  1. In my 1997 WCW game I’ve got Big Bubba Rogers and Fit Finlay as a tag team that I put together once randomly and liked it. I can’t think of a good name for them though, probably cause I’m terrible at that. Suggestions?
  2. I agree with this, you have to use him, but don’t want to. I basically had Mighty Mo part ways for a single push and then just used him to team up with guys I wanted to get over as faces to give a pop rub. I actually struggle a bit with Sammy Bach. You need him, but at least in my game he’s in decline already and you don’t really want to put him over any top heels, but you need to use him against them cause of his popularity.
  3. WCW: August 1996 - June 1997 (Post-Great American Bash) WCW Heavyweight: Hollywood Hogan WCW Tag Team: The Horsemen (Ric Flair & Jeff Jarrett) WCW Unites States: Chris Benoit WCW Television: Mike Awesome WCW Cruiserweight: Rey Mysterio Jr.
  4. I am playing a WCW save and I'm in 1997. Bryan Clarke just became a free agent and I thought I had him signed, but alas the WWF got him back instead. I wanted him so I could recreate the Wrath/Mortis team which I really liked. However, I don't want to use the editor to make it happen. Who could I team Kanyon up with to introduce the Mortis character and get the same effect as the Wrath/Mortis team? The two ideas I currently have are Vader who I just recently signed and thus far have just kind of been using him as a paid mercenary, and The Warlord who I also just signed and is being managed by Kevin Sullivan. Having Sullivan manage Kanyon/Mortis may also help me push him faster as he doesn't have much pop at all right now. Other ideas that people have of guys around in this timeframe?
  5. WCW: August 1996 - May 1997 (Post-Slamboree) WCW Heavyweight: "The Macho Man" Randy Savage WCW Tag Team: The Outsiders WCW Unites States: Sting WCW Television: Syxx WCW Cruiserweight: Rey Mysterio Jr. - Since I last updated this, Chris Benoit (he's in my nWo) returned from injury and took back the US Title from Lex Luger, but did lose it to Sting in the highest rated match I have ever booked. - Also since my last update The Outsiders lost the tag titles to The Steiner Bros., but in the rematch Scott turned on Rick and joined the nWo helping The Outsiders regain the titles. I am obviously speeding up the timeline on certain events that happened in real life. - Syxx is now longest running champion, going on nine months as the TV Champion.
  6. Headed into Slamboree '97 in my WCW save which started at the Nitro following Hogan's turn and joining of the nWo. My current nWo stable is made up of: Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Chris Benoit, Randy Savage, Syxx, Stevie Ray, Big T (Ahmed Johnson), Buff Bagwell and Scott Steiner. I sped up the timeline on some of these guys turns as I want the nWo implosion to happen around the end of this year and not drag on forever. Hogan, Nash, Hall, Benoit, Macho Man, Syxx and Stevie Ray are all Major Stars already, and Scott Steiner is close. Unfortunately the night after Steiner turned on Rick at Uncensored he hurt his knee and it out for two months . The cracks are starting to show in the nWo a bit now. Macho Man earned a future title shot of his choosing. Booker T and Mankind are both making claims to be number one contender, but when they fought Savage interrupted it and now we have a fatal four way at Slamboree. I may have Macho Man win, get jumped out of the nWo, and setup a huge Hogan vs. Savage match a month later where Hogan gets the belt back. Sting has come back a couple months ago as "The Crow" and just won the U.S. Title from Benoit in my first ever "99" rated match. Some of the things I have going that I am really enjoying in the game: - I signed Vader when his contract came up and decided to make him essentially a hired mercenary to go after anyone if the price was right. The nWo has used his services, but have also felt his wrath. He's currently in a feud with The Giant who has taken umbrage to his bully tactics. - I used Ted Debiase as a talking head to help me get Mike Awesome over and it's working out splendidly. It has morphed into a stable with Scott Norton, VK Wallstreet and Chris Jericho included. Needless to say Debiase has been a regular in hiring Vader for certain jobs. Awesome is well known now and is soon going to be the one to dethrone Syxx from his TV Title run which has been quite epic. - I'm trying