  1. If you’re small then lots of annual normal shows. Check the expected turn-out and jigger with your ticket prices to get the right attendance. For example if you’re due to get 500 fans on normal prices it’s probably worth selling them cheap to near fill a 1000 hall. This is the first time I’ve really paid attention to attendances and ticket prices. It helped that SW US has the Warehouse with 500 capacity. Oh and don’t try running a weekly TV show too soon. They bleed money. Lucky I only took a 3 month contract.
  2. First year done and Kanzen (I always steal a company from the database and reimage it) is verging on Small, carried on the back of Talia Quinzel who has been our champion for the whole year. She has been involved in 8 of our 10 highest scoring matches. I'm faced with the Wrestleworld dilemma and having put it off since we hit 25 I'm going to try and make it work going over from a touring company to a TV show one. I need to get to small to start giving written contracts to unemployed people - up to now I've been bringing in "my" workers only to see QAW give them a contract a month or two down the line (Shiori Jippinski, Christy Higgins). Not a problem at the moment but QAW look likely to reach Medium in 2021 which could have devastating results on our roster. My user character is coming along as you'd expect someone who gets to wrestle 60 times a year in the new system. After the AR Syren botch (left her legs at 41%, which can't be good) she's not been too bad - injuring Ava Anderson for a couple of months but its no more than she deserved. I got three rolls (for tiny, 50-rated card and 50-rated match) Selfish performer with Swagger Snow to eskimos Loyalty with her tag partner, Ellie de Grazia with whom I have great chemistry and who can intimidate QAW divas into taking a pin every so often. I've already got 53 tag experience with her as we only work together. Anyway according to my calculations I'm likely to lose about 15k in the first month because of raised production values so I'm hoping we can break even quickly or this will be a very short-lived career.
  3. Well I think that there's also a thing in some performance products that says that important matches are expected to be long (which is a different note from the length cap note). And that seems to be 20 minutes and "important" seems to mean that anyone perceived as a star is in the match. Basically meaning that any match involving stars and unimportant/recognised workers is either going to ding the match for not being long enough for the importance of the match or ding your card for over-using the unknown workers in that match. But like people have been saying the dings probably aren't very big so its not worth getting too worried about it.
  4. Used to be based on their push. I've seen people getting irritated about being left off of shows so I guess it's today with their perception. Depends on the type of events you're running though. Another reason why touring is good at the lowest levels.
  5. The production costs are a killer when you're a tiny company. And to be honest at tiny what good is Wrestleworld actually doing you? Gaining you a bit of merch sales in the rest of the country? When your merch is probably ramshackle? It doesn't seem worth it. Additionally it will increase the national popularity of your workers which will; a) mean they will want more money and b) mean that they're more likely to be poached by bigger feds. Obviously in the long term you need Wrestleworld to get to Medium but I wouldn't be in a rush to get a deal - it costs too much in the short-term. I have to say that I'm loving the dynamic Wrestleworld introduces into the world. That being said I just got fined 50k for music right infringement, which is the first time that's ever happened to me. So I'm now 40k in the hole with only 4 months left until the new year. So I'm back on a touring schedule. Particularly as all my workers from QAW want loads of money because QAW has a weekly show and they're accruing popularity like you wouldn't believe. I've started actively trying to leech that pop onto my other workers. My user-character has also ruined the career of Air Raid Syren with a botched move. Out for a year. So I've started having to use Keep it Simple notes for her. It's the most fun I've had in the first half year of doing a RtG I have to say.
  6. You have to rate at least around 29 or so better than your current popularity I believe, which can be tough in any sort of popularity based product. If the wrestling industry is in the toilet then it's probably a lot more. (so it won't work in Japan in the default database as that is set at 17 or something). I've cheesed a bit by having main event focus because I know I have 4-5 workers who can pull off a 40+ rated match in the main event. You don't get any momentum or prestige from them though so it's not all win with touring.

Like how to start? Best area to possibly begin? How many wrestlers/staff to hire at start? Go with weekly or once a month show?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I’m trying a women’s touring luchuresu company in California. Basis of using touring is that it reduces your costs and you can get a 40 rated show off the bat which should get you max pop gain up to around 10 pop at which time I’ll switch to normal. I’ve run 5 tour shows in January to get my pop to 5 and I’m “only” 900 in debt.</p><p> </p><p> You don’t need announcers or colour at insignificant and you can use your vets as road agents so you save money there. I only hired wrestlers on $40 or less, based in range so I didn’t have to pay travel (SW, mid-South, NW).</p>
  9. What do people plan on doing with the Ivanoffs? They are waaaay more over than anyone else, get better performance scores in angles and matches but they’re a tag team. I know there’s no reason not to have one or both of them compete for the King of Scotland but that doesn’t seem right given that they left 21CW because they wanted to split them and I think Igor vs Ivan feud would be horribly dull (no matter how the game would rate it). It’s an interesting position Adam has created in the game start.
