1. I didn't even read this before I posted. But yes, I agree with it.
 2. You know what I would love to see factored into contracts and personality? Personal wealth. Remember how in WresSpi you had expenses and could spend it on things? The idea would be the same for wrestlers in TEW. For instance, if CM Punk has millions and millions of dollars and he's pissed at Vince, he may not go back anytime soon. But if CM Punk is pissed and Vince and he's broke, he may soften his stance because of the realities of his financial situation. It could provide motives for contracts. Will Daniel Bryan accept less money because he just loves to wrestle and wants to work against certain opponents? Kevin Nash would work for anyone, just make sure you meet his demands. I'd love the wrestlers to act more like real humans with POVs and needs.
 3.

Here is the issue i see with this : It would great for historical mods since wrestling worked much more like the UFC, where the main event drew the house.

Today though, the card is secondary to the brand. All in sold out without a single match being announced. Raw and Smackdown almost never announce matches ahead of time. Nevermind house shows.

It used to be Bruno vs Stan the Man with hardly a mention of the promotion (watch championship weestling from the 70s and early 80s... WWF rarely is mentioned). Today it's WWE Presents... and the players are interchangeable.

Before I post this, I agree with you. HOWEVER, playing Devil's Advocate, you could argue that current WWE is this:

A bunch of main event level guys at 80. The only one who isn't is Roman, who has a max pop of 83 but Vince is trying to get him over with brute force. By putting everything on Roman, all the other performers have suffered. Thus he's got Brock at at 88, Cena at 90 and Rock at 95. Those are the only ones who will pop anything.

So the problem isn't, there are no stars, the problem is everyones at virtually the same level (Daniel Bryan 79, AJ Styles 79, Seth Rollins 80, Dean Ambrose 79, Samoa Joe 78, Braun Strowman 79) and no one has been allowed to go any higher.

And depth of play CAN be more interesting if it either parallels the rest of the game’s premise or expands a player’s opportunity for immersion.

Howver, realism sine qua non is not inherently fun, especially in situations where it goes at an angle to the game’s primary challenge, and it frequently increases tedium and frustration.

I don’t think you’re wrong about your conclusion that finances are the key to most of wrestling’s history, but I think you’re starting from a failed premise - it doesn’t need to be “more realistic”, it simply needs to lead to more strategic opportunities or challenges. THAT is something that probably can be done without correspondingly increasing the tedium. Perhaps by increasing money sinks, or by adding taxes based on roster size. (Not to armchair design, there’s a lot of ways I’m probably not thinking of).

I agree with virtually every post Peter has written and I think you're missing the point.

Immersion is important. Me feeling like I'm actually an owner is important.

If I'm in a bidding war with WCW or AEW and I'm trying to sign Steve Austin or the The Rock, my immersion is broken when the minimum I can offer them is a 1.5 million dollar downside. Austin or Rock will generate me hundreds of millions of dollars and they know that. Their agent will know that.

The fact that there's a 1.5 limit breaks my immersion. I makes me remember that it's all 1s and 0s. It takes me out of the game. THAT is way it's important.

 5.
The Ticket Pricing is great. Do I want to try to sellout the Hoosier Dome or Alamo Dome by throwing a bunch of $5 tickets out or do I want to make bank at Madison Square Garden?

I like that it's not too complicated (messing around with dollars and cents) and focuses on an overarching strategy instead.

 6.

The game doesn't simulate historical finances. Adam has said before the game is not a historical simulator. It would be literally impossible for a mod maker to create a mod that has historically accurate finances.

I mean, yeah he has. But that doesn't change the fact that a lot of this community loves playing historical mods.

And in fairness to Adam, he has made strides, both in 2016 and in 2020 to make it easier for historical mods. The new schedule options are a step in the right direction for simulating different eras. I would imagine by including an algorithm to simulate inflation that you could possibly recreate historical scenarios.

And the finances aren't just a mess historically, they're messed up in modern day. I think the max contract you can offer is like 1.3 million dollars a year, which is ridiculous. Dean Ambrose was just offered a 1 million DOWNSIDE contract and when you factor in Steve Austin making 16-17 million in the 1990s, the financial aspect of the game is due for an overhaul.

It seems like Adam will add it based on the house show and merchandise revamps, and I think that's great.

 7.

I wouldn’t necessarily want to book a house show. Maybe special house shows but that is already doable in the game. For a normal house show loop, I wouldn’t mind selecting a group of workers who are scheduled to appear. Somewhat similar to EWR auto booker where you would select which workers will be on the show. The ability to select groups for different loops would be nice also. The ability to test out things like gimmicks, match ups and teams, selecting who will be on the loop and which loop would be a nice optional feauture for people who want to micromanage. Similar to having merchandise on auto or having the ability to micromanage it.

