Welcome... to the Coastal Zone!

More tedious than grinding for Turtle Shells of the coast of Dustwallow, and geekier than a World of Warcraft reference! Welcome to the Coastal Zone! After two years of hard work, Cliff no longer cared about our budgetary skills. Our first impulse was to sing a bunch of people... but then we thought better of it. We'd just use our more expensive people more often. It wouldn't get the undercard over as much... but we're not here to make new stars, we're here to make the ones we have bigger. January 2009, Week 4, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from the sold-out Palacio de Lucha, Mexico --Marc Speed def. Mark Smart in ten minutes (E+) Out comes Nathaniel Casino for the two-on-one, and Ben Williams to attempt the save, and Pee-Wee eventually manages to seperate them. Fast Money claims that, under Tidal Booking Rules, they get the next title shot since they won the two singles matches. X-Factor reluctantly agrees, making the match for CZCW Broken. (E-) --Angel de Mexico def. Zenshin Makioka in ten minutes by DQ when Plague returns the chairshot from last week (D-). Afterwards, with Angel dazed, Plague grabs a ladder from under the ring and smashes Angel with it, telling him he'll have his full attention at Broken (D-) We get a series of intercut interviews with Alicia, Mario, and Roderick (E+, E+, E). --#1 Contenders Match: Alicia Strong def. Mario Heroic and Rod Remus in seventeen minutes (D-) Show rating: E+. TV rating: 0.00. Oh, c'mon, E+? Dubyateeeff, people... Masked Cougar (E+) Show rating: E+ Running shows without overness sucked... too bad the only place we could get a TV show was Mexico... we were going to have to decide if we wanted to be an American fed with Lucha influences, or a Lucha fed with American influences... Next time, on the Coastal Zone: Broken has sprung from nowhere. Will a fast burn put butts in the seats for it?

Put the title on someone who just joined the roster under a month ago? Who do you think I am... Vince Russo? Welcome to the Coastal Zone! The Remus Brothers renewed their contracts. Pity Remmington couldn't wrestle, we'd have them be a tag team. So, one more week until CZCW Broken, and it was time to drum up some interest in our three announced matches. We had already moved Broken to Sunday, so this was the only chance we were going to get. Interesting news: As February opens, so to do three new federations. European Wrestling Federation, in Western Europe, with a very old-school product. Katana Pro 1 in Tohoku, Japan, with the same sort of explosive action the Zone put on before Peers came in and changed up the style a bit. And Eastern European World Wrestling in Eastern Europe, with a cult product. Interesting... but nothing we needed to be worried about at the moment. February 2009, Week 1, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from Oaxaca High School, West-Central Mexico Backstage, X-Factor is in the middle of a beatdown on Fast Money, looking to weaken them for the weekend. (F) --Masked Cougar def. Snap Dragon in eighteen minutes (D+) Dueling promos from Angel (D-), Plague (D-), Alicia (E+), and Fox Mask (D-). --Alicia Strong & Angel de Mexico def. Welcome to CZCW Broken! February, 2009. Week 1, Sunday Live from the... not sold-out Snake Pit? WTF! We open the show with Angel and Plague in the ring, yelling insults at each other until Pee-Wee comes out to hang the Xtreme Title over the ring (E). --Xtreme Title: Angel de Mexico def. Plague(c) in fifteen minutes when Angel, despite trying his hardest, is lying on the mat under the ladder, Plague is climbing, Angel begins to move, and Plague decides to put him away for good... but slips on the legdrop attempt and gets hung up in the ropes (D+) Alicia Strong is backstage, telling us that she left the Zone because she wasn't ready... but after a