  10. The problem with Higa is that, yes, she is the best performer but I suspect that once you put the World Title on her you won’t be able to get it off her without her throwing a strop. I’ve made Birds of Prey tag champs as they can easily headline shows but there’s always the get-out of having Gemmei take a pin to try and keep her popularity in check. I like the idea of Gemmei getting the World title some time before her to lead up to a match in Joshimania 2021. But that could be just chopping off the nose to spite the face when Higa puts on better performances. I mean she just had an 88 rated match with Yuma while most of the rest of the roster is engaged in Team Wars. So maybe it’s best to let her be World champ for years.
  11. Is there a penalty to using the guy other than their performance/match getting dinged. Rohan Kirchner (?) gets negative reaction in SNP but his performance rating in our high-flier matches is as good as Brilliant White’s. Don’t really want to let him go when he could be a main-stay of the division.
  12. <p>Once you can get to 30 pop in all regions you pretty much explode - just televise all your shows ( if you have 9 a month) for a pop gain of 3.7 a month. The wrestlers get ridiculously over as well plus all the matches mean pretty much everyone has maxed out performance skills (except selling which comes a lot slower). The one problem with TV is the lack of decent announcers (the best available is the guy I fired to save money and he won't come back).</p><p> </p><p> I'm coming up to the 2018 Grand Prix and unlike last year it feels like I have a plethora of options. Once the roster is settled in you can concentrate on developing stories, histories and rivalries. Despite not wanting to go the gaijen invaders route I did just that - I desperately needed some tag experience so wanted to get The Ring Generals to carry the tag division through the hard times. Bulldozer Smith seemed a natural fit to be in a stable with them and then Merle O'Curle pretends to be from New York to create the Kings of New York. Apart from the Generals they aren't getting any gold but they did win the Lion tour stable contest, drafting in Logan Diaz ( ne Wolfsbane) as they're 5th member. I think there's an interesting dynamic with Smith and O'Curle not always on the same page (and not just because they have zero tag chemistry).</p><p> </p><p> I don't actially know their names just the initials but I'm looking for KK or MM (the rookie at the start of the game who is mentored by T Taku) to win the grand prix - or possibly let Raymond Diaz win it and have one last monster run as he's only just started time decline. I'm already thinking about national and the need for star power, something we're conspiculously lacking in at the moment.</p>
  13. OK - so something very weird happens with the game when BHOTWG bump down to Cult. Most promotions cut workers, BHOTWG went on a massive hiring spree. Fair enough they cut a lot of their older, time-decline workers but they still hired around 25-30 new workers. That included literally every worker on my roster who was midcard or over and not in time decline or loyal. So not just Okamato och Y Taku, which I was expecting, but such luminaries as Hotta who I only recently had picked up. It wasn't just us either. There were a bunch of PGHW releases as they went to Cult as well but BHOTWG snatched them up as well. And a lot of non-loyal GCG and Exodus dudes as well. They now must have a roster of 83 wrestlers. At Cult. I removed the weight split but too late it would seem. So I've gone through and given loyalty to the young lions who haven't worked for another promotion and aren't mercenary. Then I had little option but to hire some foreigners. I could have hired some of the old cast-offs from BH but they were surprisingly rubbish when I hired two on short-term contracts for the Grand Prix, plus they cost too much and they would only put over Torii or Funakoshi over (who don't need it), even though they were on "Pass the torch" contracts. In the end I gave the Grand Prix win to Blast Ikoma, out of desperation. I didn't see much point in Torii or Funakoshi winning again, I had Merle O'Curle and Bulldozer but I didn't think they deserved it yet and they could easily disappear again. Ikoma is improving but he isn't anywhere near the level of Torii or Funakoshi. Funakoshi got the title from Okamato before he left. On the plus side I worked out that holding monthly rather than weekly shows meant you get the normal attendance rather than the drastically reduced tour attendance, so I'm now making a, very small, profit every month. So I have a monthly show for each region of Japan. We still get whipped by GCG and 5Stars in regional battles though so we continue to net lose popularity. At least the wrestling industry is almost over 25 at last.
