You have some valid points as to why you don't like it (and I have to say I agree with you on the changing schedule and wrestler names, cos I also personally like things kept the way they were to a certain degree, to start off at least). Problem is with forums is the tone can't be recognised. I was more interested in why you didn't like it, rather than having a go for saying you didn't. It wasn't an accusation, and neither was saying it sounded like a dig, that was more of an observation. Once again, this observation was taken without knowing the tone. I must say I noticed the overabundance of PPV's too, but I guess it takes a visionary to grow the PPV market. WCW and WWF went to 6, then WCW took it to 8, that worked, why not 12? WWE is above and beyond that now. Mid 90's was a decent starting point for the expansion of the major event market so I don't think it's unrealistic.

Luger runs back down the ramp to save X-Pac and starts handing out rights and lefts to Yokozuna. The two men start to fight the big giant and Luger clotheslines him over the top rope. Luger and X-Pac celebrate in the ring to the crowd’s amusement.[/I] [I]Hart then appears on the screen. [/I] [B]Hart:[/B] You better apologize for what you said last week about me or I will come out there and tear you to bits right in front of this crowd. [B]Luger:[/B] Stuff your apology. [I]Hart starts to make his way down to the ring and the two wrestlers start to brawl. The crowd (at first) don't know who to cheer for but soon the majority start to chant Bret’s name. Then when the ref has his back turned Diesel hits him straight round the head forcing him down to the ground. Diesel then calls into the back and a masked man runs in wielding a baseball bat. He starts to smack Jarrett with it and then wakes the ref up. Diesel wins goes for the cover and picks up a victory. [B]Match Rating:[/B] B+ [I]Without giving him time to heal his wounds Bulldog runs in and starts to exchange lefts and rights with the masked man. Diesel runs through the crowd and into the backstage area. Bulldog gets the better of his foe and then starts to chase Diesel. He finds Diesel backstage but before he can react the masked man lays him out him that baseball bat. I am kinda confused about a couple of things... was Barbarian in the Headshrinkers with Rikishi Fatu? Also how come this is the start of the Monday Night Wars if Deisel, Razor Ramon, and Lex Luger are still in the WWE? Luger went to WCW when the war started I thought. I dunno too much since I was about 9 years old and didnt have cable until I was 12. I am 21 now so that should give you an idea of what I may and may not know. I did watch wrestling occasionally at my cousins house.

It was the likes of Hall, Nash and Luger moving to WCW that really ignited the war and gave WCW the firepower to compete. However, the Monday Night Wars started when Nitro was put in direct competition with Raw, which it is in this diary. The war was also prompted by Hogan and Savage signing for WCW, not in a "you stole our best talent you b@stards!" but in a competitive sense, as they now also had big names. But generally, it was Bischoff/Turners/TNTs decision to air Nitro in competition to Raw. But you are right in as much as the moves of Nash, Hall and Luger really got the war going. Of course, if anyone can see fault in what I said please correct me, this is just ging by my recollection.

They have been trying to tie up deals to get best friends Mick Foley and Terry Funk to join the roster but we are still hesitant as to if they have settled on a deal. If brought, these might be used as a tag team, it was revealed yesterday. The plan is to debut them as heel invaders who start to cause friction within the roster with surprise attacks and taunting of other workers. This is not yet confirmed but is the more likely option that new head booker George Hughes would want to take. Some of the more youthful ECW talent has been snapped up by the WWF. The charismatic Rob Van Dam and the extreme Boo Bradley have recently been signed along with Mike Awesome. The WWF are really struggling to come up with anything for those three to do. They have been rattling their brains and even asking other wrestlers to see if they have any ideas. Expect a few big pushes in the up and coming months. Vince has requested that Hughes push some of the wrestlers around thirty years old before it is too late. He wants to see if he can create one or two fresh Main Eventers to replace the already aging ones such as Bret Hart, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Lex Luger who are all thirty six and might only be capable to go full time for a couple more years. I will win the Rumble and then go and do what only a handful of men have ever before, headline Wrestlemania. Animal finds a bit of energy and tags out Hawk. Hawk is the fresh man and it shows as he starts out Scott with lefts and rights Hawk then gets blind sighted by Rick. Animal then takes out Rick outside the ring and they begin to brawl. Scott gets to his feet and lock in the Steiner Recliner on Hawk. Hawk fades away and passes out and The Steiner Brothers become No.1 Contenders. [B]Match Rating:[/B] B+ [I]The challenger for the WWF Championship is shown arriving to the arena. Owen has an early advantage and hits a Snap Suplex on Benoit. Owen starts to work on the legs. He