year in Japan honing her skills, she feels she's ready. Tonight is her night, and tonight she will be the Strongest One There Is. (D+) Fox Mask responds with a promo. He is not champion because he's the most popular, or because he's the veteran, or because he's got the bloodline. He's the champion because this is the Zone, he trusts in the Zone, the Zone trusts in him... and the Zone wants him to be champion. If the Zone wishes, then tonight, he loses... but he feels tonight, the Zone is not done with him. (D-) --Air Force One def. The Backyarders in six minutes (E+) Nemesis II is in the ring, claiming that nobody backstage was willing to take him up on his challenge... when some music not heard in a long time plays... Frankie Perez's music? Wait, that's not him... "My name... Jonnie Perez. Everyone here can call me P-Dawg. But you? Campbell, you can call me 'sir'." (E) --P-Dawg II def. Nemesis II in eleven minutes (E+) Hype video for Mario Heroic, Masked Cougar, and Roderick Remus, calling this a #1 Contendership Match. (D-) --Mario Heroic def. Masked Cougar & Roderick Remus in sixteen minutes (D+) X-Factor do a verbal rundown on Fast Money, claiming that there's no way they're losing the Tidal Tag Titles tonight (E) --Tidal Tag Titles: Fast Money def. A whole day without the Coastal Zone is like a whole day without breathing. Well, to a corpse. Y'know, just another day lyin' around. Welcome to the Coastal Zone! Yeah, a corpse joke. I went there. That'll be my Katie Vick of openings. I can only get better from here... or tear my quad... February 2009, Week 2, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from the Merida Resort, Southern Mexico We open with Roderick Remus in the ring, telling us that he won the #1 Contendership last night, and he's ready to get his title back... but P-Dawg's music hits and here he comes, reminding us that he beat a former champ... the one who took Rod's title in the first place. So P-Dawg thinks he deserves the #1 Contendership... and it looks like they'll settle this tonight (E) --Nathanial Casino def. Flyin' Jimmy Foxx in eleven minutes (E) We announce Marc Speed vs Snap Dragon next week, reminding people that under Tidal Booking Rules, Dragon must get the win in order for Air Force One to get a title shot (F) Angel de Mexico hypes his Xtreme Rematch with Plague tonight (D-) --Rod Remus def. P-Dawg II in eleven minutes (E+) Plague cuts a promo, which consists of several minutes of variations on "You got lucky. Tonight, I make no mistakes." (E+) --Xtreme Ladder Match: Angel de Mexico(c) def. Plague in eighteen minutes (D) Show rating: D- TV rating: 0.00. Please, let the TV schedules change soon... February, 2009. Week 2, Tuesday CZCW American Tour From the Colorado Springs Bar, Mid-South --Zenshin Makioka def. Ben Williams in eight minutes (F+) Alicia Strong and Masked Cougar set up a "Budget? What budget?" main event (E+) --Alicia Strong def. Masked Cougar in thirteen minutes (D) Show rating: E+ P-Dawg II showed up late to the last show, so we gave him a warning. He now had a strong dislike of us for victimizing him. Her, Mario Heroic got fined for that last week, kid. You got off light! We idly pondered checking on how our budget was doing... not that it'd matter... we'd lost sixteen grand last month, and were already losing more than that this month. At this rate, we had... about a year and a half before going broke. We figured we'd spend enough to make us really popular and start making money again in 2010. Now -that's- a business plan! Hopefully, the some one NOTBPW was using... they've just risen to International size. Hopefully they weren't interested in any of our talent... if they were, they'd've probably tried by now... On the next Coastal Zone: The American Tour gets a new plan, and Rod Remus gets his title shot. Will Alicia be happy about it?

