World Wrestling Federation: The New Generation

Introduction to the Diary
Introduction The year is 1993, wrestling isn't what it used to be. This is just off the heels of what some may say is the biggest period of time in wrestling history. That time was The Golden Age. Guys like Hulk Hogan are old now, and the fans don't have much interest in him. WWF has been in a rut for quite some time. Vince McMahon, owner of World Wrestling Federation, has been in trouble with the law. He has been to court for steroid scandals, and he has been accused of sexual harassment. Vince has tried to turn his company around by giving the audience fresh faces. Vince calls this period in the WWF, The New Generation.
Information on the World Wrestling Federation
World Wrestling Federation Basic Information Information Start Date: August, 1993 Promotion: World Wrestling Federation Founded: 1963 Owner: Vince McMahon Size: International Location: New England(US) Style: Sports Entertainment Starting Money: $2,000,000 Staff Booking Team Bruce Pritchard Vince McMahon Jack Tunney Jim Ross Terry Taylor Road Agents Bruce Pritchard Gerald Brisco Sgt. WWF Monday Night RAW Preview Monday, Week 1, August, 1993
This week RAW comes all the way from Amherst, Massachusetts. RAW has a great card this week, and it shouldn't dissapoint. First of all, the WWF Tag Team Champions, The Steiner Brothers, will take on The Headshrinkers, Fatu and Samu. This match will be a non-title affair, but it sure means a lot. Also, Bret Hart will be in action, as he takes on 'The Model' Rick Martel. Bret Hart shouldn't take Martel too lightly, as 'The Model' is a very skilled wrestler. If 'The Hitman' were to let Martel slip through his fingers, Martel could be on the rise. Lastly, Mr. Perfect and Razor Ramon will be going one on one in a bout that should keep the crowd on the edge of their seats. This isn't a simple match as the winner will become the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Title. I'm sure Shawn Michaels will be keeping an eye closely on this match. This and much more on WWF Monday Night RAW, 9/8CT on the USA Network.
Tonight we have a great main event, and it is for the #1 Contendership for the Intercontinental Title. It will be Razor Ramon going up against Mr. Perfect. 'Macho Man' Randy Savage: This match is going to be very exciting, Vince. I'm sure Bobby will have a prediction on who he thinks is going to win. Bobby Heenan: Yes indeed I do, 'Macho Man'. Razor Ramon will come out on top in this one, Mr. Perfect stands no chance. Overall: B- Luger Requests Title Match Lex Luger is seen barging into Gorilla Monsoon's office. Gorilla and he have a heated conversation, and Gorilla puts Lex Luger in a match. Lex Luger: Gorilla, I want a match with Yokozuna for the Heavyweight Title! Gorilla Monsoon: You are very accomplished, Lex, but..... Lex Luger: But what?! I have busted my hump, and I have nothing to show for it, and now I want a shot at the big prize. Gorilla Monsoon: OK you got it, Lex. Under one condition, you win your match tonight. If you beat Bam Bam Bigelow, you will get your shot at the Heavyweight Title. Overall: B- The Steiner Brothers vs. The Headshrinkers VS. A good back and forth match between two accomplished tag teams. This match had a certain significance, because if The Headshrinkers win, then they have a leg up on the Tag Team Champions. This match had a mix of power, technical skills, and aerial moves. The Headshrinkers pulled an upset on the Tag Team Champions at 8:43 when Samu hit Rick Steiner with a Flying Headbutt. Winners: The Headshrinkers Overall: C+ The Headshrinkers Attack The Champs After the match, The Headshrinkers thought that they would add insult to injurty by attacking The Steiner Brothers. The Steiner Brothers tried to fight them off, but The Headshrinkers just demolished them. Overall: C Announcers Hype Bret Hart Vince McMahon and 'Macho Man' Randy Savage hype up Bret Hart. Bobby Heenan doesn't take any part in hyping up one of his non-favorites. Vince McMahon: In the next match we will see Bret Hart take on 'The Model' Rick Martel. Does Martel even have a chance in this match, Savage? 'Macho Man' Randy Savage: Everyone in the WWF can beat anyone on any given night. One thing that is stopping 'The Model' from getting the win is Bret Hart. Hart may be one of the best technical wrestlers to step in a WWF ring. Overall: B- Bret Hart Hypes Himself Bret Hart comes to the ring and hypes himself up as he puts 'The Model' Rick Martel down. Bret Hart: Tonight I am going to make work of Rick Martel in minutes, maybe seconds. I am the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be. I'm going to prove those exact words tonight. Overall: C+ Bret Hart vs. 