to use Rey Mysterio Jr. to get the rest of the cruiserweight division over and build up a handful of recognizables there at least. Currently Jericho is now recognizable. I am trying to get other guys over by having them earn title shots, but all the while keeping Jericho in the mix too. - The Outsiders are the Tag Champs, but I am hoping to end that run soon. There are a lot of teams I really like and I just signed Bryan Clarke so I want to form Wrath/Mortis too. The plan is for Flair/Jarrett to dethrone The Outsiders so they don't piss and moan too much about it, but then have a much more active tag title scene, while then utilizing Nash and Hall more in singles work as the nWo story continues to unfold. - I've actually found it a bit hard to get DDP the push I want. He's had a long feud with Buff Bagwell, done lots of work with the core WCW guys like Sting, Luger, Booker T and Mankind, main evented a couple Nitros, but his popularity doesn't budge much form the 62 - 65 it's at right now. I'll keep plugging away at it though. As I type this I am wondering if I'd be better off having DDP team up with someone like Luger to win the tag belts instead of the Horsemen and see if that helps his pop, I'll have to think about that one... - My other favorite project right now is getting Steven Regal over. His promos are gold and he gets great match ratings. He just came off a feud with Roddy Piper where he got over in the rubber match. I see a US Title Run in his near future and sooner than later he'll be in my main event scene.
  7. I always loved when WCW would use the Lethal Lottery Tag Team mechanism. I know that's already a part of Battle Bowl, but maybe just an additional Lethal Lottery Tournament for a prize at some point in the year could be fun.
  8. I was running a show in my WCW save and I had Cactus Jack vs. Vader in a deathmatch and the rating was like 54 because the fans didn't like the hardcore stuff. What setting would I need to adjust in my product to eliminate this kind of reaction?
  9. WCW August 1996 - February 1997 WCW Heavyweight: "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan WCW Tag Team: The Outsiders WCW Unites States: Lex Luger WCW Television: Syxx WCW Cruiserweight: Rey Mysterio Jr.
  10. Playing a WCW game that starts in August '96 just as the nWo is launching. Hoping to make this my first long term game, my attention span is short though so we'll see what happens. I am currently at the end of 1996 now, just having completed Starrcade and the follow up Nitro. Obviously the big story is nWo vs. WCW. I have kept a lot of the same members of the nWo, while not adding some, but also adding in others just for fun. Currently the nWo has the following members with them: Eric Bischoff, Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Syxx, Randy Savage (joined in September after turning on team WCW during Fall Brawl), Chris Benoit (joined in October by turning on the Horsemen), Buff Bagwell, and Stevie Ray w/Sister Sherri (joined at Starrcade turning on Booker T in their Tag Title Match). I did sign Curt Henning with the idea of him joining the nWo as well, though he is out with back problems until mid-1997, so we'll see what I end up doing with him. I am wanting to go all in and go hard with nWo vs. WCW storyline from the start of the game through the end of this year, with the demise of the nWo coming early in 1998, this was something I was determined to decide on before starting the game as I didn't want to be the real WCW and beat this to death for lack of any better ideas. The big players on team WCW currently are The Giant, I have no intention of him joining nWo, Lex Luger, Roddy Piper, DDP, Sting and Booker T. Sting is currently on hiatus after losing his title match at Halloween Havoc against Hogan when Luger accidentally hit him while trying to assist with the nWo interfering. He'll return in another couple months as the Crow character. I also just signed Mankind who has brought along Raven and Saturn with him to start a stable of misfits who will help battle against the nWo. I intend to have Mankind be a significant piece of taking out the nWo and a building block of the company as he is a personal favorite of mine and I feel like WWF never gave him the top guy push he had earned. Konnan did not join the nWo in my game, but rather is working alongside Eddy Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Jr. in