Harder to stop than a snowstorm in the winter: Welcome to the Coastal Zone! As part of the new 'What Budget?' business plan, we sent out feelers to some people that we were surprised to see unemployed, and figured could do us a great deal of good. So, we've been thinking... WWE is like Olive Garden. The food's decent. It's not 'real' Italian, but everyone thinks it is. TNA is like a Johnny Carino's. Much better food, but they're a smaller chain and find it hard to compete. Ring of Honor is that little hole-in-the-wall place that may have great food, but you've never been there and most people would rather go someplace more respectable. WSX is McDonald's. Fast, cheap, filling, and probably bad for you but you don't really care. The Zone is like a diner. Always open, with an interesting mix of the usual and whatever the owner feels like trying to cook tonight. A familiar place, even if you're just stopping in once on the way through town. February, 2009. Week 3, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from the Palacio de Lucha, Northern Mexico We open with Rod Remus demanding his title match tonight... out comes Fox to agree (E+) --Mario Heroic def. Nemesis II in fourteen minutes (D-) Snap Dragon hypes his match with Marc Speed, promising to win a title shot (E-) --Snap Dragon def. Marc Speed in ten minutes (D-) Rod Remus and Fox both hype the main event (E, E) --CZCW Title: Fox Mask def. Rod Remus in eighteen minutes (D-) Show rating: E+... d'oh. TV rating: 0.00. And yes, I typed that before even reading the email telling me the rating. And yes, I was right. New season in thirteen days. It won't be soon enough for our tastes... February, 2009. Week 3, Tuesday CZCW American Tour Live from Biker's Paradise, New England --Masked Cougar and Plague go to a double-DQ at five minutes (D-). The pair argue about it with Pee-Wee, who finally restarts the match as a no-DQ match (E) --Plague def. Masked Cougar in sixteen minutes (D-) Show rating: D- We were begining to get worried. If Plague and Cougar couldn't turn out a C... well, maybe it was just because neither of them had wrestled in New England before. But we figured that was a good format to keep the touring show in... provided, of course, we picked people able to work together. Man, NOTBPW was going on a major hiring spree. Rich Money, Chance, Scout, Human Arsenal, Wolf Hawkins... they were going to be a force to be reckoned with. Glad we're not in the big leagues. We went on a hiring spree, too. Of the three names we'd picked out, we hired the two who didn't laugh at us. We'd better make sure they're not injured... Next time, on the Coastal Zone: Who did we bring in? Who laughed in our face? And how is this going to upset the delicate balance of the Zone? Who're we kidding... it's not that balanced.

Finding loopholes in the owner's guidelines since... well, now. Welcome to the Coastal Zone! "Hey, guys. Remember how Cliff said, no hiring people who worked for other companies? Well, we decided he meant 'currently'. With Phoenix gone, we've decided to up our Lucha quotient... no offense Mario, Angel..." February 2009, Week 4, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from Oaxaca High School, Central Mexico --Xtreme Contendership: P-Dawg II draws Fearless Blue in eight minutes by double DQ when out comes... lucha star El Leon? That would've pushed the whole show up to a D-. Still, we had a new storyline... Angel using El Leon as an 'enforcer' to keep and Xtreme-divison guys from getting a shot at his title, as well as Mario Heroic and El Bandito ready to make Fox's life hell. February 2009, Week 4, Tuesday CZCW American Tour Weston Gymnasium, Tristate USA --Alicia Strong def. Super Sonic in six minutes (D!!!) --Alicia Strong def. Daredevil Aero in six minutes (D-!!!) The Backyarders take five minutes to say, "Sure, you beat us alone... but can you beat us together?" (E-) --Alicia Strong def. the Backyarders in seven minutes by pinning Aero (E+) Show rating: E+. Holy fricken' crap, Alicia carried Sonic to a D. The girl needs a raise! Wrestling all over the place is doing well. EWF has putting on C cards shortly after coming into existance. TCW had just risen back to International . And one of wrestling's infamous tag team ended as Pete the Hillbilly retired. And even better... NEW TV SCHEDULES! Let's see... Monday... Sebastian's World was now on an hour earlier, so no worries there. We had no direct competition... in fact, we now sort-of served as a lead-in to INSPIRE's new show. On a different channel. But still, they started when we ended, so hey! On the next Coastal Zone: The New Mexican Revolution has begun!

