He didn't care so much about the title as being the man to defeat Henry, but since Henry still has the belt, Slick's not going to let someone else step in and steal the shot from him. Just then, Roger Reed makes his way to the ring. He says that both Robbinfield and Slick need to take a step back. He lost the belt, sure, but he hasn't gotten a rematch for it, and it's time that he does. Henry never took the belt from him one-on-one, and if he ever faced him like that, Reed would win. Then the champ's music hits and Ross Henry makes his way to the ring. He doesn't quite enter the ring, but says he's been listening to what they've all said, and they all have good points. Blackfriar interfered in the title match at Paying Dividends. Henry has never defeated Slick. Reed never got his one-on-one match. But the fact is, that they're all wanting to get what he has, and none of them are going to do it. But right here, tonight, he comes with news. Pennyworth was able to make a tag to Sanchez, but the big man didn't fare much better, eventually succumbing to the Fisherman's Suplex. Phantom takes advantage immediately, taking to the air and throwing Windham off his game completely. Eventually, Phantom's momentum results in the Phantom Cradle, and the three count. These two put on a great match, neither one seemingly able to put the other away as they continue. The finish comes when CLM had finally gotten an advantage, and was setting up Huracan for the LAX Departure. As he gets her into position, Jillian Jarvis' music hits, and she starts to rush the ring. Machine drops Huracan to get into a defensive position, but Jarvis stops just short of the ring -- and Huracan gets to her feet and wraps California Love Machine into the Time-Square Lock right in the middle of the ring. He has no choice but to tap as Jarvis smirks on the outside of the ring. Reed and Slick started to make headway first, as Reed was able to knock Henry off the ring apron and start isolating Robbinfield. He and Slick worked back and forth on Robbinfield. As they did so, Slick would fight pretty standard, but Reed was making a point of using the ropes and shortcuts whenever he could. Once Henry was back and up, he made the hot tag, and took down both Reed and Slick fairly quickly. Slick was the legal man, and just working his way back up to his feet after a brutal shot from Henry when Reed nailed Henry with a steel chair behind the referee's back...but not behind Slick's back. He and Reed got into a shouting match, which resulted in Slick tagging Reed into the match, and then walking out, shaking his head as he went. Now in a glorified handicap match, Reed tried to take advantage of the hurt Henry, but he and Robbinfield were able to work well together to both recover, and the Earthquake Powerslam would seal the victory. This drew Long's attention and he didn't notice the pin, and allowed Hellcat to lay out Marcos and drag LaFleur to the corner. As Blackfriar dropped down, Hellcat makes the tag and goes to work on Jose. That is, until he waits for just one moment too long to continue the offensive, and Diaz rushes him and with a big shove, basically launches the smaller man into the turnbuckle back first. From there, Diaz is able to slow down the pace of the match, using his own patented slow methodical style to work Perez. Both held the other in submission holds for long periods, and both competitors had numerous near falls. I'll probably let him sit, as it should just be two shows. Pennyworth and Lindland did a great job selling for the bigger guys, and when they faced off against each other still managed to look good and competitive. T&L, Pure Savagery, Bitch Slap, Riot Act, Money Talks -- they're all heels. The only face teams we have are Fame Express and The Next Big Things. With the big man Micheal Savage in the ring, Harvey and Rocky teamed up from the get-go to try to eliminate him from the matchup, but Salvaje kept getting in the way, taking hits he didn't need to take, and in general being a frustration to all of his opponents. That proved to be an advantage later in the match, however, as the others started ignoring his presence completely. That let him be relatively fresh later on in the match. While he sat out, Savage basically fought a 2-on-1 match, and looked good doing it. The 'fields worked fairly well together, eventually taking Savage out of the ring. As soon as he was out, however, they turned on each other rapidly, trading hard blows and suplexes in the center of the ring. Just as it looked like Weatherfield might be gaining the other hand, Salvaje chose to make his presence felt again, tossing Harvey out of the ring and going on an offensive tear of his own. He would come out of this standing solo in the ring -- only for Micheal Savage to get back in and use his far greater size and strength to just beat down the veteran luchadore. After a painful-looking beating at the hands of the big man, Savage would hit Salvaje with his finisher and go for the cover -- but both Harvey and Rocky make the save. Salvaje rolls to the corner while the other three go at it again. This time, Rocky is the first one dazed and tossed out, but Harvey manages to use the distraction to nail an Omega Driver on Savage. Before he can cover, however, the big man smartly rolls out of the ring. Frustrated, Harvey looks around, and spots Tigre Salvaje just coming to in the corner. The boos turn to cheers as their opponents enter the ring, and Jackpot Jordan shows up in ring attire for the first time in over a year.