what I did with Ring Of Fire, how successful I was. I don’t understand why we have to change the style of show we offer our punters though. They’ve always come to support us. We always relied upon offering good wrestling matches, not silly angles or storylines. Troy, we’re not becoming the SWF, we’re simply allowing the wrestlers a chance to add build up to their matches through doing interviews to hype up matches. Storylines for only the biggest rivalries with the focus still being on the matches at the end. I’m not gonna push a bunch of untalented wrestlers simply because they can do good interviews, wrestling ability still comes first. Ok, what do I need to do? Allow us to run more cutting edge shows Troy, plain and simple. You don’t need to do anything, just give me permission to run the shows like this. We’ll put it on a trial period of say a year. If that doesn’t work we can switch back. I don’t like it, but I’ll accept you’ve been successful in the past and I did bring you in to do your own thing. One year. If the fans haven’t accepted the change by then, then we revert back to our old style. Anything else? I’ve contacted a number of people about singing…

the boss makes an unusual signing Troy and Johnson You did what!!!!!! I signed… Who!!!! Now listen here, I don’t tolerate prejudice towards people who are vertically challenged like myself, The Minor Annoyance is a very talented performer who just needs a chance. No, he’s not a talented performer, he’s a worthless mi… mistake. What am I supposed to do with him anyway, make him out to be an unstoppable monster, the next Bruce The Giant perhaps? I dunno, main eventer, referee, authority figure – you’re the head booker, figure it out. Just wow! I 'll be reading this. I can already sense a great story coming from this just by the revelation of your first signing. It's weird because I'm not usually drawn to the Canadian feds in the C-verse. The Minor Annoyance does it for me though. Not because I like him or anything, but because he is a unique and interesting first signing and I am at once entertained as well as curious as to where you are going with this.

We signed a number of non-aggression pacts with TCW, DAVE, NOTBPW and CGC.