hits several knees to the legs trying to wear them down ready for the sharpshooter. The referee is knocked out when Benoit ducks and Owen hits the ref. Benoit immediately jumps out of the ring and picks up a steel chair. Owen moves out of the way of the chair and rolls up Benoit. The count is clearly more than three but the ref is down. Owen then puts Benoit’s leg in the steel chair and starts the stomp on it. With Benoit’s leg near breakage Hart locks in a sharpshooter just as the ref starts to recover. Hart has the submission in for a good 2 minutes Benoit then reaches for the ropes. Hart hits a German Suplex and then goes up to the top rope. Benoit leaps to his feet trying to shake off his throbbing leg. He jumps up to where Owen is and superplexs him. With neither man up the ref begins to count them out. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 The match ends with a draw via count out. Vince came out and announced that the competitors would now be competing under No DQ rules. The crowd nearly brought the roof off when Undertakers music hit. The match started with Undertaker and the Demon dominating, not letting the numbers game get to them. The tables soon turned when DiBiase hit Undertaker over the head with a steel chair. Bundy started to beat down Undertaker some more while the Tag Champs tried to get the better of the Demon. Bundy then put Undertaker onto the announce table and gave him a nasty pile driver straight through it. With the Undertaker down MDC focused their attention on the Demon. All three men used various team moves to invoke more impact onto the Demon. Tatanka and Bigelow got the steel steps and when the Demon stood up they drove them into his head causing blood to pour out. MDC then put both men in the ring and went for the cover, by this time the crowd were booing and chanting some awful things at the Million Dollar Corporation. Familiar music hit on the speakers. Bret Hart was coming to save the Undertaker and Demon. This put the MDC off making the cover. The crowd’s boos turned to cheering as Bret Hart ran up the ramp. He entered the ring and then stopped for a moment. He went up to the Undertaker, slapped him in the face then put him in the sharpshooter. All three members of MDC jumped onto the Demon and the ref counted 1…2…3. [B]Match Rating:[/B] B+ [I]After the shocking events, Hart and the MDC continued the beat down on the fallen hero’s introducing many weapons along the way. The crowd started the throw food in the ring at Bret Hart while he celebrated with the Million Dollar Corporation.[/I] [I] A video is shown hyping up tonight’s WWF Championship match between Diesel and the British Bulldog.[/I] [IMG]http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/6324/kevinnashta4.jpg[/IMG]vs.[IMG]http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/5479/daveyboysmithbq2.jpg[/IMG] As the No.1 Contender enters a tear comes to his eye as the crowd cheer for the Bulldog to be victorious tonight. Diesel comes out with Rocky Mavia to a chorus of jeering. They both lock up after hearing the bell sound to begin the match. Bulldog starts to open up with fast punches to the stomach of Diesel. Diesel is soon on top after an illegal thumb to the eye. Diesel hits a couple of backbreakers in a row which leaves Bulldog in pain. Diesel slowing wears down Bulldog, taunting him and the crowd every so often. He locks in a sleeper hold to which it looks as if Bulldog if fading. The arm goes down once, twice, he still as life left inside him. Bulldog hits Diesel with some elbows so that he has time to get to an upright position. Bulldog nearly clotheslined Diesel’s head off and then hit him with a big back body drop. Bulldog starts to gain momentum and looks to lift up the 300 pounds for a running power slam. He hits it and goes for the cover. 1…2…Diesel kicks out. Diesel then hits Bulldog with some vicious headbutts. He gets back up to his feet and picks Bulldog up for the Jacknife Power Bomb. The move is successful and Diesel goes for the cover. 1…2…3 Diesel has retained his title and is still the best in the World Wrestling Federation. [I] Diesel celebrates his victory with Rocky Mavia in the ring. [/I] [B]Ross: [/B]After all that great action it’s time for tonight’s Main Event the Royal Rumble match. [B]No.1 – Yokozuna No.2 – Mr Perfect[/B] These two start to brawl with Yokozuna getting the upper hand. He hits a few punches to the face and then the 10 count starts. [B]No.3 – The Barbarian[/B] Mr Perfect and The Barbarian try to work as a team to take out the 650 pounder. Yokozuna starts to get the better of them. [B] No.4 – Roddy Piper[/B] The four that are in the ring start the brawl and Piper throws Mr. Perfect over the top rope. Yokozuna hits a Bonzai Drop on The Barbarian. [B] No.5 – The Undertaker[/B] Undertaker limped to the ring and starts to hammer down Yokozuna with fast flowing lefts and rights. Piper then attacks Undertaker from behind and puts him in a sleeper hold. The Barbarian is still down. [B]No.6 – Fatu [/B] Fatu runs in and breaks up the sleeper hold. He forces Piper into the corner and hits him with some Knife Edge Chops. Undertaker is trying to recover in the corner but Yokozuna picks him up and slams him down into the ring. [B] No.7 – Jim Niedhart [/B] As soon as Niedhart enters the ring he is jumped by the New Headshrinkers who are