  1. UBL 13: Platinum Defends - Perry vs. Price

    PRESS CONFERENCE

Featuring our own: CEO - Whana Dite, UBL Welterweight Champion - Mike Perry & the challenger - Niko Price; UBL Flyweight Champion - Magomed Bibulatov & the challenger - Tim Eliott.

Whana Dite (Whana): Good evening, everyone. We're here to get hot and hyped for one HELLUVA card. These violent geniuses are here to answer any question that you'll throw at 'em.

Reporter ®: Whana, Hakeem got a title shot coming off a loss in the inaugural tournament, and now Price and Eliott are getting the same free second chance. Is this due to lack of challengers?

Whana: Lack of challengers? I've got MVP ready to go coming off two great W's in the company, on a 6 fight winning spree. At flyweight, we've got a tournament going on with tons of quality contenders. Magomed said he wants Elliott, I respect Magomed, so I gave him who he wanted, as he'll face whoever he'll have to in the following rounds, shall he beat Tim. At featherweight, Topuria wanted to fight Dawodu, I gave him Dawodu, do we think we lack contenders with guys like Barboza, Bektic and Chikadze? And Jeremy Kennedy, and Fili. And at welterweight, Mike Perry wanted Niko Price. Can you look Niko in the eye and tell him he's not worth a title shot?

R: Sorry about that. Now, about the fighters we've got here today. Magomed, you've taken quite some time off after winning the belt. Were you not feeling healthy?

Magomed Bibulatov (MB): You know, some champions see they're at the top and choose to fight once per year. I fought 8 rounds in one night to win my belt. And I am here, 7 months later, ready to defend. Congratulations to the fellow champions that have already defended, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only UBL champion that went through 8 rounds to get his title.

R: Fair enough. You stirred a bit of controversy when you named Tim as the first men you wanted to defend against, and more followed when Whana booked this fight. Why Tim Elliott out of all people?

MB: The division has many talented contenders, but most of them don't have a name as big as Tim Elliott. He is a fan favourite, he has an enjoyable style and he is a threat to anyone he faces. He's coming off loss, so what? Tim could come off 5 first round KO losses and still be dangerous, this is what I believe. So of course I want to fight him as soon as possible.

R: Tim, how do you feel to have this opportunity?

Tim Elliott (Tim): Great, really. I've been fighting my whole life at the highest of levels, and I can beat anyone on my day, everyone knows it. Time to show what I'm made off and cement my legacy, and also give the fans what they want to see, a great fight.

R: So you're feeling up for the challenge?

Tim: Yes, heeell yes. I've been working on some slick, slick takedowns, got some hard BJJ work done as well. I'm ready for anything he'll bring.

    MD: We'll see that.

R: Mike Perry, you're coming off a great performance that earned you the belt, against Li.

Mike Perry (Perry): I was great, wasn't I?

R: Why did you call out Niko, who lost to Li.

Perry: Because he's a dog. I'm a dog. Raw dog. And I believe that MMA fans love seeing dog fights. And if the dog fight goes for 5 rounds, it's even better. Perry vs. Price is a match made in Heaven. It doesn't matter that he lost to Li, y'all know Price is the real deal. Unlike Li.

R: You didn't sound so respectful when you called him out post-fight, tho. Did you, like, start respecting him as you got ready for the fight?

Perry: I respect the fight that he's a dog. But he's still gonna get wrecked. But I believe he'll go out swinging, and I guess I kinda do respect that. So, maybe I respect him? Who cares, I'll slap him and demolish him anyway.

R: How did you feel when Mike called you out, Niko?

Niko Price (Niko): Annoyed when he got disrespectful, you know, but then I realized this guy is basically handing me over his belt. I'm not gonna get mad 'cause this guy wants to give me a title shot, I'm as game as it gets and when the fight ends this guy will wake up in the hospital and realize what a big mistake he's made.

Perry: Good, that's what I want. A fool that sees red and comes swinging. I'm getting the KO this time, no doubt.

    Niko: You're getting KOed, buddy.

Perry: Good. High Kid Niko Price gonna smoke me, that's on record, awesome.

Whana: Alright, gentlemen, anymore questions? Nothing? Alright, let's have the staredowns.

The flyweights meet first. Magomed is wearing a nice suit, while Elliott is looking as if he's straight out the TUF house. They shake hands afterwards, as it seems it's strictly business between these two.

The welterweights go next. Perry puts his fist close to Niko's face during the staredown, and no one attempts a handshake. He also screams "SMOKE ME, NIKO, I'LL RAW DAWG YOU, CLOWN", as they leave the center of the stage, and Price laughs it off as they both leave the stage, and the broadcast ends.

  2. Another drug test failure!

Long time no see, drug cheaters! Timur Valiev, you're tryna take everything the fair lads work for, so we're gonna suspend yo' f'n' ass, you TRT freak!

UBL 12: CROSS THE LINE - Mir vs. Goltsov

    24 September, 2021

    Somewhere in Eastern Europe

    Prelims:

LHW: Reinier de Ridder defeats Antonio Rogerio Nogueira by TKO @4:25, round 2. The great Big Nog announces his retirement following this bout, aged 45, with a 23-12 record. De Ridder calls out Jordan Johnson.

W FlyW: Justine Kish defeats Priscila Cachoeira by UD (30-27 x 3). Kish calls out Daiana Torquato.

LHW: #15 Jordan Johnson defeats Julius Anglickas by UD (30-27 x 3). Johnson says he wouldn't mind beating de Ridder.

FW: Andre Harrison defeats #14 Alex Gilpin by UD (30-27 x 2, 29-28).

FW: Henry Corrales defeats #12 Damon Jackson by KO @0:32, round 1.

W BW: #13 Kelly Faszhols defeats #9 Tonya Evinger by Armbar Submission @2:10, round 1.

W FlyW: #8 Kana Watanabe defeats #14 Stephanie Geltmacher by Guillotine Submission @0:48, round 2. Following the impressive win, 33yo Watanabe surprisingly announces her retirement from the sport, with an impecable 11-0-1 record.

    Main card:

    1. Featherweight Bout: #6 Andre FILI (21-9, +160) vs. #8 Cody STAMANN (19-4-1, -210)

Round 1: Stamann shoots hard as the fight starts, and Fili can't help but pull guard. Stamann comes in with some fists and defends when Fili tries to grab an arm. Stamann gets striking again and not allowing Fili to do much. But eventually, Fili secures the arm on his second attempt! He manages to get Stamann in a triangle, and it looks like it's in deep! BUT STAMANN GETS UP AND POWERBOMBS FILI! BUT FILI WON'T LET GO! THERE'S THE TAP, FILI GETS THE W!

