Okay, for everyone’s refreshment (including my own) here is what has gone on thus far with this diary: Januray 2007 marked what should have been the beginning of a beautiful year for the DeColts and CGC. Dan DaLay had been run out of the promotion and with him the remainder of the Elite had splintered. Things soon changed, however, when a mysterious agent began executing brutal attacks on the DeColts, getting to Steve, Jack, Marie and Ricky within a short time. This new “Threat” remained shrouded in great mystery until the appearance of Thomas Morgan who acted as The Threat’s spokesman. Morgan would give the DeColts a place to focus their anger, but would exacerbate the problem when he defeated Ricky for the CGC Canadian Title. Alex DeColt, in the meantime, had his hands full taking care of challengers Eddie Chandler and Ryan Powell at Elimination. The Threat himself ambushed Alex at the end of Elimination, but evaded being revealed when two other masked men attacked the CGC champ. These two men later cost Steve a match against young upstart Ryan Powell. Alex, fed up with all these sneak attacks, has challenged The Threat to a match for the CGC Title in an attempt to draw him out. In the meantime Jack has become increasingly withdrawn and defensive of his now fiancé, Marie, as witnessed in his recent brutal attack on Valentine. And so the stage is set for 25-February-2007 CGC Title Bout Wrestling Trademark Toughness The latest edition of TBW starts up with CGC Canadian Champion Thomas Morgan coming out to the ring, dressed for a match with the belt around his waist. By now the crowd has a deep distaste for the representative of The Threat and boo him incessantly as he steps into the ring. He takes a mic and says that he has issued a challenge for his title to anyone in the CGC locker room without the last name DeColt, but so far no one has answered. He says he guesses there is no one tough enough to take him on and risk falling victim to the Trademark Triangle. He is cut short as Ed Monton, one half of the CGC tag champs, hits the ring. He snatches the mic from Morgan and says that he may not be a DeColt, but George DeColt has given him a good run here in CGC and he figures he owes him one and will see to it that Thomas Morgan does not leave here CGC Canadian champ tonight! Ed Monton vs. Thomas Morgan© - CGC Canadian Title Match Monton levelled Morgan with a big right hand to start the match off. He continued to beat away at the downed champion until Morgan bailed out of the ring. He headed to the back until Monton’s tag partner, Whippy the Clown, ran out and dragged the Trademark back to the ring! The ref let this incident slide and the match was back on. After an even paced bout Morgan picked up the win when the referee, distracted by some of Whippy’s “clowning around” at ringside, missed a low blow on Monton. Afterwards Ed was none too pleased with his partner, but since when is that news? Valentine has seen better days… Backstage Valentine is in pretty bad shape after his brutalization at the hands of Jack DeColt last week. He had a black eye and a huge neck brace on. He moved gingerly around the refreshments table trying to get a cup of coffee prepared but this proved easier said than done with his present condition. Nikki Power approached from behind. She startled Valentine who was expecting another attack from Jack it would seem. He grinned pathetically at the Nikki, reminding her of their recent date. Instead of the usual disgust, however, Nikki showed some compassion on the battered young man, helping him prepare his coffee and even blowing on it to cool it off before passing it to him. The scene ended with a tight shot of Valentine’s face giving a look as if to say “Hey, maybe this isn’t so bad after all.” Who gets to face the Threat’s Men? Backstage Alex, Jack and Ricky DeColt are in a dressing room. Evidently they still haven’t decided which two of them will face the Threat’s Men tonight. Jack and Alex try to convince Ricky to let them do the job because they don’t want to see him hurt again. Ricky says it is precisely because of the attacks on him that he should be allowed to exact some revenge. Alex asks where Steve is because he would definitely want a piece of the action too after he was attacked last week. Jack says if he’s not there its his loss and they need to get on with deciding it. After a round robin “rock, paper, scissors” it turns out that Alex and Jack do get the nod for the main event! Alex and Jack DeColt vs. The Threat’s Men This was not a scientific affair as Alex and Jack tore into the masked men with a fury that only the DeColts can muster in Western Canada. The mystery duo worked well together, but they couldn’t keep pace with Alex and Jack who had been trained together. In the end it devolved into a double countout as all four men brawled away outside the ring. Ricky and Thomas Morgan ran down to join the fray. After laying out Morgan with the Canadian title, the DeColts had the upper hand for once. The three of them subdued the Threat’s Men and tore off their masks to reveal…Nate Johnson and Bobby Thomas, THE SPECIALISTS! Neither they, the announcers or the audience really had time to digest this before the big screen caught up with their older brother Steve. The Threat’s Answer Steve had wrangled up a camera crew and was following a lead to see if he could track down The Threat. He said that someone had left him a note telling him if he wanted to find the Threat to meet them in a certain abandoned warehouse and to come alone. Steve said he knew it was risky, but he couldn’t risk letting this guy get away again. Steve prepared to enter the warehouse, which was completely dark. The frightened camera man stayed just outside the door. Suddenly there were the sounds of a struggle, Steve yelling and glass breaking. Noting else was heard as the camera man had taken off running, dropping the camera along the way. While the remainder of the DeColts looked on horrified in the ring the arena lights went down and the now familiar distorted voice of The Threat came through the P.A. He told Alex that he accepted his challenge for the CGC Title and what better place to take it away than March 11 at the DeColt WrestleFestival! =============== Next time on CGC Title Bout Wrestling: Youth Energy vs. Soldiers of Fortune Sammy the Shark vs. Valentine Alex, Ricky and Jack DeColt vs. Thomas Morgan and the Specialists Plus, the fate of Steve DeColt