a small faction called Latino Heat. They are currently battling "The Royalty" which is Steven Regal, David Taylor and Bobby Eaton. I intended to have Eddy go heel soon in my game as he is just such a great heel, but he and Mysterio have great chemistry teaming together and so I think I will run with that and soon incorporate them into the nWo vs. WCW story as well. Eventually Eddy will turn on Rey and go heel to create a massive feud that I can't wait to put together, but not as soon as I thought. One guy I am working on building up right now is Mike Awesome, just because I always liked him for whatever reason. I signed him and had Ted Debiase bring him as his new client. I am treating him as a heel pre-Goldberg, Goldberg Lite, running through people and building up his name. Debiase has recreated Money Inc with Awesome, Scott Norton and VK Wallstreet. The nWo currently holds all of the titles except for Cruiserweight. Syxx is the TV Champ and Benoit is US Champ and both have already jumped all the way to Major Stars for me. Benoit's feud with Ric Flair has gotten me some massive match and segment ratings and just been a ton of fun to work on. The cruiserweight division is a project for me. I put the belt on Dean Malenko because I want to work with Rey Mysterio Jr. outside of just the cruiserweight division, though he'll certainly return there at times. The problem is no one else is even recognizable in the division outside of Malenko, Mysterio and Eddy. I have built Chris Jericho up to recognizable by having him beat Malenko at Starrcade and now will have him beat Malenko one more time in a rubber match to hopefully keep the rub going. Meanwhile I am working on trying to get guys like Chavo, Juvi, Taka, Dragon, Kidman, Super Crazy, and Jerry Lynn some popularity without absolutely sinking my shows by having guys no one knows fighting each other. I'm determined to make it happen though because the cruiserweight division was always one of the best parts of WCW. I opened my own feeder company called Rise Wrestling League. I signed some young guys like the Hardy's, Edge and Christian, Shane Helms, Lance Storm, and Christopher Daniels, while also sending down some of the lesser guys in WCW such as Glacier, Public Enemy, etc. I will also be moving most Power Plant grads here initially. I want to build up my women's division in RWL and then start transitioning that to the WCW, but there aren't a ton of available women wrestlers at this point to sign. Medusa and Jacqueline have put on some good matches for me there, but Medusa wants to be brought back up and I don't want to lose her in the long run. Would love to hear any feedback you all might have on the setup I have going in the game right now, or suggestions you may have for me moving forward with this. Also, feel free to ask about any other guys I didn't bring up in this writeup and I can tell you what they have been doing.
  11. I am playing a WCW game that started in August 1996 and I have now played through the end of 1996. Here are my champs post-Starrcade '96. Heavyweight: "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan Tag Team: The Outsiders Unites States: Chris Benoit Television: Syxx Cruiserweight: Chris Jericho World War 3 Winner: Ric Flair Currently I am all in on the nWo is dominating WCW holding all the titles except Cruiserweight and the World War 3 MATCH, yes, I have Benoit in the nWo. I want to go hard on the nWo domination for a period with a firm ending in sight, rather than drag out this nWo vs. WCW angle for four years like it was done in real life.
  12. I’m playing as WCW in a real world mod and just had my First World War 3 Match. The match rating for the battle royal tanked the whole show. I think I messed up by saying it should be a spectacle cause I think that intends for psychology. Is that likely my only issue or should I just scrap this thing going forward?
  13. I am playing a WCW Game in mid-1996. At the end of the year Mankind becomes a free agent and I intend to go all-in to sign him and make him the top card draw he should've been. Two Questions as I think ahead: 1) I am leaning towards keeping him as Mankind, am I off on that? 2) Upon signing him I plan to bring in a few ECW guys, for sure Raven and Saturn, and have him as a stable leader. For a name I am thinking "The Misfits." I am pretty happy with that name, but are there better names I am not thinking of?