</p><p> </p><p> The match itself turns out to be pretty good, with Jordan getting a fair amount of offense to showcase his return. Hernandez and LeFleur take the lions share of time in the ring for the Dark Watch, being manhandled by the tag team veterans. That said, Blackfriar was the legal man, taking on Cameron Jones in the ring and doing a good job of frustrating him with delaying tactics when the lights went out suddenly. The video screen lit up to show Matty Faith somewhere in a dark room -- obviously tied up and being forced to watch something that the camera doesn't quite catch. When the lights come back on, Jones is obviously distracted, so he is unable to defend against the Batwing. He knows he's outsized and weaker than his opponent, and he uses stick and move action to keep Diaz off balance. Even better, he anticipates the champions reversals easily, switching tactics at just the right time to keep Diaz guessing. Things go swimmingly for a good seven or eight minutes before Diaz manages to connect with a wild right hand that sends Phantom reeling. Pressing his advantage, Diaz goes on the offensive, driving Phantom into the mat time and again with power moves. When he goes for the Asian Thumb Spike, however, Phantom reacts instantly with the perfect counter, and is able to take control again. This time, he is able to get a near fall that seemingly enrages Diaz. Before Phantom can get seperation, Diaz has grabbed and twisted Phantom's mask, making it so the other man cannot see. He was eventually able to tag in Lindland who cleaned house, causing the champions to regroup outside -- only to be double teamed and driven into the barriers outside the ring. Barely making it back in the ring before being counted out, Lomas was then worked on by TNBT for some time, but they were unable to put him away. He finally tagged in Thunder, who laid waste to the challengers. All three men circle each other for a long while before Henry starts the action by locking up with Slick. Reed is content to stay back for a while and just ensure that any pin attempts are broken up. This goes on for some time before Slick and Henry get wise to his tactics and start to double-team the champion. Reed is able to get out of that situation by hitting a desperate move on Slick that sends him headfirst into the turnbuckle and out of the ring. Reed and Henry then lock up, wasting little time in trying to take each other down with giant moves. Henry would get the better of the exchange, prompting Reed to roll to the outside to catch his breath. This allows a recovered Slick to roll in the ring and start attacking Henry, eventually nailing him with the Slick-Back. Slick goes for the cover, but Reed breaks it up. Henry rolls to the outside while Slick and Reed fight back and forth, neither man truly getting enough of an advantage to go for the victory. This changes when Henry rolls in, nailing Slick with the Earthquake Powerslam out of nowhere. He is unable to even attempt a cover, though, as Reed is on him immediately, laying in lefts and rights. Henry covers up, and is starting to fight back...when the crowd starts reacting. Micheal Savage rolls into the ring and lays out Henry, despite Long's admonitions. In the announce booth, Emily McQueen crows about how smart Reed is being -- triple threat rules means no disqualification. There's nothing Long can to to end this match this way. The damage done, Savage rolls out and lets Reed make the cover. 1...2...KICKOUT! Reed and Savage are beside themselves. Reed picks up Henry to go for one more big move, but Henry makes him pay, landing an Earthquake Powerslam nearly out of instinct. I don't even remember what I put. Normally on something like that I would have gone for the Slow Build, which could have handled it. Still, getting a C- on a 22 minute all-out match is pretty good, in my opinion.</p><p> </p><p> Reed only gets one successful defense, but he just wasn't cutting it in the ring. He was the weak link in this match, and is rightfully going to drop out of the title picture.</p><p> </p><p> And just what is going on with the Dark Watch? </p><p> </p><p> --</p><p> </p><p> Outside of the show, we've hit the half-way point of the year. And what is this? Dudberry Excess is the leading contender for wrestler of the year? What the what? It looks like he really took off in 2025, jumping from #40 to #3. He fell to #5 last year, and is leading for #1 now. Wow. I never would have guessed that. </p><p> </p><p> Final note; going away from McGaw arena really helped. The extra 1200 people we packed in brought in $24,000 more, giving us a 5-digit profit this month (on a month where we spend extra anyway). That proved to be a fatal mistake, as he turned around into a low blow that was hidden from the referee by his own bulk. Once the big man was down, Thunder started his own offensive explosion. Slick and Henry showcased plenty of tension, tagging themselves in on multiple occasions. On the other hand, Reed and Savage showed plenty of teamwork, tagging in and out smoothly and with purpose. Due to both of these facctors, the champ and his partner slowly started taking control, eventually able to knock Slick out outside of the ring and double team Henry inside. Henry fought back with purpose, looking quite good in the process, but firmly being overwhelmed by the numbers advantage. Despite that, he kicks out of numerous near falls; he grabs the ropes for multiple submission attempts; in general, he makes Pure Savagery completely frustrated. Slick gets back to the corner just as Henry is temporarily able to drop both of his opponents, and there's a nice spot where Henry hesitates for a long moment, staring down at his future opponent. He turns his back, looking at Savage struggling to his feet, and then tags Slick into the match. Slick takes the tag and takes the fight to Savage and Reed, knocking both of them for a loop before finally nailing Savage with the Slick-Back. EMLL and MCOW's lead announcer Hector Moreno and long-time SWF stalwart Joe Sexy both passed on the same day; they were followed up just a couple weeks later by hardcore icon Johnny Martin. These obviously left some big holes in the independent scene; Martin's passing in particular left the dojo he owned without any active staff and it had to shut down. He also left IPW without a head booker, and a frantic search for someone to replace him.</p><p> </p><p> Speaking of head bookers, W$W's own Vin Tanner, road agent extraordinare, has stepped away from his duties as the head booker of AAA. Rumour has it that James Justice is going to step into the role at IPW, and Jack DeColt taking over the booking for the ladies. It'll definitely be interesting to see where these companies go from here.</p><p> </p><p> In other notes, the rollercoaster continues for the bigger companies. Per TotalExtremeWrestling.com, SWF and NOTBPW are both now considered cult companies rather than national; serious downgrades after both were promoted earlier in the year. Countering that, TCW is now considered a national company. Something tells me that these companies should get their houses in order. With even quicker bounces for a smaller company, SSWG did a similar up and down in the last couple months, being recognized as a regional company in April only to be downgraded to small in June.