  1. A small part of me wanting to change history a bit does fancy going after ECW as I think I could take their decent talent and just grind them into the ground! And I agree it’s a VERY Eric move! I’m going to look at a few of the Japanese promotions. But I think I’ll have the same problem. Most the talent they have isn’t over in the US and most of my talent isn’t over in Japan. So they’ll want Hulk Hogan for the night in a trade for some complete mid card 40 pop in the US at most. 95 Starcade was the World Cup of Wrestling. And with a few months build I’m thinking I can have an actual World Cup. With the Bluebloods being British, I can put together an American team obviously. Mexican should be easy and even with Kurasawa on the roster I could bring in someone to partner him to make a Japanese team. So in reality it was US v Japan. But I quite like the idea of doing it as a tag title tournament with the winners getting the belts. Only problem I’m a few months way and really want to take the belts off bunkhouse buck and dirty dick much sooner than that!
  2. Having checked the only guys on my roster New Japan will take are either Hogan or Flair. So not sure I'm really willing to give either of them up in return for someone who'd be mid card at best for me. The other relationships are at war with WWF and at war with ECW! Although I could quite easily just cherry pick alot of ECW's roster and kill them off. But I don't really want to do that. Triple A have some talent. But I do fancy stealing Konnan and maybe a little known guy by the name of Rey Mysterio and Psicosis and have a little Latin American stable perhaps. Konnan is basically the full package as far as a mouth piece goes.
  3. Although I like this idea and have the relationship set up with New Japan to do this initially I'm finding them very hard to deal with. No one on my roster outside the obvious Hogan really is popular enough for them to be keen on a trade. Also most of their stars really arent know in the US at all. So I'd like to stay true I might do it as a watered down version because I think the effort it'll take to get the talent in will not get me hardly any views and got a feeling it would tank my PPV overall. But not something I'd rule out completely!
  4. My next job is my ppvs. I need pictures to tidy them up and need to switch that round because Starrcade is the one I’m building to. It’s all the little bits like that I have to tidy up as I go along. But thank you, well spotted.
  5. The first episode of WCW Nitro. A bit of a nod to the original, still with a little twist. Hulk Hogan vs Big Bubba Rogers Randy Savage vs Brian Pillman Disco Inferno vs The Giant Sting vs Ric Flair
  6. Weirdly Machos brother has some decent colour skills, so hes getting a run on a B show doing that for me! To be honest mate, that list apart from Renegade who by some miracle has been given a decent destiny roll saying he might be decent in ring, so I want to push that. But yup the others you have mentioned really are the guys that will be getting the chop. They aren't even good enough for B show material really!
  7. I love booking tag teams and find wcw is massively lacking. Especially as I think I’d quite like to push Booker T as a singles wrestlers that’ll take Harlem Heat out of the mix which is one of, if not the best team I have. So definitely think I might look into signing some of those. I feel the roster is a bit bloated so will need to cut a few people at some point though.
  8. I’m going to give it a go as would like to have regal available and not being at my A show each week would be very difficult. I’ll just keep throwing cash at him till he loves me 🤣
  9. I massively appreciate you taking the time to watch it. I'm a newbie streamer and no real clue what I'm doing yet! So thanks for watching. Hayes would have been good. I've been going a bit more in depth into the roster and looks like Regal is with New Japan alot meaning he'll miss most Nitro's. So he might have to wait a bit for his mega push!
  10. You would be very correct! The British scene was not blessed with talkers lol. I do wonder whether I could pair them with Bobby Heenan as siding with a bunch of Brits who think they are all better than Americans does feel like something Heenan would have done. ALthough I'd need to rethink my commentary desk then if I have him as more of a manager.
  11. Negotiations with Taylor and Brookside are happening. I really see this as as being a springboard to launch Regal. So ultimately I need to pick someone from Eaton, Taylor an Brookside to front it. But I want to take it in a Nation of Domination route like you had with Farooq and the Rock and have the young upstart Regal trying to overthrow them and take control. I don't want to stick completely to the timeline to strictly. But signings have to make sense to me. I don't want to hoover up all the talent and have roster within 6 months which is just all the stars of the attitude era. One of the joys of WCW was their insane booking and signings, so want to keep it a bit scatter gun to keep it fun! Booker and DDP are old so need pushing now. We know in real life they went on to last years, but TEW isn't quite as kind to aging stars. But also I think the pair of them should have been pushed around that time as it is. But completely agree that Regal, Geuerro and Pillman have all the skills already and will only get better. They should be able to hit that upper midcard within 6 months and knocking on the door of the main event. Otherwise I've not booked them well enough.
