  1. <p>Feels like the league's gonna be another dogfight.</p><p> </p><p>

Frankie Perez vs. <strong>Mr. Lucha III</strong></p>

  2. Round 1

    MATCH CARD

    Frankie Perez vs. Nelson Callum

    Konrad Makinen vs. Yasuhide Tayama

    Landon Mallory vs. Riddick Jordan

Heihachiro Sakai vs. Mr. Lucha III

Ernest Youngman vs. Tigre Salvaje Jr

Winner predictions: 1. Youngman; 2. Mr. Lucha III

Being branded a choker will tick Youngman off more than anything that's happened to him so far. III is finally rid of Captain Lucha and I expect him to run wild.

  3. Now everyone else who contributed 50% or more to the predictions competition (DinoKea, christmas_ape, Editor6 and Herrbear), please submit any questions you would like Mr. Lucha III to answer on the podcast.

    ...

The last thing I'm toying with is doing end-of-year awards that you can all vote on, although I don't really want to do it if there's only one or two people who are interested enough to take part. If it's something you think is worthwhile, let me know. If not, I'll go off general sentiment from comments in the past and decide the winners myself. The awards would be pretty standard - wrestler of the year, match of the year, show of the year, most improved etc.

QUESTION: You've won the Prestige League before, and you've faced Frankie Perez for the PWL Championship. What do you think it will take for someone to take that title from him?

I can go either way on awards.

  4. PWL Prestige

    MATCH CARD

    Jotaro Tanaka vs. Nelson Callum

(Winner is promoted to the League)

Welcome back, Nelson. Now let's keep focus on the in-ring wrestling, hmmm?

    Mr. Lucha III vs. Warmonger

    (relegation playoff)

I expect either an unfocused III or Captain shenanigans. Or both. Who knows? WHO KNOWS.

    Byron vs. Riddick Jordan

    (relegation playoff)

Jordan's done enough to deserve to stay.

    Devilfish vs. Tigre Salvaje Jr

A tough call. Either way, this doesn't feel like it's ending here.

Ernest Youngman vs. Luis Figo Manico

Figo makes his point. But Youngman really shouldn't lose here.

Captain Lucha vs. Mr. Lucha III

    (No DQ, loser leaves PWL)

Another tough call, but I think Mr. Lucha III is the one you'd want to bring back at some point.

Frankie Perez © vs. Konrad Makinen

    PWL World Championship

    Yeah, it's time.

  6. And Fernandes was TCW's next target. So now California Love Machine has both belts. Is he good enough? We're about to find out.

He wasn't. Too inconsistent and forgetful of the spots. So a new signing made history as Poison Ivy beat him to become the first female singles champ in Zone history. Things have picked up since the title change (which wasn't great), with Ivy putting on a classic (71) against Kate Lilly at Christmas Cage Chaos. Lilly and Rose are still tag team champions, but will that be enough for Kate now?

Also, who's taking down Ivy? Remmy Skye tearing his quad in August (and not even with us) hurt our main event scene just as much as anything else. Right now it's the likes of the recently returned from an Achilles injury Al Coleman, Jonnie Perez and El Jaguar jockeying for position at the top of the card.

CCC 2022 was one of our best shows yet (66). The semi-main was a return match for the COTT World Heavyweight title as former champ CLM tried but failed to avenge his title loss to Cali Slick at IPW's November event. The other two cage matches were JOJI defending the Xtreme Title against Zel Quinn and Jay Becker beating Malik Cash in the breakup of the Inner City Express.

Also, Debbie Rose beat Yuma Maruya. What's she doing here? Well, she quit 5SSW earlier in 2022. A disagreement with Miwako Katsukawa went public, some things happened, and Yuma ended up walking out. She wrestled some big indy shows in Japan but she's done everything she's ever gonna do over there. It's not like she's joining WINNOW; she's 37. So I took a flier on her and she agreed to come over.

A huge story that ended up affecting us: Allen Packer stepped down from running USPW... and Pee-Wee Germaine took over. Yes, our Pee-Wee. And he took The Guru with him as the new head booker.

