1. For all different tastes, I guess. I've always enjoyed Jarrett (from his time with Owen in WWE) to WCW, to TNA. I despise Hardy, and don't see his appeal. And over/talented is obviously subjective. Bryan Danielson can't be put in a main event match at a big PPV right now for WWE (no matter how talented he is). Send him to TNA or ROH, andhe could certainly main event.
2. Same could be said about Hardy or any number of other workers. But given where they were at (TNA), he was big enough there. Should he headline WM? No. Should he headline Bound For Glory? Absolutely.
3. I actually enjoyed what I saw of it (only through PPV DVDs). I still remember when he fought Rhyno (not sure if it was when he won the belt or not), Jarrett is set up to be hit by the gore. The crowd is going nuts, and at the last minute, Jarrett busts out the guitar and breaks it over Rhyno's head. Crowd totally deflated, lots of booing. And what does Jarrett do? He starts mocking them! I found that to be hilarious.
4. And I'm sure a lot of people won't watch WWE BECAUSE it's WWE. That's fine too.
5. Not that there's anything wrong with that really. It's up to either company to pay them what they're asking for. Can't fault them for asking.
6. Jets have shown real interest in Tomlinson...I still say he should go to NE.
7. Tomlinson in talks with the Vikings. That'd be interesting. Though I'd prefer if he went to New England.
8. And also the fact that Guerrero and Angle had loads more charisma than Benoit. He would have been fine as an Upper Mid who got the occasional title shot. But a top guy he was not. Maybe in ROH or a smaller outfit.
9. Dreamer & Sabu should NEVER be mentioned as people who Vince should have pushed heavily. They are not top talents. Certainly useful as pieces of the roster, but not someone that should be headlining WWE. And Benoit, well, never really liked him from a superstar standpoint (by that meaning the complete package). He was BORING on the mic, and pretty small. Not top belt material in WWE.
10. Not sure I agree with your assessment Self. I can definitely see where you're coming from though. But I know several people who LOVE any and all Law & Orders. But they'll only watch CSI:Miami (or won't watch CSI). I for example, can take or leave Seinfeld. I watched it when it was on, but I wasn't crazy about it. Curb Your Enthusiasm did absolutely nothing for me except make me want to turn it off. More on point, if ROH was on mainstream TV, not sure I'd watch that, even if I did watch TNA or WWE. Partially because there are other things to do, and partially because I don't feel the production values would be very good.
11. Did anyone object when Snoop Dogg was the guest host and he was "smoking" with Cryme Tyme or whoever? That kind of thing add 0 to the show.
12. Have to remember that even getting half of what WWE was getting, they were still the highest rated show on TNT (at least Nitro was). Kellner made a deal somewhere where HE personally benefitted. The video library alone was worth well over $3-5 million.
13. I'm sure she'll be back after her Apprentice stint. As for Burchill? Never saw his work. In the old days though, the ones getting canned would be the "creative" team. If your job is to find things for these people to do, and you can't do that...how is that their fault.
14.
May 14th, Dixie Carter will be in Monroe, NJ answering fan questions (probably close to 2 hours I'm guessing) in a YouShoot event.

KayfabeCommentaries.com for more details.

Here's the link:

http://www.kayfabecommentaries.com/YS_LIVE_Site_Page.html

15. Didn't know The Lightning Thief was a book. I thought it was just a movie with a ridiculously long title.
16. Well, it was the 1 hour Daniel Bryan showcase. And I'd think that A LOT of the WWE fans would have very limited knowledge of who he was.
17. Hilarious recap of NXT. http://www.fanhouse.com/2010/02/24/wwe-nxt-report-2-23-10/
18. Except most writers are pretty dumb (or petty). For example, I don't believe DiMaggio was a first ballot HOFer. And many writers won't vote for someone to be first ballot BECAUSE "X player wasn't a first ballot HOFer." This was said by one of the voters in an interview last year. It's sort of like saying "Well, we made a mistake all these years ago...we'll keep making it!" Also, the same applies to being a unanimous selection. Don't have the numbers on that, but I'm sure it's not that many. And again, as told by people who vote, there's a small group of voters that won't vote for someone (even if they deserve to go in or they normally would vote for them) simply so that they're not a unanimous selection.
19. Or like an indy show that Cornette, where every match ended on a random move. Something like: Finisher > Kick Out > Other wrestler's finisher > Kick Out > Schoolboy Roll up. That'd be interesting as hell to see on a show.
20. I know they fired someone in Smackdown a few years ago over a leak. They thought it was him, so they gave him (and only him) some bogus information. When that information was published, they knew he was the leak.
21. Hyde, what you mention in the second part of the post is how I believe he explained it. He did clarify (and I probably should have as well) by giving the example that if you're pushing wrestler A as a face, and he's getting crapped on; but wrestler B is getting cheered, you should push wrestler B (even if it wasn't your original intention) because the fans aren't buying into wrestler A. So what you said about booking for marks is what he meant it seems.
22. I think what he meant was that WCW was BIGGER even its dying days. And on the whole OJ thing, to paraphrase the late great Gary Hart: You push who the people want to see, not who you want to push. I personally don't see the point of that segment, even more if it becomes a storyline. But whatever.
23. I'm surprised people aren't blaming Russo for that OTT storyline.
24. Arrest warrant issued for Jericho (Failure to show up at his hearing for the public intoxication charges from a few weeks back). http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100216/SPT/302160040/Report++Warrant+issued+for+WWE+star EDIT: He apparently called in, pled guilty and paid his fine as well: http://www.local12.com/news/local/story/WWE-Wrestlers-Plead-Guilty-Pay-Fine/FtUyEMivQkOLQ9eCR4qG2w.cspx
25. I do think it's ridiculous that people chant the name of the promotion when someone does something cool/dangerous. How about chanting the name of the person? And thom...a lot of the people back then weren't "talented" as far as in ring. Because they don't need to be. A gimmick can take you pretty far. Also, the style they work nowadays is completely different than before (more toned down), so unless someone worked on both, it can't be said that they wouldn't have been successful (and chances are, if they have worked both, they've been around long enough to be considered successful). Not sure why ECW is held in such high esteem either (as for wrestling or fans), but different strokes. What has Morgan done lately? I haven't really been following, but I remember he was getting a push. Anything come of it?
