  1. I think if Genadi and certain mod makers are thinking of leaving there are CLEARLY issues with this game. Honestly, I’d be happy with delaying this game until 2021 if it means a better product.

  3. Very disappointed with this status update. I may be further persuaded to stick with 16.

When I play AEW I feel like the AI is way overpowered playing NXT.</p>
  5. This is the roughest release ever. I think he started doing the release stuff since 2007 (I've been playing since 6500, whatever the one that was done in 1998 was) and this is by far the roughest one ever.
  6. I would love to hear from Adam on whether there are ANY UX or QOL changes being made. I know he said a complete overhaul would not be possible but does that mean that the look can't be changed? Does it mean nothing can be changed? I look forward to clarification.
  7. 100%. This might be the single worst change. For a game that was about "less clicking" who could possibly think that this could be that?
  8. Man, after playing this game for a few days, there are so many things I like about this game. -Perception is a great idea. It may need a little tweaking but I think it makes more sense than the old push system. -Contract negotiations are better. -Talking to workers is such a good edition. -The AI is vastly improved and the game feels so much more alive. That said, these additions are nearly ruined by the UI/UX. We were sold the idea that there would be less clicks. Does anyone feel that is the case? Why do I have to click 700 times to move a segment from the top of a card to the bottom? Why change the old system of doing that? As someone who works in advertising and has to run websites, apps, and other ideas through UX multiple times, I'd be shocked if Adam actually hired someone to work on UX. Not only does it seem to be not a concern from this team, but there are changes to previous UX ideas that are actively worse. I want to love this game but it is SO SO hard with this UX.
  9. I'm finding issues playing as AEW. Most of the roster has such low popularity it seems almost impossible to make TNT happy. Shows seem to top out at 40 or so (you can get good (52) main events out of guys like Moxley and PAC but that's about it). Was this a similar problem on 2016 or was it not because of the new "keeping the network happy" feature?
  10. Is there a reason you can't lock on a segment when moving it up or down? I hate having to click up and then go up to the next line to continue moving it.
  11. I agree with Genadi. The UI is a dealbreaker for me as well. It's just not fun to play. Adam promised a game that was more intuitive and less clicks. This is...not that.
  12. <p>Super excited to play this! </p><p> </p><p> The TEW 2016 version isn't jiving well so far, playing with AEW doesn't feel like its AEW.</p>
  13. What were the negative posts? Was it just people saying they didn't like things? Is that not allowed?
  14. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Chikbot" data-cite="Chikbot" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47578" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Yeah "Vocal Minority", my ass.<p> Thought that was kind of funny. But hey, that just will show with less sales if he keeps it</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I’ve been playing since the Turbo Pascal days and this is the first one I won’t buy until I see serious UI/UX improvements.</p>
  15. According to Adam, the new interface isn’t a problem, it’s just a “vocal minority” of users who dislike it. I’d say it’s about 80% of this board.
  16. My wish list for 2020 was: -More immersive integration for historical mods -Better AI We're getting all of that it seems.
  17. I absolutely love the idea that information will spread quicker in the modern era than in the 70s or 80s. I really appreciate the attention to detail for historical mods as I'm guessing many of us play them. Seeing the game world change as time goes on is going to be so much fun.
  18. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Adam Ryland" data-cite="Adam Ryland" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>1 - This was covered in the journal; if you're taping ahead then your ratings will go down, therefore you're broadcast revenue is lowered because less people are watching and revenue is linked directly to viewership.<p> </p><p> 2 - Yes.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I think this is a good game mechanic because it balances opportunity and cost but to be fair, in the 1990s taped shows were not lower rated (Nielsen wise) than their live counterparts. Meltzer goes over this a ton.</p><p> </p><p> That said I LOVE today's entry. The block taping is amazing, as I can now simulate NXT or 1990s WWF. My big question would be, if I have a block taping (each an hour) and I book Bret Hart on one show, Undertaker on another, Shawn Michaels on a third, will they insist on being on every show? During the 80s and 90s, you generally only saw the top guys once a month to keep them from getting overexposed. Will this be replicated in block tapings?</p>
  19. <p>I actually think this is bigger than the perception update. It's great.</p><p> </p><p> I HATED seeing website stuff when I played an 80s mod. I just broke the connection for me.</p><p> </p><p> This is huge and great and I love it.</p>
  20. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TeemuFoundation" data-cite="TeemuFoundation" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>This is a bit offtopic, but here's the thing, though. Wrestling isn't that simple. Sometimes, it can be really hard to decipher what the people really want. For nearly a decade now (I'd say it really started to be noticeable in 2011, especially post-pipebomb) there's been a huge disparity between the reactions for wrestlers in the arenas, and TV ratings and buyrates, merch, etc. Going by crowd reactions alone, one could be under the illusion that CM Punk was over. <strong>Yet, he turned away viewers!</strong> People who were watching RAW would regularly tune out when a Punk segment came on. This is documented. But when the WWE doesn't push guys like CM Punk, the hardcore portion of the fans get angry because they don't understand "Why the WWE just isn't giving us what we want?"<p> </p><p> Because it's not that simple. The difference between a hardcore fan and a casual fan is quite immense. And so is the difference between what these two groups of fans actually want. Roman Reigns, for instance, has been a top merch seller during his time on top. But the TV and PPV crowd reactions could easily fool you into thinking everyone hates him. They don't. It's just only certain types of fans (a small snapshot of the entire fanbase) attend the live shows.</p><p> </p><p> All this is why I'd like popularity/how <em>well known</em> someone is, and actual <em>overness</em> being separate in a TEW game. Overness as in the ability to actually draw money and new viewers. Pleasing your existing fanbase is only a part of it; you need to get more fans for your product.</p><p> </p><p> All in all, I think the new feature sounds like a big improvement over what TEW 2016 has, and I'm hyped. But I've always had my problems with the "popularity" rating in all the TEW games. Mind you, it's nothing that I can't live with it, and accept for gameplay reasons in an otherwise excellent and super fun game.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You're so wrong about the CM Punk stuff yet you keep pushing that narrative.</p>
