  1. I have a question regarding rehab that I couldn't find an answer to. In a 1992 mod I'm playing Macho Man got caught for steroids and for some reason I can't send him to rehab. I've never had that happen. He's on an exclusive written contract with 22 months left. Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason?
  2. People can't tell anything more than that because there is nothing more to tell. Do angles that are rated good and their pop grows as long as they haven't hit their limit. Typically, the higher their momentum the faster this goes. Extremely negative momentum might make it impossible to gain pop, I'm not sure. Also certain attributes and destiny might help/hinder the process. I got Garry the entertainer from 0 pop to about 60 purely on entertainment rated angles. Also, good angles probably won't help anything if a worker constantly loses. Never had any problems getting my well knowns more popular if I really wanted them to. The game feels way less grindy to me than 2016. In fact it is the first in the series where I don't feel I have to game the game in any way to succeed. It has a really nice flow to it. I know I won't get everyone over. I concentrate on those I can and don't obsess about those stuck at their level for the time being and try again later. I book angles (and storylines in general) in a way that I think would be cool without doing obviously non working stuff. I don't feel pressure to make every segment/show the best ever. If it helps me in the long run in some way, it's all good. If you mention the nerfs you should also mention the buffs, there were quite a few. I doubt Adam is catering to a loud minority, since those kinds of changes usually where done because either a lot of people asked for a specific change or someone gave a good reason as to why it should be changed.
  3. If a database isn't set up properly it absolutely makes a difference. Not in the calculations itself obviously but if, for example, the two wrestlers from your example do a 15 minute promo in a promotion that uses a product entirely relying on matches will and should produce a segment that completely bombs. Granted, this would be an extreme oversight and won't be the case for most mods but there are so many smaller details that are often ignored, especially in conversions of older mods, stuff adds up. When looking at TCs example, that might have played a role or not. The match was however likely set up in a way that didn't fit the product, which could be due to bad mod making or not. It might have been further hindered due to attributes, physical conditions of the wrestlers etc. This all could be due to oversights of the mod maker. Of course it also could be just bad booking by TC but I don't think you could mess up Steamboat vs Flair that badly.
  4. You can disable death by setting Death Frequency and Kenny Deaths to none but I think accidents can still happen. There is nothing you can do about aging.
  5. It was meant for everyone more or less. I too use Entertainment most of the times and it works pretty good, especially if they have some momentum. Not as good as it can in reality though (John Cena's first 3 promos in his rapper persona probably did more for him irl than 30 promos would in TEW) but I can liv with it. playing as RAW is pretty much easy mode anyway. I agree with everything you are saying about angles getting people over. In fact, I'd say in an entertainment heavy product a great angle often does more for a wrestler than a great match irl. I would love to see that in the game in some way (even just as a really low random chance)
  6. What roles did you use for the guys you wanted to get over and what were they rated on?
  7. Everybody's got a price - if you pay them extra, they will put over anyone without getting unhappy (maybe with the exception of someone they have a negative relationship with). How much you have to pay depends on the difference in popularity of the workers in the areas the match is broadcast /held in (it definitely shouldn't be to cheap though). Blood Money - the worker is willing to work high risk segments but demands more money for doing so
  8. There is no such trend. If you look at the change log, there are very few examples and those are usually for technical reasons. The limits have been there from the start. Stuff got removed (and probably often just overlooked) due to the writing from scratch. I can see quite a few things being added/returned to the editor or preferences but that would require people to actually suggest what they want which they rarely do (at least when it comes to stuff that used to be in older games, new ideas are constantly mentioned)
  9. You are right. I completely misunderstood you and I have to apologize for labeling you as arrogant. I'm glad you didn't seem to take it in a bad way. As for the problem of pushes/perception I can think of two solutions that could solve this. I obviously have no clue if it would be doable from a programming point. First, a choice. Let players decide which system they want to use. Second, have perception as the base system and allow players to assign them a push, similar to how divisions work. Let players use this as an alternate sorting method when booking. I wouldn't be mad if anyone suggested these or if something like this is added. I probably wouldn't use it but if people want it, I'm all for it.

