  1. <p>It does seem like the game is super easy now that Adam relaxed the pop cap. Before there were a few tops stars to fight over but now all the big companies have four or five guys at 90+ pop.</p><p> </p><p>

I have been booking my game around the Syndicate. Roderick Remus and Marc Speed are my top heels and I had Roger Cage and Bruce the Giant join them to form the newest version of the group. I recently added Aaron Knight too. </p><p> </p><p>

Things are about to kick up a notch though because I risked my job to sign the one...the only...Tommy Cornell Jr.! Cage is currently talking Cornell up in interviews to get him towards the 45 pop needed to become recognisable and start to build momentum. </p><p> </p><p>

Once Cornell is over and experienced enough it is a very simple story to tell; TC Jr. wants to be his own man and not be shackled down by The Syndicate. He leaves the group and is attacked by his old team mates and slowly beats them all until he defeats Remus at Total Mayhem for the World Title and control of The Syndicate. He fills the group with the friends he made on his journey up and we have a babyface Syndicate...until another young talent comes along and Cornell feels threatened enough to turn the Syndicate back to the dark side to keep himself on top.</p>

  2. Workers rated as "Unimportat" don't get momentum changes from matches. It's a double edged sword.... unimportant workers won't end up with tanked momentum as you build their popularity up towards Recognisable, but similarly they don't get momentum gains at the point when barely anyone knows or cares about them.

Angles can still produce momentum changes for Unimportant workers, so you have to be careful about that as it's very easy to end up giving someone a momentum damaging loss in an angle that won't be fixed by a win in a match.

Thanks Derek. I did some more research on the board and it does seem like angles are the way until workers are over enough to be recognisable. Running a Large company probably means they need to be pretty over to be recognisable too (about 50 pop).

I don't use storyline success so I guess it's just a case of putting up and comers in storylines with over talent?

What do you think is happening with Cabellero? Bad destiny?

Edit: I remembered that Caballero had a stinker of an angle on a B show which backs up the angle idea even more

  3. I'm running TCW and having difficulty getting any of my unimportant workers to recognisable and I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this;

Do wins on pre-show matches for TV increase momentum? So far I have seen no effect at all

Do wins on B-shows increase momentum? Again I have seen no gains from this either.

I have been trying to get my UC over and he has 13 wins in a row on tv but has not increased from warm momentum (which he got to ages ago). Does it matter that these wins are in 3v3s? He the one getting the pins.

Is my game bugged? Is momentum gain just really slow in TEW 2020? I can't find a way to test it because the editor doesn't show momentum.

Sorry to bump this so quick but can someone tell me how Felipe Caballero is losing momentum here:

    pD79J4J.png

Proficent Playboys is his tag team. He has a very good gimmick and is in a storyline with a fairly good success level.

He was neutral momentum forever, despite a winning record for the past 12 months and now he has dropped to cooled despite me pushing him.

I don't think the loss to Americana (who is a major star) dropped his momentum, I think it happened after the tag team win on a b-show.

I don't get it, I have been playing these games for 15 years and this is the most frustrated I have been with it.

  4. Momentum

  5. I've got an interesting challenge in my game now. Runaway Train was the owner who hired me as booker but he has left the business three months later leaving his daughter Lisa Bowen in charge. Lisa has set me the goal of hitting Large within two years but also not to hire anyone that works for a medium sized company or higher. Since i'm in 2025 everyone with Wrestleworld is at least medium leaving me with a total of ten promotion to scout talent from...

It's taken me seven months to finish 2026 but I have now and we are finally competing with SWF and USPW. We won show of the year for Psycho Circus 2026 and company of the year too which was great. The main event players are Roderick Remus, Marc Speed, Americana Jr and Chris Flynn all of who are over 90 overness now. As for the TCW legends:

Tommy Cornell - USPW since Oct 2021, one time world champion

Wolf Hawkins - Died after falling into a shark tank :(

Aaron Andrews - SWF since Jan 2024, no titles!

Greg Gauge - USPW, one time world champion

Maybe i'll be able to get some of them back at some point (not Wolf).

2025 - 30. “Golden boy” You can’t put a foot wrong in the ring at the moment, add “Midas Touch” to your attributes

I unlocked about ten achievements from running TCW and it was a mixed bag for sure, some useful stat increases (and midas touch) but I am now a heavy drug user to go with my drinking and soft drug use.

Adding a dirty doctor to the beckstage area seems like a terrible idea but that was the roll....

  7. I've been grinding my way through this. I don't have as much time to play TEW as I would like, I find it a hard game to play after a day at work because it seems to take the same mental energy as my job but my save is always in the back of my mind.

I have reached the end of 2025 now, as a booker I have turned TCW around going from 72 pop in the US when I took over in Feb to 92 at the end of the year. Roderick Remus, Americana Jr. and Marc Speed have become mega stars and Jack Bruce, Emma Chase and RDJ are cutting 100 rated promos constantly.

We're still number four in the world and coming third out of three in the national battles but we are competing with SWF and USPW. One big problem I have is that my owner, Lisa Bowen, has decided that I can't sign anyone from a Medium size company or higher which means I can't try and poach workers from my rivals.

