  1. #26 to #28 (the Technical skills) should be combined into one entry for 2020.

If you're looking to trim some to make room for fresher options, I'd ditch #11 (change wrestling style) as I don't believe it actually means anything in game (except for AI hiring which isn't relevant to user characters).

I have some other ideas but they're vague and would require heavier redesign.

Great spot with the technical skills.

Also with #11, I checked the handbook and it makes no difference to match performance.

I'd really like something interesting for numbers 22 to 30, I always hated getting a boost to brawling if I was a high flier. One idea I had was to add the option of adding a small number of points to the primary skill of your choice:

    23. "Fists of Fury" You have devoted your holiday season to training in the ring +5 to your Brawling skill or +2 to any other primary skill.

  2. #19 should either be split up or made random as to which one you get. Skinny Genes is a positive trait and Fat Genes is a negative trait. You probably assumed it made it harder to maintain a Muscular/Ripped body type, but the description says it actually makes it easier to achieve and maintain an impressive physique.

I didn't assume that but I couldn't decide what to do with #19. I think a 50/50 chance is fair with this one.

  4. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Jaded" data-cite="Jaded" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47775" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>But a) it goes off average popularity across Europe and b) the wages compared to that average popularity are stupidly low.<p> </p><p> His pop is: 16/16/11/11/44/12/7, making it a total across Europe of 117 and an average of just below 17. Wrestlers with 13, 14, 15, or 16 average pop in their home country/continent want $50 a show. For some reason it doesn't take into consideration respect (as TEW 16 did) OR the fact that he's incredibly over in Central Europe where they're actually running shows. (I tested this by editing Penfold Perdition to 99 in Hawaii - he was more popular than Jack Bruce and still only wanted $40 a show!!)</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Re-adding respect into the calculation seems like the best solution. Perhaps if they have been unemployed for a while high respect adds less to the wage demands.</p>
  5. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Jaded" data-cite="Jaded" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47775" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I mean people like Nelson Callum, Bradley Blaze, Bradford Peverell, and a ton of other staggeringly talented wrestlers with sky-high overness in certain areas compared to the size of an RTG fed working for 60 or 40 dollars a night. Self-owned PPVs being too effective are also going to ruin RTG but not as immediately.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This is true. Ian Vincible and Landon Mallory are available for $30 a show in the UK.</p>

  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Jaded" data-cite="Jaded" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47775" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>If wages don't get fixed then I can't see any real point in RTG, sadly. You mean the ridiculous 2016 system where nobodies who in real life would probably work for free demanded $200 a show? There are issues with the wage system (exclusive written PPA being too cheap being the biggest one I know of), but they don't really come into play until you've reached a decent size. The more relevant financial issue for RtG is self-owned PPV broadcasters being too effective.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I think this new way is better. The challenge of RTG was never surviving the first year, the challenge was sticking through the grinds from regional to cult and cult to national to get your UC to the top. </p><p> </p><p> 2016 was annoying because everyone had to start over constantly until they found a way of staying in business. Every patch that Adam issued changed the finances too.</p>
  8. <p>Update on Rules:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Stats</strong> - People seem to like the idea of using the quick skill creation tool. Maybe players could have the choice of using this tool or allocating 750 points themselves. The trade off is you get more points using the tool but less choice about where they go.</p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>Starting/Changing Promotion</strong> - No need to change these requirements</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>User Preferences</strong> - The cosmetic changes are now mixed with the gameplay changes. Shall we just say that preferences can be changed if they don't affect the gameplay (e.g. coloured text)?</p><p> </p><p>

    <img alt="10TLXdH.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/10TLXdH.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mystery Box</strong> - I liked SeanMcG's additions but I feel very strongly that we should stick to tradition and have 54 items in the list. I also thought a few of the old items could be removed. I'll try and finish the list tonight. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Achievements</strong> - I suggest we use SeanMcG's list from a few posts up. Anymore than that and it becomes difficult to manage.</p>

The guy is crazy to switch from japan to canada every week for 20$ haha<p> </p><p> Would also be nice to have a specific language for the hire rule, to keep the cultural identity of some small european promotion by example.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> No, I've always thought was strange too. I think the travel costs should be the barrier to people working in different regions. It would be cool if it worked in a way that everyone will work everywhere unless they have an attribute which makes them want to stay at home but if you fly someone in you pay their travel.</p>
  10. <p>This is such a well written start. </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="48673" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> (Winners compete in a fatal fourway for CCW Women’s Championship at next month’s show)</p><p> <strong>Evren/Brazzle/Chee/Blake</strong> vs Lost Generation/Good Lookin’ Stars</p><p> </p><p> CCW Men’s Championship: <strong>Art Reed </strong>vs Ernest Youngman</p><p> </p><p> Prime Time Jack Pryde vs <strong>Bootstrap Bill Harris</strong> vs Air Attack Weasel</p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Ring Generals</strong> vs The Moonshiners</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Becca Barton</strong> vs Paige Croft</p><p> </p><p> Open Challenge:<strong> Big Bruiser Findlay</strong> vs ???</p><p> </p><p> Raheem Stash vs <strong>Machine Gun Marino</strong> w/ La Cosa Nostra</p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Anti-Establishment</strong> vs Crackdown</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Air Raid Syren</strong> vs Pinky Perez</p><p> </p><p> Pepper Pelton vs <strong>William Hayes</strong></p><p> </p></div></blockquote>