This. WWE, for example, runs the same show for a month or two. For instance, in 1994 on the WrestleMania Revenge Tour the main event was always Bret Hart beating Owen Hart.

 8.
The new house show option sounds great. A few things this allows us to do that immediately come to mind:

-Simulate annual tours (WWE's November and April European tours)

-Simulated the burden that workers go through on the house show grind (CM Punk during his last WWE title reign)

I'm excited to see if we can set headline feuds for the house shows and see how well they draw. I remember a few years ago Dean Ambrose was drawing better on the WWE B-Show loop than Roman was on the A-Shows and it was a big deal. It might be nice to compare and contrast how certain storylines are doing on the road.

 9. I love the "Talk to Worker" entry. I'm a big fan of the 80s or 90s RW mods and this will make those so much more enjoyable. For example: It's always been difficult dealing with Shawn Michaels in a 1990s mods and simulating his relationship to Vince McMahon. Shawn was a dick to everyone but he and Vince had mutual respect that's hard to have in the game as is (if you're playing as a User Character). Now, you could sit Shawn down and talk to him of the pill issue. You can maybe form more of a relationship outside of the punishment system.
 10.

Yes, exactly. B shows are designed to benefit low-level/young workers with exposure and in-ring time. No-one worries if they're not on B shows.

Excellent. Thank you James, this has been very helpful.

The mod is actually beautifully setup where the B-shows are on all the local channels, so it's essentially mirroring syndication.

Do I even have to worry about not having an A show at this point? Should I just keep an eye on JCP once they start nipping at our heels?

 11. Okay, so another question on this. I started playing on the Golden Age mod and as WWF you start with two B shows. Since performers only complain about not being on PPVs and A shows, is this a way to keep Hogan from getting upset not being on TV? Could I actually just run squash matches on these shows without fear of losing popularity/pissing off main eventers, assuming I put Hogan, Savage and the lot on PPVs?
 12.

WrestleMania began in '85
Survivor Series in '87

SummerSlam in '88

Royal Rumble (as a PPV) began in '89, although it was a TV special the year before

So, depending on where you begin you have 0-4 PPVs to work around. The company used Saturday Night's Main Event as a setup for WrestleMania (Hogan/Andre in 1988, Megapowers in 1989) most famously, but also as a blow-off for feuds.

Mid-80s WWF was a largely National company, at best - it wasn't until 1989 or so that they got any sort of exposure in the UK/Europe. You can get by with booking A shows of short squash matches capped with a decent main event and never have to worry about losing popularity.

You'd be fine to book around the Big Four PPVs with maybe an SNME midway between each show to help build towards those shows. Use video angles, interviews, tag matches and beatdowns to promote feuds, but bear in mind you have 3 months between the big shows, so you don't need to have a feud for every worker running from day 1 - feed them in slowly, but try and keep momentum up for workers you want to be feuding. Lots of squashing the local talent in dominant performances.

Oh, and spam Hogan. I may not ever have been a fan, but Hogan in WWF in mid 80s was ridiculous; Everything he touched turned to gold, as far as fans were concerned.

Thank you, that does help.

But with the spamming Hogan stuff. As far as I remember, Hogan almost never wrestled on Prime Time Wrestling. Would using video packages/interviews be the best use? Or would it even be better to use a Japanese style touring setup to simulate the whole "syndicated shows showing our house shows" style that they had back then?

One of the things I would LOVE for the next TEW would be a way to truly do different eras of wrestling, more in depth than what we have now. As TEW is mostly set up as a prime time cable like simulator.

 13. Hi all, I mostly like to play real world historical mods in TEW. My question is this: What would be the best way to run an 80s WWF style promotion? Hardly any ppvs, tv shows without top stars and most of the money made from house shows. How would I do that?
 14. Interesting thing happened. I'm playing COTT as WWF and it's October 1995, WCW grew to international size on Friday and ran Halloween Havoc on Sunday. At the bottom of the news items I see "The Death of WCW? Ratings are in a tailspin and many main eventers could be departing soon." What the **** happened? They just grew, I don't think I missed any bad news for them. As I'm writing this I realized I beat them in the National Battle this month but does that mean that they're "going out of business"?
 15. Can star quality decline over time? Can it increase? Are there people out there with "hidden" star quality? I ask as I'm playing COTT 1994 as WWF and it's a bit depressing that everyone with star quality is locked up. I like the idea of "finding" someone like WWF did with Austin. Also I'm curious when Savage, Hogan and his ilk will decline in star quality. Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks!
 16. Is there any way to improve relationships between the User and a wrestler?
 17. Just started a new game in DOTT. I'm still getting a feel for the new game. WWF is starting to expand nationally. As MACW, I'd like to match Vince. How can I add local stations to World Wide Wrestling? I'm clicking on the stations that are Willing To Negotiate but I don't see any options.