Winner: Andre Fili (Triangle submission @2:22, round 1). Rating: Great.

Post-fight: Fili is looking hella proud of this perfomance, as he should, and he says it's been a tough camp and he can't wait to celebrate this victory.

Fili broke in the world FW rankings, at #23.

    2. Light Heavyweight Tournament Quarter-Final (shout-out to CageRage!): #6 Rashid YUSUPOV (13-3, +120) vs. #7 Ivan SHTYRKOV (18-2-1, -160)

Round 1: Yusupov comes in aggresive, misses with the left, gets struck with the jab but dodges the bomb of a cross that Shtyrkov threw. They both then miss with some wild shots, and Shtyrkov comes forward for the next exchange and catches Yusupov with a right hook. Yusupov then throws a flurry of strikes but only lands a small right, while Shtyrkov hits him cleanly with his hellish right. Yusupov hits the jab but misses the left hook, and Shtyrkov punishes him with another clean right. Yusupov dodges the next big right but misses with his own strong counter left. Shtyrkov is walking Yusupov down, dodging a left and coming in with a big right hand, but Yusupov keeps eating 'em, to the surprise of many. Then again, Yusupov dodges the big strike but misses his big counter. Shtyrkov blocks a hook and hits another right. Shtyrkov keeps pushing forward, but both men miss their strikes this time and Shtyrkov is starting to breath a little heavy, maybe he wasn't expecting Yusupov to last this long? Yusupov hits a 1-2 as Shtyrkov hits a cross, and Shtyrkov gets in a jab before the round is over. Obvious 10-9 for Shtyrkov, but his gas tank wasn't built to last long, so Yusupov might get the W if it lasts to a decision.

Round 2: As Shtyrkov comes forward, he lets Yusupov's counter shots hit him and fails to land his 1-2. Then, they hit each other with powerful jab-hook combos, AND SHTYRKOV IS THE ONE WHO SEEMINGLY GOT THE WORST OF IT! Yusupov hits him with the straight left! AND THE LEFT HOOK LEAVES SHTYRKOV BOUNCING OFF THE CAGE! YUSUPOV KEEPS SWARMING HIM AND YVES LAVIGNE STOPS IT!

Winner: Rashid Yusupov (Swarmin' TKO @0:44, round 2). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: "First, I would like to thank company for this great opportunity. If I could make it through this great opponent, I believe I can make it through anything and become champion. Da Un Jung, I can not wait to face you and earn my title shot. Be ready and be at your best."

Yusupov will face Da Un Jung in the semi-finals of the LHW tournament, with the winner meeting the LHW champion in the finals. Yusupov broke in the world LHW rankings, at #24.

    3. Women's Flyweight Bout: #3 Pearl GONZALEZ (11-5, -110) vs. #7 Denise KIELHOLTZ (6-3, +100)

Round 1: Kielholtz pressures early on, and Pearl hits 2 jabs but gets struck with a jab and a big right from Kielholtz. Again, Kielholtz pushes forward, gets struck twice but this time connects with a great head kick, that Gonzalez surprisingly eats well. Kielholtz now hits a big 1-2. Pearl hits a jab while waling back, and then takes a left hand and a kick to the ribs from Kielholtz. Kielholtz keeps pressuring and htis a beautiful straight right. Pearl mans up and stands her ground, nailing Kielholtz with a cross, but she also eats 2 punches and a roundhouse body kick. Kielholtz eats a jab but hits a low kick. Then she hits a right to the body. Pearl then eats a jab but dodges a head kick. Kielholtz keeps pressuring and hitting Pearl with jabs and then a right hook. And as we enter the last 15 seconds, KIELHOLTZ HITS A SPECTACULAR JAB-HEAD KICK COMBO! But the round ends and the ref decides to let the fight continue to round 2 despite Pearl taking a big beating following that head kick. 10-8 for Kielholtz for sure.

Round 2: Kielholtz keeps pressuring Gonzalez and hits a jab-body kick combo, and then a hard straight right. But finally Pearl gets her opening as she manages to catch Kielholtz's leg off a body kick attempt. She can't take her down, so she ends up holding Kielholtz against the cage. But she can only hold her there for about a minute, but she did some decent damage while in control. Still, back in the center, Kielholtz unleashes with a good jab-straight combo, and then a jab-jab-low kick combo. Seemingly slowing down, Kielholtz hits with another low kick. But then she tries an ambitious jab-headkick combo that misses and Pearl gets the clinch! She uses some dirty boxing there until the end of the round. Another round for Kielholtz, 20-17.

Round 3: Pearl wanted to get close to grapple, but she walked right into a jab that set up a lovely head kick, and Pearl's now wobbling! Kielholtz gets the Thai clinch! She hits a massive knee to the sternum, and then another big one to the ribs, but Gonzalez blocks the third knee and breaks the clinch. 3 minutes left. Again, Pearl wants to grapple but walks into Kielholtz's jab-body hook combo. And then Kielholtz hits Pearl with a hard combo of straight punches, and Pearl is wobbling again! And Kielholtz gets the Thai clinch again! She sends a big knee to the stomach! But Pearl fights out of the clinch eventually, and we have 75 seconds left. Kielholtz hits a beautiful straight right, and Gonzalez is looking hurt again... But aware enough to move out of the way of Kielholtz's big right. Kielholtz hits a hard right cross, and Pearl is hurt yet again... AND A BIG RIGHT HOOK FINALLY DROPS HER! But the ref wants to see murder, so he allows Kielholtz to smash Pearl with massive strikes before time runs out for round 3. If there ever was a 10-7, this was it, but for the sake of it, we'll just call it another 10-8 for Kielholtz. 30-25 for Kielholtz on my scorecard.

Winner: Denise Kielholtz (UD: 30-26 x 2, 30-25). Rating: Decent. I don't know how such violence can only be "decent", but alright...

Post-fight: Kielholtz admires her opponent's toughness and says she can't wait to get in here in prove her worth yet again.

