  1. Is there an advantage in the game to signing former wrestlers and such who have mic skills and charisma and pairing them with high wrestling ability guys who are maybe lacking in the mic and charisma areas? Just wondering if this will help build those guys as stars better or faster. Obviously this is done in real world wrestling, just didn’t know if that translated to the game as well.
  2. I am looking for guys to partner with Andrews at times, so I’ll keep that in mind about One Man Army. I’m mostly just thinking long term and when I do take the belt off Andrews who do I have to challenge a heel champion other than Andrews. Turning Taylor may make sense and I’ve laid the groundwork almost inadvertently already with him going on a losing streak and it driving him crazy. End result could be the face turn to rebuild momentum. Mighty Mo got hurt on my first show and has been sidelined. But he’s back now so I’ll start looking at that too. Thanks.
  3. There’s a lot to go through in this thread, but I’m new to the game and using TCW. Who do you all use as top tier faces outside of Andrews? I know there is Bach, but he’s older and the game seems to be pointing towards him declining right now. It feels like the next level after Andrews are all heel...Chord, Wolf, Huggins, Gauge... Do you all turn one of them face? I am trying to build T-Bone and plan to give him the TV Title when I want to bump Gauge up a tier. Just feels like I need at least one more guy at the top besides Andrews and a declining Bach.
  4. I have officially made it to July 2023 of my UFC game, the longest real world game I think I have done before. Will just give an update on my different divisions: Heavyweight: My Heavyweight champion is currently Tai Tuivasa who just recently beat Derrick Lewis for the title. Lewis was on his second title run after beating Jon Jones to get the title back again. Jones has won again since losing the title and is getting another shot at the title against Tuivasa next. Francis Ngannou was off for a year because of a sex scandal :-0, but is back now and will soon be fighting for the title again, he was the champion prior to Jones beating him. Ciryl Gane, Ruslan Magomedov and Juan Adams are all guys on the brink of breaking through to that top tier. Light Heavyweight: The title here changed hands every time there was a match from Oezdemir to Shogun to Cutelaba, now Domenick Reyes has won the title and seems to have a firm grip defending three times now and turning into a big star for me. Problem is finding contenders for him which are few and far between right now. Corey Anderson and Ion Cutelaba were my next in line guys, but both lost in upsets. I may need to go to Cory Hendricks for the next title shot as he is 5 – 1 in his last six fights and beat Cutelaba. The other option is Thiago Santos, though he has a fight booked and Reyes is healthy and waiting for a fight so Santos may have to wait. Ryan Spann is probably the second best light heavyweight I have, but he just lost his first title shot to Reyes. Middleweight: The champ is currently Israel Adesanya. Paulo Costa had a pretty good run with the title after beat Adesanya in 2020, but eventually lost to Rafael Lovato Jr. who lost his first defense to Adesanya. Since then Adesanya has beaten Costa in a rematch and Robert Whittaker who was on quite a run. Chris Weidman is on a run so he may be next in line for a title shot though he has no chance of winning. Kelvin Gastelum was also on a run but popped for PED’s ironically. I have some young guys on the brink like Brendan Allen and Edmen Shahbazyan as well as some new signings, particularly Georgy Kichigin from Russia who seems to be quite a killer in this game and Kyle Dauskas who has already racked up two quick finishes. Welterweight: Current champion of this division is Randy Brown who has turned into a real monster. Brown won the title off of Warlley Alves who won a big upset against Robbie Lawler after Lawler took the belt from Usman. Brown has defended the title against Lawler and Santiago Ponzinibbio so far, both super lopsided wins for Brown. He’s now set to face off with Usman while I try and build up more contenders in what has become a division with good prospects, but not many star powered guys. Michel Pereira will hopefully win his fifth fight