  14. Might be a dumb question, but how do I get a developmental organization? Do I have to create a new organization, or does it happen if I takeover an organization? Or either or neither of those.
  15. Sorry about that, I missed your questions. Sammy's in-ring performance is declining quite a bit. I signed Rogue a couple months back and the two of them have been locked in a "legends" feud ever since Rogue showed up. Both guys are in a similar spot of in-ring decline, but still a lot of popularity to help get shows over. I had Matt Hocking do a face turn in my game after being kicked out of Sinner's Society. He is currently feuding with them. I'd like to put the TV Title on him possibly after Benson. I haven't done a ton with Eliot Thomas as of yet, he hasn't stood out all that much in his matches, though I have recently been getting messages from workers telling me to push him so I think I might. He is currently in a middling tag team with Danny Fonzarelli.
  16. Wait, Roman Reigns fought on NXT and lost in a tables match?!
  17. How important is it to sell out an arena? Like if my projected audience is 12,000 does it really matter if I use a 10,000 capacity arena or a 15,000?
  18. <p>I'm in October of 2020 with TCW, my first TEW game ever, I've left and kicked around games with other mods and such, but always come back to this one cause it's the most fun for me.</p><p> </p><p> I am just ending a feud between Aaron Andrews and Jay Chord for the world title. Andrews won the first battle in July, and then Chord won the rematch in August leading to the rubber match which just happened in a cell at Excessive Force. Chord won again, and both guys had massive ratings, but I apparently had done another match at some point between the two and so I got crushed with a massive penalty for it being their fourth match in the last handful of months and so it screwed over the whole show's rating.</p><p> </p><p> Chord is currently the leader of a stable called "The New Era" which also has Ernest Youngman, Nelson Callum, Jackpot Jordan and Jake Idol. Youngman has been rising up my ladder incredibly fast. Joshua Taylor has been feuding with the stable and just took out Youngman at Excessive Force. He is now next in line to take on Chord for the title. Taylor has been on absolute fire for me in terms of match ratings, so I am hopeful this will be one of my best matches so far.</p><p> </p><p> The tag titles are held by Mighty Mo and T-Bone Bright (Towers of Destruction) who consistently turn in match performances of 85+ for me. They are locked into a feud right now with Greg Gauge and Matthew Keith (Heirs to the Throne). ToD won the first match, but I am planning to have the Heirs win the rematch so I can shift Mo and T-Bone back to singles work, possibly turning one of them heel, haven't decided on that yet.</p><p> </p><p> Wolf Hawkins lost to Aaron Andrews at Total Mayhem and was subsequently jumped by The Syndicate and Freddy Huggins who took over as leader while Wolf was out for three months with an injury. Wolf is back now as a face and working on picking off The Syndicate one by one which will ultimately culminate with Wolf vs. Huggins for at least one, if not more, matches.</p><p> </p><p> I am going to have Aaron Andrews work a story with Sinner's Society next, with Eddie Peak already taunting him for his loss. Sycthe just debuted for me at Excessive Force, helping Eddie Peak defeat Matt Hocking who is now a face. Sycthe will be heavily involved in this angle and it will likely go on for a bit considering all the different opponents for Andrews here and ways I can mix in other characters.</p><p> </p><p> Benny Benson is a heel and he has had the Television Title for a few months now, just ending a really strong feud with Edd Stone. Benson has a bodyguard in Mutant, which has been fun to work with. I haven't decided on a firm direction for where to go next with the title in terms of storylines, though I plan to unload the title onto a younger character to build up in due time.</p>
  19. Thanks guys, that's helpful. They are two of my top performers, 80's and 90's ratings every time, so it's disappointing when the match score takes a hit. I'll be more mindful of opponents going forward though and also play around with match types.