    4. Lightweight Bout: #4 Drakkar KLOSE (12-3-1, -150) vs. #5 Arman TSARUKYAN (15-3, +110)

Round 1: Tsarukyan hits a jab but Klose is soon clinching with him. Klose gets Tsarukyan against the cage. But Tsarukyan escapes before taking any damage. But Klose dodges a straight right and clinches again. He gets Tsarukyan against the cage again, but yet again Tsarukyan escapes with ease.. WHAT A FIGHT! Tsarukyan throws a wild combo that doesn't connect and Klose catches his leg off a head kick attempt. Holding it, he trips him and ends up in his opponent's guard. From guard, Klose is content to throw minor strikes for the remaining 3 minutes of the round, in what was an electric 1st round. 10-9 Klose.

Round 2: Tsarukyan starts better, landing a good left and a right cross. But he misses with his 2nd 1-2 and Klose clinches -> pushes against the cage -> Tsarukyan escapes immediately. Spectacular stuff. And check this out! Tsarukyan misses another combo -> ends up in another clinch BUT HE DOESN'T LET KLOSE PUSH HIM AROUND THIS TIME! Tsarukyan gets the takedown! He's in Klose's guard. He smothers him and hits a few shots, and in the last 30 seconds, he gets side control off a scramble. From there, he pounds away until the round is over. 19-19 for sure.

Round 3: Klose pushes forward, walking into a jab-straight right combo from Tsarukyan. But as tradition demands, Tsarukyan misses all strikes in the following combo and Klose clinches -> pushes against the cage -> Tsarukyan escapes immediately. Do you know what the definition of insanity is? Klose might not know it. As Klose wanted to get klose (*ba dum tss*), Tsarukyan nailed him with a jab and a big right! Tsarukyan pushes forward and misses his strikes, but as Klose comes forward to grapple, Tsarukyan throws him off with a strong low kick. But Tsarukyan misses a 1-2 and Klose clinches again. He gets him against the cage and keeps him there this time, smothering and dirty boxing him. He does so for about 90 seconds, until the round ends. Hard to call this round, but I'd say it was Klose's, sadly. 29-28 Klose on my scorecard.

Official scorecards: 29-28 Tsarukyan. 29-28 Klose. 29-28 Klose.

Winner: Drakkar Klose (Split Decision). Rating: Average.

Post-fight: Klose congratulates his opponent for the good fight and says he'll grow into a great fighter, but right now it's time for him to have the spotlight and fight his way into another title shot. The crowd boos as he says "fight his way", likely not happy with Klose's wrestlingish ways.

Klose went up in the world LW rankings, from #24 to #21.

    5. And now, IT IS TIME FOR THE MAAAIN EVEEENT OF THE EVENIIING! A Heavyweight bout, between:

Frank MIR (20-13, +110) vs. Denis "THE RUSSIAN BOGATYR" GOLTSOV (25-6, -150)

Mir has about 25 lbs on Goltsov.

Round 1: They feel each other out early on. Goltsov blocks a weak head kick attempt and hits a jab but misses a body kick. Mir then comes in with a left hook and dodges a head kick attempt from Goltsov. Goltsov then misses with a big right, and gets countered with 2 jabs and a nice hook from Mir. Goltsov seems off today, as he misses a right cross and gets countered yet again, with a jab-left cross combo. Goltsov keeps pushing, and they trade some jabs. Goltsov blocks a hook and hits a good 1-2. They trade some more jabs, and Mir ends a combo with a nice left cross, but Goltsov answers with a violent right hook, but it looks like Goltsov got caught with a nasty eye poke there! He gets a break, and the action restarts. Goltsov keeps coming forward and he hits a hard combo of straight strikes. Then, Mir dodges a right and hits a good jab-hook combo. They trade some more jabs, and as we reach the last 10 seconds, Goltsov dodges a cross and hits another big right hook, and it's round over. Great action, close round, I have it 10-9 for Goltsov.

Round 2: They come out cautious, and Mir is looking a bit tired here. Goltsov makes his way through Mir's guard with a 1-2. Both men miss a bunch of strikes in the first 2 minutes, tho. Then, Mir comes with a good jab-low kick combo, but gets touched with a clean right hand, and Goltsov starts breathing heavier too. Goltsov misses a cross and Mir hits a jab-body kick combo. Both men seem more cautious this time around. Goltsov dodges a straight left and hits a right hook. They trade some decent 1-2s. As we reach the last minute, Mir is visibly pretty tired. He tries ot hit a big left, but Goltsov just jabs him, setting up A MASSIVE RIGHT HOOK, AND THE LIGHTS JUST WENT OUT FOR FRANK MIR, JUST LIKE THAT!

Winner: Denis Goltsov (Hook KO @4:17, round 2). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: Mir announces his retirement following the fight, aged 42, with a 20-14 record. Goltsov celebrates starting his UBL run by retiring a legend, and says he's here for both a good and a long run.

He has been working hard on his striking since, which is not surprising since his striking is his only competitive game, having especially good low kicks and creative striking, plus a tough chin and good takedown defence. Stamann got caught in an armbar triangle in his last fight, but that got turnend to a NC because Weichel was on both PEDs and TRT. Stamann is mainly a wrestler, altho he will throw the occasional killer head kick. Still, pressuring with wrestling and eventually looking for submissions is his main thing. It's the classic wrestler vs. striker matchup, and both fighters need the win as they're coming off pairs of losses (Stamann lost to Jimmie Rivera and Kevin Belingon before the Weichel fight).

    Prediction: Stamann by decision.

    2. Light Heavyweight Tournament Quarter-Final (shout-out to CageRage!): #6 Rashid YUSUPOV (13-3, +120) vs. #7 Ivan SHTYRKOV (18-2-1, -160)

As Mauricio Rua gave up his place in the LHW Tournament, this bout was set up to decide who takes his place and moves forward to face Da Un Jung for a title shot. Yusupov debuted in the UBL with a bang, TKOing Aleksei Butorin in less than a minute. Despite that, he's not a great boxer, altho' he does have pretty good power in his hands. He is a sambo master with good wrestling and a good enough ground game to present trouble to everyone, and he also has a pretty good chin. When facing Shtyrkov, tho, a pretty good chin might not be enough. Like Rashid, Shtyrkov won in his UBL debut by TKO in less than a minute. Unlike Rashid, Shtyrkov actually has some good technique in those hands, and when it comes to power, let's just say that "Polish Power" and "The Hulk" Cutelaba don't have anything on "The Ural Hulk". He also has decent wrestling, but a lackluster ground game, so Yusupov might have the edge in grappling, if he can close the distance without getting anihilated by the nuclear bombs that Shtyrkov calls fists.

Prediction: Shtyrkov by 1st round KO.

PS: Shtyrkov please don't pop for PEDs.