in a row on the Brown/Usman card to earn his own title shot. Super Lightweight: The division was started roughly a year and a half ago and Vicente Luque won the title against Justin Gaethje, and has defended twice against Kevin Lee and Michael Chandler. He’s now got a fight lined up with Albert Tumenov and waiting in the wings after that is Khabib who was slumping for a while, but has won three straight in this division now and just won a rematch with Gaethje. Nate Diaz just joined the division and won his first match with Michael Chiesa and I’m hoping I can get him another win soon to push him into a title fight. Building up guys like Jalin Turner, Devonte Smith, Marc Diakiese and Christian Lee who have all been really good, but not quite title contender level yet. Lightweight: The title has bounced around here a lot too going Khabib-Gathje-Conor-Gillespie-Cerrone-Conor and now Renato Carneiro has beaten Conor to take the title. Conor is the only one to successfully defend the title since I started. Gregor Gillespie is likely to get the next crack at the title just because he’s on a three fight win streak and there aren’t other great options because they all keeping beating each other so no one gets a good win streak going. There are some good prospects I’ve grabbed from Europe, mainly Russia, who are pushing to get into the mix which will be nice. I’ve also moved Alex Volkanovski up a weight class to try and rejuvenate his career. Featherweight: Current champion is A.J. McKee in another division that has seen the title bounce around a lot. The title lineage has been Volkanovski-Kattar-Bektic-Zabit-McKee. We’ve now seen McKee defend his title against Mirsad Bektic and Yair Rodriguez successfully in pretty dominant fashion. Max Holloway has just come back from a really long hiatus and pulled off a massive upset beating Zabit on a card that we ran in Hawaii. Holloway is coaching TUF right now with Yair and then they’ll fight with Max getting a shot with a win. Meanwhile Shane Burgos is on a great run, Yusuf Raisov is emerging as a force and Pitbull is lurking. Jose Aldo has also just asked to move up to Featherweight again after a missed weight cut. Bantamweight: This is my favorite division right now. Currently T.J. Dillashaw is the champion for the second time since I started this game, beating Jose Aldo for a title that Petr Yan vacated by taking an unexpected hiatus. Dillashaw is now going to face Garbrandt in what might be my biggest PPV sales card ever because they’re two of my most biggest draws by far. I also have Sean O’Malley and Marlon Moraes going head to head to be number on contender, Ray Borg has rejuvenated his career at BW and been a monster. Brett Johns and Thomas Almeida are also two guys a win or two away from a title shot and I just brought back Sergio Pettis and Demetrius Johnson who are both main event draws for me. I also have a lot of fun guys about to break into the top 5 like Movsar Evloev, Rustam Kerimov, and Raufeon Stots. Flyweight: My longest reigning champion in the game has been Joseph Benavidez who just lost the title on his seventh defense of it against Manel Kape. Benavidez retired after the match as well. It’s been very disappointing how bad Figuerido is in this game. I have a lot of contenders such as Jarred Brooks, Alex Perez, Brandon Royval, Jose Torres and Kai-Kara France. The number one contender though is Naoki Inoue who is undefeated since coming back to the UFC. Brooks or Royval are probably next in line for the winner of that, but I can see Kape keeping the title for a while. Women’s Featherweight: I normally scrap this division cause it’s so hard to find contenders, but I’ve kept it going this time. Amanda Nunes is still champ and is running out of contenders who she hasn’t beaten at least once. Zarah Dos Santos was the most recent victim to take the L against Nunes. Her next fight will likely be a rematch with Ketlen Vieira or a match with Leah Letson if she can win her next fight. The only real threats I can see are Vieira or Macy Chiasson who did recently almost beat Nunes. I’m doing a TUF show with women’s featherweights now to try and get more fighters in the division, but I had to pull from other divisions to make a cast. Women’s Bantamweight: Aspen Ladd beat Nunes for the title, but then suffered an injury