  20. I’m playing a game with TCW and my tag champs are Mighty Mo and T-Bone. For the last three of their matches I’ve gotten a penalty for “not enough selling.” Why does that happen and how do I prevent it?
  21. Keep us updated on what happens with Stone Cold when he comes back too!

  23. Bellator Breaking News Press Conference ***A somber Bellator President takes his place behind the microphone to start the press conference. The media all seem to know what the topic is, but aren't sure what the response from Nate Quarry and Bellator will be.*** Quarry: As you are well aware by now, there was an incident last night involving our Middleweight Champoion, Gegard Mousasi. Late last night Gegard was arrested on charges of assault after an argument at a bar turned violent. Unlike some places we are not going to sweep this under the rug or ignore it. I've spoken with Gegard who spent the night in jail and was bonded out this morning. Gegard is remorseful for his actions, and noted he is going to be participating in treatment to address his drinking. The legal world will do it's thing and Gegard is prepared to face whatever comes. Bellator has made the decision that we will be stripping him of his title effective immediately and he will be facing a one year suspension, with the stipulation that he does in fact complete treatment. The Middleweight Title will be determined in a four man tournament featuring Lyoto Machida and Anatoly Tokov which has already been booked, and Costello Van Steenis against Lorenz Larkin who is moving up from Welterweight. That fight will get booked in the very near future. Now to end things on a positive note, we're unveiling the full card and bout order for Bellator 259. ***Quarry shifts gears matter of factly and without questions on the Mousasi incident. *** Bellator 259 Full Card Main Event Bantamweight Title © Juan Archuleta (24-2, 6-1) vs. #2 Kyoji Horiguchi (29-2, 1-0) Co-Main Event Women's Flyweight Title © Juliana Velasquez (11-0, 6-0) vs. #3 Liz Carmouche (14-7, 1-0) Main Card #4 Benson Henderson (28-10, 5-5) vs. #9 Chris Wade (17-6, 0-0) #4 Khalid Murtazaliev (14-2, 0-0) vs. #8 Mike Shipman (14-3, 5-2) #6 Dovletzhan Yagshimuradov (18-5-1, 0-0) vs. #11 Jordan Johnson (12-2-1, 0-0) Preliminary Card #14 Jordan Mein (31-13, 0-1) vs. Jon Manley (13-6, 2-0) #9 Lena Ovchynnikova (12-6, 2-3) vs. Melissa Martinez (7-0, 0-0) Gokhan Saricam (5-1, 1-1) vs. Davion Franklin (2-0, 1-0) #12 Dominic Mazzotta (15-3, 1-2) vs. James Gallagher (11-1, 8-0) #14 Amber Leibrock (4-4, 1-3) vs. Larissa Pacheco (13-4, 0-0) Alex Polizzi (7-1, 1-1) vs. Lee Chadwick (26-15-1, 2-2)

  25. I'm playing a 2004 RW mod with WWE. I intend to keep most things true to form through Wrestlemania. For post-Wrestlemania and post-draft I want to have a longer lasting feud between Chris Benoit and Evolution. My thought is to have Arn Anderson get involved confronting Ric Flair's actions and ultimately Anderson convinces Benoit to remake the Four Horsemen with him. Question is this, who else should I have join Benoit? Been kicking around a few ideas, thought about Shelton Benjamin, but I don't want to break up Benjamin/Haas yet cause I loved that team. I could have Edge in the group, he obviously teamed up a lot with Benoit and they watched each others back in that period. Just not sure if Edge feels like a Horsemen. I plan to start Bradshaw's single push on Smackdown around this time as in real life, so maybe I use Ron Simmons in the Horsemen? Thought about having Jericho join the Horsemen. Can he handle being second fiddle to Benoit? Do I want him in that role even? It could lead to an eventual heel turn and killer Benoit/Jericho feud. What other ideas do people have for me? I am planning on doing four guys with Arn as just a figurehead for them, not one of the actual four members.