2/16/07, a date which will live in infamy... the first date with no new Coastal Zone. Don't blame me... I was waiting for one more pageview so I could say "Hey, we made 5000!" But nooooo, I've got to do it myself... Welcome to the Coastal Zone! ... okay, you're right, I got busy programming something else. So sue me. March, 2009. Week 1, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from the Merida Resort, Southern Mexico We open with Fox Mask in the ring, wanting to talk about Mario's turn on him last week. Out come Angel and Bandito, saying he's lucky... tonight's going to be a rematch from last week, but Fox won't have to worry about Mario turning on him again... because Mario's not here. Fox is ready to accept the handicap match... when out comes Alicia Strong, volunteering to be Fox's partner tonight. (D-) --Nemesis II def. William Crash in six minutes (E) El Leon hypes his match with P-Dawg, stating the path to the Xtreme Title goes right through him (D-) --El Leon def. That main event should've gotten a D+ at least... and only a 0.01 TV rating? What the heck is it going to take to turn things around here? March, 2009. Week 1, Tuesday CZCW American Tour From the Rainbow Bar & Grill, Southeast USA Rod Remus & Masked Cougar fight to a double-DQ, argue with Pee-Wee, and restart the match, with Rod winning (D-,E-,D-) Show rating: D- So two guys going for half an hour did just as well as our entire last broadcast. Oy. .... Ye Gods, TCW was on a hiring spree! Jay Chord, Steve Frehley, Carl Batch, Ricky Dale Johnson, Valiant (????), Eddie Peak, Nemesis (???!!!) Duane Fry, Christian Faith (!!!!) and more... luckily, if they'd cut their cruiser division a couple years ago, they'd never want most of our roster... so we could breath easy. We hoped. They -did- take Matt Sparrow away, after all, and had American Elemental on the roster... hrm... yeap, cruiserweight belts still inactive. Although it looked like Sparrow and Elemental were fueding over the All-Action Title. Next time, on the Coastal Zone: The build begins to Spring Break Bash! Who will get title shots? Who deserves them? And can we figure out where all those C- rated shows went? They were here last year...

Week 2, Tuesday CZCW American Tour Hunter's Town Hall, Midsouth USA Fox Mask defeats Mario Heroic with a fluke roll-up three minutes into a title match. Heroic argues with Pee-Wee to restart the match... and Pee-Wee declines. Fox offers to have a second match, and Heroic agrees. The second match goes seventeen minutes until Fox gets the pinfall (D-, D-, D-) Show rating: D- Well, that's... a little better. Unfortunately, Heroic's popularity isn't making up for his injury. And he was asking for even more money... over $1,700 an appearance, with a grand downside. We were going to have to consider that carefully. ... okay, done considering. Time to take the man with the broken spine and job the crap out of him! On the next Coastal Zone: Heroic Sacrifice, and the Spring Break Bash card!
El Bandito cuts a promo on Fox... in Spanish... and apparently, most of our crowd doesn't speak Spanish tonight
For some reason that gave me images of Manwell in a wrestling ring trying to cut a promo. That was a Fawlty Towers reference for anyone not in the UK! And shocked that Mario Heroic decided that he had nothing to lose by not showing up to his Loser Leaves Town match. For some reason I don't think that he thought he was going to win that one.

When a last-minute booking change results in your match of the night, you know something's got to be wrong... or, you know you're about to be Welcomed to the Coastal Zone! Fox Mask decided to join DAVE on a per-appearance contract. We disliked this very much, but couldn't do anything about it right now. P-Dawg had been late to the show, so we warned him again... and again, he ranted about being victimized... y'know what? We tried to give him a program as a favor to his brother and his CZCW ties, but now... someone just volunteered to be our new jobber. Now that's interesting. OLLIE's new head booker? Sam Keith. Yeah, my mind is boggled, too. We had to accept it... the indy shows were putting in better shows than we were (D+ shows to our D-). Somehow, we had to figure out what the problem was. Maybe Fox vs El Bandito would get a better rating in Mexico... April, 2009. Week 2, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from Palacio de Lucha, Northern Mexico --Alicia Strong def. Fearless Blue in seven minutes (D-) Masked Cougar is in the ring, talking about his win over Nemesis yesterday. Plague comes down to talk about his own win. Where we occasionally forget something very important... for months at a time... Welcome to the Coastal Zone! Well, that didn't take long. TCW has risen to Global size on the heels of a B-rated Clash of the Titans. This makes them the biggest promotion in the world, followed by the International NOTBPW and the nationals: BHOTWG and PGHW. Everyone else is Cult or lower. We're glad we weren't worried about the budget. Pee-Wee was asking for a raise in his salary, arguing that he was the only one who had to work twice a week. His arguement made sense, so we gave him the extra he was asking for. About this time, we realized what our problem was. At some point, we had to end our main event storyline... and we'd never restarted it! Fixing that should help some of our matches... April, 2009. Week 3, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Oaxaca High School, Western Mexico We open with El Bandito in the ring, claiming the despite his two losses, he's still the #1 Contender, simply because he's better than the rest of the Zone. Zenshin Makioka (E), then Fearless Blue def. Zenshin Makioka (E-), Blue and P-Dawg argue over who did it better (F+), and then Fearless Blue def. P-Dawg (E-). Show rating: E-. Well, that didn't help us... didn't hurt us either, but didn't hurt us. But this was only until the TV show ended... then we'd go back to hour-long events and really start upping our popularity. Next time, on the Coastal Zone: The Masked Cougar push continues, we look for some new faces, and finish off April... maybe we should start planning for the next big event?