that put her out for a year training for her next fight. Sarah Moras became the interim champion somehow, though promptly lost it to Valentina Shevchenko who had moved up after losing the Flyweight belt. Shevchenko won a couple fights waiting for Ladd, but ended up losing the title unification bout against Ladd. Liana Jouja has earned the next shot surprisingly and Sabina Mazo is waiting in the wings with a 7 – 1 record in the UFC. Ultimately we’re just biding time until Ladd rematches either Nunes or Shevchenko though which will be a massive either way. Women’s Flyweight: Montana De La Rosa is taking this division by storm. De La Rosa best Shevchenko for the title, beat her in an immediate rematch and since then has taken out Maycee Barber and Joanna Jedrzecjzyk. De La Rosa is now set to face off with Gillian Robertson as De La Rosa is the only one to beat her in the last three years and Robertson currently is on a five fight win streak. Ultimately it feels like Barber is on a collision course to get another shot and the first De La Rosa vs. Barber match was a fight of the year candidate. Ariane Lipski and Mackenzie Dern are both hovering around title contention and Claudia Gadelha also just moved up a class. Women’s Strawweight: Rose Namajunas owned this division for three years, winning the title and defending it six times before just recently losing her belt in a shocking upset to Livia Renata Souza. The first title defense for Souza will be against Jessica Andrade who 18 months ago seemed to be shot, but has now reeled three big wins in a row over quality competition. Namajunas is out for about six months right now opening the door for other top contenders Istela Nunes and Paige Van Zant to step up. Other recent signees in Herica Tiburcio, Karine Silva and Svetlana Gotsyk are all making waves as well now.
  5. I’m in the Spring of 2022 in a UFC mod, here are my title holders and some interesting things happening: Heavyweight: Francis Ngannou is the champ after beating Derrick Lewis for the title who had previously beaten Stipe. Ngannou defended once against Tuivasa who was on a roll. He’s not about to fight Jon Jones who was stripped of the LHW belt after testing positive and came back as a heavyweight where he wrecked Walt Harris. Derrick Lewis is fighting Justin Willis in a #1 contender fight and Cyril Gane is closing in on a title shot too. Light Heavyweight: After Jones tastes poaitive Volkan Oezdemir won the title against Blachowicz. Eventually Volkan lost it in a match with Shogun in Brazil. Shogun was unbeatable for some reason, but then lost his first defense to Ion Cutelaba who is about to face Dominick Reyes for his first defense. The division needs fresh blood and I have Cory Hendricks, Punahele Soriano and Jiri all on a roll and closing in on the top 10. Middleweight: Paulo Costa beat Adesanya and defended the belt several times before losing the belt to Rafael Lovatl Jr. Adesanya missed a year after dropping the belt because of legal problems. Lot of contenders here with Whittaker, Moustakas, Weidman, Adesanya and Costa all vying for a title shot. Gastelum and Brendan Allan are moving up the rankings too. Welterweight: Another old man resurgence, Robbie Lawler is a wrecking machine and ended Kamaru Usman’s title run after a lot of guys lost to Usman. Lawler is set to defend against Warlley Alves who is red hot. I’m trying to avoid giving Covington a third title shot cause his fights are boring in the game, but he beats everyone unless it’s for a title. Super Lightweight: Created this division and Vicente Luque and Justin Gaethje are about to fight for the title after a Tournament To crown a champion. I’ve also been running a TUF season with guys in this division which includes Jordan. Burroughs. Lightweight: This is the real shocker...the champ is Gregor Gillespie. Gaethje best Khabib and then lost to Conor and Conor won a few fights before losing to Gillespie. The top contenders right now are Donald Cerrone, Kevin Lee and Renato Carneiro. Featherweight: The champion here is Mirsad Bektic who beat Kattar who had beat Volkanovski. Bektic just best Volkanovski in his first defense after Volkanovski. beat Cejudo. Now Bektic is facing Zabit. A.J. McKee and Lance Palmer are next in line right now. Bantamweight: Another one that has changed