My UC...not so good, this is me after nearly 200 matches:

    6D86kqi.png

My selling and psychology are getting there but the top level stats are never going to be better than 60-65.

Here's my UC's best matches so far...

    dcIAcGq.png

The Commonwealth is my UC and Aaron Knight and The Bulldogs are my UC and Michael Gregory.

I'm still considered unimportant by the fans so it is probably time to give myself a push now rather than jobbing in the opening match.

  8. 1. Nothing specific but when i'm into wrestling I tend to play the hell out of TEW. Right now this Kenny Omega angle has me hooked and hyped so i'm back booking my Road to Glory save.

    2. I'm a big fan of Meltzer; he knows a lot of people in the business, he reports what he believes and he's not always right but he is right more than most wrestling journalists. He definitely writes much better than he talks though, sometimes Alvarez struggles to keep their shows together.

I don't mind his Japanese wrestling and AEW bias because I have the same biases.

  9. 10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="soxfan93" data-cite="soxfan93" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47568" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Do pre-show wins build momentum? I'm trying to get some cooled workers back to neutral but they seem to be getting worse rather than better.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I did a search for an answer to this but I didn't see that anyone answered it. Does anyone know? I ask because I have been booking TCW with nine shows a month for three months now and my unimportant workers have not gained momentum at all no matter how many Pre show wins I give them. Most of the guys I am trying to push have had 10-15 wins and no change.</p>
  11. Good luck Charismatic Enigma, it's tough challenge this year.

My game has turned upside down because I managed to land the bookers job at TCW! They are struggling right now, all the big stars have left and Wolf Hawkins is dead. Roderick Remus is world champion and although he's no Aaron Andrews he is doing a great job.

I teamed Glorious George up with Aaron Knight as The Commonwealth so he should gain skills quickly. I was part of an 80 rated tag match on the last TCW Presents Total Wrestling (despite having an in-ring performance of 34!) so here's another roll:

    38. “Casting Call" You have been cast in a small TV show, next stop Hollywood! +5 points to spend across Charisma and Acting. Also add TV Actor to Misc for your character. If previously your character had "TV Actor" add "Movie Star"

Yes! Not an addiction for once! I can always use more charisma so I upped it from 62 to 67.

I am now a hard drinking, soft and hard drug taking, TV actor with a chequered past - no wonder I play badass so well. All at 23 years old too.

  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="d12345" data-cite="d12345" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47616" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>How long did it take for Aaron Andrews, Mighty Mo, Jay Chord, Huggins and Edd Stone to get poached?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Andrews went to SWF in Jan 2024, he's tearing it up there with 99 rated matches all over the place</p><p> </p><p> Mighty Mo lasted until Dec 2024 before heading to USPW</p><p> </p><p> Huggins went to USPW in May 2022</p><p> </p><p> Edd Stone lasted until May 2024 and he is now with CZCW and holds their main belt.</p>
  13. I'm on cloud nine at the moment boys because I just got the TCW booking gig in my Road To Glory game. I'm in February 2025 and TCW are in pretty bad shape:

    • All the big stars are gone (Roderick Remus is champion and is the only main eventer who can really work)
    • Wolf died :(
    • The tag division is deader than dead, as in Roderick Remus and Marc Speed are the only decent tag team

This is going to be quite a challenge.

There are a few free agents who can immediately come in and challenge for a slot in the main event; Acid II, Americana Jr, Lenny Brown and The Architect. Otherwise it's time for T-Bone Bright, Seth Whitehead and Nick Booth to take the final step.

I really want to get the tag division back to being the best in the world so the first few months are going to involve a lot of tag matches with random looking teams.

  14. I always play with factions because it gives an endless supply of storylines. I give my factions a theme to make it easier to remember the types of characters the members have.

I book on the principle that factions who fail are going to change something to turn things around (e.g. turn on members, disband, get more vicious etc) and successful factions will get over confident and be ripe for an implosion as the members argue over who was most deserving of credit for the success.

  15. Moving to Wrestleworld was a great success! We lost 55k in the first half of the year but grew to the point where we we are now making about 5k a month with one show. The size increase has been amazing; we grew 12 popularity points in the Midlands, 11 in the North and South and a few points in Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

Glorious George still needs a lot more experience though, we need to get to a stage where we can profitabily run 5 shows a month:

    XDbasVY.png

Roll for the end of 2024:

    14. “UHHHHHHH, WHAT A RUSHHHHHHHH” Add "Hard Drug User" to your character’s addictions. If you have this already then upgrade to "Heavy Hard Drug User" or "Former Hard Drug User" if previously a Heavy Hard Drug User.

Ugh, this guy is cursed. He is now a drinking, soft drug using, hard drug using ex criminal!

  16. While i've been thinking about the challenge I have also been carrying on with my save. I've reached the end of 2023 and just hit small. We have $100k in the bank and since I might need to restart anyway I decided to take a risk and up the production levels to sign up with Wrestleworld. We lost $13k in the first month so hopefully ticket sales pick up quickly enough to get close to breaking even by the time the $100k runs out.