    3. Women's Flyweight Bout: #3 Pearl GONZALEZ (11-5, -110) vs. #7 Denise KIELHOLTZ (6-3, +100)

After an impressive debut vs. JJ Aldrich, Pearl must be 1 win away from a title shot, here. Peal is a BJJ fighter whose only key to victory is getting the fight down and looking for the sub. Meanwhile, Kielholtz is a kickboxer that went 6-1 in Bellator before making her way to the UBL, where she lost her debut by 1st round TKO against our current champion, Mariya Agapova. She has good hands and good technique with her kicks, good takedown defence and good submission defence as well, meaning that she's likely to be a tough night at the office for Pearl.

Prediction: Kielholtz by 1st round KO.

    4. Lightweight Bout: #4 Drakkar KLOSE (12-3-1, -150) vs. #5 Arman TSARUKYAN (15-3, +110)

Klose is coming off an unsuccessful title challenge, where Gillespie subbed him with ease, in the 1st round. Since then, Klose has been working to strenghten his already good wrestling skills and to fill the few holes of his ground game - his subbmissions and positional ability. On the feet, he'll come forward with techinal boxing and some strong low kicks, but his chin ain't the toughest. Tsarukyan is making his return after being KOd cold by Fiziev in the first round of the inaugural LW Tournament. He's a strong striker, altho his technique isn't the most crisp. He has a good clinch and great TD defence, good top control and scrambles and great submission defence. I expect to see Tsarukyan manage to keep it on the feet and eventually finish Klose.

Prediction: Tsarukyan by 3rd round KO.

    5. Heavyweight Bout: Frank MIR (20-13, +110) vs. Denis GOLTSOV (25-6, -150)

Mir has put together back to back wins for the first time since 2015, coming off a UD win over Roy Nelson in Bellator and a 2nd round TKO win over Jake Heun. Time is taking it's toll on him, but he remains a quality grappler and a pretty strong puncher. Goltsov is coming off a 3-1 run in the PFL, where he got TKO'd in the last seconds of the fight in his last fight. He's an incredible wrestler and smothering top control plus great sub defence, while also armed with good boxing on the feet. With other words, no more easy fights for Mir.

    Prediction: Goltsov by decision.

    Main card:

    1. Women's Flyweight Bout: #2 Ariane LIPSKI (14-7, -540) vs. #8 J.J. ALDRICH (8-5, +430)

Round 1: Lipski gets countered with a wonderful hook early on, as Aldrich is looking to show she's no pushover. They trade some good rights, and Lipski misses with a short flurry of punches. But then she counters with a jab-low kick combo. Aldrich gets stung with a right but hits a good 1-2. They trade some jabs and Lipski connects with a nice right hook. Aldrich hits a body kick, and Lipski punishes her with a clean right, and Aldrich is looking hurt! Lipski easily hooks her in the Thai clinch. BIG KNEE TO THE HEAD! AND A MASSIVE ELBOW FROM LIPSKI SEES ALDRICH CRUMBLE TO THE FLOOR! SHE'S OUT COLD!

Winner: Ariane Lipski (Thai clinch elbow KO @4:03, round 1). Rating: Great.

The ladies connected with a total of 9 big strikes in just 4 minutes of fighting.

Post-fight: Lipski praises JJ's toughness and reminds everyone that she's not called "The Violence Queen" for nothing, she's always game and looking to fight again as soon as possible.

Lipski broke in the world W FlyW rankings, at #25.

    2. Bantamweight Tournament Quarter-Final: #2 Rani YAHYA (27-11-1-1, -110) vs. #5 Montel JACKSON (9-3, +100)

Round 1: Jackson checks a low kick and hits a 1-2. They waste some movement and then Yahya steps forward. Jackson sticks a jab and dodges Yahya's offense. They trade a few jabs and Yahya also hits a low kick. Then Yahya dodges a hook and hits a body kick. Yahya keeps going to the body with a good hook, but Jackson fights back with a jab-jab-hook combo. Yahya looks calm, but Jackson surprisingly shoots and gets him against the cage, but then steps back, apparently only wanting to prove he can grapple as well as he can strike. Jackson blocks a kick and hits a good left. Jackson hits a clean right, but Yahya nails a jab and a glancing head kick. Jackson then misses with a left hook AND YAHYA ROCKS HIM WITH A HEAD KICK, JACKSON FALLS! Yahya's pounding with no mercy, and only the ref can stop him!

Winner: Rani Yahya (Kick & Pound TKO @4:24, round 1). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: *basic interview that's both basic & boring*

Yahya broke in the world BW rankings, at #24. Yahya will face Jack Shore in the semi-finals.

    3. Featherweight Bout: #2 Edson BARBOZA (21-10, -670) vs. #8 Nik LENTZ (30-12-2-1, +530)

Round 1: Lentz shoots straight away and gets the takedown! Barboza was NOT expecting that! Or was he!? Guillotine attempt! But Lentz escapes quickly. Lentz smothers his opponent and can't really connect with his punches, but defends well when Barboza tries to grab an arm. Lack of activity forces the ref to get the lads up with 2 minutes left in round 1. Lentz shoots again, but lighting doesn't strike twice, as Barboza sprawls well this time, and hits a jab-spinning body kick combo as Lentz gets up. But Lentz dodges out of Barboza's next combo and shoots again! Barboza pulls guard but he tries the guillotine again! It seems to be sunk in, but it isn't clear. What's certain is that the end of the round came before any tap from Lentz. 10-9 for Lentz, but Barboza is looking mighty and confident as he talks to the corner in the break.

Round 2: Barboza comes forward with confidence. He follows his jab up with a wonderful head kick, and Lentz seems stunned. Barboza hits a straight right, but out of nowhere Lentz shoots, BUT BARBOZA HITS HIM WITH AN EVIL KNEE! Lentz kinda BenAskren'd himself, he's out cold. Damn.

Winner: Edson Barboza (Kneestrike KO @0:40, round 2). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: "I am glad to get such a good win here. I can't wait to fight again, I don't care if it's for the belt or not, I want to fight, impress and again fight as often as possible, to provide my family the best lifestyle possible."

Barboza went up in the world FW rankings, from #15 to #13.