  14. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Big Smoke" data-cite="Big Smoke" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41290" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>Year Three Goals</strong><p> Start turning a profit?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Darin Flynn must be killing it with that product setting. He's a favourite of mine since he made it to the Hall of Immortals in a 2010 game I had. Isn't the Ab Snowman terrible for a performance Product though?</p>
  15. Losing 1-2k/month is nothing for BCG - even if it's a week then its still nothing. Did you mean 100-200k? Because then ouch! I'm playing BCG and after the tsunamai losing 80k/month seems the order of the day. I'm having to move away from the strict touring concept. On the plus side it should give you plenty of shows to improve your skills in. I'd be imterested in seeing your product and roster for Europe.
  16. <p>So I'm now through the Lion tour which ended with this. </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/PDyzRxm.gif</span></p><p> </p><p> Which was nice. Especially as Torii was off his game. Pyscho Sermons are a bit op really. This is about 6 better than my next best match. GCG went to Cult and didn't take Razan which encouraged me to pull the trigger on him winning. I was quite pleased with the Lion tour overall as I turned it into a sort of formalised battle between the three factions. Razan's faction finally came out on top to earn him the chance to face Torii at Lion's Roar. I live in fear of losing Razan - maybe I should stop playing until the patch with loyalty comes out. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Unfortunately GCG fell to Regional again (because of changing area importance I think) so they'll be going back up to Cult pretty soon again. It also meant that we got walloped in the regional battles as we can't compete with them and 5 Stars production values (I'm already bleeding money as it is - tour shows just don't work when you have to pay the same production costs for them as for events - case in point PGHW who lose something like a cool million every other month). </p><p> </p><p> The original roster is getting whittled away though, Sen is the latest to go, he hit main event on the back of winning the tag titles and having tag chemistry with faction member Dynamite Narahashi, so BHOTWG nabbed him. I've fired Yoshizawa after he started about 5 fights in the space of one tour, leaving me with Miura without a team. He's our NBT but who's performance really isn't all that good so I've given him the Challenger Title for the time being. Yokakawa is living on borrowed time now as well as Sen has left and he's another who likes pissing off the locker room on a regular basis. With all these losses to the roster it's becoming harder and harder not to just flood the company with the usual suspect foreigners - I'm trying to keep off having a gaijen faction until we, at least, hit Cult (if we do - we're pretty much back to square one in popularity, apart from in Kinki). </p><p> </p><p> I guess Yoshinaka Taku is the next worker destined to go, as he's clearly main event level talent currently. Unfortunately pretty soon it looks like it will be the loyal workers & whoever I sign at the company, which is a pity.</p>

Both of my games that have made it past 2018 (starting in 2016) have had the owner give me that requirement for one of my first critical ones and I've had $10,000 in the bank by June 2017 running 1 show a month.<p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I run a promotion starting in Sweden with unfavourable sponsorship and I had to close down for a month to make the 10k goal. It depends on your area, wrestling/economic situation, product and availability of cheap talent.</p>
  18. <p>I thought I'd give this a go as the discussion piqued my interest and I like the idea of a dinosaur steadfastly fighting modernisation. My first (naive) thoughts were that if I toured every region once a month I should be able to get a TV deal just before the tsunamai. Didn't reckon with regional battles booting me back 6 spaces to the 5 I moved forward with successful shows. </p><p> </p><p> I've just experienced the tsunamai (start of June) and have lost about 80,000 so far. Not great but not the end of the world. The problem is that I've been following a strict touring rotation with 8 tour shows in 8 regions and the big show in Kinki. This probably isn't optimal though - the benefits of targeting one region are obvious financially and in terms of match ratings (if you let your popularity wither to less than 11 in other regions then worker popularity will only count for the home region where the constant barrage of shows will see the roster soar in popularity). Buuuuut if your popularity disappears in the rest of the country it will take FOREVER to get it back to the level where you can get a TV deal. Exodus have already lost all the popularity they had around the country, which is handy for me as it means that I have one less company to worry about in the regional battles. GCG and 5 Star have managed to grab TV shows so they don't have to worry about that, and GCG will hit Cult soon. </p><p> </p><p> Workers have been leaving but I have managed to hold onto some with clenched fists. I managed to keep hold of Razan by giving him Icon status and hiring veto. I managed to beat off GCG for Sojuro Sen as well - once we lose Razan (I presume GCG will get him when they hit Cult) Sen will probably take his main event spot. Lost Toshusai (of course) and Roku Sotomora in January, fired a bunch of deadweights and have