  12. Nakano is available and working at AJW on a hadnshake deal. At the time she was appearing for WWF, but Vince and Lawler were burying her on commentary, it was odd. She obviously didn't fit what they thought women should be as she was legit bad ass tough so would be on my list if I launch a womens division. I'm thinking of giving maybe 4/5 women a six mont hdeal and run it on the B show to see how it goes before putting some real effort in. Sullivan was a satanic bastard both kayfabe and non kayfabe. I feel like he has alot to offer so wont disappear. Just feuding with Hogan is hard as the whole stable is just mid carders at best and The Giant. And really I don't want to be feeding the Giant to Hogan in the first few months of booking as he's one of the legit main eventers I have as well. Steve Williams is a great shout to bring in actually. Guys like Foley I want to avoid signing just because I know he'll become a mega star and want to avoid going for such obvious stuff. HOWEVER a Dungeon of Doom/Raven's Flock feud Mankind really is majorly suited to that, so think it would make sense and not be too much of a stretch to think it could happen. And absolutely I LOVE people pitching ideas. Anything to give me something to think about is great and I will say I had Rhino on my notes and the word Radicalz written. The Geuerro, Benoit, Saturn and Malenko idea of just a stable debuting out of nowwhere. However I do like the Shield idea as well. What do you think about tinkering with it a bit as I could bring in a young Rikishi (Reigns) have the Ambrose role taken by Brian Pillman. I'm not sure Rhino fits the Rollins type role exactly. But I do like the 3 man stable type idea and basing it loosely on the Shield. Great idea!
  13. Nope love the questions as any discussion helps me look at other parts of the game. So Scott and Steve Armstrong is interesting. Firstly in real like and my game they are well and truly going to be jobbers. But I did a bit of research to least show I care about them a bit. Looks like as a stable all of the Armstrong's went by the name Armstrong Brothers. But together Steve and Scott as a tag team went by the name The James Boys. Barrior brothers it seems like Fidel Sierra and Ricky Santana at some points went by the names Ricky Barrio and Fidel Barrio and although weren't called that in WCW as a team they went by Barrio Brothers. My very basic research as well I think Barrio means neighbourhood in Spanish. So think the name was more like brothers from the same neighbourhood type thing rather than being biological. Buck and Dick or team get the belts off them right now as far as I'm concerned are down as the Stud Stable which was short lived with Col Parker and Kurasawa as a quartet. I might change their name. ALthough I detest the name Dirty Dick, for 1995 it feels a bit attitude era and some sort of DX skit name. So I'd rather find a way to get them out the door than update their team name as it stands! They are both horrendous in the ring! Medusa is an interesting one. Currently I have no womens wrestling and only two women on the entire roster which is the Diamond Doll and Sherri. So zero talent to work with. There is a few decent talents around, especially a few Japanese (Cuty Suzuki, Mayumi Ozaki) with some great fundamental skills with a few Americans I could bring in to make a small division that would be a B show filler. But would literally be building from nothing and quite alot of these talents have virtually no pop so would be a slog to get going. But I like the challenge. At that time WWF was trying to sprinkle the odd Japanese female wrestler in. But most of the time Vince and Jerry Lawler on commentary would just rip into how they were ugly and make it look a complete waste of time. One of the things that confused me about Vince as he was clearly at least giving the OK to bring these talents in then on commentary doing his best to completely bury them. I ran this diary before and the Dungeon of Doom I love and hate. Its cheesy and stupid in real life. But I do like the idea of the Dungeon being a bit more broody and dark. Spoiler alert, but before I ditched Kamala and Zodiac. Shark went to being just John Tenta and I added Sabu and a little known new signing by the name of Raven to the group. I think ultimately there is a nice story to be had of the group eventually breaking up and having like Raven's flock with Sabu and perhaps Meng or the Giant as the muscle. Kevin Sullivan can disappear off into the wilderness. But thats long term I guess. Yup fresh faced, 19 year old Terry will go on to become Rhino. Poor lad is on a handshake deal for $20 a night with lol! From research looks like he only wrestled 4 times for WCW as Terry Richards and was well and truly a jobber. Maybe I can make something of him but thats a VERY long term thing as his physical stats look good. But everything in ring is a little way off where I'd need him to be. Think he needs a few half hour matches with Malenko to bring him up to speed!