    4. And now, FOR THE UBL FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE:

    © Ilia TOPURIA (12-0, -500) vs. #3 "MEAN" Hakeem DAWODU (13-2-1, +350)

Round 1: Topuria hits a jab and Hakeem hits a roundhouse body kick. Topuria stares Hakeem patiently, dodges a jab but gets stuck with another body kick. Topuria hits a left hand and eats a 1-2. Then, Hakeem dodges a right and hits another solid 1-2. Hakeem then hits a left but misses with a head kick, but Topuria still refrains from shooting. Hakeem hits a left while Topuria finally comes in with a brave jab-cross combo. Dawodu overcommits with an offensive combo that wasn't landing, and Topuria manags to catch a leg. Easy takedowm for Topuria, as he gets side control. AND HE MANAGES TO LOCK IN THE AMERICANA! That's it!

Winner, AND STILL UBL FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION: Ilia TOPUUURIAAA (Americana Submission @3:38, round 1). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: Questioned if he thinks Barboza is the right guy to challenge next, Ilia thanks Whana Dite for giving him the Hakeem fight he had asked for and says he'll defend against whoever Whana thinks he should. "I'll do what's best for business".

Title Prestige: Up from 64 to 66. Topuria went up in the world FW rankings, from #17 to #6, while Dawodu fell off the list, from #20.

    5. And now, IT IS TIME FOR THE MAAAIN EVEEENT OF THE EVENING! A Welterweight Bout, betweem:

#4 Ismail "THE AUSTRIAN WONDERBOY" NAURDIEV (22-4, -170) vs. #11 Yaroslav "DYNAMO" AMOSOV (26-0, +130)

Round 1: Naurdiev comes in with a hard jab-cross combo. Amosov backs away and shoots with one of his 1000 unstoppable takedowns, and Naurdiev manages to pull guard. But Naurdiev defends very well on the ground for the first minute, keeping the hardworking Amosov in his guard. Tired of the grappling circle he can't break, Amosov starts delivering small strikes to his opponent. Finally, a scramble sees Amosov holding Naurdiev in a waist lock, on the feet. Amosov slams him down in style, and gets his hooks in. But Naurdiev doesn't let him sink the RNC, and even tries to escape those hooks. But Amosov keeps trying and gets the RNC in, but with only 5 seconds left, and Naurdiev lives to fight another round. 10-9 for Amosov.

Round 2: Naurdiev dodges a good right and hits another jab-cross combo. He pushes forward and hits a jab and a body kick. But if Amosov knows anything, it's how to time a takedown, and he shoots at the right moment, with his scary speed, and the single leg TD sees him end up in Naurdiev's guard. Amosov hits a few punches, but again has a very hard time when trying to pass guard. About 90 seconds later, a scramble finally sees them back up, as Amosov pushes Naurdiev against the cage. He takes Naurdi back to the floor with a suplex, but ends up in guard again. But Naurdiev scrambles well and he ends up on top, in Amosov's guard, with 100 seconds left in round 2! But soon they're back up off another scramble, and Amosov holds Naurdiev against the cage again. He takes Naurdiev down with another violent suplex, leaving him seated against the cage. They both strike each other for a while, and Naurdiev defends well against another choke attempt, and that's it for round 2. 20-18 Amosov.

Round 3: Fireworks early on, as Amosov glances Naurdi with a high kick but gets stung with a 1-2. Naurdiev then unleashes with a DAMN mean hook, but is looking to tire out a bit. Naurdi chops at Amosov with a BIG low kick, and follows up with a straight right, getting Amosov a cut under the eye. But Amosov walks through that right and clinches, pushing Naurdi against the cage. Again, Amosov suplexes Naurdi with grace and ease, securing side control this time. He hits a few shots, and as he wanted the mount, Naurdi scrambles back up, but again gets pressed hard against the cage. Amosov's grappling pressure seems unstoppable, altho advancing when in top control has been difficult for him today. Of course, Amosov suplexes Naurdiev again, and traps his legs as he presses him as Naurdi sits against the cage. Amosov moves smoothly into side control looking for the arm triangle! But Naurdiev defends the sub attempt, and tries, with no success, to transition to guard, as the round ends. Naurdiev nailed some big strikes in the 1st minute, but you simply can't deny Amosov's dominance. 30-27.

Round 4: Naurdi comes forward and even steps in the pocket, but misses with his 1-2. Still, he pressures with confidence, and hits a nice jab-straight right combo. Both men seem to tire out a bit. They both miss in a striking exchange, and Amosov shoots once again, and gets a single leg TD and now sits in guard once more. He then advances to half guard and hits a few elbows. Time passes with little action, then, Naurdiev tries to scramble away, but gets put under Amosov's side control. Amosov fires a few small shots and ends up on top in North-South, off a scramble. Amosov moves back into side control, tho, where he throws a few shots until the round is over. 40-36 for Amosov, but it must be said that Naurdiev doesn't need more than the right punch to finish the fight.

Round 5: Naurdi comes forward again, jabs and misses the low-kick, and he's looking as tired as you'd expect. Amosov clinches again. He pushes him into the fence and suplexes him again, and Naurdiev pulls half-guard. Amosov gets the side control, and starts striking when he sees Naurdiev won't let him get the mount. After minutes of small shots, Naurdiev can't keep his defense efficient anymore, and Amosov takes the back as Naurdi tried to defend the mount attempt. But he can't get the RNC, and the round soon ends. 5 rounds of hell for Naurdiev, as Amosov dominated. 50-45 for Amosov on my scorecard.

Winner: Yaroslav AMOSOV (UD: 50-45, 49-46 x 2). Rating: Great.

Post-fight: Amosov admits he can't help but admire Naurdiev's defensive BJJ but proclaims that he's the best wrestler in MMA and he will keep it straight on his path to greatness.

Naurdiev fell off the world WW rankings.

    Main card preview:

    1. Women's Flyweight Bout: #2 Ariane LIPSKI (14-7, -540) vs. #8 J.J. ALDRICH (8-5, +430)

Lipski is finally making her comeback after losing in her effort to become the first ever UBL Flyweight Queen, after beating Botelho by 2nd round TKO, but getting choked by De La Rosa 3 minutes into the fight. As expected, she's still improving well, both on her already good striking and ground game, but also on her underdeveloped wrestling. She remains a good striker whose main qualities are her power strikes and her defensive BJJ, altho' she still can't do much against elite grapplers, as De La Rosa proved. JJ Aldrich is also coming off a quick submission loss in her alst fight, against Pearl Gonzalez. Her style is similar with that of Lipski, but with a better chin and much weaker wrestling and ground game. I expect a back and forth striking bout, and I wouldn't be surprised if JJ manages to KO Lipski!

Prediction: Aldrich by 3rd round KO.