just lost Big Bruiser. So I've gone with three factions with Torii, Funakoshi and Razan as the leaders. Razan won the GP final over Funakoshi in our highest rated match to date (84) but neither have been able to topple Torii and take the World title. Funakoshi beat him in the semis of the GP, giving Funakoshi the legitimacy to challenge Torii for the title at Survivor. It's nice to have Razan so I don't have to try and push Blast Ikoma into the main event scene just yet. </p><p> </p><p> I'm struggling with a terrible locker room. Despite there hardly being any negative influences every man and his dog seems to be intent on kicking off a fight. This has (finally) start using hardline approaches and gained me Points on the iron fist/fear axis. If Yokokawa starts one more fight I'm kicking him to the curb - despite he being one half of the #1 contenders to the tag titles. (I was ready to give it to them when he chose that show to start a fight with Maeda. Clearly not the smartest move in the world). Blast Ikoma started as upper midcard for me (I'm using 16x dunno if that made a difference) and while he didn't really have the ability to warrant that spot he's actually developing into one of the better workers we have. </p><p> </p><p> Now that the industry is in the toilet it feels like it might be time to turn down the number of tour shows we have. They cost money and I'm not sure they're worth the +.2 pop gain they give. Regional wars will sap off lots of popularity though, leaving me worse off than at the start. It's a challenge but I feel like the whole point of playing BCG is to follow the traditional route, otherwise you can play as GCG. Might be interesting to see what happens in a promotion where you don't actually grow. From previous games I'm guessing that GCG and 5 Stars will remove themselves from the regional battles through getting to Cult or going bust which will leave us as the top dog everywhere but Tohuku where Exodus will rule with their production values. </p><p> </p><p> I haven't really had any world-shattering signings. As the departures piled up I have a bunch of Young lions at the foot of the card. Kado Kamisaki has got next big thing and hot prospect status so I'm trying to get him improved a bit (but not too much at the moment), particularly as I feel bad about ignoring him in my RTG game.</p>
  19. <p><span>http://i.imgur.com/Rw7UThh.gif</span></p><p> </p><p> Yep, we got to National around September - just in time to be able to keep most of our talent. (Bizarrely the richest company in the world SOTBPW only took perpetual midcarder tag specialist Dragon Americano from us). So my character wins the King of New York at our final show for the year, in front of 75 000 fans, and being shown around the world (on CommPlanet and our very own network in Japan). A couple of days later Shooter Sean Deeley is nominated the best wrestler in the world and we win pretty much all the major awards. My user character is only 4th <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. We dominate the top 10 of the Power 500, only missing one spot (5th for Nicky Champion at SOTBPW). However I have only ever had one solitary 100 match, predictably in a tag. My stamina means that it's impossible to get a single 100. </p><p> </p><p> We come in second place in the national battles - it's impossible to compete with Champagne Lover and Nicky Champion. (CL is on time decline so it'll happen eventually). But we're still growing because of our shows. Across the globe the interesting development is the arrival of CommPlanet which means that WLW are now International and growing. CGC are national in Canada with a great little roster including Wolf Hawkins, Steve Frehley, Davis Wayne Newton and .... the 48-year old Dan DaLay. Still. Despite being at the bottom of time decline with 0 in most top row stats, 17 consistency and 0 stamina. Good choice in best friends there Dan.</p><p> </p><p> SWF and TCW have both hit national at the start of the year so there are currently 5 national companies in the US (SOTBPW and 21CW are the other two). WLW are on the verge as well and will hit US national during January. Despite having less pulling power in Japan than BHOTWG. IF SWF could book themselves properly then they could dethrone SOTBPW from the Pulling Power throne as they have a plethora of dudes with 92+ SQ. Unfortunately they're all loitering around the midcard to no avail. </p><p> </p><p> <a href="http://i.imgur.com/ifCGqtJ" rel="external nofollow">Skills at end of 2023</a></p><p> <a href="http://i.imgur.com/vvV7HBl" rel="external nofollow">Skills at start</a></p><p> </p><p> I don't know if I want to carry on. In one respect I have the idea of creating a faction of the original workers (Xavi, Silencer, Austin Smooth, Cobra and Hawkeye Calhoun) as bitter veterans angry at the upstarts coming in and "taking over". (I've got some fantastic newgens coming up, as well as Devyn Reynaud who has obviously had a great destiny roll). There's always the aim of getting into the Hall of Immortals as well. But I quite fancy the idea of starting over setting SAW to open in Jan 2016.</p>
  20. I agree that its probably the quickest way in game time, but it makes little difference in playing time. In fact when the industry is 25- you're spending time booking shows that get you minimal pop increase. (I can't get onboard with the auto-booker). Isn't there a problem with repetitive booking with 4 shows a month at the start? I don't remember having it but I had a relatively big roster (before it was changed for local). And the pop/skill incteases probably mean that matches will get progressively better.