Damn, you people make it hard to stay on the front page. Life ain't easy when you gotta bump yourself... I should know, I bumped myself for years before I got engaged. Welcome to the Coastal Bump! We began putting out feelers for new talents. Were we hoping to expand in the future, or were we rotating out some talent? Or just taking advantage of the number of people who were expanding their working horizons? April 2009, Week 4, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from Palacio del Lucha, Northern Mexico --Flyin' Jimmy Foxx def. Nathanial Casino in twelve minutes (E+) We announce Tidal Booking, with Marc Speed facing Snap Dragon next week (F) Hype video for Angel v Nemesis (E+) --Xtreme Title Ladder Match: Angel de Mexico(c) def. Nemesis II in thirteen minutes (D) Alicia asks Fox to the ring for a title match. Out comes Plague, saying he's done with the Xtreme Scene and he wants a title match. out comes Masked Cougar, saying he beat Bandito last week, and he wants the title match. We break it up into a tag match main event (E+) --Masked Cougar & Plague def. Alicia Strong & Fox Mask in sixteen minutes, Cougar pins Alicia (D) Show rating: D- TV rating: 0.01 April 2009, Week 4, Tuesday CZCW American Tour Biker's Paradise, New England, USA This show's stars are Rod Remus and El Bandit, righting to a fluke roll-up win for Remus in six minutes, arguing for a restart, getting it, and ending with another Remus win in sixteen (D-, E-, D-) Show rating: D- Well, that was a slightly odd month... we think we've found our footing tho, and we've got some decent plans for the future. Regretably, tho, Sensational Oligawaranaranawara declined our offer to come in for a feud with Alicia Strong. Oh, well. We did have a couple new names that should help us out a little... ... so the question was, were we getting rid of anyone? On the next Coastal Zone: Who's in negotiations, only to be told "Sorry, we think it's best you try to find work elsewhere"? And we've got a month left until our next big event... will we pull the trigger on Fox Mask vs Masked Cougar, or try something else?

Ah, another convert. Soon, the Tribe of the Extreme will... no, wait, that's taken. Soon, the Denizens of the Zone shall rise to power! Welcome to the Coastal Zone! May, 2009. Week 1, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from the Merida Resort, Southern Mexico We open with Fox Mask trying to decide who the #1 Contender is based on last night. He's about to name one, when out come El Leon. "You could choose a contender you've beaten before, esse... but how about trying your luck against me?" Fox agrees, and the match is on for tonight (E+) --Handicap Match: Masked Cougar def The Backyarders in twelve minutes (E+). Snap Dragon hypes his match (F+) --Snap Dragon def. Marc Speed in 11 minutes (D-) On his way to the ring, Fox is stopped by Masked Cougar. "If I win here tonight... you're the #1 Contender for Surf Slam." "I'll see you there, then." (D-) --CZCW Title: Fox Mask def. El Leon in seventeen minutes (D-) Show rating: D- TV rating: 0.01 Well, apparently even Cougar couldn't pull a D- out of the Backyarders... but hey, that would be asking too much of anyone. May, 2009, week 1, Monday CZCW American Tour Weston Gymnasium, Tristate USA A special show tonight, as we break formula. --Alicia Strong def. Nemesis II in sixteen minutes (D) Fox Mask considers allowing a title match tonight... and out comes... CAPTAIN USA! We've pulled our road agent out of mothballs, and he's getting a title shot tonight! (D-) --CZCW Title: Fox Mask def. Captain USA in five minutes (E+) Show rating: E+ Well, that was... a show. Apparently, we weren't the only ones noticing Nemesis had improved. He had just signed a PPA deal with DAVE. Interestingly enough, his dad wasn't with them anymore, having moved on to TCW. El Bandito signed up for a tour with KP-1. Cougar touring with INSPIRE. And everyone was getting new TV shows. SWF and NOTBPW were getting new shows, TCW and NOTBPW both got a new PPV deal. And here we were, voluntarily dropping our TV show. Oy. But we got to tell three people that we weren't renewing their contracts. Yeap, after a year and a half... we think... we'd decided to replace The Backyarders with jobbers who had more improvement potential. The trio had already hit their limits in most skills and, honestly, were just lumps of coal where we'd been hoping to find diamonds in the rough. Next time, on the Coastal Zone: Fox v Cougar at Surf Slam? What else can we put on that card in our last month of television?