obviously going to try to work as a team. They throw him over the top rope almost instantly. Yokozuna and Piper double team the Undertaker. [B] No.8 – Chris Benoit[/B] Benoit and Piper eliminate the New Headshrinker at the same time while Undertaker is getting beaten down by Yokozuna. [B]No.9 – Animal [/B] Animal comes in and starts to hit many clotheslines to both Benoit and Piper. Yokozuna manages to take Animal down and it turns into a three on two. [B]No.10 – Shawn Michaels[/B] Michaels comes into the ring and says that he will help take out the Undertaker. He then eliminates Piper and then starts to beat down Animal. Undertaker starts to fight back against both Yokozuna and Benoit. [B]No. 11 – X-Pac [/B] X-Pac wastes little time in getting to the ring and immediately tries to go for Yokozuna. Both Undertaker and X-Pac help each other out and eliminated Yokozuna. Michaels, Animal and Benoit continue to brawl. [B]No.12 – Dean Malenko [/B] Malenko and Benoit team up. X-Pac and Undertaker team as do Michaels and Animal. They all start to punch each other with Benoit hitting three German Suplex’s on X-Pac. [B] No.13 – Hawk [/B] Hawk runs in and starts to batter Michaels along with Animal. Benoit then turns on Malenko and eliminates him. Undertaker and X-Pac continue to work as a team. The dead man hits a choke slam on a helpless Benoit. [B]No.14 – Rocky Mavia[/B] Rocky quickly climbs to the top rope and throw himself at the Undertaker. He catches him and then throws Rocky over the top rope. While the Undertaker’s attention is turned away Michaels eliminates X-Pac. [B]No. 15 – Bam Bam Bigelow[/B] Bigelow takes no nonsense and is quickly attacking Undertaker. Michaels joins in the attack and they both try to get him over the top rope. Legion of Doom double team Benoit and throw him over the rope. [B] No.16 – Tatanka[/B] The Undertaker doesn’t look very pleased as another one of his enemy’s come out. The brawling continues. [B] No. 17 – Bret Hart[/B] Hart runs to the ring with the fans chanting ‘You Suck’. He helps the Tag Champs beat down the Undertaker and Michaels, starts to get beaten down by LOD. [B]No.18 – Bart Gunn[/B] Michaels is hit by a DDT by Bart Gunn, then Gunn and LOD go to help the Undertaker. Michaels slides out of the ring and goes underneath without anyone noticing. [B]No.19 – Scott Steiner [/B] Steiner hits a belly to belly on Bam Bam Bigelow. Hart and the Tag Champs find themselves in a three on five beat down. [B] No.20 – Billy Gunn[/B] The Smokin’ Gunns eliminate Scott Steiner and then they try to get the Undertaker out. LOD then get taken out by Hart, Bigelow and Tatanka [B] No.21 – Rick Steiner[/B] Hart eliminates Rick. [B] No.22 – Kama [/B] Undertaker double choke slams the Smokin’ Gunns over the top rope, while Tatanka and Bigelow eliminate LOD. It turns into a four on one. [B] No.23 – The Roadie [/B] It now turns into a five on one beat down of the Undertaker. Bret Hart gets him over the top rope and Undertaker in done for. [B] No.24 – Marty Jannetty [/B] The five men in the ring make it clear that they are going to work together when they all eliminate Jannetty and wait for the next competitor. [B] No.25 – King Kong Bundy [/B] MDC and Hart eliminate both Kama and The Roadie and wait for the next one [B]No.26 – Owen Hart [/B] Hart waits on the outside for the next person. He runs round the ring avoiding the Million Dollar Corporation. [B] No.27 – Razor Ramon [/B] Ramon immediately runs in. Ramon and Owen take out MDC with Owen leaving his brother for Ramon. [B] No.28 – Bob Holly [/B] Holly helps remove the MDC from control of this match. They manage to get Bundy over the ropes to even it out. [B]No.29 – Jeff Jarrett [/B] Jarrett runs down and get blind sighted by Michaels who has emerged from under the ring. He throws Jarrett into the ring and eliminates him. [B] No.30 – Lex Luger[/B] Luger comes in running. He is so pumped up for this fight. He throws Tatanka and Bigelow out of the ring. He begins to eliminate both Bob Holly and Owen Hart. We are down to Luger and Michaels. They start to give everything they have for this opportunity. Both men are still pretty fresh. Michaels goes for sweet chin music. Luger moves out of the way and then chucks Michaels over the rope. Luger has done it. He has become No.1 Contender. Funk and Foley would do well with your tag straps imo. Also, I like the way you've pushed the Bulldog. Hopefully, he moves on to a different program after the PPV. Can't see him chasing the strap anymore with Lex on the rise. But then again... My mark out match for the PPV was the "showstealer", Benoit/Hart! They've got to do it again! Good stuff man. Shawn Michaels then makes his way down to ringside and he starts to talk trash with Ramon. Bulldog then realises he has an opportunity and rolls up Ramon from behind for the win in 17:23. This show is help the WWF promote the newer talent who are finding it hard to have matches on the current show Monday Night Raw. This show won’t be shown on TV but to an audience ranging from 1000 to 5000 people. They are yet to decide on a name and have been throwing around a few ideas which they haven’t released yet. Storylines won’t be progressed on this show as it wouldn’t make much sense for them to only show them to a few people. They currently don’t have any plans as yet to turn this into a TV show [/FONT]