</p><p> </p><p> On the home front, as we enter the home stretch before our season finale at The Closing Bell, we definitely have some interesting things going on. Word is that Matty Faith is still missing after being taken by the Dark Watch. Investigators have had no luck tracking him down, and none of the members of the Dark Watch have been seen since that moment. Your truly is looking forward to embarrassing Riley McManus in our rubber match. The Next Big Things look like exactly that; will Thunder & Lightning be able to handle them? Once the action starts for real, Diaz easily takes control of the smaller man, using a variety of painful looking blows to wear down the champion slowly but surely. Diaz sets up Phantom for the Thumb Spike with the champion having not even gotten any offense in of note, but Phantom is able to use the momentum of the blow to roll through and send Diaz into the turnbuckle. Kicking into high gear, Phantom takes to the skies with a fast-paced offense that rocks the bigger man, eventually getting him off his feet. Phantom goes for the cover once, twice, three times, but Diaz kicks out every time. After that, a bit of a game of cat and mouse ensues, as Phantom tries to take to the air again for the momentum, but Diaz constantly closes in just a bit too quickly for the moves to be set up. The end comes when Phantom had finally gotten Diaz down on the ground again after a picture-perfect Frankensteiner, and went to the top rope to deliver the final blow. It turned out that Diaz was just playing possum, however, and once Phantom took to the air, he was on his feet in a moment. Phantom was caught in mid air, Diaz hit the Asian Thumb Spike, and we have a new champion. Just when it looked like Faith might have the match fully in hand, Blackfriar got to his feet in an instant, and snapped his fingers. The lights went out for a long moment, and when they were back, the rest of the Dark Watch was in the ring. As Marcel LeFleur and Hellcat Hernandez attacked Faith, Long had no choice but to call for the bell. The lights finally come back on -- but none of the wrestlers are present. All three members of the Dark Watch are gone, as is Matty Faith. But he did what they said he couldn't, and he claimed this title. So now he has to defend it tonight against Rocky Weatherfield -- and once he gets past this, he has to look forward to a triple threat match where he has to defend against two men at once. And not only that, he doesn't even have to be involved in the fall to lose his title. Just before Weatherfield has gotten fully in the ring, Reed is on him, driving fists into the challengers head while all he can do is cover up. The referee is finally able to force him to back off, and checks the challengers condition before ringing the bell. Once the bell rings, Reed is right back on the attack, driving Weatherfield to the mat almost before anyone knows what is happening. To his dismay, however, when he goes for the cover, Weatherfield kicks out. Not once, but three straight times. When he lifts his opponent up in frustration to go for a bigger move, Weatherfield gets a second wind and lands a vicious looking european uppercut that drives the champion all the way out of the ring. From there, it's a fairly normal paced match, as the two men are fairly good matches for one another in both size and strength, and with the sneak attack business out of the way, it becomes an open match. Weatherfield is able to get a couple near falls, Reed kicks out. Reed reverses and gets another couple near falls, but Weatherfield kicks out. Finally, Reed is able to hit the Stealth Crusher out of nowhere, and falls on Weatherfield for the pinfall. Winner by Pinfall: Roger Reed Roger Reed makes his 1st defense of the W$W Openweight Championship </td><td width="85" valign="bottom" align="right"> Time 13:23 Rating B-</td></tr></table> </div> </div> Final Thoughts Reed and Weatherfield deliver on an amazing match to finish off a damned good show. I was somewhat disappointed in Faith/Blackfriar -- but I have plans with that storyline, so hopefully it'll turn out ok. Diaz claims the belt, and now I have to figure out the next step for him and Phantom. Lots of things turning -- and too many people not being used. I might have to trim the roster soon. Jones used that moment to make a hot tag, and without anyone to tag to, The Fame Express made short work of Savage. Reed would notice and try to make the save, but got into the ring too late to make a difference, as Idol gets the duke. Pennyworth didn't notice, and celebrated a victory for just a moment too long, allowing McManus to recover and slap on a submission of his own. Pennyworth would fight it for a long time, but would eventually tap out, evening up the series.     <p>Excellent work, guys.</p><p> </p><p> I've been spending the last couple weeks writing code. This code allows me to set up folders with images (gif, png, or jpg), and then hit a button...and it then makes gif and jpg versions of every file in any of the subfolders. The JPGs are pretty clean, and can pretty much all be used. The gifs are in various states -- it basically goes pixel by pixel and compares to a baseline background jpg to remove the background. Therefore, there's usually some blue pixels hanging around, and some of them have entire lines (particularly if they weren't 150x150 already). </p><p> </p><p> BUT. I now have a 75 MB file that *should* contain everything from this thread that I've managed to download in both jpg and gif format, and all tagged with original author. You can find this in <a href="http://www.2d12.com/TEW/_rerender%20thread%203.zip" rel="external nofollow">this zip file</a>. </p><p> </p><p> Anyone who wants can also download the program I wrote to do this <a href="http://www.2d12.com/TEW/TEW%20Worker%20Image%20Consolidation.zip" rel="external nofollow">here</a>.     So I've been thinking about the lack of png support in the game -- that means that the game is still being written in Visual Basic 6, a 20 year old language that went out of support 10 years ago. VB.NET, the current version, definitely has support for pngs. So I'm curious why the language hasn't been updated? The way it works and the syntax is mostly the same, so an upgrade shouldn't be hard.