hands a lot, but Petr Yan just beat Jose Aldo to take the title. Dillashaw and Moralez have also held the title. Yan is now on hiatus so I likely have to do an interim title which looks like it might be Aldo vs Garbrandt. Flyweight: Joseph Benavidez is unbeatable. He’s also like my most popular fighter now. He’s beaten a bunch of dudes, and now is getting ready to fight Ben Nguyen. Trying to build up Tagir Ulbakenov for a second title shot cause his first fight with Benavidez was wild. Women’s Featherweight: Amanda Nunes has been dominating here and just beat Ketlen Vieira. Macy Chiasson and Kayla Harrison are fighting for the next title shot and Felicia Spencer is probably close to earning another shot. Women’s Bantamweight: Aspen Ladd shocked the world and best Amanda Nunes to take this belt. She defended it once and then got seriously hurt and is out for a year. The interim title is between Sarah Moras and Pannie Kianzad. I don’t think I have to tell you this is my worst division. I may move Schevchenko up just for the star power. Women’s Flyweight: Montana de La Rosa bear Schevchenko after The Bullet had defended a ton of times and was one of my biggest draws. The two women are now coaches for TUF and about to rematch. Waiting in the wings is Maycee Barber, Gillian Robertson, Ariana Lipski, Joanna and Mackenzie Dern. This division has been a lot of fun. Women’s Strawweight: Rose Namajunas best Welli Zhang and is cleaning out this division. She’s about to face Esparza in a trilogy fight and then hopefully a rematch with Virna Jandiroba which was a fight of the year winner. This division has had a lot of fun fights, but needs fresh faces.
  6. I’m nearing the end of 2020 in a mod game using the UFC. Titles are changing hands like crazy. My champions and top contenders are: HW: Francis Ngannou - Just beat Cormier, looking at a Stipe rematch or Blaydes trilogy next. Not much depth in this division, Cormier retired. LHW: Dominick Reyes - Most likely will face Thiago Santos or Johnny Walker, who has been a monster, next. Likely will have Jones win a fight or two and then trilogy fight. MW: Israel Adesanya - No good contenders sadly, may do a one off fight at LHW while I wait for a contender to emerge, or may put Shebazyan in against him which I was going to wait on, but he just beat Till. The game has Brad Tavares as the No. 1 contender, but I just can’t do that. WW: Kamaru Usman - just beat Woodley in a rematch. Lot of options for contenders. Ponzanibio just beat Masvidal, Diaz beat Covington and Conor is facing Covington soon. Leaning towards Ponzinibio cause he’s the most legit contender, though Diaz or Conor sell more fights. LW: Khabib Nurmagomedov - Khabib beat Ferguson and is fighting Do Bronx next. After that Kevin Lee and Al Iaqujnta are both on winning streaks, I could move Conor back down and Ferguson will eventually get a rematch I’m sure. FW: Alexander Volkanovski - Beat Korean Zombie and Yair Rodriguez already, getting ready to face off with Magomedaharipov. Winner of that likely faces Max Holloway. BW: Cory Sandhagen (Petr Yan beat Cejudo before losing to Sandhagen) - Dominick Cruz has won two big fights and likely gets the next title shot. Also have Cejudo/Faber fighting each other and Garbrandt likely getting a number one contender fight soon. Fly: Joseph Benavidez - Getting ready time face off with Formiga. Pantoja vs. Borg is current No. 1 contender fight. WBW: Holly Holm - Beat Nunes, doing a trilogy fight in January 2021. No other great contenders, Aspen Ladd probably fights the winner of Holm/Nunes. Sarah Moras is surprisingly close to a title fight too as she keeps beating my top contenders when I put them up against her. WFly: Joanne Calderwood - Has a fight with Chookagian booked, only because I didn’t want to do an instant rematch with Schevchenko. Most likely the winner will face Schenchenko assuming she wins her next fight or Montana De La Rosa who has been awesome and is about to fight Jessica Eye. SW: Rose Namajunas (Joanna beat Zhang and lost to Rose) - Might be my most competitive division, definitely most competing women’s. Rose is going to face Carla Esparza in a rematch from TUF. Gadelha and Waterson are facing off to be No. 1 contender as both have been crazy hot. Tatiana Suarez, Joanna, Andrade, and Zhang are all lurking.