  14. You can take the the debt for the creation of the broadcaster and then make it back easily within a month

I tried to open a broadcaster straight away but the game told me that I couldn't afford this. Did you manage to open one without cash in the bank?

Could the broadcaster be a way to get through the early game without collapsing to financial hardship? Perhaps in the mid game, where you need solid talent, it'll effectively become a wash with the new contract system?

It sounds like it although it would be completely divorced from reality. It's impossible to say without playing a long term game and that is now over two weeks away from happening :(

  15. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="awesomenessofme1" data-cite="awesomenessofme1" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47775" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Until/unless they get nerfed, the strategy for LtG/RtG seems clear to me: Save up money until you get enough for a Tiny broadcaster in a region, then make one. It'd be even cheaper in a smaller region.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I tried this in the UK - 40k set up 4.9k revenue for the first show. You are right, everyone will do this if it is not nerfed. </p><p> </p><p> It will take a while to make enough to start the broadcaster though.</p>
  16. Attributes

I've been through the attributes and categorised them:

Gimmick based - I suggest that people can choose whether they should be a 100% babyface or heel or if they are better at one or the other. Maybe they can choose two gimmick types to play well too?

    - 100% babyface/heel

    - Better as babyface/heel

    - Plays [name of gimmick] well

    - Can't play [name of gimmick]

Match Bonuses - These are all attributes that give bonuses to matches. They don't seem too overpowered except 'Slow and Steady' so maybe they can choose one from the list?

    - Comedy worker

    - Noted Comedy worker

    - High pain threshold

    - Dynamo

    - Tag Team Specialist

    - Squash Master

    - Slow and Steady (maybe ban this one as it gives bonuses to the type of matches that could be getting 100s)

    - Giving Performer

Match Handicaps - These attributes give match penalties

    - Poor Comedy worker

    - Canny Operator

    - Scatterbrained

Balanced - These attributes give bonuses is certain situations and handicaps in others. I'd say add these to the match bonus list.

    - Selfish Performer (worse matches but better pop gains?)

    - Explosive ring style (Bonus for dominating but handicaps for over 10 mins)

Misc Benefits - Some of these give benefits to skills, some to body type and two of them raise skill caps. I think people can choose one of these (except Prodigy) but have to choose a Misc Handicap too (e.g. you can be a bodybuilder with a dodgy neck or a stud athlete with a speech impediment)

    - Healing Factor

    - Prodigy

    - Age is just a Number

    - Fitness Fanatic

    - Bodybuilder

    - Skinny Genes

    - Stud Athlete (Higher Skill Cap)

    - Gymnastic Background (Higher Skill Cap)

Misc Handicaps - These give various negative modifiers to skills or body type, could be used to balance out the bonuses.

    - Not a Natural

    - Fat Genes

    - Troublesome Neck/Back/Shoulder/Knee

    - History of Concussions

    - Speech Impediment

Temporary - One of these is negative, the rest are bonuses to match quality. These could be very useful for mystery boxes.

    - Hot New Move

    - Hot New Catchphrase

    - Flavour of the Month

    - Personal Issues

    - Groundswell of support

    - Midas Touch

    - In a Funk

Flavour - Largely irrelevant, I think people can choose these if desired

    - Movie Star/ TV Actor

    - Musician / Famous Musician

    - MMA Fighter/Former MMA Fighter

    - Boxer/Former Boxer

    - Pro Martial Artist/Former Pro Martial Artist

    - Social Media (Heavy user/Shuns)

    - Career Woman

    - No Pregnancies

Merc Sales - I'd suggest we don't use these

    - Marketing Nightmare

    - Unmarketable

    - Easily Marketable

    - A Marketing Dream

Irrelevant to RTG - I think all of these are irrelevant because they affect how AI workers react or don't kick in until late in a career.

    - Daredevil/Fearless/Stuntman/No Stunts

    - Will risk injury

    - No Comedy matches

    - Deathmatch wrestler

    - Natural Trainer

    - Desperado

    - Ahead of their time

    - Homebody/World Traveller

    - Deep Roots

    - Masked for Life

    - Can't Fight Time

    - Loyal/Itchy Feet