From there, the match went as normal, though with both men pulling out various weapons on numerous occasions. At least three chairs received obvious chair-destorying dents from vicious shots on downed competetiors, the ring steps were used and abused, and tables were pulled out. The ending of the match actually came from those same tables. Slick had pulled out a couple of tables, and managed to get them set up side by side in the ring while Henry was down outside the ring. After a bit more back and forth fighting, they both ended up on top of the ringpost. Slick tried for a superplex, but Henry was able to reverse, and both men ended up crashing through the tables. Forgot to look for Diaz's schedule, so Blue Phantom's match has to wait for a bit. Also, the second part of Slick/Henry was booked as a slow build, but I didn't give it enough time for that, because I was thinking of the whole match/angle/match time as part of the build. And a monthly event without a title match feels weird now. Also, having the best match of the night (and one of the best in W$W history) as the opener was surprising...but I might have to turn that into a storyline at some point in the near future. Two injuries in one match during Faith/LeFleur, though neither of them should be serious. Also, not a loss, but this is the first time in W$W that Henry didn't end up with a win during a match -- what does that mean for the future?</p><p> </p><p> Final Rating: C</p><p> </div></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p>

    <p>Not with the way the database is currently configured; and if I had to bet on 2020, it'll probably be configured the same way.</p><p> </p><p> I've been kind of working on a program that would allow you to merge all the existing databases for a world and pick a start date, but it's slow going doing it only when I have spare time (and with 3 kids to ferry around all the time, there's not much of that.) So I understand the complexity and why that wouldn't be out-of-the-box, but man, I would love if that would be the case.</p>

    Wow. 251 pages of re-renders. That was a long slog to go through and download them all. It's been fun to see styles evolve over time. For a while there, I was having trouble differentiating a couple of them from each other, but with the latest ones, I think I could have one put in front of me and know who made it. I have to ask, though. As I was going through, a lot of King Bison's earlier renders (pre-photobucket crash) were missing, and a lot of esteel20's later renders (pretty much same cutover) were missing. Either of you two have a full collection anywhere from both sides of that date?

After one DDT too many, however, McManus would bounce up to his feet and basically knock Pennyworth out of his shoes with a devastating lariat that left both men on the ground. McManus was the first to his feet, and gained control of the matchup. He was setting up for his finisher, when Lisa Bowen managed to grab his shoe as he was bouncing off the ropes, causing him to stumble...and stumble right into Pennyworth's arms. Pennyworth inverted him quickly, wrenching on the neck with the Money Clip, and McManus had no choice but to submit. I was actually disappointed in that rating, somehow was the poorest match of the night. And I was nervous about having the midcarders main event the show, but Salvaje hasn't exactly been lighting his matches on fire, so I didn't think they'd do any better, and none of the other matches felt like main event material. Only two matches currently booked for Breaking the Bank, but you know there'll be more. That's one of the problems with not having multiple shows to set things up--it always feels like you're reaching. Final Rating: C </div>

    Yeah, that's a bit noisy. I like the images themselves, but the background looks to be just static, and kind of overwhelms the image. Your observation was not correct. Most of them have, actually. I think Juana Huracan and Nick Booth failed, but everyone else got it. May have taken them a couple tries, but they all got it. Actually, she's a regen. Taylor had an accidental death a couple years back (she was on my shortlist, too).

Lomas prevents Idol from making the save, and we have new tag team champions. It didn't take much longer for both weapons to come into play, as Henry ate a hard chair shot and returned with a sledgehammer to the gut. From there, the match devolved into a hard hitting affair with no quarter asked or given by either competitor. Violence abounded, and both men were very quickly finding it hard to even stand. Eventually, Savage would hit a vicious powerbomb through a ringside table, leaving Ross Henry completely out of it, but outside the ring. Eyeing the ring wearily, Savage slowly tries to drag Henry to the ring, but when he tries to roll him in, his legs completely buckle, and he collapses to the mat. For a long moment, both men are down and out, as Francis Long checks on them both. Savage is the first to stir, but Henry is right behind him, as both men instinctively climb into the ring. Pulling themselves to their feet, they wearily trade blows back and forth. One hard hit rocks Henry back into the ropes, but he uses the momentum to pull out a desparate lift, and slams Savage to the mat with an Earthquake Powerslam. Collapsing on top of his opponent, neither man moves as Long counts to three, giving Henry the hard fought win. Trading momentum shifts throughout the slow build of the match, Reed would lose control for good after a top rope elbow drop hit nothing but the mat. Robbinfield would fully gain control after that, hitting big move after big move, and was without a doubt going to complete the good-guy recovery and victory. But then, he set up Reed for one final move, and the challenger slipped out of his grasp, countered it into a rollup, and grabbed a handful of tights that Francis Long was unable to see. That advantage was just enough to