  1. Just logged in and saw the OLLIE work. Promptly saved over the stuff in the default folder. A thousand thanks.
  2. So, I come here, just taking a look back through since I don't scroll the forums regularly, and I get to that 5SSW logo. JFC dude. That thing is unreal. I mean, none of your work is garbage, but that thing is off the page. Same with the DCG logo. You have talent, and if you're not pursuing it beyond these forums, I would respectfully suggest you're doing it wrong. Amazing, amazing work. Edit - If possible, a master download link of your work would be greatly appreciated. Or maybe download links for the individual companies? Something to make lazy people's lives easier lol. Edit 2 - And if you're still doing requests, give OLLIE's default belts some love, would ya? It's been forever, and they really need it.
  3. Maybe not elite level guys, but potentially elite level guys. The guys who could rule the 80s with the right rolls, but otherwise are just king of the midcard at best. I'm a bit of a slave to canon, so I'm always hesitant to add elite level guys. Side note - I stand by what I said. Great work on the database sir. I love how you retconned a lot of the craziness from the original in this one while still keeping everyone around. No wild surprises.
  4. The title says it all really. I can't be the one to do it though, for a wide range of reasons. Surely though, one amongst you will bridge the gap between That 70's Mod and CV97 and do a mid 80's mod? Please? For an 15 year CVerse lore addict? I know those other 2 mods aren't technically canon, but they are to me dammit!
  5. Random Question. Just started up this database as, like yourself, I'm a longtime fan of this mod. Was getting ready to do my usual save, starting up my own created company that I've been using since TEW08, the International Pro Wrestling Alliance. I've been using this for so long I even had Kamchatka (spelling? sorry bro if you read this. Love your work) make me a logo back in 08 or 10 and had Reaper make me belts for it as well. When I went to pick the logo, however, it wasn't the blue, black, and grey number Kam did for me all those years ago. It's this awesome black, red, and grey logo that I've never seen before. I was just wondering what it's story is? Where did you find it? Who made it? Is it a remake of my old request or purely a coincidence (totally possible. IPWA is a pretty cliched name when you think about it). Like I said, I know, random question. Just curious is all. Mod look's good so far. Always a bit nervous to see a beloved classic get remade but it looks good so far, tweaks/additions included.
  6. Mod - Cverse '97 by Derek B My hiring and booking style heavily favours the ultra-talented, all-around performers. I've said, talking with friends, that if I could have 3 or 4 guys like Flair/Angle/Jericho, it doesn't really matter who else I've got. Company - HGC (renamed TCW, because the original name is awful) Currently start of March 98, about to start the build for the main matches for TM2 in May. The 3 big matches are Nemesis (c) vs Sean McFly for the World title, Steve Flash vs Eric Tyler, and, for the final time EVER, Rip Chord vs Sam Strong. (I know I said I'm a sucker for talent, but drawing money is important too) Also getting ready to put the tag belts on the Vesseys for the first time. Larry, sadly, is past his prime so it will be their only run with the belts, but it will complete my goal of giving each of the 4 legendary teams TCW/HGC start with a run with them. The plan is to have them drop the belts in the fall, so I have time to have one turn on the other and Larry put Bryan over before his contract expires at the end of the year. The two ancient legends, Rip and Sam, are under contract until the end of 99, so they are going to spend the rest of their days doing a long, slow job to the next generation, which includes Dan Stone Jr, a reformed The Hype, Vengeance, and Jack Bruce, just to name a few. I feel like Sam may make an issue of this, but Dread's PGHW contract expires in June, and I have extremely deep pockets. I hired more or less everyone from the indie scene that has any amount of promise. I have around 110 wrestlers under contract currently, between main roster and developmental. In my defense of this, I'm trying to make a Junior division to compete with Burning Hammer's, and I have a healthy tag team division, and I don't really believe in tag team guys wrestling singles matches.
  7. I will bestow upon you the highest praise I know how to. The only person who's belts I would use other than Reaper's are yours. Amazing work just doesn't cut it. Legendary.
  8. Excellent work. I know it's not accurate for the time, game mechanics wise, but setting up the loyalty for everyone would be nice. Would be nice to not be able to go to Japan and win that battle with my chequebook in 2-3 years.
  9. Yeah, 15 years. I've been playing this franchise that long. Ever since the day I decided to randomly see what the guy who made EWR was up to, if he had made anything since. The dev diary for TEW 2008 was under way. I still bought 2007 though. I quickly fell in love with the Cverse. I'm a sucker for some well written lore anyway, and the fact it was about wrestling made it even better. I would have argued with you until the last few years that the CVerse was more interesting than real life. Anyway, the true purpose of this post. Currently playing the recently released 2007 cverse mod for the glorious nostalgia of the time period and I noticed something I hadn't before. Even went and double-checked the default database to make sure God said this was the way it really happened. Jeremy Stone and Dan Jr. never defeated each other for the Canadian Title. They probably wrestled each other dozens of times (bios have confirmed this in previous versions), headlined many shows, several of them likely for that belt, but they never exchanged it. Bizarre. It would be like Cena and Orton having never traded the belt, despite them wrestling each other as many times as they did. Just struck me as really odd, considering the circumstances. Anyone else have any C-Verse tid-bits they'd like to share? Something crazy that I, or the rest of the class, might have missed over the last 15 years?
  10. I, for one, am pulling for this one. This era holds a special place for me. I didn't have a whole lot of wrestling on tape when I was a kid, but one I did have was a homemade tape with Royal Rumble 1990 AND Wrestlemania 6 on it. Needless to say, I wore that tape out.
  11. Are you even allowed to name your favorite child in public? I got into this genre of gaming because of EWR, so that's holds a very special place for me (Ryland Is God). TEW07-20, WMMA1-5, WreSpi2, FM, OOTP, etc. Never really met a sports sim I didn't like. As long as the level of detail is high and the layout isn't a nightmare, I'm in.
  12. I'd like to see Adam and the team "remaster" one (or more) of the old Cverse databases for use with TEW2020. Or maybe fill in the gap in between the '77 and '97 mods that are out there and release a mid 80s database. I'd even pay a few bucks for it. Just a thought.
  13. Hey peeps. Running a storyline and I need to run a gauntlet match as part of the tale and it doesn't exist as an option. I've been over the editor twice and I see no readily apparent way to run a Gauntlet match. To clarify, when I say gauntlet match, I mean a match where 2 guys start and wrestle until there is a fall. The loser leaves, the winner continues against a fresh opponent. This continues until there are no participants left, or the talent being messed with loses. So, did I miss something, or is this something I'm going to have to do some other way? I was thinking of a handicap match with timed entrances and total elimination, but that's not quite right. I'd rather not book multiple matches either, but will if that's my only option.
  14. I'm writing this post more for the folks who, like me, have been with this franchise for the long haul (since 07 for me), and who are also huge fans of the CornellVerse. Looking at the 2020 data, and looking back at, say, 2010, are there things that absolutely blow your mind? Like, how Findlay is the best big man in the business? I remember when his bio included a hilarious bit about Rip Chord and the internet. Or the guys from The Quest. If you told me, a guy who only does perf>pop, that I would hire Super Sonic one day, I wouldn't have just laughed. I would have laughed AND pointed while I did it. But it happened just now in my Japanese campaign. Madness in every direction. Anything else anyone just totally blown away by?
  15. Excellent work Sir, as I've come to expect over the years. Excited to see what this potential project you hinted at may be. Praying for someone to bridge the gap between this and the 70s mod and give the world the 80s Cverse mod that it so richly deserves.