Well, no bumpage, but we stayed on the front page. Welcome to the Coastal Zone... the can't all be winners, folks. Sorry no during-the-day update today. I got busy with a side project. Heroclix-related, so most of you probably won't be interested. May, 2009. Week 2, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from the sold-out Snake Pit We open with Plague and Alicia Strong in the ring, throwing insults at each other, degenerating into a brawl, and finally a match made for tonight (D) --Randy Matravers def. Cal Sanders and P-Dawg II in nine minutes (E) It's official: Fast Money will defend the Tidal Tag Titles against Air Force One at Surf Slam (E) --Nathaniel Casino def. Flyin' Jimmy Foxx in nine minutes with help from Marc Speed (D-) --X-Factor def. The Backyarders in five minutes (E) Hype video for Fox Mask vs Masked Cougar at Surf Slam (D-) --Alicia Strong def. Plague in eighteen minutes (C-!!!!) Show rating: D TV rating: 0.01 .... A C- MATCH!!!!!! FINALLY!!!! May 2009, week 2, Tuesday CZCW American Tour Rainbow Bar & Grill, Southeast USA El Bandito defeats Nemesis II with a low blow and handful of tights in five minutes. Nemesis then complains to Pee-Wee, who agrees to have a rematch right away, and this one goes sixteen before Nemesis gets the win (D, E+, D+) Show rating: D Wow... Nemesis and Bandito have good chemistry... who'd've thunk it? Between that and his friendship with Masked Cougar... Nemesis might be ready for another shot at a title in the future. So, we'd reminded P-Dawg that his place is where -we- think it is, not where -he- thinks it is... had a good TV main event... and found chemistry between two of our upper-placed workers. All in all, a good week. Next time, on the Coastal Zone: Fox v Cougar, Fast Money v Air Force 1... Nemesis v Bandito? Sure. But aren't we forgetting a title?