keep Robbinfield down for the count, and we have a dastardly new champion. As the camera fades to black, Ditterich is heard complaining about just how the championship changed hands, but it changed hands nonetheless. Winner by Pinfall: Roger Reed Roger Reed wins the W$W Openweight Championship </td><td width="85" valign="bottom" align="right"> Time 19:10 Rating C</td></tr></table> </div> </div> Final Thoughts Reed was hitting his fatigue limit on that last match, but Robbinfield could have still gone a bit longer, and that was with a 'Steal the Show' match lasting 19 minutes. I was honestly a little disappointed in how this show turned out; seems that neither Henry nor Savage were particularly comfortable with the hardcore match, and none of the big ones that I was hoping for good stuff out of turned out quite as good as I was expecting. As for the Openweight title switch -- I went back and forth on that one for a while before deciding on the tainted switch. Henry has still got the called shot in his pocket (unless Cali takes it from him), and having Reed with the title gives that a Heel-Face match instead of Face-Face, and I kind of wanted to give Reed and Savage a decent push. With Henry continuing his undefeated streak (22-0 now in W$W, I checked) against Savage, it went to Reed to claim victory. I think of all the matches I was disappointed with, Phantom/Slick was the one I was most disappointed by. A C- to start the show just wasn't what I was looking for. Maybe Phantom isn't quite ready to get the good grades just yet. Final Rating: C </div>

Just when it seemed that he was about to put the big man down, Richard Pennyworth III slid into the ring, nailing McManus upside the head with a crowbar, giving Francis Long no choice but to call for the DQ. This match is held in triple threat elimination rules -- three wrestlers in the ring at once, and when one member of the team is pinned or submits, both members of the team must leave ringside. Mike Aroma, a super heavyweight, starts out in the ring against Juana Huracan and Lightning Lomas, dwarfing both of his competitors in size and stature. Despite early attempts at teamwork between Huracan and Lomas, Aroma simply overwhelms them in the early going with his sheer size. It took a blind tag to Thunder and a surprise chop block to take the big man off his feet. After that, the two heel teams kept him isolated and worked on his legs for a long period of time before he was finally able to throw them off and get a tag to Lindland. Lindland came in and tried to clean house, but Bitch Slap and Thunder & Lightning worked together too well, and referee Long was overwhelmed trying to keep control, essentially turning it into a 4-on-1 match for about four minutes while Aroma recovered. By the time he did, Jarvis already had Lindland in a cover, and got the three count as Aroma desperately tried to get through the ropes. Elimination: The Next Big Things Down to two teams, the action picked up a tick, but all four competitors were obviously fatigued from having taken down the two bigger men in a concerted effort. A minute or so of fast-paced offense, and Thunder had rolled up Jarvis with a schoolboy, getting the pinfall and winning the match. Henry immediately asked for the tag in, and as soon as he was tagged in, Savage tagged in Reed. Then the situation reversed, with Robbinfield wanting in, and Savage coming back in as soon as that tag was made. Henry asked for the tag again, but this time, Robbinfield ignored him and charged across the ring to Savage, and the action was underway in earnest. This was a decent match that showcased the newly formed tag team, giving both men a bit of momentum as they held off, and even controlled, the Openweight champion and presumptive #1 contender. The heels were able to play keepaway for most of the match, only tagging in to face their own foe when the face was already at a disadvantage, and using the dq counts quite effectively for double teaming. Then, just when it seemed like they were about to get the victory, with Savage pinning Robbinfield, Henry rushed the ring, landing a devastating Earthquake Powerslam on Savage, and then spearing Reed off the ring apron into the barrier keeping the crowd away. He got back to his corner in time for Robbinfield to make the tag, and lifted Micheal Savage up for one more Earthquake Powerslam, this time holding on for the pin. Nothing overly ambitious, but it set up for Bear Market Beatdown well, establishing 5 matches for that show. As things were really starting to look dire, however, a desperation jawbreaker from Jones stunned Thunder for long enough to make the hot tag to Jake Idol. He cleaned house to a huge cheer from the crowd, and the faces were in control from then on. With a couple of quick tags back and forth to a now recovered Jones, Idol was eventually able to hit Jason Thunder with the Reality Check and make the cover. Taking advantage of the shocked Faith, Ryland was able to get some offense of his own going, and scored not one, not two, but three near falls in a row. Inevitablely, however, Faith would recover, and would get the pinfall with Faith Falls Eternal. Perez would be able to use his speed to his advantage on occasion, sending Diaz to the outside with a picture-perfect rana, and while he was still recovering followed it up with a huge plancha dive. Perez struggled to get the dead weight of Diaz back into the ring following this spot, and when he finally maanged it and entered the ring himself, it turned out Diaz was playing possum. A vicious looking Asian Thumb Spike dropped Perez to the mat instantly, and Diaz made a lacksadasical cover for the 3. It seems, though, that Silencer would have something to say about that. He has been primarily a tag team wrestler here in his second stint in W$W, but has never managed to taste the gold himself. To prove that he should be in the conversation as well, he resorts to dirty tactics early