  1. You mentioned adding insult to injury, which definitely brought up celebrating a TKO/TD. You think a 5'10" 175 guy (that's what he's listed as, but I've seen him up close...he's smaller than that) who has had 2 concussions in the last 12 months should drop his shoulder on a 6'2" 225 guy running at him full speed? Really... Go back and look at some guys of Jackson's size that did just that in previous eras of the NFL. THEY CAN BARELY WALK ANYMORE and that was when the average player was much, much smaller. Pfft **** his future quality life, if he doesn't go nose to nose with a guy who has 50 lbs on him and is running at him full speed, he's a punk. I don't care what you think about Desean Jackson, but making absolute declarations about someone's personality based on what they do while on the field is absolutely innane.
  2. It happened in the past and many more pitchers also blew their arms out in their early 30s.
  3. Well if you choose to avoid and ignore completely valid points there's no reason to argue. And you missed my edit: If you're going to be an incorrigible horse's ass, why bother sharing your opinion?
  4. When someone gets a TKO in MMA or boxing...do they celebrate and dance around the ring/cage? YES! Did you really just compare intentionally being an ass with intentionally trying to injure someone? Really... Not a single rule change in the last 30 years is the cause of Desean Jackson putting on the jets and running past an entire defense. Defensive players do a dance every time they stop the offense for a loss has no right to complain about Desean Jackson. Watch an NFL game and watch what happens every time the offense is stopped for a loss. Someone's dancing. Yet it's only controversial when it's after a touchdown.
  5. On Vance Worley: Thats exactly why I think Vance Worley will be the 5th starter by May. He will learn so much from the pitchers around him, is already an incredibly smart pitcher for his age, and will be under no pressure to be anything but "meh." On your four man rotation idea: Don't give Charlie Manuel any ideas. He worked Roy Halladay like a horse last year.
  6. Blanton is gone. In fact, don't be shocked if he ends up a Yankee. Phils have a 23-year old who is tailor made for the back of this rotation. His name is Vance Worley. Vance up up a 3.36 ERA with a 2.6 BB/9 and 6.8 K/9 between AA and AAA last year, he had a cup of coffee in the majors where he posted a sub 1.50 ERA in 13 innings (take those major league numbers with a grain of salt obviously). Not an overpowering pitcher, doesn't project as more than a #4 on a good team, but he doesn't give up a ton of baserunners and doesn't get hurt by the long ball (.7 HR/9 in the minors last year) oh btw this almost made me die laughing http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/8476/15587717587569577525910.jpg
  7. http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/3897/cliffleecatch.gif http://i36.tinypic.com/2f0dguq.gif I need new pants.
  8. Joel Sherman tweeted: 1st exec who pushed #Phillies this afternoon said to me, "Lee has known #Yankees, #Rangers offers for days and is not asking for more so he has to be stalling or hearing something some place else from team he likes. He likes Philly." :D :D If he signs he's gonna be leaving $50-70M on the table to come back here. Halladay-Lee-Oswalt-Hamels-Worley/Kendrick Blanton will be dealt to make room for Lee. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya Joe. Thanks for 2008 but PEACE!
  9. In my opinion when you score a 91 yard go-ahead TD against a fierce division rival on the road, you can do backflips if you want. If you don't wanna see the celebration, don't let them score. Jackson's TD celebrations are far more tame than post-sack alpha male BS defenders do that no one complains about.
  10. http://30fps.mocksession.com/STYLIN.gif Desean Jackson is the Human Gif Machine.
  11. With the extension of the playoffs they certainly have a chance. The Pirates intentionally don't spend money, they can't spend Red Sox money but they can definitely spend Twins money if they wanted to. I don't know about the Royals though. Baseball needs more incredibly rich owners who are willing to spend money on their teams. See: ex-Wal-Mart CEO David Glass and the Nationals Football is great because of the players union is incredibly weak and they have national TV contracts that by themselves just about cover the salary cap number. Baseball doesn't and can never have that since there is a 162 game schedule. In other news the Reds just locked up Jay Bruce to a 6-year deal worth $51 million with an option of a 7th year. Fantastic signing for the Reds. Jay Bruce is a stud.
  12. Gotta admit I LOL'd at Bubba Ray tagging with a random black dude
  13. I had to post these pictures because 1. I love the Raiders and am rooting for Tom Cable. and 2. Phillip Rivers can go **** himself. http://i.imgur.com/jtWlU.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6sr0R.jpg The last one may be the greatest picture ever taken.
  14. I've said it before and I'll say it again. TNA needs to get rid of 8 of their PPVs as they're useless. Go with 4 PPVs and book to them and you'll see TV ratings go up moderately and PPV buy rates go up significantly.
  15. Overusing them and having them as the finish to the main event of 3 straight PPVs. I don't remember the finish of the August PPV as I'm drunk but I wouldn't be shocked if that was a dusty finish as well. Part of why I don't like Russo/Bischoff is because they think that the finish doesn't matter. It does matter. There were dirty finishes to what, 4 of the 9 matches tonight? That's too much!
  16. I can't help but feel like 1/2 of the finishes were changed right before the matches started or during the matches. Even Russo wouldn't have booked that many ****ty finishes ahead of time. The best match was AJ vs Williams and that was also the only match that had a good finish. I'm growing tired of sports entertainment as a whole. TNA would be so much better off if they got rid of all the ****ing overbooked finishes. Just let the guy you want to win pin their opponent 1-2-3. For the love of Christ... Part of what will allow pro wrestling to get hot again is the abolishment of dusty finishes.
  17. Wow this is the hottest I've heard a crowd for a TNA PPV Main Event in ages.
  18. Eh I don't think so. WWE would put him on NXT and he would look as silly as Kaval and Daniel Bryan have. He isn't as skilled as either of them and I wouldn't count on him lasting very long in WWE. 2006 Samoa Joe? Would maybe last a while in WWE. But he's put on a good 30 lbs since then if not more.
  19. Jarrett-Joe = Meeeeeehhhh But believe it or not it's not Jarrett's fault. It's the booking.
  20. Why steer away from it? Not like they have to protect kayfabe or anything.
  21. TNA's production has been a real fail tonight. Not quite epic but inexcusable mistakes have been made.
  22. Jesus MCMG vs GenMe invented some new spots for TLC matches that I guarantee will be stolen by many future TLC matches.