    2. Bantamweight Tournament Quarter-Final: #2 Rani YAHYA (27-11-1-1, -110) vs. #5 Montel JACKSON (9-3, +100)

Both fighters are coming of Ls in the inaugural BW Tournament. Yahya lost in the final, after defeating the PED addict that is Said Nurmagomedov (I forgot to cut Said for that! Will do!). The veteran is a very well rounded fighter, with good striking and wrestling, but at his best on the ground, searching for submissions from both top or bottom. Still, he likes coming out swinging and only gets his grappling going when that can't seal the deal. Jackson is coming off a loss to current champion Ricky Simon. He is mainly a grappler, altho he has decent power in those hands. Still, he's quite off from being elite, so I expect Yahya to dominate, but Montel does have the capacity to pull of an upset on a good night.

    Prediction: Yahya by decision.

    3. Featherweight Bout: #2 Edson BARBOZA (21-10, -670) vs. #8 Nik LENTZ (30-12-2-1, +530)

Edson is 1-4 in his last 5 UFC bouts, coming off a UD loss to Max Holloway. The UFC veteran left the Octagon with a 16-10 record in his time with the company, getting big wins over the likes of Felder, Showtime Pettis, Gil Melendez, Hooker and Dariush. He's an amazing fighter all around, altho his chin is not as tough as it used to be. On the feet, his low kicks are axes chopping wood, and his head kicks are katana's cutting heads. In the wrestling department, his main quality is sprawling, altho' he has some good offensive wrestling that he can use, but mostly chooses not to. He's also capable in the Thai clinch. And on the ground, he is as good as anyone in the division, with especially good top control and sub' defence. Lentz is on a 3 fight losing streak, with the latest being a UD loss to Bektic in his UBL debut. He is mostly a boring grinder and his decline is quite obvious, with his retirement being rumoured. Well, as it is in pro wrestling, we'll try to have Lentz put some of the guys over on his way out, as we don't expect him to pose much of a threat to Edson. Still, miracles do happen, but I can't see Nik having any ace up his sleeve this time.

Prediction: Barboza by 2nd round KO.

    4. Featherweight Title: © Ilia TOPURIA (12-0, -500) vs. #3 Hakeem DAWODU (13-2-1, +350)

On the night of the inaugural FW Tournament, Topuria fought on the prelims and called out Dawodu. Dawodu didn't leave the night as a champion, but Topuria soon got himself the belt after a fine bout with Evloev, and now he's getting the fight he wants, against Mean Hakeem. Always a hard worker, Topuria is likely one of the best wrestlers we have in the whole company and is working hard on rounding both his striking and his already great ground game. A phenomenal wrestler on the feet, he can snatch submissions from top control or put his powerful hands to good use in striking exchanges on the feet. Mean Hakeem did short work of Andre Fili in his UBL debut, TKOing him in the 2nd, but lost all 5 rounds in his title fight with Movsar Evloev. Since then, he's been working hardo n his clinch work and ground game, and also has been looking to add some aces up his sleeve in the striking department, which is likely the only place where he'll pose any threat to the champion.

Prediction: Topuria by 2nd round submission.

    5. Welterweight Bout: #4 Ismail NAURDIEV (22-4, -170) vs. #11 Yaroslav AMOSOV (26-0, +130)

Naurdiev had a short 2-2 stint in the UFC and then earned himself 2 quick wins in Ares FC before making his way to the UBL. Built to be a star, he has massive poweer in his strikes and crisp technique, a well rounded ground game and good takedowns, and great takedown defence, in order to decide where the fight goes. Striking is usually his choice, tho. But good luck with that when facing Amosov. Undefeated at 26 and O, and coming off a big 2nd round win against Tumenov, Amosov is Topuria's main challenger for the "best wrestler in the UBL" title. He can probably take down prime Fedor and defend sub attempts of prime Mir or Werdum. Not only that, he has pretty good sub's and ground control of his own, and decent power in his hands, if he feels like giving his opponents a shot at fighting on the feet. And he also has a tough chin on him, so you have to hit him with your best shot if you hope to put him away. This should be a spectacle. And of course I have the undefeated wrestler winning.

    Prediction: Amosov by decision.

    Main card:

    1. Flyweight Tournament Quarter-Final: #6 Rasul ALBASKHANOV (11-3-2, -550) vs. #8 Hiromasa OGIKUBO (21-5-2, +430)

Round 1: Ogikubo hits a nice left but gets touched with a 1-2. They then cancel out each other's striking and Rasul's moving around, looking anxious. They both seem shy, as only a hook from Ogikubo lands in the following 90 seconds. Rasul throws a big right, Ogikubo dodges with skills and hits a left hook, giving Rasul a cut under the right eye. Rasul now dodges a right and hits a good 1-2. Again, they cancel each other out in the following two exchanges. Rasul starts pushing forward, but they only land a few jabs. As we reach the last seconds, Ogikubo hits a cross and ddodges Rasul's hook. It was a pretty empty first round, could go either way, I'll score it for Rasul for the slightly better output and pushing forward. 10-9 Rasul. Still, Rasul is not looking too confident.

Round 2: More cautious striking from these two, as a jab from Rasul is the only strike that lands in the first 3 exchanges. Finally, they come with more courage and Rasul hits a cross but eats a hook from Ogikubo, and his cut got opened again. A bit more dancing around the cage, and Rasul dodges a straight and comes in with a right hook. They trade jabs and Ogikubo hits a right hook of his own. Rasul catches Ogikubo with a good right to the side. And they trade a few jabs until the end of the round, and Rasul is starting to look a bit tired. Again, I give it to Rasul by a slim margin, due to his slightly better output and pressure. With so close rounds, the decision might be split regardless of how the 3rd round goes. 20-18 for Rasul on my scorecard.

Round 3: Ogikubo throws a cross but Rasul dodges and hits a hook. Then, literally a jab from Ogikubo is the only strike that lands in the next 2 minutes. Rasul then misses a cross and gets countered with a hook. Rasul then dodges a straight right and hits one of his own. Ogikubo is starting to look a bit tired as well, but he hits a good 1-2. Last seconds and Rasul comes in with a good straight right. And that is it. Ogikubo had a higher output this round, so I'm scoring it for him, 29-28 for Rasul on my scorecard.

    Winner: Hiromasa Ogikubo (30-27 x 2, 29-28). Rating: Decent.

Post-fight: Ogikubo says that he is thankful for this opportunity and will be honored to fight for the UBL Flyweight title. He also names Sean Santella as a contender that he'd like to face soon after the tournament, if possible. Lose the next fight and it's a done deal, Hiro!