and often, keeping Aroma on his toes trying to defend against eye gouges, low blows, and late rope breaks. He sticks it out, however, and manages the comeback victory when he hits the Cracked Facebreaker. Pennyworth and McManus renewed a rivalry that dates back nearly to the founding of W$W shortly before the end of the year. While both teams are rather slap-dash, they both manage to work well enough with their respective partners to have a good tag team match. Each of the four men in the ring have held Tag Team gold of some sort in the past, so they all know what they're doing. Pennyworth starts in the ring against Phantom, and quickly starts putting painful looking holds on the Blue Chip champion, wearing him down and taking his legs away from him. He and Slick show some decent tag work as they continue to work Phantom over and keep McManus frustrated on the apron. They even manage to pull him into the ring a couple times with dirty tactics, drawing the attention of Francis Long and allowing them to improvise some double team maneuvers. It almost looks like it would be over when Pennyworth locks on the Money Clip in the center of the ring, but McManus rushes into the ring, knocks Slick off the apron, and lays out Pennyworth all in one rebound move. Dragging his partner to the corner, he makes the tag himself, and starts whipping Pennyworth all around the ring as Slick continues to recover on the outside. By the time Slick has recovered, Phantom is back up as well, and both sides do some rapid fire tags trying to tanke another advantage. The end comes with Phantom surprises everyone with a Phantom Cradle; the count was at 2 before Slick even realized what was happening, and hit 3 before he entered the ring to make the save. The two men get in each other's faces for quite a while, going nose to nose and muttering at each other. When they finally separate, Robbinfield tells Francis Long that he's putting the belt on the line here tonight, no matter who his opponent is. The bell rings, and Reed wastes no time in attacking the champion, though Robbinfield is obviously angry and practically laughs off the early blows. This escalates a bit when he simply shrugs off a vicious rebound clothesline attempt. Reed visibly snaps, and starts laying waste to the champion using any means neccessary, mostly moves that look like they could potentially injure the champ -- chop blocks, attacks to the knees, a horrendous chop right to the adams apple. No longer able to no-sell, Robbinfield has no choice but to absorb the punishment for a long while, just trying to look for an opening. When he finally finds one, the crowd goes wild, and it looks like the champ might be able to pull it out...that's when Micheal Savage surprises everyone and slides in the ring. Francis Long gets in his face and demands he leave, but Savage just steps past the ref and lays out Robbinfield. Suddenly there is a roar from the curtain, and Ross Henry rushes the ring, spearing Savage out of the sky and turning to attack Roger Reed immediately afterwards. Robbinfield has recovered at this point, and he and Henry square off against Savage and Reed, laying heavy blows on one another as Long calls for the bell, throwing out the match. Faith is going to have to deal with the Dark Watch, we've got the sudden alliance of Savage and Reed, and Ross Henry still needs to get his title shot. Allen would hold form early, making Machine work from behind for much of the match, trying to swing momentum his way. He would finally get there around the six minute mark, and was nearly able to put Allen away, but she slipped out of the LAX Departure and turned it into a Northern Lights Suplex, holding on for the pin. The heels tossed the smaller Caballeros all around the ring, used dirty tactics, and in short, played up being heels to the best of their ability. The Caballeros, for their part, sold like champs. Marcos was able to get a hot tag at one point, and sent both Lomas and Thunder packing outside the ring, but they regrouped quickly, and shortly after that, Lomas hit the Thunder Struck for the pinfall. He was focused and determined to regain his momentum after losing his opportunity at the title, and he was in control for much of the match. Reed would use a thumb to the eye a ways in to take control for some time, and it looked like the end might be near when Weatherfield kicked out of a sure fall at a 2.9 count not once, but twice in a row. Then followed the inevitable face comeback, and an Implant DDT gave Weatherfield the win in 18:27. Winner by Pinfall: Rocky Weatherfield © http://www.2d12.com/RTG/Workers/Ross%20Henry.jpghttp://www.2d12.com/RTG/Workers/Tigre%20Salvaje.jpg Ross Henry vs Tigre Salvaje Jr Tigre just can't go as much anymore, but even then, he still manages to put on a decent show. For once, it looked like Henry might be in trouble, as Salvaje used greater technical skills to wrap the bigger man up in hold after hold. Henry was not to be denied, however, and eventually just peeled Salvaje off his latest hold with pure brute strength, and shortly afterwards, hit the Earthquake Powerslam for the victory in 9:25. Winner by Pinfall: Ross Henry (C+) -- A decent show, resetting the field to move forward for the new year. Henry continues his undefeated streak and is on a collision course with the champ. Blue Phantom and Cali Slick are bound to go head to head with each other. Thunder & Lightning continue to build momentum. And you know the Dark Watch is out there, plotting and planning their next move. Show's final rating was a C+, still easily good enough to raise our popularity in New England. Got pictures up, so that's something. I'm still not really happy with the show format though. Any suggestions? Also, looked into Rich Money. He won't talk to me right now because I'm too small, and he's commanding more than twice what I'm paying anyone else. So...a good idea, but maybe one who's time has yet to come.