We've been running the Grissom regularly since the middle of the year and clearing $60-80k in profit monthly. And we're on the cusp of Medium. Almost all of our rivals have added weekly TV. Is it time for us to do the same...?

  7. <p>Devilfish vs. <strong>Konrad Makinen</strong></p><p>

    Riddick Jordan vs. <strong>Yasuhide Tayama</strong></p><p>

    <strong>Frankie Perez</strong> vs. Kalu Owusu</p><p>

<em>Playing a hunch, which seems strange to say regarding Frankie.</em></p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>Masked Cougar & Nelson Callum</strong> vs. Orange Tsuchie & Tsuneyo Yanagimoto</p><p>

    <em>Callum's back? Hm.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Captain Lucha vs. <strong>Tigre Salvaje Jr</strong></p><p>

    <strong>Ernest Youngman</strong> vs. Mr. Lucha III</p>

  8. So I'm gonna de-lurk to say that I've enjoyed this so far, and to enter the prediction contest.

Konrad Makinen vs. Tigre Salvaje Jr

    Ernest Youngman vs. Riddick Jordan

    Devilfish vs. Kalu Owusu

    Frankie Perez vs. Yasuhide Tayama

Captain Lucha vs. Mr. Lucha III

Yes, I'm picking Tayama. Because I don't think Frankie's finishing top two and I need to be consistent. ;) Speaking of that:

League predictions: 1. Youngman 2. Tayama

  9. It's a new era in the Coastal Zone.

In about a two-week period in January 2022, both Masked Cougar (the Zone champion) and Frankie Perez signed with TCW. About a week or so before this, new COTT champion Otto can Battenberg announced he was leaving IPW.

So we gotta do two farewells and a title change at Vendetta in February. I guess it's time for Frankie-Boy Fernandes's coronation. Let's do a six-man ladder match for both belts! I'm not sane. The other two guys in the match were the recently returned Remmy Skye and Jonnie Perez, as Frankie would want his brother somehow involved in his last match here.

Fernandes won both belts. He's already defended the COTT title once -- against Axxis Jr in OLLIE -- and he'll do it again at Uprising against MAW's Miller Fforde, who won the Rip Chord Invitational. After the show, both Cougar and Frankie were given a proper sendoff. We also decided that at this year's Welcome..., Snap Dragon will enter the CZCW Hall of Fame.

Meanwhile, Lilly and Rose are starting to settle back in for their second tag team title reign. Their first one was cut short when Lilly was injured. Going Coastal won a tournament for the right to face them for the vacant titles when Lilly returned, but the ladies won the title match.

Newcomer JOJI took the Xtreme title off of Bullseye in December. I haven't decided what his gimmick match is going to be. (Bullseye's was cages.) Another interesting addition is Davis Wayne Newton, who's with us full-time now after FCW's closure. ACPW's in the COTT now.

  11. The first thing I do is determine my main event and two main angles. One of them will advance a major storyline; the other usually sets up that show's main event. These are the three segments everything revolves around.

Then I look at my storylines and title programs and see what needs emphasizing. Give the tag or midcard champs a defense, hold a contendership match, a confrontation backstage, whatever I didn't do on the last show. This is where I determine what I'm opening the main show with, be it one of these matches (in a less storyline-driven product) or one of the big angles.

Then I check to see which of the top guys still aren't booked. They get angles/promos or a short match against a low carder. Maybe two of them get into an argument and they fight later that night or next week. (I do a lot of rearranging of these last two categories as I book the show.)

That tends to knock out most of a show. I'll fill in the rest with things like hype videos, adjusting match and segment lengths, or even a throwaway midcard match if there's a lot of time left.

  14. Just a quick question. Will AI controlled companies in TEW 2020 ever reactivate retired titles? Is that a thing?

I'm playing a historical mod and was going to add in some championships that come up later in history, but set them as retired so that WWE didn't have about 25 active belts at the start (for example). I'm just wondering, if I do that, will WWE ever reactivate them or are they doomed to be retired forever?

I have seen this happen, but I don't know how or why it happened. It may simply be random.

  15. Interesting project.