Ogikubo's fighting for the belt next, against the winner of Bibulatov vs. Eliott.

    2. Women's Flyweight Bout: #4 Molly MCCANN (10-4, -110) vs. #6 Poliana BOTELHO (8-4, +100)

Round 1: Botelho hits a cross and gets touched with a jab, and then they spend the following 2 minutes failing to touch each other with their punches. Quality stuff. McCann then hits a left and dodges a cross. But she misses with a right hook and walks into a jab-right combo. McCann misses a big right, then, and Botelho comes in with a jab and a beautiful body kick. McCann misses with a hook now and Botelho nails one of her own, using her reach advantage well. Botelho dodges another hook and punches the ribs well. McCann finally lands the right hook and dodges a head kick attempt. But McCann goes for that damn hook again and gets countered again, with a jab-hook combo, and it's Botelho's round, clean as day, as she picked McCann apart. 10-9 Botelho.

Round 2: They trade jabs, Botelho dodges a right and hits a right head kick, AND MCCANN'S IN TROUBLE! Or nah, Botelho tries to get the Thai clinch but can't do it, and McCann gets in a Thai clinch of her own! She hits a knee to the ribs, then goes to the chest. She goes to the chest again and then Botelho finally escapes the clinch, as we go past the halfpoint of the round. Botelho's breathing a bit havier now. McCann goes back to missing that right hook and getting countered, eating a nice left hand this time. McCann hits a right and checks a low kick. She starts pushing forwand, hits a left hook but gets struck with a jab-jab-rib kick combo. And then Botelho dodges a right and hits a jab but misses with the body kick, as the round ends. Closer than the first, but still 10-9 for Botelho. 20-18 for Botelho on my scorecard.

Round 3: Botelho waits for McCann to throw that dumb right hook again, and when it comes, she counters it with another right head kick. McCann looks unbothered, but a bit tired. McCann hits a 1-2 but gets touched with a good hook. She then hits another one two but gets touched with a jab-cross combo. Finally a violent round. Molly hits a straight right and eats a right hook. Botelho checks a cross and hits a jab-hook combo. Botelho switches to southpaw, but can't connect in the next exchange, so decides to start a clinch. But McCann gets her in the thai clinch again! McCann hits 3 weak knees to the chest until the end of the round, and despite the decent output, she took some big shots, so it's still Botelho's round in my book. 30-27 Botelho.

Winner: Poliana Botelho (30-27 x 3). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: Botelho says she likes this kind of fights, altho' she's not very happy with the grappling she showed. Which is way she wants to challenge herself with a fight against Mara Romero Borella next, to prove it to herself that she can win against any type of fighter.

    3. Flyweight Tournament Quarter-Final: #1 Kai KARA-FRANCE (22-10-1, +200) vs. #4 Amir ALBAZI (13-2, -200)

Round 1: Kai comes forward, but Albazi dodges his right and counters with a jab-hook combo. He then shoots and now Kai's pulling guard! Albazi advances to half guard with ease. Soon he gets into side control. He throws some short strikes for the next minute, and then tries a kneebar! Kai defends. More small shots, and Albazi goes back to trying to grab the leg, but can't do it, and it's round over, obvious 10-9 for Albazi.

Round 2: Albazi's pushing forward this time around, and they trade a few jabs until Albazi hits a beautiful straight right. Kai hits a left cross but gets touched with a jab-hook combo. Kai starts pushing now, but nothing significant lands. As the strike exchanges get inneficient, Albazi decides to shoot, and pushes Kara-France against the cage. He gows low and gets on top of a turtled up Kara-France! HE GOES FOR A CALF SLICER! BUT THEN QUICKLY SWITCHES TO POUNDING! He lands several big shots and switches back to the calf slicer, but the round ended as Kara-France escaped the sub attempt. Big round for Albazi, tho! 20-18.

Round 3: Aware he has a mountain to destroy, Kai throws a head kick but Albazi defends with calm and fires back with a jab-right combo. As Kai notices Albazi trying to initiate more grappling, he fires away with a body kick. Kai's pushing forward, Albazi hits 2 counter jabs and gets stung with a low kick. But Kai misses with the big right and gets countered with a jab-cross combo. They are in the center of the cage, and Kai misses with a hook and gets touched with a jab-right combo. But Kai dodges the next right that Albazi throws and hits a right cross. Albazi shoots suddenly and forces Kai into pulling guard. BUT ALBAZI BREAKS THE GUARD LOOKING FOR A LEGLOCK! AND HE HAS IT! KARA-FRANCE TAPS!

Winner: Amir Albazi (Leglock submission @3:12, round 3). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: "Everything went according to plan. I can't wait to do the same to Jordan Espinosa, and then the champ. But now, my eyes are on the ball. Jordan, best of luck in your training camp, I will give you a very hard time."

Amir will be fighting Jordan Espinosa in the FlyW tournament SFs.

    4. Welterweight Bout: #3 Robbie LAWLER (28-16-1, -480) vs. #6 Elizeu Zaleski DOS SANTOS (22-8, +380)

Round 1: Lawler misses a cross and gets countered with a hook, AND LAWLER'S ALREADY STUNNED AGAINST THE CAGE!? DANG! STRAIGHT RIGHT FROM DOS SANTOS! AND ANOTHER ONE, but Robbie moves out the way this time, and he's back in the center, still a bit wobbly. Dos Santos dodges Robbie's hook and hits a jab-straight right combo. Robbie hits a hook to the body. Dos Santos misses a big right and Robbie counters with a good right hand. Robbie then defends a head kick attempt and fires at Dos Santos with a hook. He hits another hook, BUT DOS SANTOS SMASHES LAWLER WITH A VICIOS CROSS AND LAWLER HITS THE FLOOR! But the pounding game of Dos Santos seems off today, as he barely lands any clean shot. He hits tons of small shots and eventually Lawler gets the half guard. And the round ends with Dos Santos hitting small shots from half guard. Dos Santos and his team are looking extremely proud of that round, 10-9 for him.

Round 2: Lawler dodges a hook and hits a cross. They both waste the next exchange, and then Dos Santos counters Lawler's cross with a jab-jab-straight right combo. They both show off good head movement in the next trade. Then, Robbie hits a hook and gets touched by a cross, but Dos Santos now sports a cut across the forehead, and starts looking tired. He hits Robbie with a low kick, but Robbie hits one of his own + a jab. Robbie hits him with a clean left. But Robbie's body language suggest that shot might have hurt his own hand too. They defend well in the following exchanges, and Dos Santos manages to hit some jabs until the end of the round, likely turning the round in his favor. FINISH HIM ROBBIE, IT'S 20-18 DOS SANTOS!