While the announcers put over the fact that whoever won this bout was going to have to face a completely fresh competitor in the semi-final round, it was obvious that the two in the ring weren't thinking that far ahead and were completely focused on their current opponent. Some good back and forth action, and Reed would eventually take control and have Faith at his mercy. At least, it looked like he was, until Faith was able to get his knees up on a top-rope move, and from there he had control. A couple big moves to set up his opponent, and the Leap of Faith made victory academic in 12:04. Winner by Pinfall: Matty Faith (C-) Camera cuts backstage, where we see Micheal Savage has been watching the match. He taunts Matty Faith, telling him that he put his body on the line for nothing, that when Savage meets him in the ring, there will be nothing left. C- Buy-In Tournament Quarterfinal Matchup Ross Henry vs Juana Huracan Henry started this match on absolute fire, leaving Huracan to scramble to try to find some offensive maneuvers. She eventually was able to stunt the offense of the undefeated superstar with some...questionable...tactics, but even that wasn't enough to last for long. Even winded from the low blow, Henry was able to drive Huracan into the ring with an Earthquake Powerslam for the 1-2-3 in 7:37. Winner by Pinfall: Ross Henry (C+) We cut backstage, where W$W Blue Chip Champion Blue Phantom has turned a corner and run directly into Cali Slick. The two of them exchange heated words, and nearly come to blows, but slightly cooler heads prevail -- Phantom challenges Slick to meet him in the ring later tonight. Slick agrees with a long eye on the Blue Chip belt. B- Buy-In Tournament Quarterfinal Matchup California Love Machine vs Aldous Blackfriar This match had some pretty good action, but was mostly used by the announcers to talk about other events -- Slick vs Phantom that was just made official, Faith taking on Savage, and Ross Henry's continuing undefeated streak. When Aldous Blackfriar got the submission, cleanly, in 9:45, they verbally questioned whether or not the cult leader would be able to take on Henry in the same way. Winner by Submission: Aldous Blackfriar © W$W Tag Team Championship Match http://www.2d12.com/RTG/WSW%20Tag%20Team.jpg Thunder & Lightning (Jason Thunder & Lightning Lomas) vs The Fame Express (Cameron Jones & Jake Idol) w/Jackpot Jordan © Thunder & Lightning are newly turned heel, and they took full advantage of every rules loophole they could find in this match. They attacked with the ropes, they stayed in the ring far longer than they should have after a tag, they had the outside guy attack the legal man on the other team. And it was working for them, as they time and time again were able to get an advantage that ALMOST got them the victory. Eventually, it all came to a head after another blow to the back of Cameron Jones' head by Lightning Lomas when he wasn't the legal man, and both teams jumped in the ring attacking each other for long enough that Francis Long had to throw the match out. Draw by No Contest ©, The Fame Express are still W$W Tag Team Champions The match is over, but the brawl continues. It would eventually see Thunder & Lightning take out first Cameron Jones, then Jake Idol, leaving both champions down and out while the challengers stand tall. D+ Non-Title Match Cali Slick vs Blue Phantom After a draw at Public Relations 19 and an argument backstage, these two men come out here and try to show the world that they are better than the other. While Phantom manages to get his offense in here and there, he's never really able to get momentum that sticks. Cali, on the other hand, is able to throw the smaller man around the ring with ease, and is eventually able to land the Slick-Back for the victory in 14:22. Winner by Pinfall: Cali Slick © Matty Faith comes to the ring, and talks about his match with Micheal Savage. He says that yes, Savage is the fresher man, but that doesn't account for experience. Tonight's his night, and he can feel it -- Savage will lose, and Faith will go on to win the Buy-In Tournament. D+ Buy-In Tournament Semifinal Matchup Matty Faith vs Micheal Savage Faith tries to put his money where his mouth is, and starts the match fast and furious, causing Savage to go on the defensive for quite some time. It's obvious, though, that Savage is just trying to weather the storm, and eventually he is able to plow over Faith with a vicious clothesline that is the beginning of the end. It's quite obvious that Faith is still tired from his earlier bout, and Savage takes full advantage, hitting the Locked Hate Demolisher for the pinfall in 8:35. Winner by Pinfall: Micheal Savage (C+) Buy-In Tournament Semifinal Matchup Ross Henry vs Aldous Blackfriar Blackfriar seems overwhelmingly confident from the beginning of this match, playing with Henry by using rope breaks constantly. Henry was getting visibly frustrated by these tactics, but Blackfriar continued to play keep-away from nearly four minutes before Henry was finally able to get his hands on him. From there, the match kicked into high gear, with both men going on flurries of offense back and forth. Henry would eventually take control and look to be setting himself up for victory when Blackfriar would pretend to be injured, drawing Long's attention. This would be the cue for Hellcat Hernandez and Marcel LaFleur to slide in and lay out Henry with an Evil Rites. Blackfriar would scramble to make the cover, but was a bit too quick in moving, and Long caught LaFleur leaving the ring. With Henry down and LaFleur in the ring, Long quickly called for the bell, awarding Henry the DQ victory in 13:43. After that, it was all business. They started with a long feeling out period, each jockying for any little advantage they could get. Rocky would take control first, but that wouldn't last, and each man was able to have the advantage numerous times over the course of this long match. Eventually, both men exhausted and frustrated by numerous near pins, Harvey would just barely get Rocky up off the ground, but manages to nail a picture perfect Omega Driver to get the pin and the 6th defense of his belt in 22:20. Winner by Pinfall and STILL W$W Openweight Champion: Harvey Robbinfield (C+) Ross Henry comes out to the ring for the Buy-In final match, and grabs a microphone. He tells Savage that he may have gotten lucky once tonight, and he may be the fresher man, but Henry is undefeated, and that isn't going to change tonight. C 2027 Buy-In Tournament Final Ross Henry vs Micheal Savage Savage didn't like what Henry had to say just before the match, and the two men came to grips quite quickly, trading offense back and forth with tremendous flurries. Both men are big, but Henry had to play the underdog in this matchup as Savage is just a bit bigger, and had the strength advantage in this fight. It did seem to throw Henry off his gameplan for a bit, but eventually he found his footing, and was able to use his greater speed to his advantage. It was a battle of attrition, but little by little, he took down Savage's base, and was eventually able to get the big man up...and back down with the Earthquake Powerslam, giving him the pinfall victory and the Buy-In Tournament championship in 13:41. Winner by Pinfall and 2027 Buy-In Tournament Champion: Ross Henry (B) Ecstatic with victory, Ross Henry celebrates wildly, going into the stands to celebrate with the fans, who lap it up, cheering him on. B- -- Hell of a show. Hell of a show. Henry pulls out two B rated matches in one show (turn out to be #5 and #7 matches in W$W history), and has to be viewed as the top contender for the championship going forward as his undefeated streak continues. Savage did far better than I thought he would, rising to the challenge of taking on two top contenders who had been weakened, and making both matches things of glory. The main event helped make this tournament our third B- rated show and best of all time, setting 2027 up for great things.