The second page. The second page never changes. It's where the unwanted dynasties go. Where new dynasties go to hope someone notices them. Where old dynasties go to die... or reinvent themselves. Welcome to the second page, Coastal Zone. Pop quiz: Name the two sources I mixed together for that opening. Winner gets to request a match on an upcoming card. May 2009, Week 3, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Live from Palacio de Lucha, Northern Mexico We start things off with a return! --Jeremiah Moose def. Fearless Blue in six minutes (E-) Moose then looks around, apparently surprised he won, and insists Pee-Wee raise Blue's hand instead (F+) --Snap Dragon def. Marc Speed in eight minutes (D-). Out comes Jimmy Foxx for some revenge from last week... but Casino is ready with chairs, and Air Force One gets beaten down! (F+) --Angel de Mexico & El Bandito def. Rod Remus & Nemesis II in twelve minutes when Bandio pins Nemesis (D-). Nemesis then gets on the mic and challenges Bandito to a one-on-one match at Surf Slam. Bandito accepts (D-) Hype video for Fox vs Cougar at Surf Slam (D-) --Masked Cougar def. El Leon in fourteen minutes (D) Show rating: D- TV rating: 0.01 May 2009, Week 3, Tuesday CZCW American Tour Live from Hunter's Town Hall, Midwest USA It's a special edition of the American Tour: Champion vs Champion! First, in an Xtreme Title Match, Angel de Mexico kicks Fox in the nards to retain his title, and after some jawing back and forth on the match, Fox gets a clean pin to retain his CZCW Title (D-, E+, D-) Show rating: D- Yeap, because nobody demanded it, Jeremiah Moose was back now that we no longer had to deal with Cliff's no-drinking/no-drugs policy. With the Backyarders going bye-bye, he'd fill a vital roll as lower-midcarder. We would also need to consider a new road agent at some point... Captain USA was royally ticked that we weren't letting him wrestle as the main-eventer he was. We were afraid this was having an effect on his road agenting. And now we had one more week to build up Surf Slam... Which means it's hard sell time! Next time, on the Coastal Zone: Two HUGE tag matches as Angel del Mexico leads the Mexican Revolution, and three faces and a heel split up into tag teams in the main event. Surf Slam is one week away, we're going to make it count!

It's official... I now have brainwashed cultist minions! Well, at least one. Welcome to the Cult-al Zone! In addition to bringing in Jeremiah Moose last week, as also signed another luchadore for the roster. We know he's lucha because his names starts with an 'El'... El Combatiente. And he makes four, so the Mexican Revolution is now an official stable. May, 2009, Week 4, Monday Welcome to the Coastal Zone Oaxaca High School, Western Mexico El Bandito in the ring, talking about how he has to wrestle a nobody like Nemesis when he should be challenging for the CZCW Title. Out comes Fox to tell Bandito that if he wants, he can have a match toni... no, wait, here comes Cougar, saying nobody gets a shot until he gets his. The three begin arguing... and Nemesis out of nowhere takes down Bandito! Four-way brawl! They finally get broken up, and a tag match is made for tonight! (D-) --Rod Remus, Alicia Strong & P-Dawg def. Angel de Mexico, El Leon, and El Combatiente in twenty minutes, Remus forces Angel to submit. (D-) We get a hype video for Fox v Cougar (D), one for Bandito v Nemesis (E+), and one for a six-man Xtreme Title Ladder Match between... the six people I typed out earlier (E) --Fox Mask & Nemesis def. El Bandito & Masked Cougar in seventeen minutes, Nemesis pins Bandito when Cougar refuses to cheat to help him (D+). Show rating: D TV rating: 0.01 ... mutiny! Foxx, Makioka, and Captain USA all showed up late. Y'know... forget it. Let 'em be late. May, 2009, week 4, Tuesday CZCW American Tour Stanley Hall, Mid-Atlantic USA This week it's Masked Cougar and El Bandito going at it again, Bandito getting the heel win early on, bickering and a restart, and a face victory after a longer match at the end (D-, E-, D-) Show rating: D- Annnnd that's all the buildup we'll get to do. Hopefully we did well, as Surf Slam marks the end of our TV show... it'd be a bummer to end on a downer note... A quick look at the current 'TV Wars': Wednesday, from midnight to 1am, SWF and SOTBPW compete (SWF is getting the better of it). Fridays is where it starts to get ugly, with SOTBPW from 8 to 10, and PGHW and NOTBPW both from 9 to 11. Saturday is the true battleground, with NOTBPW and BHOTWG from 11 to 1, and DAVE, OLLIE, and SWF from midnight to 1. NOTBPW is winning that one by a wide margin (12.6 to BHOTWG's 5.5). Everyone and their brother seems to have a TV show... and we're giving up ours? Well... nobody ever accused us of following the pack... On the next Coastal Zone: CZCW Surf Slam! CZCW Title: Fox Mask vs Masked Cougar Xtreme Title 6-Man Ladder Match: Angel del Mexico, Alicia Strong, El Leon, El Combatiente, P-Dawg II, Rod Remus Tidal Tag Titles match: Fast Money vs Air Force One El Bandito vs Nemesis II One match to be announced, probably involving Plague.