Round 3: Lawler parries a head kick and hits a good right, reopening the cut. They get trading leather, and Lawler hits a good right but gets stung with a cross. Dos Santos counters a cross with a good hook. Lawler's getting countered with a jab-cross combo. They miss a lot of shots, in lots of exchanges. Robbie counters a hook with a jab-low kick combo. Lawler clinches with Dos Santos and gets him stuck against the cage with 70 secs left. He dominates him there, and it likely was enough to win him the round, but not the fight. 29-28 Dos Santos.

Winner: Elizeu Zaleski Dos Santos (29-28 x 3). Rating: Decent.

Post-fight: Dos Santos calls out Ismail Naurdiev! Well, that's ballsy. We'll see.

    5. Well, it's time for a kinda underwhelming main event, in the Middleweight Tournament Quarter-Finals:

    #1 Brad TAVARES (18-7, -550) vs. #4 "GM3" Gerald MEERSCHAERT (31-15, +430)

Round 1: Tavares pushes forward. He takes a jab, but hits a pair of his own and a low kick. Tavares keeps pressuring, hitting 3 jabs, but Meerschaert catches the following body kick! But Tavares escapes, and keeps punishing GM3 with his jabs. And the occasional low kick. And a body kick! And after a whole lotta this, as we enter the last 30 seconds, TAVARES SMASHES MEERSCHAER WITH A BIG RIGHT HOOK! GROUND AND POUND FROM TAVARES, AND THAT IS IT, A FINISH IN THE LAST 10 SECONDS!

Winner: Brad Tavares (Hook & Pound TKO @4:52, round 1). Rating: Great.

Post-fight: Tavares declares he's ready to undo the wrong he did in his last fight, and win the Middleweight belt.

    Main card preview:

    1. Women's Flyweight Bout: #4 Molly MCCANN (10-4, -110) vs. #6 Poliana BOTELHO (8-4, +100)

Molly is on a 2 fight losing skid right now, losing via UD in her last UFC fight, against Taila Santos, and losing via 1st round Kimura in her UBL debut against Montana De La Rosa, in the semi-finals of the inaugural tournament of the division. Molly is a brawler who loves to play the aggressor, despite her limited skillset. Still, aged 27, she has time to develop into a bigger danger for her opponents. Botelho is also coming off 2 Ls, including a UD loss in her last UFC bout, against Gilli Robertson & a 2nd round TKO on the other side of the bracket in the inaugural tournament, at the hands of Ariane Lipski. Her stile is similar to Molly's, but with more unorthodox striking, and she seems to be working hard on imporivng her ground game. I expect this fight to be kept mostly on the feet, with one of these ladies winning by decision by a slim margin.

    Prediction: McCann by decision.

    2. Flyweight Tournament Quarter-Final: #1 Kai KARA-FRANCE (22-10-1, +200) vs. #4 Amir ALBAZI (13-2, -200)

Kara-France came swinging in the inaugural FlyW tournament, and got a sweet UD win over Tim Elliott before losing the UD with the title on the line, against Magomed Bibulatov. He's mainly a striker with powerful hands and good head movement, plus amazing creative striking. Albazi is also coming off a UD loss to Bibulatov, in the first round of the tournament. Despite not having the same level of experience as Kara-France, Albazi is much better rounded, with a great ground game, especially from the top, + good wrestling on the feet and similar power in his hands and head movement, and also has a tougher chin. Basically, if Albazi'd tell Kara-France "I'm you, but better", it would be hard to argue otherwise. This being said...

Prediction: Albazi by 2nd round submission.

    3. Welterweight Bout: #3 Robbie LAWLER (28-16-1, -480) vs. #6 Elizeu Zaleski DOS SANTOS (22-8, +380)

Ruthless Robbie is coming off 5 Ls. Still, he's one hell of a brawler and still has a great chin, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time until he gets his hand raised again, despite some of Robbie's critics and fans alike suggesting it might be time for retirement. Dos Santos is coming off 2 Ls, including a quick Kimura loss to Li. He's mainly a striker with inferior technique to Robbie's, so I pray that Robbie finally snaps his losing streak here. COME ON ROBBIEEE!!

Prediction: Lawler by 3rd round KO.

    4. Middleweight Tournament Quarter-Final: #1 Brad TAVARES (18-7, -550) vs. #4 Gerald MEERSCHAERT (31-15, +430)

Yes, this is a rematch of a semi-final from the initial Middleweight tournament. Yes, I feel dumb now for booking it but booking tournaments can be tricky at times, gah dam it! In the inaugural tournament, Brad KO'd GM3 late in the 2nd round, and then lost a UD to Cummings. Since then, Brad has been working amazingly hard to improve all around, likely realizing how close he is to gold and fame in the UBL. His main quality is his conditioning, that helps him outstrike and outgrapple in the clinch, and if he gets taken down he'll usually look to scramble back on the feet. GM3 is on a 3 fight losing streak, getting T/KOed in all of these 3. I'm pretty sorry for Gerald, but someone's gotta take the L so the winners can rise on top. He is mainly a BJJ guy, while Brad's ground game is pretty much his Achille's Heel, so GM3 has a big chance to get his revenge if he takes the fight to the floor. We'll see if he manages it, tho.

Prediction: Tavares by 1st round KO.

    5. Heavyweight Bout: #8 Matt MITRIONE (14-8-1, -730) vs. #13 Daniel OMIELANCZUK (24-11-1-1, +580)

After some violent losses, Mitrione broke his bad streak with a 1st round TKO win over Jared Rosholt in his UBL debut, back in April. He's a talented striker, with great power in his hands, but a declining chin. He's also a pretty good wrestler and if he gets on top and starts punching, it's bad for whoever's on the receiving end. Omielanczuk lost when challenging for the ACA HW belt in late 2020, and then got caught in an RNC in his UBL debut, against Evgeny Goncharov, on the same card where Mitrione fought. He is a decent grappler and has pretty good power in his hands, but him pulling off the upset win would surely not be appreciated by the UBL higher-ups, as Mitrione is obviously the bigger star and the one that actually has a chance to work himself into title contention. So, please, Daniel, be a sweetie and grab another L. Cheers!

Prediction: Mitrione by 1st round KO.