Salvaje Jr gets some good offense in relatively early, but it doesn't take long for Savage to weather the storm and turn the game around. Shortly thereafter, the upset is complete, as he nails Tiger Salvaje Jr with the Locked Hate Demolisher for the pinfall in 7:21. </p><p> <strong>Winner by Pinfall: Micheal Savage (D+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> Rocky Weatherfield comes to the ring to talk about his match for the W$W Openweight Championship in two weeks. He's ranked #12 for this tournament -- but he's facing perhaps the greatest Blue Chip champion in W$W history, Cali Slick. Cali comes in at #5, riding high after some successful fueds with Matty Faith and Rocky Weatherfield in the last year. Neither man held back, both wanting to show they were better, both in the Blue Chip division as well as trying to climb the ladder to the top. In the end, the action spilled outside the ring. Intent upon each other, neither man heard referee Francis Long's count until the last moment, and neither one made it back into the ring. He talks about how he is happy to be finally getting some good competition...good, but not great. Pennyworth is a triple crown champion, but has fallen down the card in recent years, and is only #14 in the sixteen man field. Still, he is able to give as good as he gets, with both men trading blows back and forth, and neither one giving an inch. [ED: If only either of these guys were good at selling this match would be the bomb.] Lisa Bowen did her best at ringside to distract either the referee or Henry, but it wasn't to be, and Henry eventually caught Pennyworth with the Earthquake Powerslam for the pinfall in 11:30.</p><p> <strong>Winner by Pinfall: Ross Henry (B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Buy-In Tournament First Round Matchup</strong></p><p> Riley McManus vs Aldous Blackfriar</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Like Pennyworth in the previous match, McManus has a long history of titles in W$W, but after losing the Tag Team championship a few months back, he has struggled to regain his momentum. He comes in ranked #15, facing off against #2 ranked Aldous Blackfriar. Blackfriar and his Dark Watch stable have hounded the last two other champions, driving American Elemental II out of the company completely, and being a constant thorn in the side of Harvey Robbinfield since he took the title away from Blackfriar. Last month saw a last man standing match that supposedly ended Blackfriar's challenges for the title, but he is in this tournament to try to get another shot. And it turns out that he wasn't leaving anything to chance -- he was able to distract the referee at a critical moment, and Hellcat Hernandez slid into the ring to lay out Riley McManus. Recovering swiftly, Blackfriar locked on the Gloomweaver Clutch to earn the submission victory in 9:05.</p><p> <strong>Winner by Submission: Aldous Blackfriar ©</strong></p><p> </p><p> Harvey Robbinfield, title belt over his shoulder, replies to Rocky Weatherfield's earlier promo. He claims that as good as Rocky might be, Harvey is better. Jillian earns the higher seed at #7 due to having held the Tag gold more recently, but #10 CLM is no slouch. There were no holds barred as these two went back and forth for the longest match of the night. Momentum shifts abounded, as it looked like both would be victorious multiple times, but eventually, CLM would hit the LAX Departure for the pinfall in 14:23.</p><p> <strong>Winner by Pinfall: California Love Machine ©</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Buy-In Tournament First Round Matchup</strong></p><p> Matty Faith vs Amber Allen</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> It's been some time since she did it, but Amber Allen is a former Openweight Champion here in W$W. Unfortuantely, her time in NOTBPW left her trying to climb back up the card when she returned, and she's ranked #16 here in this tournament despite putting on some incredible matches. Matty Faith has had a good year, but hasn't yet tasted gold. W$W officials think that it's about time he pulls that off, and have ranked him #1 for a reason. In this match, the two pulled out all the stops, putting on the show of the night without a doubt. They even teased Amber getting the victory a couple times, but Faith was just too resolute, and would not stay down for the three count. He eventually nails the Leap of Faith for the victory, pinning Allen at 11:50.</p><p> <strong>Winner by Pinfall: Matty Faith (B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> --</p><p> </p><p> A damned good show, with two matches that will probably leap into the top 10 from the company included. Sets up Incredible Public Onslaught 2027 with some solid matches for the tournament, and a decent title match as well. The show's final rating was a <strong>C+</strong>. Wish I'd known Ross/Pennyworth was going to be so good.