'The Model' Rick Martel VS. This could go down in the books as the most glorified squash match in the history of WWF, and maybe professional wrestling. Bret Hart and Martel had good chemistry for what it was, and pulled off a very good match. Bret Hart wrapped up the victory at 12:42 when 'The Model' tapped out to the Sharpshooter. Winner: Bret Hart Overall: B+ Graphic Hypes Luger vs. Bigelow A graphic is show on the screen reminding us that Lex Luger will take on Bam Bam Bigelow. Overall: C Todd Pettengill Interviews Luna Vachon and Bam Bam Todd Pettengill is backstage with Luna Vachon and Bam Bam Bigelow. They conduct a moderatly short interview. Todd Pettengill: Tonight, Bam Bam, you will take on Lex Luger. What is your game plan to defeat him? Luna Vachon: I can take that one, Todd. Bam Bam's game plan for tonight is to over power Lex Luger. If Bam Bam can over power him then Luger has no chance at winning. Todd Pettengill: Lex Luger is a strong man himself. It will be a hard task for Bam Bam to over power someone of Lugers strength. Luna Vachon: Noone is stronger than Bam Bam Bigelow, and that is a fact! Bam Bam Bigelow: Bam Bam! Todd Pettengill: You heard it here, Bam Bam Bigelow thinks he will make quick work of Lex Luger. Overall: C- Lex Luger vs. Bam Bam Bigelow VS. This was a very intense match that was full of power moves. Luger and Bam Bam showed off their strength in this one, and they were matched. Luger showed charisma in the ring, and got the crowd behind him. Luger grabbed the victory at 9:38 by hitting a Flying Forearm after Bam Bam missed a Moonsault. Winner: Lex Luger Overall: B- Razor Ramon Hypes His Match Razor Ramon is backstage in front of a camera. He cuts a promo about his match against Mr. Perfect. Razor Ramon: Hey there, Chico. Tonight I'm going to brutalize Mr. Perfect, and then I'm going to go on to beat Shawn Michaels for the Intercontinental Title. I'm the best in the business, and I'll show you why. I have an order of business to put out. There has been a lack of competition to me lately, and I need someone to fight. I'm issuing an open challenge to anyone in the lockeroom to face me next week. Overall: B- Todd Pettengill Interviews Shawn Michaels Todd Pettengill is with Shawn Michaels backstage. He asks Michaels a few questions, but Michaels dodges them. Todd Pettengill: What are your thought on Razor Ramon versus Mr. Perfect? Shawn Michaels: You know what I think? I think I'm the best in the business, and there is noone who is better than me. Todd Pettengill: You must not think fondly of either one? Shawn Michaels: Enough with the questions..... These two had great chemistry, and it made for a great main event. These two worked their best in the ring and pulled off a great match. Both showcased their talents, and it worked to their advantage. Mr. Perfect was able to beat out Razor Ramon when he hit the Perfect Plex at 13:46. Winner: Mr. Perfect Overall: A Michaels Announces Mr. Perfect's New Opponent Michaels comes out to the top of the ramp, and starts to clap. He then tells Mr. Perfect that he wasn't impressed, and gives Mr. Perfect some news. Shawn Michaels: Nice win, too bad it was over a loser like Razor Ramon. I don't think you have proved yourself as a Contender for my title yet. Next week you will have one more challenge, and it isn't gonna be easy. Michaels then points behind Mr. Perfect, and Mr. Perfect is given a suprise. WWF Superstars Preview Sunday, Week 1, August, 1993
This week's WWF Superstars is going to be a fantastic show gauranteed. WWF Superstars will coming to from the Conte Forum in Boston, Massachusetts, the home of the Boston College Eagles. In a great match to kick off the show, it will be 'The Rocket' Owen Hart taking on The 1-2-3 Kid. This match will showcase some great action, but be sure to see Koko B. Ware pull some tricks to get his buddy, Owen, the victory. Also, in a match between Shawn Michaels' bodyguard, Diesel, and Michaels' former tag partner, Marty Jannetty. Diesel was revealed as Mr. Perfect's next challenger, and if Mr. Perfect loses he doesn't get a shot at Shawn Michaels' Intercontinental Title. This should be a great match, and it will be interesting to see how Marty Jannetty evens up the size difference. And in the main event, it will be Tatanka taking on Irwin R. Schyster. Both these men are distinguished men in the ring. Tatanka is a man of few words, but packs a big punch. Schyster on the other hand is arrogant and will do anything to get a victory. This and much more on WWF Superstars, 6/5CT Sunday on the USA Network.