I played the mess that was a beta but still sunk my cash into the game as I’ve enjoyed the games for the last two releases in 13 and 16. I know this isn’t some fifa franchise where they update the rosters and chucked out a new version every year and take you cash. Thought and care goes into each tew. It’s a game that seems to listen to it’s players and improve. So that sort of trust means I’ll pay my money for it. I will say I am trying to get into it but it’s the least fun tew I’ve personally played. Previous games hooked you and you found your groove how you wanted to enjoy it. 20 feels like an acquired taste. I’m trying to force myself to enjoy it and find my way to play that I like. Sadly I feel it’s become more of a game that has a set way to play it for it to work. Some of the new features just haven’t been implemented as I expected. In my mind there’s much bette ways to do so and I’m struggling to understand why my tiny mind has cooked up better ways for it to work than the actual game developer. But the bottom line is the game should be fun and finding that element of fun should be easy. I don’t personally have loads of time for video games and as such the idea of sitting down for half an hour with tew to try and find my love for it just isn’t appealing. <p> </p><p> I guess in some ways this maybe means the game isn’t for it. But I struggle to understand why that’s come about because I’ve been a loyal fan of the games for literally years. Hats off and good luck to those who are really enjoying it and honestly I just wish I could find that same sort of enjoyment from it.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Out of curiosity, what does stand in your way to play the game the way you want it to play. I've read this statement quite a few times on here, yet most of the time no examples are given. I'm playing both, serious and sandbox games and I personally don't miss that many things. Certainly not enough to hinder me having fun. Also did you write about those things on the tech or suggestions boards?</p><p> </p><p> Secondly, I don't mean the following in an insulting way. </p><p> If you think you know better than the dev of how to do stuff, do it. Don't just say it. Saying things like "even my tiny mind..." is arrogant. Doesn't mean you are not allowed to criticize but you should not do it like this. If you are indeed that good, don't say it, do it.</p>

Anything more will just tell you that it's above the max value allowed and it won't add the value.<p> </p><p> From the wording of the patch (which to be fair, I have not played) I can only infer that the max value which is 900 million has been lowered for "balancing" reasons but the point is that if I am choosing to use the in-game editor to give me that much money, balance is is the last thing on my mind.</p><p> </p><p> If I am wrong then someone feel free to point it out.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You most likely are wrong. You can currently give companies a max of 999,999,999,- currency and that amount doesn't really make sense as a balancing limit. Technical reasons are much more likely as reason with this sum.</p><p> However, the wording in the change log can be interpreted both ways.</p><p> </p><p> On topic:</p><p> I am pretty sure, that this is more of an "it feels like" situation, at least as far as the patches go. If you look at the change log, there aren't a lot of limiters except for tech reasons.</p><p> There are however a number of things missing from previous iterations of the game, some of which are quite baffling and even though I personally don't miss anything so far, I agree thy should be added if technically possible.</p>
  12. "Worker Call Up Warning" on page 9 of the mail settings might be what you are looking for. It's just a guess, though.
  13. In my RAW game there are barely any improvements about 7 months in. I haven't played this save post 1.09 though. According to the change log, it is no longer just angles that improve entertainment. In my SWF game however, pretty much anyone who is used regularly has improved their entertainment skills. I'm about 4 months in, 3 of which post 1.09. Biggest single skill increase was Lenny Brown's acting which has improved by 3 points. In other cases charisma, microphone and acting improved by 2 points. So, either I got extremely lucky or the problem is already fixed.
  14. There was a thread on the tech support forum. Was that you? If so, did anything come of it? The thread is gone now.
  15. Absolutely this! But even with SWFs Standard settings I very rarely get less than an 88 overall rating. With RAW I regularly crack the 90s. I also think the prime time requirements are absolutely fine. It SHOULD be extremely difficult to get (and keep) the best time slot with the top broadcasters. This should also be true for the AI. Also remember, you don't really need those slots to succeed. What might be worth looking at is the broadcasters patience being modified by a companies momentum and/or reputation so that the bigger ones won't immediately get in trouble with their network even if they have a few subpar shows