  14. The roster in 95 was mad with odd WWF rejects and obviously some absolute absolute future superstars. Problem was the scatter gun booking made no sense for a long time with WCW. I love a bit of Dusty and I’m tempted to use him a bit as on screen authority/moral compass type character. But the talent is so lacking there’s a chance he might get a run. The tag division is weak so could pair him with someone and give him a little 3/6 month run. Im going to try and book how Nitro was booked. So it’s basically a mad onslaught of the top stars constantly and trying to squeeze in the odd mid carder. It’s going to be majorly built around Hogan/Flair/Sting for the foreseeable future. The main difference I want it to be a bit more coherent than just randomly dropping stories and characters for weeks and weeks! But I don’t plan on following events as they happened in WCW but at the same time if there’s a chance for poaching WWF talent etc I’ll be on it. But I hope anyone who watched st that time will see its true to the WCW vibe without being a complete copy.
  15. Ok some of you may remember this from a few years back. A diary that didn’t get too far as the save corrupted. But I’m launching this one again as still have all the notes and booking ideas laying around. Hope some of you will enjoy!
  16. Looking to resurrect this series. Live streaming my booking and will still be doing proper videos for the actual shows. If anyone hops on YouTube a subscribe is greatly welcomed! I'm a complete newbie to live streaming, so hopefully going to only get better with time and be slightly interesting to some!
  17. I think it would be interesting if chemsistry comes and goes as well sometimes. You might have guys that at a particular time bottle lightening so to speak and just have amazing matches. But lets say for example in 1999 Bret Hart and Steve Austin are having the best matches possible and their chemistry is off the charts. I think if they were still wrestling each other 10 years later that chemistry might change or disappear. Or maybe guys chemistry is just a one night thing. I can't think of exact examples, but here is going to have been times when everything comes together and two guys just absolutely click and put on a masterclass in wrestling. But then wrestle again might not recapture that. I think it would just make chemistry a bit more fluid and dynamic. Also think it makes using chemistry a bit less obvious. I also think it would be nice if it changed as wrestlers progress. One of my favourite things is veteran tagging with a newbie. If you get good chemistry as a team its like you've struck gold as its a way to really fast track the newbie to good matches. But maybe as their skills develop maybe that chemistry starts to change as their wrestlign style changes. I think chemistry is meant to be that "it" factor and something you can't quite put your finger on, so get why its set in stone in some ways as its something intangible. But still would spice things up if there was some movement in rare occasions.
  18. Only problem I see with this is with the sheer amount of matches being booked within the game you'd discover a massive amount really quickly. Take real life for example within a month something like WWE would have booked hundreds of matches so you'd know alot of the different chemistry straight away. I prefet to think of the chemistry being my user characters opinion. And until I've witnessed the match with my eyes it doesn't take effect.
  19. Thursday Week 2 January 2020 Old Kent Road Attendance - 13,110 TV Rating - 1.34 To kick things off we have Tommy Cornell come to the ring to a huge reaction from the fans as he poses at each turn buckle. He grabs a microphone from a staff member and turns towards the crowd as they chant Tommy, Tommy, Tommy over and over again. “You know what man it pains me to stand in this ring and admit my little cousin Eddie Cornell was right last week.” And the crowd boo at the mention of the 21CW champions name. “Nah man hear me out. Now normally I’d agree with yous lot because quite frankly I’ve listened to that whiney little brat for decades and the idea he’s going to get a microphone and do it every single week till I put a stop to it drives me as mad as you. But he said I’d trample my own Grandmothers grave to get ahead, and I’m not proud to admit he was right. For years I spent worrying about what was best for me. What could I do to make sure I was number one. And you know what I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the ride. But if Edward thinks he’s gunna come out here and pull skeletons out my closet and shame me then that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m living proof a leopard can change his spots.” The crowd continue to cheer for Tommy. “To all the boys in the back I did screw over this is day one of me making amends and Adam Matravers that starts with you. We’ve had years of history and I’ve always fought my hardest