Roll for hitting small: 24. “Aerial Assassin” You have devoted yourself to climbing that turnbuckle, +5 to your Aerial or Flashiness skill

Roll for the end of 2023: 17. “I Fought The Law And The Law Won” Add "Chequered Past" to your character's personality. If you have this already upgrade to "Often in Trouble" and if needed, "Most Wanted"

  17. Just to add more facts to the debate, i'm in year four of my game and the big promotions have had the following:

    BHOTWG - 2 99's and 4 98's

EILL - 2 100's and 15 99's (El Hereo Mexicano was involved in all but one of those matches)

    SWF - 1 100 and 16 99's

    TCW - 1 99

    USPW - 1 99

Three 100 rated matches in nearly four years tells me that they are near impossible to get

  18. I feel like after Patch 1.17 the starting money for this needs to be adjusted as it's not possible to avoid bankruptcy with a 0 pop company with only $1000 anymore. Before you could start turning a profit around month five, but now that is more like month ten or eleven and then they close you down at put you out of business in month fourteen.

So I just finished my first year running entirely in patch 1.17 and after. Using a very barebones roster of my UC 3 wrestlers average salaries of $30 per show each no referee and Honest Frank (owner) working for free. The economy was above 50 the whole time and the industry above 70, but because of the reduction to growth rate I finished the year $3k in the hole. Without an increase to the starting company finances I don’t believe this challenge will be feasible anymore.

Jumping back into my old save. Gonna try to see if I can get my overness above 75. If I still can't, I'm not sure this save is worth continuing. Going to be incredibly difficult to get a 100 match rating being capped at 75. I can hope through playing years and years I improve my in ring ability to such a point that being overness capped at 75 is fine, but I'm not sure I really wanna do that. I'll certainly be doing a new save regardless once Derek B finished the CV97 mod. I may be doing another default database one as well, we'll see.

Has anyone completed this challenge? Has anyone gotten a match rating of higher than 99? I've gotten two matches rated as such, one as a 98 and two more as a 97. 19 total matches of over a 90 rating. Granted the 99's happened in November and December, so the last 2 months of in game play time. Also noticed my SQ started somewhere in the low to mid 60's. Even with the steroid roll, it's only gone up to a 68. And if overness caps are calculated prior to game start, my SQ rising is irrelevant.

We might need to reset the challenge this time around. Unless the overness cap has been patched, getting a 100 rated match looks to be far too difficult. Added to this are DJ's comments about survival at the start of saves being more challenging.

Any suggestions are welcome. The obvious solution is to drop the completion requirement to a 99 rated match but increase the victory conditions around it. (e.g. your wrestler must have a 99 rated match in a PPV main event singles match for a company of at least large size)

Or instead of having one victory condition have points for achievements and see who can get the highest score (e.g. one point per company size increase, one point for every year booked, one point for every 99 rated match - to a max of ten, five points for selling out the biggest stadium on the game - ten points for getting into the Hall of Immortals.)

  19. <p>End of 2022</p><p> </p><p>

I finally got round to booking the end of 2022. It was a very tough year, I ran 16 shows and made a loss of about 3k and only gained 3 pop for my company. No wonder my character picked up a drug habit to go with his drinking:</p><p> </p><p>

<em>13. “P-A-R-T-why? Cos I Gotta!” Add "Soft Drug User" to your character’s addictions. If you have this already then upgrade to "Heavy Soft Drug User" or "Former Soft Drug User" if previously a Heavy Soft Drug User.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The industry is rising now after bottoming out in November and i've dumped some high earners so i'm hoping to make good progress in 2023.</p>

  20. Writing out shows

Not all the time or I wouldn’t play it. But I have lots of storylines and ideas. I don’t get a lot of spare time so don’t be write these down. I know in my head roughly where I am, but i get to a point where I start to write a show and have to remember where each storyline is, what needs to happen with who and how far away I am from a major PPV or a turn etc.

Id just love a system where we could wrote storylines out and select each part for each show before hand.

Eg rock v Austin. If I could write each raw segment for the next month and just drop that part in when it came to that show.

I know you can do this to a certain extent, but the way you can do it, is a chore itself lol

I know it's not the same but I can recommend Trello for planning the stories and copying and pasting the angles into the game.

There's a whole thread about Trello here: http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=546226&highlight=trello

  21. I've done a few L2G over the last few years in RW databases but this looks like a whole new ball park & I love it! Going to start one later today, quick question, is the idea to move promotions or can you stay with one (or is it just up to the person). Either way I'm going to spend a bit of time reading through the thread as everyones stories look interesting! :)

Feel free to move if you can get a new job. I've applied for about five with no success so far. Only as booker though, owner goals are part of the challenge.

  22. Has everyone given up on this :)

I've been really struggling to book 2022, I just completely ran out of ideas so I've been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey instead. I'm up to July 2022 at the moment and I think i've finally got enough ideas to finish the year.

My wrestling industry is now at 0 and the economy is at 33 and falling. I have a few written contracts coming up at the end of the year and I need to start making some hard decisions. At the moment I am breaking even by running 16 shows a year.