  21. <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">End of Year 2022</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Big gap as I got a bit burned out on this and started a new save game. However I was drawn back in and we're well on our way to National. Barring disasters we should get there around June 2023. Dunno what happened, if there was a patch or something, but our top match grades soared to A* territory midway through the year. Dunno if the game looks at the popularity in the whole of the US rather than just the one region as that would explain it - thanks to our TV deal with OnDem. </p><p> </p><p> The new problem is that it is literally impossible for me to renew a contract with any worker, as we are always outbid by USPW, TCW, SWF or CGC (of all people). It hasn't been too bad yet (the biggest guy we lost was<strong> Kid San Juan </strong>who was tag champion with Island Boy Apollo). But the coming year I've got most of my main event coming up for renewal. I can't see how we can possibly keep National status if most of our star quality guys sod off elsewhere just as we turn national. </p><p> </p><p> On the plus side we were the promotion of the year (although not the most improved promotion bizarrely enough) and we had the show of the year (a 100 in December). We also have the young wrestler of the year in the locker-room cancer regen <strong>Kotaro Fukumitsu</strong>. With a name like that and 90 star quality I have to hold onto him even though he is perfectly capable of turning an entire locker room against someone he dislikes (Ray Snow was the unlucky victim recently - I had to cut him). </p><p> </p><p> <a href="http://i.imgur.com/KAbuZNx.gif" rel="external nofollow">End of 2022</a></p><p> <a href="http://i.imgur.com/CuwQV6F.gif" rel="external nofollow">End of 2021</a></p><p> </p><p> 2020 +5 Aerial</p><p> 2021 +5 consistency</p><p> 2022 +5 Mat Wrestling</p><p> </p><p> Well I should be easily able to get an A* match from my guy once we hit national but his stamina means that he's become the expert of the slow-build 20 minute match. My position as figurehead has been getting us +55% merchandising but that position is challenged by <strong>Captain Wrestling II </strong> (sacked by RAW for racist comment) and <strong>Haranobu Kobayashi</strong> (PGHW folded then he broke his neck working at WEXV and was out for a year) so I'm down to 45% now. </p><p> </p><p> From having no-one of the popularity list last year we now have a flock of people. </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/rPbWWwY.gif</span></p><p> </p><p> <strong><strong>Garry the Entertainer</strong></strong><strong> </strong>(or Garry Walker as I call him) is a surprise appearance - thanks to the feelgood story of our last show, when he and <strong>Hawkeye Calhoun</strong> defeated <strong>Xavi Ferrara/Ernest Youngman </strong>in a tag title unification match in a cage. And the thing is that they outperformed them in the ring (mostly due to chemistry and experience, but still). </p><p> </p><p> <strong>King of New York (ME)</strong>: Shooter Sean Dealey - his contract runs though the year so he's always going to be main eventing and in the mix. </p><p> <strong>Pennsylvania Title (Midcard)</strong>: El Serpiente - beat Captain Wrestling II who is main event bound. </p><p> <strong>Unified Tag Title</strong> Garry Walker/Hawkeye Calhoun (Game for a Laugh - geddit! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />)</p><p> <strong>Duke of the Bronx (Tournament):</strong> Felipe Callabero (in "operation get some star quality into the main event"). </p><p> </p><p> And the show of the year. </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/neVerPG.gif</span></p><p> </p><p> Challenge status</p><p> </p><p> <strong>David Narcizo - American Pro Wrestling Federation (Cult)</strong></p><p> Game Date: January 2023</p><p> Best UC Match so far: 99 vs Haranabou Kobayashi (October 2022)</p>
  22. On the other hand by the time you're established in one area, production values cost so little as to be of negligable impact. Because shows are waaaaay over-attended.
  23. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="d12345" data-cite="d12345" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I have 2 A shows a week as TCW. My product is real intense and I don't want to wear them out.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I think they will so you might want to consider a brand split.</p>
  24. I'm having a big problem with it as well. It effects my main events and matches that I would expect to rate in the 90s (and have done Before) end up around 80 because of it. As it's the main event it has a huge effect on the overall show rating. There's a note that the storyline has been progressed during the match so it isn't that it's not finding the storyline. I've started running an angle before the match to make sure the story heat was 100 but that doesn't help.

You probably don't want to pay much over $300 though and don't give travel compensation. You don't need a colour commentator - if you want to use announcing (as your owner is an announcer then you can get one of the wrestlers to colour commentate if any have any skill). Your first month is always going to be the most expensive as you don't get much sponsorship. I don't know if it helps but theoretically having your show at the start of the month should help as you'll get the pop bump to help with sponsorship.</p>