to try and keep the spotlight on me. But last week I can see how much getting a shot at my cousin means to you. So make a note of this man, but anything I can do to help you make that dream come true I’m here for it. The offer is there and let me know what you need and I’ll be there for you. Edward I love you man, but like everyone here I’d like to see that grin knocked off your face by Mile high Adam Matravers!” The crowd carried on with more chanting for their hero. “Oh and step one of me giving something back is tonight is the first night of the Tommy Cornell Open Invitational. All the boys in the back if you got the bottle for it step in the ring with me, and I’ll make you famous!” Rough Justice Tommy Cornell throws his mic to the floor and his theme music, Rock and Roll Star by Oasis, begins to play as he exits the ring. “Well well well seems like Tommy laddie has a wee bit o’ pep in his step tonight. I have nae idea who’ll accept his challenge, but I do know we have Adam Matravers taking on Kevin Jones in our main event tonight, LETS GET IT ON!" 78 Apollo Prince VS Joe Simpson In a decent match up Apollo Prince defeated Joe Simpson in 9:54 with an Apollogy. 62 Following the match Apollo Prince grabs a mic, “Daniel Black Francis I sure hope you was watching in the back sugar and enjoyed the show. Maybe one time you’d like to have a little one on one session with the Prince.” And Apollo sauntered to the back to boos from the crowd. 65 In the back we see Sifu and Ricky Storm preparing for their match when 3 Man Army walk in and they immediately square up to each other. But Mark Adonis just laughs in their face, “This gold around our waist means we do what we want, when we want. And that beating we gave out last week is nothing. You boys better watch your backs or you might be next!” Ignoring the threat Crouching Storm, Hidden Sifu walk away without saying anything. 69 Freedom Force VS Crouching Storm, Hidden Sifu In what was a poor match Crouching Storm, Hidden Sifu won in 9:14 when Ricky Storm hit a Double Back Fist on Gorilla Lee for the win. 62 Backstage we see Jeff nova again with Marie Smitten, “Sooo lovely to have you with us lassie. But you know since last week the wee talk of the town has been who is your favourite tag team Absolutely Fabulous or Hot Stuff?” “Ooh babes you know I’ve been watching 21 Cee Dub for years so both of them are shmazing. But I think its pretty obvious which ones get my pulse racing and that’s……..DROP ME OUT. You have to be kidding. Two secs Jeff babes I’ll be back. WADE!” And before Nova can get another word in Smitten is running off as she has spotted Wade Orson in the corridor. 65 Bedlam VS Evan Alpass Up next we have a match which had terrible wrestling with Beldlam picking up the win with the Bedlam Bomb in 7:33. 53 Dan Rowley’s SocialZone he has Kelvin Badberry who says, “I’m fed up hearing about how DJ Reason and Dangermouth are dropping the biggest track of the year together, its pathetic. He gets paid to run his mouth and I get paid to punch geeks like them in the face for a living.” Then we see a post from BadBerry’s Instagram where he had photoshopped Dangermouth and DJ reasons heads on Dangermouse and Penfold’s body with the caption “NERDS!” 42 Des Greeves is backstage with Tommy Cornell and tells him Beau Boulder has accepted his open challenge this week. Tommy just strokes his chin and says, “Bring it on Beau I’ll make you famous!” 66 Beau Boulder VS Tommy Cornell In a decent match “Rough Justice” Tommy Cornell won in 8:25 with the Rough Ride. 65 We go backstage we see Sebastain Koller and the Martini Police confront Hellbound who attacked them last week. Koller tells Faust, “Yo man what you did last week was not cool. But we’re always willing to forgive, but we never forget. So how about you 3 step in the ring with us at Steel Cage Challenge and we see how you like that.” Faust just smiles and walks away without saying anything! 57 Kevin Jones VS Adam Matravers w/Phoebe Plumridge In the main event of the evening Adam Matravers beat Kevin Jones in 12:01 with his Mile High Moonsault in what was a good match. 81 Following the Matravers win House of Business come out and surround the ring to attack. But just as they are about to Tommy Cornell’s music plays and he comes out with a baseball bat and before he can reach the ring the House of Business leave through the crowd leaving Jeff Nova to wonder “Aye Tommy said he’s changed his ways and willing to help Adam out however he can, could Matravers be starting to trust him a wee bit more?” 71 Overall - 76
  20. Also asking someone to retire from your promotion could either positively effect their relationship with you and company depending their feelings on it.
  21. But wouldn’t this mean as players we start to micromanage everything? We get them to retire and decide when. Or could perhaps be a feature where some retires from that promotion bit like Ric Flair who then goes on to still wrestle elsewhere.