WWF Superstars Results Sunday, Week 1, August, 1993
Live from the Conte Forum in Boston, Massachusetts Attendance: 10,000 The 1-2-3 Kid vs. 'The Rocket' Owen Hart VS. A good, strong match to get the show started. These two men are great wrestlers in their own ways. Both showed their technical and aerial abilities, and it helped the match out a lot. 'The Rocket' looked good in this match and The 1-2-3 Kid showed some improvement. Owen Hart got the victory in this match at 11:37 when he hit The Rocket. Winner: Owen Hart Overall: C The Announce Team Hypes Main Event The announce team hypes the main event between Tatanka and Irwin R. Schyster. The two veterans, Savage and Lawler, give their predictions. Vince McMahon: Fantastic match right there between Owen Hart and The 1-2-3 Kid, but later on tonight we will have an even better match. We will see the meanest Native American alive today, Tatanka, taking on Irwin R. Schyster. Jerry Lawler: This match is great, but I don't see much competition for Irwin R. Schyster. He is going to come out the victor in this match for sure. 'Macho Man' Randy Savage: I wouldn't put Tatanka out of the running in this one. He is one of the best young talents in the WWF today. Tatanka has the size advantage on Schyster, and I think that will be the difference maker. It shows Mr. Perfect getting the win over Ramon. It ends with Diesel standing over Mr. Perfect after hitting the Jacknife Powerbomb. Overall: C Marty Jannetty vs. Diesel VS. This was a squash match, and it wasn't a hidden fact. Diesel mopped the floor with Jannetty. Diesel made it known that he is a dominating force in the WWF. Diesel's size seemed too big of a task for Jannetty to overcome. Diesel hit the Jacknife Powerbomb for the win at 7:06. Winner: Diesel Overall: C Irwin R. Schyster Hypes His Match Irwin R. Schyster is sitting at a desk doing up some taxes, when he looks in the camera and does a promo. Irwin R. Schyster: Tonight I'm going to make it visible that I'm what WWF is all about. It is about arrogance, attitude, and intelligence, all things that I have. Tatanka will fall to my feet, and I will reign supreme once again. Overall: C+ Recap Video of Bob Backlund's Open Challenge A video is shown of Bob Backlund challenging the whole lockeroom. It leaves the mystery of who answers the challenge a secret. Bob Backlund is then seen in a picture raising his hand in victory. Overall: C+ The Announce Team Hypes Tatanka The announce team is now behind the desk hyping up Tatanka. They all praise him for his skills and his recent victories. Vince McMahon: Next we will see Tatanka take on Irwin R. Schyster. Tatanka is a very impressive wrestler, would you guys agree? 'Macho Man' Randy Savage: Yes, Tatanka is one hell of a wrestler, and he has made it known. He has made his way through various men in that lockeroom. Tatanka is a great young talent here in the WWF. Jerry Lawler: It is true, he is a great wrestler. Tatanka has earned his spot on the roster, that is for sure. The question is, is all this hype going to his head? I think it is, and I think it will come back to haunt him. Overall: C+ Tatanka vs. Irwin R. Schyster VS. This was a back and forth match that made these men look good. Tatanka got the crowd behind him early in the match, and that payed off for him in the end. Schyster taunted the crowd a lot, but it came back to bite him. Tatanka was able to get the victory at 10:33 when he hit the Tomahawk Chop. Winner: Tatanka Overall: C+ Overall Rating: C
OOB: OK, worst thing happened to me in the game. One of the owner goals was to never drop in size. My first show raised me to barely over International size, into Global. Then since I scored low on Superstars it dropped WWF back down to International. This then got me fired for failing an owner goal.
